the endless battle of me vs whatever bizarre need school teachers have to teach kids to prepare for language speaking exams by memorising huge blocks of text at a time

for most students this is vastly unhelpful???? I'll fight i swear it

#i get it if the student is genuinely struggling to learn the necessary language components independently #when you have a class of 30+ you don't have the time or space to coach those students to where they need to be #so although i still hate it because that's a box-ticking exercise for scraping a pass NOT any sort of decent metric for language learning.#i do understand how it comes about #but even for higher tier students??? who are perfectly capable of answering complex questions using independently created language???#i fucking hate it!!!! it creates so much unnecessary pressure!!!!#tell me why ive got a student who can get 7s/8s in speaking without this bullshit in TEARS the night before her mock #asking me to help her memorise a full page of A4 #and for what exactly???? she can do it on her own!!! get your ticky tacky house bullshit out of language GCSE #god it gets me mad #sorry. tag rant #ugh!!!!#charlie posts things
