I am really happy that we ended up with our design in our first challenge as a team! In just one hour we were to design our battle banner or flag of our team, which we will carry about in the next few days! We manage to put our minds to it, generating the core idea-i suggested a lion with two bears(as I was the only Singaporean in the teham and Yes to a lion again! Xd). We came up with drafts and went with Julia's one, once composition was set the three of us meld into one singular style, which looks professional yet could be finished in an hour. The important point is :as a team you have to understand your members strengths and how best to implement them together with yours, instead of insisting on one's own styles or ways to do things. The event and competition is finally over! Need your help and support for our team artwork of sleepless nights(3hrs average rest daily)- done in less than 8 total hours with my team Triple X aka XXX with Julia Yellow Illustration, 1984 ART Studio Julia and Xie Xian. Our artwork 'My Fantasy Journey' illustrates our 5-day Taiwan experiences, feeling and perspective from different artists and styles coming together as One, organised by none other than pen tablet giant, Wacom. Our ambitious vision was to create an Artwork that showcases the multi facets of digital art today- drawing, graphical, illustration, digital painting, concept art and production/matte painting All in one. This was the 45 mins(shared time) artwork 3 of us put together at the excruciatingly stressful live public event at the town square at GAOSHIUNG 高雄。 I led the charge as the team leader, feeling shy and under stress as the only Singaporean in the team, my face felt like it was so hot it could explode anytime. We only had a short discussion on what we wanted to do, and it was the second time we teamed to create something. Other than creating the art together in public under stares, I also had to explain to the public what this all meant in chinese(which I'm not very good at). Julia Julia Yellow Illustration and Xie Xian 1984 ART Studio went with my idea of me represented as a 'merlion' in my style, surrounded by Taiwan's embrace of culture, exuberant warmth and history. We managed to portray a fantasy creature symbolizing Singapore and Taiwan , being entwined as people meet and connect, and art speaks together as 3 styles come into one. There was this nerve wracking voting from the start to the end of the 45 mins to determine whether XXX or RGB will win. We won by a slight margin! Our honorable opponents did a good job as well. Overall our '终既魔王关' which is arguably the most difficult part of this journey challenges has passed, but now the final artwork has to be completed by tmr!
