i see what u did there 'accelarating his methods' hehehehe
do the people have one partner? or are there more? omg like a jk harem lmaoooo
im obviously spiralling with all my thoughts. its just really interesting when it comes to cults and their traditions. like weddings? especially when you said it was about consent.
BUT, what does he feel knowing that there wasn't any future intentions with him from the oc? he was lowkey taking advantage of the sex to keep her there, so do certain unspoken rules are ok for him to lowkey dodge?
Hi!!
Uuuu, good questions! I think I said before that they don't really have such strict rules as the overall society does; they do have one partner, but! they don't have a problem stepping out of that zone, as long as both partners are on the same page, aaand partners can also be platonic!
Their ''weddings'' are also a bit different than the ones we see as 'normal'; love binds all the tribe together, they respect one another and live in peace, so that's not the reason for their ''weddings''. It's more so of reaching one's higher essence - kind of like Plutos story of how a man and a woman were split in half because together they were too powerful, so they spend the rest of their lives trying to find their missing part.
That's how I see their ''weddings'' - it's not even especially for romantic partners, it's more so binding together what was once lost and what is missing. At the end of the day, not everyone in the tribe would be ''straight'', as that's part of nature, so partnerships and weddings are more so for one to acquire the part of themselves that's missing; as we know, men and women bodies are physically different, even our brains are - how they work, how we think, etc. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Mmmm, I don't think JK's intention was to take advantage of MC with all the intimate ordeal; it started from curiosity, moved to respect, and I think somehow he saw himself in MC - the way she took care of her brother, prioritizing him over her, that sort of played with his own role and responsibilities in the tribe.
Both of them had drunk the psychedelic liquid, and even if JK's body is more resilient to it, both of them weren't in the clearest headspace. They weren't thinking, and sex itself was not one that 'bonded' them together - at least from JK's perspective, blood marking had a bit more of a serious meaning.
I'd say at first it was more so a cultural difference; one anon previously asked whether JK saw MC's actions (cup sharing) as a form of courting, and to that - yes, for him MC replicated his own actions and intentions. Even in real life cultural difference is a biiiiig thing, as someone who studies abroad I can guarantee, that it changes everything
So, it wasn't him taking advantage of MC, but rather cultural differences, clouded mindset, and hidden desires
Thank you for the ask! Hope this explained your questions 🤓

since in jks tribe or cult idk its tricky, they treasure woman and the bond with one. How would they react to tae's hookup ideas? What if oc had the same ideas yk, like I think she wasn't thinking long term. I think she was actually like thinking of a lil hook up fun lol. So what are their ideas on that type of situations?
Hi!!
Uuuu, this is a good question!
So, we saw how Tae got real cozy with two of the tribes' women, and no one around him batted an eye to that, rather, multiple people around the bonfire became more intimate.
When I was writing TDMOE I got a clear vision that the group would def be more open and in tune with their sexuality, affection, etc. They don't follow society's traditions, or judgment - they have their own rules, and 'hookups'/sex is more or less seen as something natural. As long as both/all parties are consensual, no one cares, rather, encourage it (their survival is based on their numbers).
Now, if Tae were to force himself on them, that would be a whole different conversation. For one, he felt so free because of the drink (and the drink was given as sort of a test to see his truest 'self'), aaand, that way he'd be breaking their most important rule - and we saw what happened when one of the men accidentally harmed MC 😬
You're right! MC wasn't thinking of anything long-term, for her, it was just fun and a moment of freedom!
I was thinking, how would JK react if MC was to now look for "quick fun" (that is if the terrifying moment of the video and failed escape did not happen); even though I said the tribe is more 'open' to hookups and whatnot, JK is a domineering leader, and he'd def act that way towards his 'partner' as well, so he'd not let it slide.
I imagine it would start off with him blocking whoever MC was looking at, but if it were to progress, he'd have no problem accelerating his own methods. But overall that is very unlikely, as hookups are the last thing MC is thinking about, aaand if I ever write a pt.2, MC and JK are basically bound together, so that wouldn't work out... 😗
Thank you for the ask!
