A new challenger has entered the Spade vs. Shovel Debate.  Introducing Team Spovel!
This is a continuation of my previous post, which featured a temporary end to the Spade vs Shovel debate.  Link follows, but be warned there are TGAA 2 Spoilers. previous comic.
Also, here’s a link (that contains spoilers) for my very first Spade vs Shovel comic: Part One and Part Two.
Image description after the Keep reading:
Image 1 is an illustration of Rei, Iris, Gina, and Maria standing in a row, facing the viewer. The scene takes place during the shovel vs. spade debate in my previous comic, and they are waiting to start work on Iris' new garden.
Rei wears steampunk-esque clothing including a yellow crop jacket, fuchsia waistcoat, and teal split-skirt.  Her hands are pressed together and she wears a vaguely concerned expression as she says, "Sorry, Susato, but it's a spade."
Beside her, Iris stares flatly ahead, wearing her usual dress.  She holds a watering can in her hands as she says, "It's a shovel."
Next, Gina scowls at the screen as she says, "Can we just call it a diggin' thing an' move on?"  She has removed her outer jacket and carries a hoe in one hand.  Her other hand rests on her hip.
Lastly, Maria stares earnestly forward, holding a potted Venus flytrap in her hands.  She has removed her usual lab coat and wears a pair of gardening gloves.  She says, "You should call it a spovel."
Image 2 is a grayscale illustration of Rei, Iris, Gina, and Maria, continuing from the previous image.  They have all turned to face each other.  Gina points her thumb back at Maria as she says, "Actually, I'm with Ria on this one.  Let's call it a spovel."  Iris, smiling broadly, says, "Spovel's a fun word."  To her left, Rei smiles and clenches her hands in enthusiastic fists.  To the far right, Maria smiles contently.

TGAA 2 Spoilers
In which the great Spade vs. Shovel Debate is finally brought to a conclusion (or at least a temporary truce) courtesy of one Mr. Herlock Sholmes.
Here are my previous takes on this debate: Part 1 and Part 2.
And here's a the sequel featuring Team Spovel!
Image description after the Keep reading:
The first two images are 4-panel comics and the second is 3 panels.
Panel 1-1: Kazuma & Barok step into view, holding hats in hand. Kazuma holds one hand up to the side of his mouth as he calls out, "We're back!"
Panel 1-2:  Off-panel shouting, emphasized by large speech bubbles, catches the pair off-guard. Both are shocked & slightly blown back by the force of the argument. Text is color-coded to indicate the speakers. Ryunosuke: We're wasting time here.  Don't you think we should take Susato-chan outside to start digging Iris' new garden? Susato: I think you mean that we should take Ryunosuke-chan outside and start digging Iris' new garden.
Panel 1-3: Ryunosuke & Susato glare at each other before a fiery backdrop, gripping a shovel between them.
Panel 1-4: Kazuma walks over to the settee, where Gina is holding Toby up in the air with a smile and Iris is petting Wagahai. He asks, "What are they doing?" Iris responds, "Runo doesn't know what a shovel is, so he & Susie have been arguing over what to name the shovel for the last 20 minutes."
Panel 2-1: A close-up of a frowning Ryunosuke, who says, "Iris, we've been over this. It's a spade."
Panel 2-2: Barok & Kazuma standing side-by-side. Barok says, "My learned friend is correct." Kazuma wheels around to glare at him and says, "NO, HE IS NOT!"
Panel 2-3: A close-up of Iris, who says, "Well, Kazie, what names do you and Uncle Barry suggest for the shovel?"
Panel 2-4: Back to Barok & Kazuma, who are standing side-by-side, arms crossed, as they glare sideways at each other.  Barok says, "I think this spade looks like a Kazuma."  Kazuma says, "This SHOVEL is clearly a Barok."
Panel 3-1: Barok & Ryunoskue stand to the left while Kazuma & Susato stand to the right. The background is fire. All 4 are glaring across at each other. Floating text reads, "Spade vs. Shovel, FIGHT!"
Panel 3-2: A close-up of Sholmes, who cheerfully pipes in with, "My dear fellows, the digging implement in question is clearly a hoe."
Panel 3-3: Barok, Ryunosuke, Susato, and Kazuma stand side-by-side. They all look unamused. Barok says, "So we're calling it a Herlock?" The other three chime with, "AGREED."

TGAA 2 Spoilers
Yet another follow-up to the Shovel vs Spade Debate.  Team Spovel may not conquer the English language as a whole, but Gina does recruit the Judge to their side.  So who's the real winner here?
(I need you to imagine Barok, speaking through clenched teeth and looking like he swallowed a lemon, as he says, "At which point, the accused struck the victim from behind with the...spovel.")
A follow up to this piece, which details the birth of Team Spovel. Spovel link.
Which was a follow-up to these pieces:Part One, Part Two, and Part Three.
Image description after Keep reading.
A 4-panel comic.
Panel 1: A speech bubble in the upper left corner reads “OBJCTION!” Gina stands at the witness stand, pointing up at the judge as she says, "My Lord, as the lead detective on this case, I suggest we call the murder weapon a spovel to avoid further arguments." She is scowling.
Panel 2: A close-up of the judge, who frowns and says, "Yes, I concur with Inspector Lestrade. The prosecution and defense will henceforth refer to the murder weapon in question as a spovel."
Panel 3: Kazuma and Barok stand at the prosecutor's bench. Both are frowning with their arms crossed. Kazuma glares sideways at Barok, with dark squiggles representing his frustration. Barok looks toward the judge and says, "My Lord, you can't be serious." The upper right corner shows that he has received 2 penalties already.
Panel 4: A close-up of the judge saying, "Lord van Zieks, your displeasure is noted. However, since I would rather not give you or the defense another penalty for arguing with your assistants about this, the murder weapon is now a spovel."
