i'm really happy that the last issue of the team fortress 2 comic is out now, first and foremost because i love tf2 with all my heart, it's been like family since 2009 for me and still, after all these years, a big comfort in my life.

secondly, i'm happy because there is finally an end now to the constant whining, bad takes, bad jokes and harrassment of the artists over a comic that is for fucking free. people have felt so entitled to a comic that is for fucking free. people had such foul takes like "the artist rather works on dota than the comic" (like, hello? ever heard of sth called work contracts? ppl out here really thought that makani CHOSE to work on dota instead of the tf2 comic and treat it like it's not her fucking JOB) and spread hate and misinfo that lead to people pestering the artists over a comic that is for fucking free. i'm so happy i never have to see a post of a crude mindmap, cropped from a badly pixelated screenshot again and people writing under it "SEE?!? the script is finished WHY won't the artist draw it??", framing it like it‘s their sole fault, and maybe you should not open your mouth if you don't know the difference between a mindmap and a script that has... ALL the info you need to translate that piece of work into a functioning, OUTSTANDING comic.

if it weren't for the artists you would not be reading the last chapter right now, because they were the ones pushing for it from the inside. i hope you all know that.

Fun tf2 comic fact.

A character called Saxton Hale runs Mann. co, this company sells the weapons, hats, and such to the mercs. Saxton hale regularly jumps out of planes and beats up yetis, large cats, giant snapping turtles, and much more.

if you’re wondering who’s RED pearl, well if you read the tf2 comic "Loose canon" we can see Blutarch’s assistant, thats her. yes i know she’s Blu but i had already put Bidwell as Blu pearl and we never saw Redmond’s assistant so i put her instead :p

and yes Gray Diamond doesn’t have a pearl, did he shatter it? did he not deserve one bc he was the smallest and weakest of the Diamonds? idk :p we’ll figure it out later maybe lol

I think they ended the TF2 comics perfectly. There was no master plan, no world-ending threats. Just petty grudges and an inescapable hunger. For as bonkers as this game is, the message is legit touching. Nothing lasts forever. All the Australium in the world won’t sustain you, nothing perfect can last. Even if Ms. Pauling gave the Administrator the rest of the cache, how long would that stay? It’s a finite resource. Just to keep two people who don’t know why they hate each other alive. To have the strength to end that, and to end all the suffering the material caused…

I’m really glad the writers made that choice. Because it kind of echoes this being the last issue of the comic. The story’s over. Nothing lasts forever. Not even the grudges and meaningless conflict. The Gravel Wars are over. The mercs can rest.

Idk, just feeling satisfied with an ending is a weird emotion. I think part of it is the meta aspect of things. Despite all odds, the TF2 community is still kicking, for better or worse. It’s funny to say nothing can kill this damn game, but it’s not true. One day, TF2 will be well and truly dead.

And people will move on. The millions of hours people have invested into this game will inch further away. And that’s fine. Nothing can last forever.

It’s a beautiful farewell to the community. And maybe a greeting to whatever comes next.
