you know what fucks me up about most people is the fact they can't just look at any sort of pale skin and start noticing the veins and arteries.

Like, what are you doing with your life? and I know not everyone has the traits to make these things as visible but they're still fairly noticeable if you look a bit closer.

Emma Hunsinger, the author of the "how to draw a horse" comic, wrote what will probably be my favorite middle grade book of this year, called "how it all ends". it's so good!! her illustration is so expressive and hilarious, and she is a genius with page layout. she also wrote my favorite picture book of last year, "my parents won't stop talking" with her wife Tillie Walden. hugely recommend checking out both!!

there is something to be said about the narrative of keronians having to hide their presence on earth like besides the obvious plot reasons, because I like to imagine some of them (*cough cough* keroro) don't like it all that much and kinda wish they could just be out in the open without antibarrier

obviously they get seen a lot already but it is a bit sad I think that he can't just like, take off and go to the store, or even the hobby shop, like he needs fuyuki or natsumi to be there to buy it for him

you think he uses the internet a lot because it's his one way to communicate with other pekoponians without it being instantly obvious he's an alien? like he still talks about his interest but... it's with other humans (it was a housewife in that one gag I remember...)

and thinking about that comic where he got lost in town it's like, yeah he gets out of the house so little that he still doesn't know any of the streets and the whole town is new to him, isn't that kinda sad?

and with earth traditions too, like hinamatsuri or christmas or april fools (or setsubun), it seems he makes an effort to understand them and include himself in them (as in, participate and observe them), but he gets it wrong every time. and isn't that also... a bit alienating...

Uhh Matthew is here because I have been converted fully on he/him or enby lesbian Matthew I think. He lives in my brain rent free now, very gender. I'd pull his hair but also I think he mostly just deserves to have it played with nicely.

I did think about doing this chart like everyone was actually applicable to my tastes, but even if they were I think the ones I didn't put up would have to fall on the caress side bc I just don't feel that way abt them lol.

Do you ever think about the differences between our cars and planes and think about how they'd apply to cybertronian physiology?

I'm by no means an expert on anything mechanical nor engineering but I at least know the very vague basics. And by basics I don't fully mean 'well one's on the ground the other flies' stuff I mean stuff like how one's alt changes their root's armour.

Like, if you pop open the hood of a car you can through all the machinery see the ground below, and depending on the car you can see bigger or smaller gaps. Planes of all sorts are practically surrounded in outer plating, the only gaps being along servos and if you've got a jet you get that extra little intake. And tanks are all around a complete hull, and in fact kinda come in multiple hulls strapped together.

And considering that the scale relative to one another (car -> tank -> plane) it would make sense that fliers' sizes are quite similar to their alt modes, the interconnected machinery in tank joints just extend for a bigger rootmode, and civframe grounders would puff out their plating so as to not be completely tiny.

I mean I'm not an expert on vehicles but wouldn't that be pretty cool?
