how would you introduce lucifer if you were a writer in the show? oh and, do you have any lucifer fic recs? <3
ooo good question...tbh i think lucifer's introduction was perfect as it was 😩 the "still in the cage, giving azazel instructions" scene in the s4 finale was excellent imo — the semi-callback to meg having to kill a truck driver to contact azazel by having azazel have to kill a bunch of nuns to contact lucifer to give lucifer a sense of scale relative to Thee Big Bad Demon of sam and dean’s lives up until a few years ago; lucifer's mouthpiece being a nun on the altar of a chapel (the absolute religiosity of that, and the connection lucifer to terrible violence as both an indirect perpetrator and a victim of violence); the GASP the nun gives when lucifer makes contact through her, like lucifer has been drowning and is finally coming up for air (i feel like there's Stuff Going On with lucifer and breathing here and elsewhere hm); the eeriniess and multiplicity of there being several voices coming from the nun's mouth as lucifer speaks...beautifully creepy and great
and then sarah!lucifer as the more direct introduction to the character in 5.01...fucking spectacular. THEE reason i'm Like This about the character lol, i could watch her all day. the tenderness, the intimacy, the sincerity of bellamy young's performance...lucifer's vicious but high-minded promises...the woman in white aesthetic that has always been such a staple for spn characters who are victims or dangerous or both...the strategic position of lucifer as someone the human character in the scene with her loves and misses...it's so insanely captivating to me.
this is not a very creative answer but genuinely i wouldn't have had it any other way
and yeah i sure do have some fic recs! this list isn't exhaustive by any means but it ended up being more than a sensible number so i'll put them under a cut <3
general warning to mind the tags on many of these...my tastes are often on the creepy end of s5 lucifer characterization, so mostly there's not a lot of torture but the situations are not always great :p
recently read Via Negationis (anactoria) 60,808 words, rated E (sam/lucifer) which really raked me over the coals in several ways that i appreciated so i'll start with that one
no particular order for the rest:
The Line Begins to Blur (Defiler_Wyrm) 2,113 words, rated T (sam/lucifer)
Stone Walls Do Not A Prison Make (FayJay) 10,363 words, rated E (lucifer/castiel)
supplicator (hellbeast) 3,468 words, not rated (gen)
the sky’s gonna break (mrsbrokenbrightside) 815 words, rated G (sam/lucifer)
dissident (orphan account) 3,662 words, not rated (gen)
The Winter In Your Dreams (Hecate) 1,344 words, rated M (sam/lucifer)
Pyrphoros (lumpy_space_princess) 14,814 words, rated M (sam/lucifer)
kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep (Lise) 4,298 words, rated M (sam/lucifer)
Love In Twelve Acts (sparxwrites) 22,378 words, rated E (sam/lucifer)
aaaand also one of my own fics because why not: love be my villain, we’re one and the same (chiaroscure) 9,814 words, rated T (sam/ruby/lucifer)

27, 23 & 15, do your worst
helloooo!
27. Least shippable character?
answered (very poorly) here!
23. Unpopular character you love?
i don't know if adam is unpopular; people seem generally to like him, as far as i can tell, but he did feel like kind of a random addition to the show back when he was introduced, and he's not one of the most popular characters so let's count him. i. love adam lol. what an exceptionally weird little guy, to have the backstory he has, and to have had the capacity to have ended up the way he ended up?? wild. he's so normal but he's SO not normal!! i took up writing about him last year kind of on a whim (the fixation on angel vessels is strong and enduring lol) and he has become easily one of my top 3 characters in spn to write. i think about him so much! strange, haunted, ordinary, sarcastic, fascinating guy <3
15. Unpopular opinion about the show?
hmm is this unpopular? idk. i don't think the sam-has-demon-blood-from-azazel plotline made sense. like...mostly none of it made solid sense. to be clear i think it was MUCH more important for him to have that as part of his backstory and characterization than for the in-show reasons behind it to make sense, but...i don't think it made sense, in the broader world of the show. but that's ok!! it means SO much to me that that is a part of him and i like watching those plotlines a lot and i would MUCH much rather have all of that than to not have it. i would like more of it, even. i think it probably could have been done in a way that would have made much more sense but i get that that wasn't necessarily their priority and i have the advantage of looking at it from an audience perspective, so.
