rick owens ss20 “tecuatl”

as you can tell from my page, i am somewhat obsessed with the work of rick owens. my biggest obsession however, is with their boots. whether they’re kiss heels, ballast boots, or these mega-lace army boots. i’ve been intrigued by the mega-lace and pentagram-lace boots ever since i first saw them in (i think) 2016. the intricate nature of the lacing is of course what draws me in, but what keeps me sticking around is the seemingly impossible symmetry in the lacing. below is another colourway of these wonderful boots.

i do hope rick owens decide to revisit the mega-lace or pentagram-lace, but unfortunately i can’t see that happening. they seem too focused on the sleekness of zips for them to feasibly revisit laces like the ones demonstrated above. whether they revisit them or not, i’m still happy to obsess over these.
