Episode five is really delightful because we all knew something was going on. The writers were clearly aware that their audience was going to hear "The Vampire Armand" and immediately think something like "yes i recall him from the superprison of the multiverse's greatest villains in lego batman." So it was funny that Armand was so smug and precise about exactly how much longer he'd been with Louis than Louis had been with Lestat but now it's hilarious and weirdly poignant. we saw you armand!!! we saw your face when you finally heard lestat say i love you, intending it for your recently briquetted boyfriend. it's so satisfying.

#this is like the opposite of those stupid subvert audience expectations twists that rely on the fact that you cannot predict incoherent #nonsense #armand would be a great lego batman villain imagine his little lego #tears and little lego goblin fists #but we all knew something like this was coming #that didn't stop it from feeling fresh and exciting in the execution #or perhaps i'm just infatuated. but i think they did a good job!#press says iwtv #interview with the vampire
