'Dancing With the Stars' Week 4 Dance Recap: Best Lifts, Kicks, Tricks and Flips!

It was Most Memorable Year week on Dancing With the Stars, and what a memorable night it was!

From NFL pro Rashad Jennings' contemporary dance dedicated to his father to Olympic gymnast Simone Biles' heartbreaking story about adoption, the ballroom was filled with tears on Monday, thanks to the magical choreography created by the season 24 dance pros.

Now, ET's breaking down the best moments from each routine!

Normani Kordei & Val Chmerkovskiy

Most Memorable Year: 2012, when she auditioned for The X-Factor and Fifth Harmony was created. Dance highlight: Harmonizers were in for a sweet surprise when Normani kicked off the dance by singing the first verse from Shontelle's "Impossible," which her 5H bandmates later joined in on as she performed a beautiful rumba with Val. Although strong throughout the entirety of the dance, her best moment happened at the 2:50 mark, a stunning back attitude spin. Judges' score: 32/40. "You are a great dancer. My eyes are drawn to you." – Len Goodman ET's score: 35/40. #TeamValmani began week four of the competition at the top of the leaderboard, so we're not surprised the judges were harder on this team than some of the others. This routine may not have been as flawless as their performance last week, but it was still one of their bests in our opinion. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Nick Viall & Peta Murgatroyd

Most Memorable Year: 2016, when he found love with his now-fiancée, Vanessa Grimaldi, on The Bachelor. Dance highlight: Aside from those abs, we loved that Nick was really feeling the movements this time around, which was especially noticeable during the slower sections of #TeamBabyGotBach's rumba to "Shape of You." But the clear highlight was when he brought Vanessa onstage for a flirty dip, sealed with a kiss! Judges' score: 30/40. "This was your best dance. You really calmed down, it was beautiful. Keep up this work. This work was great!" – Julianne Hough ET's score: 32/40. Nick proved this week that he deserves to stay in the competition. His partnering skills were much stronger, making this the best dance he's performed yet. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Nancy Kerrigan & Artem Chigvintsev

Most Memorable Year: 2005, when she and husband Jerry Solomon welcomed a son, Brian, after undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment following six miscarriages. Dance highlight: A champion on the ice, and now a champion-in-the-making on the dance floor, the Olympic figure skater kept us entertained with a foxtrot to "My Wish" from beginning to end. Watch her and Artem's most effortless moment as a pair unfold at the 2:59 mark. Judges' score: 33/40. "This had an amazing lyricism; it had a wonderful dynamic flow all the way through." – Bruno Tonioli ET's score: 37/40. Nancy has been so graceful from week to week, but she shined extra bright on Monday, appearing to be floating on air as she sashayed across the ballroom floor. Plus, you could truly see how passionate she was about this dance, thanks to the gigantic grin she had on her face the entire time. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Mr. T & Kym Herjavec

Most Memorable Year: 1995, the year he was diagnosed with cancer (he has now been cancer-free for 22 years!). Dance highlight: So much heart, so much passion -- The A-Team star gave it his all while waltzing to a beautiful piece his partner created to "Amazing Grace." There were no crazy tricks or lifts in this routine, but like Kym said in their pre-taped interview package, the dance felt "special enough." Judges' score: 28/40. "Some people may be winning the race with high scores, but you are winning our hearts. It was gallant, it was gentile and it was full of grace." – Carrie Ann Inaba ET's score: 30/40. A major improvement from Mr. T resulted in him taking his time with the steps, and being lighter on his feet than in past weeks. Unfortunately, #TeamDancingFools was the third team to be eliminated from the competition. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Heather Morris & Maksim Chmerkovskiy/Alan Bersten

Most Memorable Year: 2015, the year she got married to Taylor Hubbell. Dance highlight: Fans got to see the former Glee star's romantic side come out in the ballroom, as she began the dance with a sweet smooch from her husband. All around, her and Alan's Cha Cha to "Shut Up and Dance" was entertaining and fun, and sharp from start to finish. Judges' score: 35/40. "Technique was so on it, girl!" – Julianne Hough ET's score: 37/40. As Maksim (who is currently out due to a calf injury) pointed out, Alan proved exactly why he deserves to be a pro next season -- and honestly, after this dance, we're thinking Heather could be one, too. Girl has got the moves DOWN! We can't wait to see what new tricks she'll wow us with next week. Celebrity/fan reaction:

David Ross & Lindsay Arnold

Most Memorable Year: 2016, when the Chicago Cubs won the World Series, and his last year playing professional baseball. Dance highlight: David sliding Lindsay across the ballroom at the 2:59 mark was a sure highlight, and luckily for her, the move was much more graceful than what a slide in baseball looks like! In addition to that memorable moment, another highlight was when he assisted her in a beautiful spin towards the end of their waltz to "Forever Young." Judges' score: 31/40. "Wonderfully dynamic. Beautiful routine!" - Bruno Tonioli ET's score: 35/40. We were a bit surprised David didn't receive a higher score from the judges. Out of all the dances #TeamLadyAndTheGramp has performed this season, we think this was one of their bests. It was clean, it was tight and no easy feat for a non-dancer. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater

Most Memorable Year: 2006, the year he realized the meaning of unconditional love. The now 32-year-old athlete pressed pause on his football dreams, moving home when he found out his father had a stroke and had to get a leg amputated due to diabetic complications. Dance highlight: It's hard to point out one specific moment from this routine, as our teary eyes were glued to #TeamShadSquad from start to finish, though, the powerful lifts at the 3:19 and 3:36 marks, symbolizing Rashad's strength, gave us extra chills. This may have been Rashad's most memorable year, but this was without a doubt Emma's most memorable choreography in her seven seasons on the show. She took it to the next level, and the entire package was impeccable. Judges' score: 39/40. "I can't even talk right now. Do you feel that? What you just did, I have no words for." – Julianne Hough ET's score: 40/40. No sense in docking the NFL pro any points here -- we think this routine deserved a perfect score! It doesn't get much better than this. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Erika Jayne & Gleb Savchenko

Most Memorable Year: 1989, when she moved to New York City to fulfill her dreams. Dance highlight: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star did Madonna proud Monday night, dancing a Cha Cha to "Express Yourself," and we can tell she was really feeling like "a queen on a throne" in that ultra-sparkly costume. Though her moves were a bit offbeat, her personality -- especially at the 2:35 mark -- made up for it. Judges' score: 30/40. "I think you played it safe up until today." – Carrie Ann Inaba ET's score: 30/40. We have to agree with the judges on this one. Although Gleb did amp up the difficulty of the choreography this week, it wasn't Erika's best dance. We felt like she wasn't really into the routine, and was hesitant with her movements. Seeing as #TeamPrettyXxpensive was in danger of elimination, they're really going to need to step it up in order to continue their journey. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Simone Biles & Sasha Farber

Most Memorable Year: 2000, when she was adopted. Dance highlight: Simone left the gymnastics tricks at home this week, and it certainly worked in her favor! For the first time, the 20-year-old athlete looked like a dancer, waltzing around to "Good Good Father" with Sasha. Each and every movement felt genuine, our favorite starting at the 2:38 mark, when she let her partner lead her into a breathtaking combo of spins. Judges' score: 36/40. "It was your best dance. Well done." – Len Goodman ET's score: 38/40. It was so refreshing to see Simone let her guard down and really use the dance to tell the emotional story she's bottled up from the public for years. If she continues to let her heart out like that on the dance floor, we have no doubt she'll stay in the competition until the end. Celebrity/fan reaction:

Bonner Bolton & Sharna Burgess

Most Memorable Year: 2016, when he suffered a near-fatal accident after being bucked off the back of a bull. Dance highlight: Week four and Sharna continues to deliver the best of the best choreography! Bonner's foxtrot to "Feeling Good" made us feel good, and inspired viewers watching at home to never give up, just as the professional bull rider said in his pre-taped interview package. While it was powerful throughout, #TeanDenimNDiamonds really kicked the routine into high gear at the 3:08 mark. Judges' score: 32/40. "I think there's a new leading man in town! When you apply yourself to it, you can do anything." - Bruno Tonioli ET's score: 36/40. Again this week, we have to be reminded that some of Bonner's movements are limited, due to the accident that almost cost him his life. That being said, we thought he deserved a higher score, especially because his skills were a major improvement from his missteps last week. Celebrity/fan reaction:

RHOBH’s Erika Girardi Puts Sexist Double Standards on Blast After Her Dancing with the Stars Routine Was Called ‘Raunchy’

Let me tell you, there is nothing like a Dancing with the Stars live show.

Gleb and I performed in the middle of the show so we split our downtime between watching the other couples perform and getting in some last-minute rehearsals. I really enjoyed watching the other couples dance and seeing the audience’s energy and feedback.

I was nervous when I stepped out on stage for our routine, but I was so excited to show everyone what we’d been working on all week. I was so happy with what Gleb had created for us. I thought it looked great and was fun and different from everyone else’s — definitely signature Erika Jayne.

Of course there are things I wish I would have done better, but I’m never happy with my performance. Right after we got backstage Gleb asked, “Where are you going?” I went straight to my phone and watched it back. Then I had to take a red-eye flight to go film Watch What Happens Live in New York and I just was watching it over and over, pulling it apart.

I totally agreed with the judges. I needed to work on the transfer of weight and balance. I knew that was happening during the performance. I could feel it.

As for the comments from head judge Len Goodman about the dance being “raunchy,” he’s totally entitled to his opinion but I didn’t feel that was the case and I’m also allowed to disagree.

I thought there was a lot of sexy in the entire lineup last week. Look at Bonner and Sharna’s routine! The crowd was going crazy for it. But that’s that’s the price you play for owning your sexuality and not being afraid and being fearless and being yourself as a woman. You’re held to a different standard and judged differently than men. But that doesn’t mean I’m stopping! That said, this week Gleb and I are dancing a foxtrot. It’s still going to be really sexy but in a very refined and fun way just because of the nature of the dance.

I’m finding the foxtrot easier than last week’s salsa. Last week, I was doing doing splits and extensions, but this week I don’t have to do any of that. It’s a far more reserved dance and it’s much slower, which means I don’t have to rush as much to keep up. I can really live in the music a bit and if I keep my frame right and my head and my feet, I should be able to pull it off.

I’m really having a great time. I wake up every day excited to go to the studio and rehearse and learn something new and continue to get better. I can’t wait for the show on Monday! I mean, every week we get to put on a different show! I’m totally into it. I feel like a little girl just having a blast getting to do the biggest show in the world!
