The Apple Tree of Toxicity

In a family filled with pain and strife,

An apple tree stood tall, a symbol of life,

Its branches reached out, so filled with grace,

Promising protection and a place,

But the fruits of this tree, oh so sweet,

Hid a bitter truth, hidden beneath,

They promised knowledge and a sense of power,

But only brought emptiness and devower,

For the taste of the fruit was oh so sour,

It left a feeling of nothingness in its wake,

As though the apples were poisoned,

Leaving a hollow feeling, a wound that cannot be healed,

And yet we still reach out, hungry for more,

Searching for answers to what lies in store,

For we cannot seem to let go,

Of the knowledge that the tree has to show.

But oh, how we wish to let go,

Of the toxicity that's brought us woe,

For we cannot escape the past,

And it leaves us with a feeling of emptiness at last.

I think it's very important that everyone who has read corpse mapicc things and liked it signs a legal document saying they recognize at his core he inhuman. as much as he kills to maintain it, there is a reality that his core was never human and he can only maintain "humanity" due to being able to kill on lifesteal. I don't have the timeline fully figured out on when mapicc was created -> the first player to die near him, granting him "sentience" -> lifesteal happening but he has definitely spent more time in an animalistic state than what we see.

my father is scottish. watching this made me wish he wasn't. maybe then i could pretend that this is something that i am ok with. probably not tho - i might just be ashamed to be associated with this intellectual property through my heritage.

is it particularly offensive? *sighs* i guess not. do i remember most of the plot besides the icky feeling of both watches? nope not at all.

maybe one day i'll drink a lot of bourbon and i'll go for a hat trick so i can do a proper review. that day is not today though, and the voices are screaming for me to articulate exactly how this movie made me feel.
