K, but I want to know about all the WIPs you mentioned! But I shall settle for asking about Incomplete Madrigal and Kindergarten Casita - the last one sounds absolutely adorable.

I had to actually stop myself from posting everything I have on these two wips lol I've got to chill, I don't want to post their most exciting parts and then not have enough motivation to finish them!

Okay okay okay look, let's start with

Kindergarten Casita

Somewhere in the city N there is a "magical" kindergarten Casita - according to rumors, its pupils joyfully run here in the morning, and the walls of the old building sing. Its new head, Señorita Daniela, is trying her best to justify the faint hopes of her deceased mother, the previous head of Casita, Señora Maria. The new kindergarten teacher, Señor Bruno, is trying to help her with this.

Honestly, with this title I could've imagined a couple of more obvious AUs 1. Where all the kids are of the same (or close) age, and Casita itself is like a kindergarten; 2. Where Alma is the head of a kindergarten and the triplets are teachers.

That sounds hella cute and I haven't yet encountered similar AUs but! I wasn't able to come up with plots for these AUs so that's not what Kindergarten Casita's about.

That's a really specific AU catering to me only and my love for soppy melodramas I watch with my grandma. It doesn't happen in the Encanto setting but actually somewhere else, closer to where I live and sometime more modern, circa 2000.

All the original characters are present in the story though not all of them are relatives. I actually like what I've come up with for each of them - both design-wise and personality-wise. Though, I'm writing it in my native language so it'll be a bit challenging to finish I guess

And it's a romantic comedy, of course, at least I try to make it funny and romantic lol

And here's a couple of paragraphs I really like:

Returning to her office, Daniela found a short man in front of the door, pacing back and forth with his head down and muttering to himself. His long hair hung down covering his face. Under a long green autumn jacket, he was wearing an almost ironed gray shirt that had most likely once been white, and long brown trousers, one of the legs of which almost reached the floor. He had a bulky brown messenger bag slung over his shoulder. Having rolled up the sleeves of his jacket, he nervously fiddled with the sleeve of his shirt, buttoning and then unbuttoning the cuff. Since Daniela knew all the parents of her pupils, she could say with certainty that pacing in front of her was none other than the new candidate for the vacant position of the kindergarten teacher, whom she had made an appointment with yesterday, Señor Bruno Madrigal. His appearance perfectly matched his agitated tone of voice that she had heard on the phone recently.

Incomplete Madrigal

(honestly, I fully expected this name to be already taken but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm keeping it and never letting go)

Mirabel is determined to bring Bruno and his wife back into family after seeing an almost disastrous way their guilt affects Casita on Antonio's birthday. Surely, if they get accepted back Casita won't suffer anymore. Right?

So yeah, it's an AU where Bruno has a wife but he doesn't stay in Casita and instead moves out.

This wip makes me suffer immensely - I want to make it fun and goofy but all that comes out of it seems like a weak parody of the original movie. I think I will have to try to go in a different direction, but I will not give up ☝️☝️☝️

And here's a couple of paragraphs I like:

You would think that the family of the Encanto matriarch’s only son would live right beside Casita. Maybe, it would even take a less than a minute walk to get to them. Because, you know, they are family. They need to be near to be able to help each other when in need, to visit each other and spend time at one another’s house. It would make sense to live close, right? Apparently, no. Mirabel fought every fiber of her being not to curse as she sprinted through the town’s labyrinth trying to find Bruno’s house. The villagers either didn’t want to give her any directions or their directions were misleading and she would eventually find herself in front of a wrong house. She regretted not asking Bruno or Daniela for directions yesterday before they fled Casita embarrassing her in front of everyone. They at least owed her that.

Yes. In Chapter 3 of my now-14-year-old Twilight fic “Wolf People”:

When the doors opened again at the fourth floor, Leah almost hurt to break away from the kiss. She could feel her skin tingling, her lips tender and aching to be touched again. But Nanuq grabbed her arm and got off with her. This desire was too strong—even more intense than the most painful withdrawal possible. Nanuq reaffirmed: this was something real. He sealed her mouth with his lips again. If his mouth weren’t so busy, he would be screaming, “I’m alive! I’m alive!”

My Christmas fic “Nochebuena with the Madrigals” 🕯️

🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?

I wrote him a long time ago, but Nanuq from my “Wolf People” Twilight fic series is my favorite. I initially wrote him as an OC love interest for Leah Clearwater, but he came into his own. He lives in Shoreline, Washington State, where Leah is attending community college like she said she would in one of the Jacob chapters in Breaking Dawn. He is the most well-rounded character I’ve ever written, I think. He is friendly and talkative, but he has secrets of his own.

Delighted to tell you about It Takes A Village To Build A House This Fucking Enormous! (Long titles always make me laugh cause they look and sound kind of silly which is the point of my writing - to be silly)

Agustín's and Felix's families' houses are full and they can't host more people after the Casita's fall. This leaves the Madrigals with the unfortunate prospect of living with Bruno and his family in their small and creepy but fairly empty house. What a great opportunity to build a new foundation both for the family's relationships and the family's house! Let's watch how they all adjust to leaving in a cramped space together while trying and somewhat failing to manage the Encanto without their powers to help.

This fic follows immediately after Incomplete Madrigal (which is an alternative to the event of Encanto) and starts with the first day the Madrigals spend with Bruno's family in their house.

The story's idea stems from two things I had in mind:

I wanted Mirabel to get to know her relatives

My family's pretty big and since we live in different countries we don't really interact for years and hearing my closest family discussing things and gossiping about the relatives I know nothing about is pretty fun especially when some of the facts and relations come together in my mind. I wanted to convey this feeling through Mirabel since we had a bit of that in the original movie when Madrigals (and the village) were 'not talking' about Bruno (I imagine people simply didn't talk about him in front of the kids).

2. Encanto is pretty big and a process involving a lot of people has infinite comedic potential

I refuse to believe that the Encanto is easy to manage and I loved the bits in your Encanto fics where Alma and other Madrigals had to deal with annoying or plainly awful villagers. Kinda wish Alma could banish any villager she doesn't vibe with like in Animal Crossing;

I want to see the chaos that the rebuilding of Casita might've been. I want to see all the complications of building a huge house without the magic people got pretty much used to and without the factories providing them with the building materials. I mean, would they have to make a distinct kind of roof tiles for Casita?? Imagine the amount of roof tiles that is and what if they would have to remake them all if something in them doesn't 'feel like Casita'.

And I want to see some funny misunderstandings and mistakes that could set them farther from finishing the rebuilding (like making a completely wrong shade of paint or running out of bricks idk, I'd have to do a more proper research).

It's gonna be basically a sitcom-like thing with some family bonding. I hope haha

I haven't really written much but here's the piece I like:

"For the last time, please, go to bed," Daniela asked someone and deeply sighed. Then Bruno heard someone quietly, but assertively protesting. "I understand you, but you are guests here. And guests in this house should be asleep at 4 in the morning," Daniela pressed. "I will make breakfast. Go rest, please," he almost didn't catch the last few words as Daniela went into the kitchen. Someone weakly argued back and then shuffled towards the workshop, where Bruno resided. "Bruno, good morning. Please, tell your wife to let me cook for the family," Julieta’s sharp voice made him wake up completely. He saw his sister appear in the doorway, hands on her hips, staring at him with irritation. That was unusual, but he gave up comparing the past to the present at this point.
