Close but not a sheep. Doremy ,on the other hand, can literally create and turn into a sheep. Well... she can turn into chimera sheep to be exact but that's the closest thing to a sheep. And I can't help but enjoy watching her transform into that form. I also enjoy her transformed appearance. Her smug smile just makes it a lot better.

The plan worked well initially. Miko's part went smoothly, although she did spend rather too much time showing off her formidable strength and acrobatics. I was responsible for handing Kisume the two melons and ignoring the giggling of everyone around me, but she managed a flawless reverse-drop in spite of their immaturity.

Miko, Byakuren, Shou and Unzan manoeuvred the trampoline into position, only to end up catching Kisume’s bucket while she was whittling her Chinese repeating crossbow in order to harpoon a pheasant. It (the bucket, not the crossbow) bounced onto Mamizou, wedged itself over her back and thighs and stuck fast. Nue promptly lost her temper and slashed the tree in twain.

The three Taoists began making fun of the Buddhists, so I scolded them, which I regret to admit distracted me from the tree falling towards the Myouren Temple. I am unclear on what happened then, only that the tree ended up hurtling towards Youkai Mountain and Kyouko came down with a severe case of the hiccups. At present, Nitori and Komachi are on their way to intercept the tree, and we can only hope they succeed.

Komainus such as Aunn are one of the few youkais that humans can trust correct?

I would say so. Unlike wild yokai running around in the woods, komainu reside only at temples for sacred worship.

Their main purpose is to protect shrines from evil spirits. They are generally regarded by humans as holy creatures. Komainu only want to protect shrines and their people.

I would be very surprised to hear of a komainu posing a threat to humans.

I would be hesitant to group them in with "stereotypical yokai", due to their holy nature, but the term "yokai" in itself is a very broad, umbrella term used for multiple kinds of supernatural, non-god beings, so I suppose we must classify them as such.

So, do not fear the komainu. Instead, the next time you visit a shrine, make sure to thank their resident guardians.
