Again, needed an assist from @avariciousanddelicious because while I love pokemanz, my current knowledge is limited soooo *reverses ball cap* let’s get started!

Kimbley got his start in Team Rocket, but quickly enough they realized that he was basically Way Too Evil to be a field grunt and they placed him instead in a facility that experimented on Pokemon. They were under the impression they had properly imprisoned him buuut…

…Obviously it was easy for him to escape using an Electrode to break open a wall. He roamed around for some time, collecting various Pokemon and building his team to what he believed was appropriate to his wicked personality, as well as what would be adequately effective in battles.

At one point, an Espurr in one of the forests he was traversing basically attempted to murder him, and though she was defeated in battle and he did not intend to capture her, she decided to follow him anyway. Though he does not use her in battle, she now serves as his personal intimidating shoulder guard. He ended up nicknaming her “Baozhai,” which not only translates to “precious hairpin,” but is also quite similar to “Bàozhà,” which means “to explode/explosion.”

Eventually, after continuously trouncing everyone he encounters, he discovers the Devil’s Nest, a gym occupied by individuals with specific animal-themed teams and run by a man named “Greed.” He battles his way to the top, but he and Greed end up in a stalemate. The big bad is impressed by his prowess, and offers him a slot at the Nest as his partner, which Kimbley accepts—since there is little else for him to do at the moment.
