#QatarGP Race Highlights.

Charles chassis is fixed so he is going to start P13 as per usual.

3 place grid penalty for Valtteri for not following the yellow flag.. He starts P6.

Max gets 5 place grid penalty for ignoring double yellow flags. He starts P7.

No action was needed for Carlos. He provided evidence that he followed the procedures. 

Due to Max and Valtteri’s penalties Pierre now starts P2. Alonso P3 Lando P4 and Carlos P5. Rest of the grid is same.

Pierre first French person to start on front tow since Romain Grosjean in 2012.

Bottas looses positions at the start and is now P11.

Pierre gets told to let Max pass

Pierre is running P4.

Pierre loses 12 places in his pit stop. This is where Alpha Tauri messed up Pierre’s race.

Charles locks up and loses position to Alonso and soon after to Checo.

Pierre gets told it would be one stop race. Again messing up by Alpha Tauri.

Valtteri gets a puncture resulting in a Yellow flag.

Perez was coming behind Valtteri when it happened. It could have been scary.

Vettel vs Pierre for P10. 

Yuki overtakes Nicky nicely.

Kimi pulls a nearly contact with Nicky while overtaking him.

Perez and Ocon fighting. Lasted one lap after which Perez wins.

McLaren pits Lando from P4 to avoid a puncture like Valtteri’s.

Valtteri retires from the Race.

Alonso told not to go on the curbs and make his tire last.

Now George gets a puncture. Brief yellow flag. 

Nicky gets a puncture too in the next lap or so. Yellow shown briefly again.

Puncture count for this weekend is 4. Could have been 5 if they had not pitted Lando.

Latifi retires. He pulls up on a side of the track.

Virtual safety car introduced to get Nicky’s car out of the track.

Max gets a third pit stop during the virtual safety car with only two laps to go.

Lewis asks if they are boxing again. Bono tells him that only a lap is left.

Alpha Tauri messed up Pierre’s race and their championshio for P5.

116 overtakes for Alonso this season. Sebastian and Kimi have 115each.

Lewis wins the race. Max is P2 and Alonso is P3. This is Alonso’s first podium after 9 years.

Max gets the fastest lap of the day.

Fernando Alonso is the driver of the day.

Daniel had to drive slowly to save his fuel.

Double points for Aston Martin as both Lance and Vettel get into the points. They scored 9 points.

Ferrari increases their lead over McLaren. its a 39.5 lead. 

With that podium for Alonso and Esteban’s P5 Alpine scores 25 points today. taking a 25 point lead Alpha Tauri who were out of points today. A major mess up by Alpha Tauri.

The gap between Max and Lewis now is 8 points.

Mercedes are 5 points ahead of Red Bull in constructor’s championship.

Lando manages to hold on to P5 but Charles didn’t fall behind either. He is only 1 point behind Lando.

Carlos is 7.5 behind Lando and 6.5 behind Charles. Anyone from these 3 can take the P5 in the driver’s championship.

Both Pierre and Daniel ends out of the points. Fight for P8 between them is still on. The gap is still 13 points.

3. Is there a driver you like less now than you did at the beginning of the season?

At the risk of upsetting all my favourite Fernando Fuckers, uh ... Fernando. I don't dislike him by any stretch, but that one glorious moment at the end of last year when Alpine were so functional and sexy because of teamwork? Yeah, that was nice. Hugs that lift you up in parc fermé? Gorgeous. 'Tell Esteban to defend like a lion!' So. Hot.

It could never last. There's a reason @firemanseb has him tagged as her favourite super villain.

Well, that was a pretty darn good race! And I’m not just saying that because of one driver in particular got on the podium. ...Honest. :P

So then, congrats to the podium finishers, Lewis, Max, and Nando! Lewis kept his head down and the team responded well to Red Bull’s pitstops. Max made his way up after getting that grid penalty pretty well. And Nando! Just...Nando! Podium! This will be all I’ll think about for the next week, lemme tell ya! Yeah!

...Ahem, right. Well done to the rest of the top ten finishers, too! Checo was close to catching Nando and made so many passes this race. Like, dang. Esteban did his best to defend from Checo, “like a lion” as Nando said and, even though Checo got past, he still got Alpine some good points! Lance, Carlos, and Charles all had some battles in there, as did Lando, though he also had that late pitstop after a puncture. And finally Seb finishes up the top ten, getting a point after a real rough start, so good on him!

And good job to the rest of the race finishers as well! In order they are Pierre, Dan, Yuki, Kimi, Antonio, Mick, George, and Mazepin. Tough race for Pierre, after starting so far up, and same goes for Yuki. Tough race for Alpha Tauri in general really, especially when they looked real strong through the weekend. And George got hit with one of the multiple punctures the occurred, causing him to fall back.

Speaking of punctures, here’s hoping for more luck to those who didn’t get to see the checkered flag. Both Val and Nicholas had their races end early due to punctures, Val’s occurring earlier and having to retire after the team determined he was carrying too much damage from that and Nicholas having to pull over to the side of the track as he couldn’t make it back to the pits. Yeah, here’s hoping the track and kerbs are less rough come next race.

The next race, by the by, will be in Saudi Arabia, Jeddah specifically, in two weeks’ time. Yeah, the triple header is done and we only have two more races to go! And, dang, this championship race is kinda getting down to the wire. Max ahead in the standings, but only by 8 points. At this point, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out world champion. Pretty exciting, gotta say.
