hiii, I hope this doesn't bother you but I wanted to ask if you have any recs on how to write smut you can share with me pls lol

im writing my first ever fic and I absolutely want it to have smut bc I love smut and I thought to ask you ab it because I love your smut but I have like cero idea how to star writing it :(((

I’ve made a post on what words I’d recommend to use as descriptors in smut here I think that would be somewhat helpful! There’s tons of really good tips floating around tumblr from more experienced smut writers but since I’m not really aware of your writing skill/style I’ll give some vague tips haha

I think first things first, don’t stress over it being perfect, like really don’t. My first smut was atrocious and I wrote it like, this year as a grown woman 😭 Second, I’d personally advice to get into a mood. You don’t have to be horny but I personally cannot write sex without feeling something before I have my fingers on the keyboard it’s genuinely the most boring thing to write in the world if you’re just…idk neutral? 😭

I think the best advice ever is where exactly do you want the smut to go? How far? Do the characters have sex, penis in vagina or is it just a damn handjob in a stall lmao. Then when you figure out the end, go back, how does it start? Does he push her into a door and start kissing her? Was it a heated argument and then someone just decided to crash their lips onto the others? Then you could add a build up— ‘he kisses along her jawline as she busies herself unbuckling his pants’. I don’t know if its helpful to say but if you have a plot, and you’ve set those pillar parts up for your smut, you kind of get into a flow. At least for me thats how it goes.

I would strongly strongly advice to write what you like 😭 If you don’t like unprotected, don’t write unprotected. If you don’t like choking, don’t write choking, you get what I mean. I don’t know why but it’s very evident when reading smut if a writer just isn’t really into it and it does lower the enjoyability of a reader
