hmmm okay the thing is i dont know that much about dentistry so im probably missing nuances to things. its at least pretty cool how there's such specific tools to manage our teeth/surrounding structures. i'll be honest being on the receiving end of dental work isn't particularly pleasant to me lmaoo but theres something to be said for how x-ray/scanning technology can create perfect maps of your mouth/skull so precise work can be done by the dentist... and of course as we all know, surgery is sex, so once we move into root canal territory etc i mean i think its self explanatory

I think the term techbro kinda lost its original meaning. It used to mean assholes who worked in tech, who is in for the money and claims that tech can solve all of humanity s problems. But now it has been regarded to an insult for anyone who who has an interest in tech and has an opinion they dont agree with

i fucking hate windows’ thing where if a program isn’t responding you have to pull up the task manager (where it will usually tell u the program isn’t responding), tell it to end the task, only to have it tell you “hey did u know this program isn’t responding? do u wanna end it?” and then despite the fact that you’ve told it to fucking end the task twice now it still insists on looking for a solution

major caveats: i work in techfuck land (like, beanbags all over the office) and i'm the only woman on the backend (gender ratios are just utterly fucked, there's 20 of us) and i'm probably not picking up on a whole lot of social stuff but i basically just wear whatever, i get a little nervous that it's too casual, but sure seems like going down to pink flannel and jeans is perfectly fine? i've not had any issues about that despite hella anxiety when i was first starting

also the thing about fashion is it was a lot more mandatory and cutthroat to keep up with and perform adequately 25 or 30 years ago, the stakes just aren’t that high now, and i’m honestly not sure how much of that is (1) i was young and nervous back in the day and since then have gotten old enough to have perspective/to run out of fucks vs (2) the rules legitimately softened from “here is this year’s jeans cut, hem length, silhouette, color palette, and it accessory, now go forth and conform to the utmost of your ability or prepare to experience social death” to “here’s some particularly now fun stuff to play with, over there are all the subculture and chronology back files, mix and match and knock yourself out, also if you want to flip the script and shop the other side we’re probably not gonna facilitate it but we’re not taking out a contract on you or anything”

not to be pushing the everything gets better year by year we’re so enlightened now narrative, but some shit is better
