Hey you! Fandom writer! Just wanted to make sure that when you masturbatorily victimize your favourite character you don't do it at the expense of the rest of the cast's characterization! Because thats a fucking annoying thing to do and it just shows everyone that you wouldn't recognize nuance if i hit you over the head with it!!
#like dont get me wrong im a huge fan of masturbatoringly victimizing my favourite characters!! but some of yall just cant do it right.#forever haunted by the way the house md fandom treated cuddy and houses relationship#also i read a very annoying mp100 fic yesterday...#it was a typical teru gets kidnaped by claw and later becomes a scar fic and then#he just fucking kills all the other scars on his way out indiscriminately for being ''bad'' people#and then a few sentences later he has breakdowns over being a '''bad''' person#who did horrible things for claw and just. bestie.#why did he have to kill all the other characters who went through the exact same thing as him. what makes him better than them.#why does he deserve to live and everyone else doesn't.#tearing my hair out even thinking about it like wow okay we get it. teru is your favourite ok. good for you.#guess that makes everyone elses lives worthless.#another example of this that comes to mind is a tua fic i had stumbled upon that was like#five forces klaus to lock himself in the mausoleum for no reason. just because he is cruel or as a bet or whtvrr and klaus has a breakdown#because obviously five doesnt know anything about ptsd. obviously.#anyway hate over.#Al's ramblings#also hunter is there because he is literally me attacking you with my opinions unprompted

Two Little Lines Pt. 2
More babies!! WOW I’M SORRY I DIDNT MEAN TO MAKE A WHOLE ASS FIC OUT OF FUKATUCHI.
Er, warning? Implied alcoholism in Semi’s.
Terushima;
To say that you and Terushima lived a perfect life together would be an outright lie.
Sure, the two of you had been together since your guys’ third year of high school and you have always found a way to make the relationship work.
But you were so tired.
So tired of acting more like his mother than his girlfriend of the last four years. He hardly helped around the apartment, never cooked a meal, and if he was home and not passed out, he’d ditch you to go hang out with his friends.
It just didn’t feel like a relationship anymore; it felt like you were roommates who slept in the same bed.
And Terushima Yūji was entirely oblivious to the fact.
To say that it broke your heart would be an understatement.
But even so, you held onto the hope that you and Teru would make this all work and everything would go back to the way it used to be.
Hope in the form of crying out the anguish in your soul every night as you went to bed.
You ain’t slick though, but Terushima just doesn’t know what to do—
he’s terrified to confront you about this because what if you finally realize that he’s really just a piece of shit and you should have left years ago?
I love Terushima but lowkey I feel like he’s toxic 💀
But he tries—tries in the form of actually talking about topics that have real substance for the first time in months.
It actually goes rather well!
Too well.
It was nice to have your boyfriend back, even if temporarily.
To have human, physical contact with him was needed.
But also landed you in your current predicament—sitting on your bathroom floor, waiting for the results of the pregnancy test you felt you needed to buy earlier.
You were tired—way more than usual lately. The morning sickness, however, was what prompted you.
It was currently 2am. Yūji would be home soon from wherever he decided to go to, and the timer on your phone goes off signaling for you to check.
Not that you needed nor wanted the confirmation, but the two little lines were the nail in the coffin.
Lmaofuck.
“[name]?” Terushima calls out from the hallway. He must’ve noticed you weren’t in bed despite the late hour.
Hearing his voice brought tears to your eyes and you wished you could lie and say they were from joy.
The sobs are what captures his attention, prompting him to barge into the bathroom. “Babe? What’s wrong?”
You don’t say anything; you’re afraid you’ll say everything you’d been harboring inside for years. Instead, you point to the pregnancy test with a shaky finger.
“Wha—oh. Oh!” Aside from the three syllables that left his lips, he had no idea what else to say.
Because he knows.
Terushima knows that things haven’t been going all that great and the both of you just loved each other too much to let the other go.
“I don’t know what to do, Yūji.” Your voice is devoid of all emotion, reflecting the emptiness you’d been feeling for so long.
“The choice is yours, always. But...” Terushima comes to sit with you on the tiled floor, tugging at your cheek so that you can look at him. “This is my sign, I guess, that I have to be better. We aren’t kids anymore, shit we could be having a kid—I can’t just do whatever the hell I want.”
“You shouldn’t have been in the first place,” you seeth, “Yūji, we’ve been in a partnership since high school.”
“And you’ve been carrying the team.” At least he acknowledges it. “Now you’re literally carrying the team.”
“Dude,” you smack his arm lightly, not missing his joke. “Be serious.”
“I am. I mean it. I don’t want to lose you, [name], so I’m going to try. I want to be better for you, for both of you.”
Semi;
Was Semi Eita perfect? No.
Did you need him to be perfect? Also no.
But for the last three years, there had always been some kind of disconnect between you two regarding what you wanted for the future.
You both were incredibly supportive of each other’s respective paths—shit, you were Semi’s biggest fan when it came to his music.
But considering he often had to travel, he just couldn’t see eye to eye with you and your need for stable roots.
What was the point of spending money on a house when your two bedroom apartment suited you just fine?
He did concede to the two of you getting a dog, so that was nice at least.
But above all, you wanted to be a family. Married, kids, a yard—the whole package. He knew this, but always had an excuse.
“My career is just taking off. If we get married, I don’t want to abandon either of you—I want to be able to dedicate the proper time to both of you.” Okay, fair.
“We don’t have enough saved for a house yet.” Also fair.
“Being a parent is a full time job.” He had valid points to everything, but that did little to quell your desires.
But for Semi, you were willing to make some sacrifices.
Kinda.
However, Semi doesn’t notice the subtle changes that have come from you.
You’re working more, home less, and if you were home, you’d already have had dinner and hanging out in the bathtub while chugging a bottle of wine.
At first, Eita just thinks that you’ve had a rough day at work or something and he gives you your space.
But one bottle turns into four, and he’s had to carry you out of the tub more than once or twice.
“Babe, talk to me. What’s wrong?” Semi had left work early one day just to make sure he caught you before you started your evening ritual.
“Nothing’s wrong, Eita!” But he could hear the forced optimism along with the way your grin didn’t make your cheekbones close your eyes at the corner like they always did.
“[name], please. Don’t shut me out.” Have you ever heard Semi Eita beg? No? That’s cause it never happens.
“I swear, I’m fine! Just had—“
“A hard day at work, I know. I don’t doubt that but you’re avoiding me, babe. Just tell me what’s going on.”
You don’t know how to answer without being selfish. You know what Semi wants out of life and you had comes to terms with it. So why couldn’t you just let it go?
“I-I just...need time. To come to terms with the fact that we want different things in life.” If Semi was a crier, he would have right then and there. Watching the air leave your lungs in broken bubbles coming up as hiccups as you cried broke his heart.
“Do we? I just want you.”
For the first time in months, you didn’t pick up a bottle. After having dinner together, you finally got to be in the comfort of your loving, life partner.
Fast forward to present day—two months later you still indulge yourself in one glass of wine but no more bottles in the bathtub.
Semi’s thankful af for that 💀 even it wasn’t the ideal recovery
But he notices you’ve been waking up in the middle of the night to go throw up, and he’s starting to wonder if there were days you were sneaking them in.
“Eita, I swear I stopped doing that.” He’s giving you benefit of the doubt, trying to come up with other potential culprits.
There were days when you would PMS bad enough to make you sick.
But never for more than a few days—you were entering week 2.
“I’m calling the doctor,” he declares after you’d hurled for the third time that day. When he sees your hesitance, he adds, “I don’t think this is normal withdrawal. You never quit cold turkey, so I just wanna make sure you’re safe.”
Semi Eita’s intuition is both a blessing and a curse.
Blessing, in the sense that he was 100% right in regards to you needing to see a doctor.
Curse, because the two of you found out that you were pregnant. And while the two of you were doing much better than you were a few months ago, the “talk” about your future had never resurfaced.
“So, what are we going to do, Eita?”
“Well, I suppose I’ll have to consolidate my studio to make room for a nursery and I’ll probably have to start working from home part time at least to help you out—“
“Wait, what?” Why did he make it sound like you were keeping the baby?
“Well I’m not gonna leave you to do this alone, [name]. It’s my kid too.”
“Semi-Semi, you don’t want kids.”
“Yeah, but I want you.” He sounds so sure, so confident, that you aren’t even sure if the man beside you is really your boyfriend. “And by association, that includes our baby.”
Futakuchi;
Oh my god.
Why—or rather how in the fuck did this happen to you?
Well, you know how it happened. You did have sex education when you were in high school, after all.
But you and Fukatuchi always used condoms—there was no room for negotiation on that.
Part of you wishes you would have broken off this hook up arrangement a long time ago
But you know you’re lying to yourself because the two of you just meshed so well.
Almost like a real couple, but you knew that a relationship was the last thing he wanted.
And now, you sat on your bathroom floor with your head buried on your knees after throwing the pregnancy test that revealed two little lines of positivity.
Well, fuck.
You start dodging his 2am calls, passing it off as you had a paper or a lab that you desperately needing to finish.
Kenji isn’t buying it. He knows you’re always on top of your schoolwork.
“Why are you avoiding me?” Comes a text in broad daylight—something comepletely atypical of Futakuchi.
Avoiding turns into ignoring as you’re almost three months pregnant.
To which he calls out with another text send before booty call hours. “Alright, this is getting ridiculous. Whoever you’re fucking now can’t be better than me. Just answer me and I’ll prove it.”
Blocked.
Another weak goes by and, surprisingly, your pregnancy has been relatively smooth. Even if it did suck going through it alone.
A part of you missed Futakuchi. Not that you’d ever tell him that. But you tried to tell yourself you missed the D and nothing else.
But you missed the way he’d hold you overnight, occasionally brushing hair out of your face almost endearingly. You missed the warmth, the lust fueled kisses that you swore were almost loving.
Only to remember he was always gone before you woke up. He was only a booty call, and you had to remind yourself of that.
So why the fuck was he at your doorstep in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday?
“Why the fuck did you block me?” He snarls, barreling his way into your apartment. You were so thankful that you were wearing an oversized hoodie and that you weren’t showing that much yet. .
“Dude, get out. Obviously, I blocked you for a reason.”
“Oh no, you don’t get to get out of this so easily. You would have told me if you started seeing someone else—“ his wording slips, he knows it, but Futakuchi can’t bring himself to fix the statement.
“We weren’t seeing each other in the first place!” The words sting him like rubbing alcohol on a fresh wound.
You try to usher him out of the apartment but, thanks to you being 16 weeks along and much weaker than him, your efforts are futile.
“You’re so cute when you play hard to get.” He retorts, wrapping his arms around your waist and picking you off the ground to carry you both out of the door way.
But as soon as he does, you’re immediately prying yourself away—fearful that he can feel your hardening belly. Fighting him off, however, seemed to make him squeeze harder. “Kenji, let me go! Fuck!”
He notices the use of his first name. He notices the flailing. But most of all, he noticed that your body felt different, even underneath the plush cloth of your hoodie.
He lets you go, unceremoniously dropping you into the ground out of shock because he finally is putting the pieces together. “You’re pregnant?”
“Get out, Kenji.”
“So you didn’t wanna see me because you’re pregnant? I’m sorry, I don’t quite understand the logic here,” his tone is snarky, painted with a vicious bite, “unless you were hooking up with someone else at the same time is me, there was no reason for you to keep this from me.”
But he knew that you weren’t. He knew by the way you’d clutch at his chest lovingly after sex that part of you longed for a real relationship with him.
And by the way it took everything in him to not stay through the morning, Kenji knew that somewhere along the lines, he wanted it too.
And he planned on telling you the last time he called, just before you started avoiding him.
“There was only you.” You answer quietly to the implied question.
“So, it’s mine.” He states bluntly. Losing your voice, you only nod. “You know,” he starts again slowly after you’ve both nodded off to a silent lull, “I started texting you in the middle of the day because I didn’t want you to think it was just about sex anymore.”
“What do you mean?”
“I actually wanted to give us a try, but I wasn’t sure if you’d break things off if you didn’t want to move forward, and I didn’t wanna risk finding out.”
“And now, instead, you’re finding out that you’re going to be a dad.”

Phantom Thief Hanako-kun AU Story: Chapter 9- Falling For You
I finally got to this part. This will be interesting.
Comments are appreciated! Thank you guys for reading. Enjoy!
---
-Recap time!
-Previously, Yashiro, Kou, and Teru look for Mitsuba due to Kou worrying for him
-They found him safe and sound with Hanako who was disguised as Hana at the time
-Mitsuba's conversation with Hanako revealed a secret
-While Yashiro and Hanako decided to continue the deal they made, they both started feeling something for one another
-What will happen?
-Yashiro was still looking into Yako's case of Missing Misaki
-Yakoo and Satou were now reported as missing since there was no contact with them so far
-Other people seem to have been disappearing too and it was concerning
-As Yashiro was looking through the files at Tsuchigomori's detective agency one day
-Tsuchigomori suddenly told her that she was off the case
-Yashiro: "What?? Why?! Tsuchigomori-sensei! I can do this! I may not have found much so far but I haven't given up!"
-Tsuchigomori: "I know that. I've granted you permission but Yako-san had told me that there is a police detective who volunteered to help her out. I don't know much of the details but the detective was just recently discharged from the hospital. Since they're a professional, Yako-san put them in charge so I'm afraid you don't have much of a say. You're still an apprentice, Yashiro-san."
-Yashiro was not pleased.
-Yashiro: "Can't I still do something about the case though?"
-Tsuchigomori: "They will be coming here in a few days to pick up the case files so perhaps you could speak with them."
-Yashiro: "Alright!"
-The door to the agency opened at this moment
-Yashiro turned her head from Tsuchigomori to see her best friend Aoi coming in
-Aoi would come by the agency once in a while to check up on Yashiro
-Yashiro: "Aoi!"
-Aoi: "Nene-chan, I'm here to visit~! How are you doing?"
-Yashiro: "I've been pretty busy. Actually, this is perfect timing. I've been meaning to talk with you about something. Let's go grab a drink!"
-Aoi: "Oh?"
-Yashiro: "See you, Tsuchigomori-sensei!"
-Tsuchigomori did a nonchalant wave as they left the agency
-Yashiro and Aoi both went to a cafe outside to chat with each other
-Yashiro told Aoi what was troubling her and how she had been feeling lately
-Aoi: "You know what I think? You've definitely got a crush on Hanako~"
-Yashiro spat out her drink, choking a bit
-Yashiro: "WHAT?!"
-Yashiro's yell attracted attention from people around her and she quickly looked around and lowered her voice
-The people went back to minding their own business
-Yashiro: "How did you know I was talking about him? I didn't even mention his name."
-Aoi: "Who else have you been in contact with who has those traits and level of charisma? Nene-chan, I know you."
-Yashiro: "Indeed. You know me so well, Aoi"
-Yashiro put her head against the table as she internally cried
-Aoi: "Don't worry~ I'll keep it a secret ♡"
-Yashiro: "Aoi....it doesn't make any sense. He's not even my type."
-Aoi: "Hm that's true. But why not try confessing to him and see how that goes?"
-Yashiro flustered at her words
-Yashiro: "W-wait Aoi! You know what you're saying, right? I mean, he's a criminal."
-Aoi: "You don't have much experience with guys anyways. You always get fooled by a pretty face. I think it'll be good for you."
-Yashiro felt like she was getting stabbed in the heart by Aoi's words. She was spot on.
-Yashiro: [sweatdrops] "Eah well you're not wrong...I wonder if it's too soon though"
-Aoi: "Grab the chance when you can, Nene-chan!"
-And with that, they started talking about other topics and catching up
-Akane was still as usual attempting to confess to Aoi
-The topic of missing people came up in their conversation
-Akane mentioned to Aoi that he hasn't been hearing from Yamabuki-kun lately
-He actually insisted on coming with Aoi to the agency since he was worried something might happen
-Yashiro: "Eh? So, where is Akane-kun?"
-Aoi: "I put him to sleep~"
-Yashiro: "You what now, Aoi?!"
-Aoi: "It's okay. I'll be back to see him before he wakes up. Hanako's escape tactics are pretty useful~"
-Yashiro: [sweatdrops] "Aoi...."
-They finished up their conversations and drinks and headed off to their homes around sunset
-Yashiro was expecting Hanako tonight since a pink Mokke came earlier in the day
-She waited in her apartment until his arrival
-A knock at the window and Yashiro opened it up for Hanako
-Yashiro: [smiles] "You came."
-Hanako: [smiles] "Of course I did."
-Hanako hopped inside but he didn't sit down
-Hanako: "Hey detective, how about we do something different today?"
-Yashiro: "Different?"
-Hanako: "Let's go out."
-Yashiro fought her blush down as she realized he meant to go somewhere else
-Yashiro: "But isn't it pretty late to be going out?"
-Hanako: "Don't worry. I'm with you. And if anything happens, I'll protect you."
-Yashiro's blush surfaced from those words
-Yashiro: "Okay, let me get dressed first."
-Hanako waited down at the bottom of the apartment
-Yashiro finally came out and went to Hanako
-Yashiro: "Sorry to make you wait!"
-When Hanako turned to face her, the first thing he noticed was her hair
-Hanako: "You let your hair down"
-Yashiro: "You did mention it before. So where are we going?"
-Hanako: "I'll take you there. Follow me."
-Hanako took her hand and they started walking
-It took a while before they reached their destination
-The silence didn't bother each other though
-Rather, they felt comfortable in each other's company
-Hanako and Yashiro were now at the rooftop of a building, staring up at the night sky
-There wasn't really anyone around at this time
-Yashiro: "Wow, the stars are so pretty tonight."
-Hanako: "They really are huh."
-Yashiro: "Why this place?"
-Hanako: "You can see the stars clearly from here."
-Yashiro: "You've been here before?"
-Hanako: "Yeah, I held a heist here in the past."
-Yashiro: "Really?"
-Hanako: "Yep. I guess at the time, you weren't an apprentice yet. Detective Tsuchigomori was also at the heist. Good times~"
-Yashiro: "It sounds like you know Tsuchigomori-sensei."
-Hanako: "Haha I didn't mention it before but we had our own little conversations."
-A pause
-Hanako: "Hey detective."
-Yashiro: "Hm?"
-Hanako: "You're not seriously falling in love with me, are you?"
-Yashiro:
-Hanako: "I'm just recalling one of my conversations with the great detective. He told me once that if I kept up my behavior and actions, I may make someone seriously fall for me and hurt them, which is ironic since I'm a gentleman thief haha. Well you can forget that question--"
-Yashiro: "And what if that happened?"
-Yashiro couldn't keep her mouth shut
-Yashiro: "What if I really did fall in love with you?"
-Hanako's eyes widened in shock
-At first, his chest was filled with happy delight but dread quickly took over his body when his mind registered Yashiro's words
-Hanako: "...You're kidding."
-Yashiro: "I'm not! I think to Hanako-kun, I actually lo--"
-Hanako suddenly grabbed Yashiro by the waist and lifted her against his side
-Hanako: "A phantom thief and detective cannot be together. Not with me."
-Hanako started walking along the roof edge with Yashiro, the wind blowing in their direction
-Yashiro: "AHHH I'M GONNA FALL! I'M GONNA FALL!"
-Hanako: "Let the breeze calm you down. I'll let you down if you take back your words."
-Yashiro: "I won't! You said that you would protect me just earlier!"
-Hanako: "I did but--"
-Yashiro: "Is there a reason why you won't use my real name at all? I've told you before, didn't I?"
-Hanako: "I..."
-Yashiro: "Do you not love me back? ....You never really thought that I was cute?"
-Yashiro's tears were threatening to burst
-Hanako felt overwhelmed by the situation as he stared eyes wide at Yashiro's crying face
-His mind was in so much shock
-He accidentally let go of Yashiro
-And Yashiro
-She was falling
-Off the building
-A moment later, Hanako screamed in horror when he realized what he did
-Hanako: "YASHIRO!"
-He dived after her
-Yashiro was currently feeling like an idiot as she was falling
-She thought she got ahead of herself and confessed without thinking
-Hanako: "YASHIRO! GRAB MY HAND!"
-Yashiro snapped out of her thoughts to see Hanako reaching his hand towards her
-She was pissed that he decided to finally use her name after she called him out on it
-At this critical moment, she decided to be stubborn
-Yashiro: "NO! DON'T TOUCH ME!"
-Hanako: "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?!"
-Yashiro: "YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE ME SO DON'T TOUCH ME!"
-Hanako was running out of time. They were about to hit the ground.
-Hanako: "LOOK! I'LL PROMISE NOT TO TOUCH YOU AGAIN SO PLEASE FOR THIS TIME LET ME SAVE YOU!"
-Yashiro widened her eyes as she reached her hand up for him to grab on
-Hanako held Yashiro as they floated down safely using his fancy garment as a parchute
-They stayed in each other's arms once they were on the ground, Yashiro burying her face in Hanako's shoulder
-It really wasn't fair
---
-Mitsuba had returned to his apartment earlier that evening
-When he opened the door, he wasn't expecting Tsukasa to be hanging out in his room
-Mitsuba: "What?! What are you doing here?"
-Tsukasa: "Now now don't be like that, Mitsuba~"
-Mitsuba: "I don't have any photos for you. Wouldn't you rather hang out elsewhere like the news department or something?"
-Tsukasa: "Sakura and the other guy aren't there right now. I don't feel like sneaking in. Besides"
-Tsukasa peered over at Mitsuba with his eyes that seemed to be an endless void
-Tsukasa: "I know what you've been doing, Mitsuba"
-Mitsuba felt complete dread and terror
-How did Tsukasa know?! He left his phone off for a reason!
-He thought he wouldn't get tracked that way!
-Unless
-Mitsuba touched his hair clip
-There could be a tracker in his hair clip
-Mitsuba felt like he was sweating his life away
-He was a fool to think he could get away from Tsukasa
-Tsukasa may have been spying on him
-Tsukasa: "You know..."
-Mitsuba snapped out of his thoughts to look at Tsukasa. To what he's holding in his hands
-Tsukasa was holding pictures of Kou that Mitsuba had taken before
-Tsukasa: "I noticed that this guy's important to you and he cares for you. Hey...what if he could experience what it's like to be dying?"
-Mitsuba flinched
-Mitsuba: "DON'T TOUCH THOSE!"
-Tsukasa stared him down
-Mitsuba: ".....please"
-Tsukasa grinned
-Tsukasa: "Don't worry Mitsuba! I like you! So that's why I got someone to make sure you stay safe!"
-Mitsuba: "What?"
-A person appeared behind Tsukasa
-Tsukasa: "Meet Shijima Mei! She's a police detective!"

Thank You, Next (beta)
"I think... I think we should break up."
The unthinkable spills out of Teru's mouth. Mob blinks at him.
“... Yes. I think we should.”
(a bunch of disorganized snippets from my very ambitious TeruMob fic)
(that probably will never be written)
"I still love you. I don't think I can ever stop loving you. But... We weren't making each other happy. I mean, it was fairly obvious from the start. What did we have in common? Apart from being psychic. And you taught me that being psychic doesn’t mean much. I guess... I guess I didn't really learn even after all that..."
"Do you have something in common with Edano?"
"We have the same taste in bands. And we're both rough around the edges. He is unfailingly rude."
"Oh. You do have a lot in common then."
Teru snorts. "How are things with Emi?"
"She submitted a new short story in a magazine! ... I forgot which though..."
"That's okay. I can ask her. I'd love to read it later."
"I've learned a lot of cool new words. Like, pulchritude."
"Oh? What does that mean?"
"It's a fancy way of saying beautiful."
Teruki laughs. And it's like they're fifteen again. They're walking home from their first day of high school. Mob always liked that he could make him laugh like that.
But the laughter fades. Teruki's right, of course. They hadn't been happy. They can only smile easy now because they've reset. This new, post-boyfriend relationship brought them back to those first days of being friends, when there was no world to save and no identity crisis to solve. Mob loves Teruki the same way he loves Tsubomi, still and always. But he grew away from both, and that just happens.
"You're dating Edano? Seriously? Talk about a step down!"
"Excuse you, little brother! You did not just diss my boyfriend. I happen to like him very much. And yes, he's not Shigeo. But that was kind of the point? Your brother and I didn't work out! So I found someone different than him and we do match, quite a bit actually. He's a good boyfriend and I'd appreciate it if you didn't insult him. You were raised to be kinder than that!"
Reigen blows a smoke ring at Ritsu.
"Relationships are a trial and error sorta deal. Not everyone meets their one true love at the age of 13."
"Sho's not my one true love! Not that I don't love him, I do. I mean - You know what I meant!"
"You guys have been dating for six years and still going strong."
"Uh, no? We've been dating for three."
"Right, flirted for three then dated for three. My point is, you have the kind of relationship fairy tales are about."
"He knocked me the fuck out when we first met."
"Yeah. Like a fairy tale."
"Have you read a fairy tale in your entire life?"
"Whatever! I'm just saying! You're a lucky kid!"
"I don't - I have - I'm sorry!"
"What? No! Please. The last time I dated a girl, I was thirteen and a brat. I touched a boob like once. I hadn't been looking forward to being clueless down there. Not that vaginas are like super difficult to figure out or anything. I just, you know, I have more experiences with penises. I mean-"
"Oh gosh! I get it! Stop, you dork! Too much information!"
Teru laughs and flops down on the bed, taking her with him. "You are a stunningly beautiful woman, did you know that?"
Rei squeals, landing on his chest. She flicks him on the nose. "I did actually! But you're just saying that to make me blush!"
"I wanna see if I can get your face to match your hair."
Rei has to kiss him then or else he'd never shut up.
“I still can’t believe you’re dating Momo-chan.” “You know he hates it when you call him that.”
“Hence, why I persist in doing so.”
“Also, we broke up.”
“Oh. Shit. Sorry.”
“It was never serious. He was already half in love with someone else. I was just a stand in.”
“That’s... Okay, wow. What a dick.”
“I knew - or I was... aware. It was fun while it lasted. And besides... He was a stand in for me too.”
Mob goes silent. His gaze seems very intent on his coffee. Teru watches the tips of his ears redden. Understanding clicks like the lock of a door.
“... Is that what’s happening here? Is this... Is this a date?”
Mob shakes his head, still refusing to look at him. “No! This is coffee. Just coffee.”
“Good. Because I... The thing is... Why did you tell me that?” Teru leans back in his chair, fingers combing through his hair. He looks up at the ceiling. “I love you still. I do. But this - we can’t be happening. Not... Not right now.”
Mob lifts his head and looks at Teru. “Now?
"She might be open to me seeing you. But if she's not... I don't want to break up with Rei. Not even for you, Shigeo. I'm sorry... We can't... This isn't..."
Teru hastily gets up and leaves the table.
"Clairvoyant... I... I try not to look into the future. Especially not the futures of those close to me. All it's ever caused is grief. And I guess... This was no different. You love him - Ritsu-kun's brother."
"That doesn't make me love you any less!"
"... Oh, Teru... Maybe not now. But in the future."
"The future isn't here!"
"But it will be! You don't want to hurt me, I get that. Except staying with me out of pity? That's just as bad. Belt up, and just end this."
"I don't want to? I'm not going to leave you."
"... Then I will."
Teru swallows. His eyes blink rapidly. He breathes in deep. "You know... Shigeo once taught me that our powers aren't the end all, be all. That we can grow to be more and not have to rely on any of it. ... I just assumed you thought the same. But I guess I was wrong."
"My predictions always come true! And you know what, I'm glad I looked! So I wouldn't be blindsided when it finally happens! And you break my heart!"
"So you're not even going to fight for us? This is it? Rei... Goddamn, I really thought I knew you."
Teru leaves the apartment.
"I... am a homewrecker."
"Wow. Wooooow, big brother. Didn't know you had it in you! I'm so proud!"
"Sho. Go sit in the corner."
"That's fair. That's totally fair."
"This - You and Me - This! Ugh! I don't want to prove her right! Okay? So can you just - Could you like - Stop being so you! It's driving me crazy!"
Teruki grabs Mob's face and kisses him hard on the lips. He pulls back.
"Right. I just need to get that out of my system. I am now walking away. I know that's mixed signals but let me have this!"
"I want me and Mob to be my choice! And I feel like - fucking hell..."
Teru takes a swig of his beer. Reigen watches him.
"It's so weird that I can now drink with you boys."
"That's what happens when you get old, old man."
"Yeah, yeah..." Reigen takes a sip of his beer. A pause. "You know, you still can. It's still your choice. The reason you broke up isn't because you were predetermined at birth to end up with Mob. But because she made a decision and that was to give up on your relationship. Are you listening?"
Teru nods. A beat. Tears start running down his cheeks. "I love her... I really do... I chose her. Why didn't she - Why couldn't she -?"
Reigen drags Teru closer to him, letting Teru cry on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, kiddo... I'm so sorry..."
"I think Ritsu's building a harem."
"... You wanna talk to him about it?"
"Hell no. I'm proud."
"All that drama! And here we are again! How can we be so stupid?"
"I don't think people are meant to be smart."
Teru laughs. He laughs until he cries. He brings Mob's hands to his lips, kissing the knuckles gently.
