Intro post!!!
I don’t wanna share my name on here, I’m scared my friends/family will find :( but for now, I’ll use the name Naomi hehe.
I’m 13 this year and a few of my favourite things are: The Mazerunner, writing, tchoukball, analysing songs, working out, dancing and deep talks with my friends.
A few of my most hated: Boys, boy-obsessed girls, attention-seeking behaviour, nonchalant people, people who get embarrassed easily, people who always blame others and certain words like “Disgusting” or “Wash” (im weird, i know)
I’m pretty interested in goth/scene fashion and music, but im too young, broke and scared to actually try it out and express myself😭
I’m a huge extrovert, i just can’t stop talking!! So i am VERY hungry for moots. I’m open to ANYONE. NOTHING is TMI to me.
I have ZERO social anxiety. Social anxiety is scared of ME. I will never turn down a chance to speak in front of a crowd. i love being silly and goofy, even in public, making people laugh is one of my talents. The quote i live by is,
It’s only embarrassing if you’re embarrassed.
That’s it for now. Stay healthy and stay zesty!
Not that you read any of this,
Naomi<3

Filming
Music Video & Audio Recording @ Horus Studios
At the early hours of 5am, I was at Horus Studios preparing the lighting and cameras for an NDP Tchoukball Music Video recording with Minister Edwin Tong and the Tchoukball Association of Singapore. I got to observe the sound engineer, Leonard Fong, who have worked with artists like JJ Lin, work in the recording room. I also worked with artists Shi Li & Adi, assisting them with whatever they needed. For the most part, I was in charge of the roaming camera, taking close-up shots and filming the behind-the-scenes.
Filming for Keppel @ Keppel Bay Tower (A Day in the Life of an Investment Analyst)
I was involved in creating the storyboard for a 6 minute explainer video, advertising Duet AI and Alpha AI. Following a pre-made script, I planned the shots and setting for the whole video.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the shoot itself, I was the location sound recordist, using the Rode Go 2 and Zoom H4n to record. As I was unfamiliar with the talents, I made sure to go through every step that I was doing while miking them up so as to make them comfortable. Some challenges I faced was due to it being shot in a public setting, I had to deal with external disturbances from the office workers. There were also shots who had to be shot in an evening setting but we only had the venue in the day. We had to be creative to block out any light sources and create our own environment.

On small things I'm proud of
People often cite the importance of celebrating the small things. Below is a collation of some of my small wins lately:
I figured out how to automatically generate subtitles using Davinci video editing software and a script I found online. This was a rather difficult and meddlesome process because I had to do some configuration in the terminal to change the versions of some things. I also suppressed the background noise. Honestly it was a fun process improving my video editing skills.
I played Tchoukball during the mock run for Waikiki. I would say I played pretty well and it was a lot of fun!
I submitted my essay for the Ivypanda essay competition.
I was accepted into the Esplanade volunteer channel where they send opportunities for Esplanade Volunteers.
Two people told me my Waikiki playlist was really good and asked for it! This made me feel proud because I put a good amount of effort into curating a playlist that would appeal to everyone and would be suitable for the atmosphere within Waikiki.
My freshmen told me I was a good facilitator and that they could tell I care immensely for them (this made me really happy)
I taught a class at unity primary and they said I was a natural and my kids were so excited to see me the second time I taught the class. I truly enjoyed teaching there and I was quite touched when they all remembered my name and told me they wanted me to teach them more.
I completed The Last Of Us part 1. The story was so moving and I’m not sure if I’ll ever enjoy a game again so immensely as I had this one.
I passed my Basic Theory Test and my Final Theory Test on the first try.
I arranged a couple bouquets of flower that I am proud of. Will show them off in a separate post!
---
I believe it's important to celebrate small wins at times. Often, people lose sight of their vision or their reasons to continue trying when they forget the things they've already accomplished on the way. Remember to celebrate your small wins today!!

Thank you for the tag @3-inch-sam !!
1. Are you named after anyone?
Sorta! The nickname 'Rex' is from Captain Rex, which I've used since ~2014 onwards.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Couple of months now, but barely just :/
3. Do you have kids?
Nope
4. What sports do you play/have played?
Nothing seriously anymore, but I used to swim and played tennis for a while and did tchoukball for a semester once. I can still be talked into casual rugby or ult frisbee but I'm not particularly good at sports haha
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Yes but never on purpose. It usually goes over my head and I never really mean it when it comes out, it's almost an osmosis-ed habit into my brain :(
6. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Not sure... probably what they're doing with their hands? I've really paid attention
7. What's your eye color?
Brown!
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Both!! They're not mutually exclusive!!
9. Any talents?
Does the entire library of random fun facts in my brain count as a talent? I can find connections between anything I'm researching no matter what
10. Where were you born?
👁️👁️ (gestures vaguely at the US)
// I don't really feel like tagging anyone, but if you see this and want to do it, feel free!! :)

Q&A with the GTC Committee
The interview was with Chair Rob Ellis (RE), Secretary Pete Justin (PJ), Tresurer Tom Offin (TO), Club Captain Andy Cummins (AC), and Head Coach Mack Hofberg (MH).
Hey guys, thank you for taking the time out to have this interview. Let's jump straight in. According to records the club was formed in 2009, but something tells me that isn't strictly true... Can you confirm this?
PJ: Do you want to take this one, Rob?
RE: Yeah sure. Officially the club did form in 2009 with it's original name FAST. Unofficially, we were Liphook Tchoukball Club before that since 2002, but when it came to creating this club [Guildford] we had so many other players that weren't in Liphook that we felt it was best to start from scratch. This way everyone at the time was considered a 'founder' and we all felt equal.
That sounds like a fair approach, and a great ethos to have. Since I mentioned 'ethos' I have to ask, I've heard of 'Guildford's ethos' but never seen it written down. Can you tell me what it is exactly, and how it came to be?
TO: Fun! Our friends are players, and our players are friends. With fun comes dedication, and with dedication comes performance.
Sounds like the best ethos to have. How did your ethos impact on the club when you formed a second team a few years back and friends were split across the two teams?
AC: It didn't have an impact really. Everyone in the club is friends so from that perspective it didn't matter. I just know that I have to work hard!
PJ: With A and B teams for Nationals but mixed teams for Regionals and other competitions, I get to play alongside everyone. So there are no divides in the club.
So as the club gets bigger so does your Facebook friend list! Ha! At the 2016/2017 Tchoukball UK Awards Ceremony Guildford walked away with a lot of trophies. How did you all feel each time your club, or a member of your club, received an award?
MH: Incredibly smug! Haha, jokes!
PJ: I actually did feel a little smug. We've worked so hard in Guildford over the last few years, and to get so much recognition it was a little hard not to be.
That is an interesting perspective Pete. This year we saw a new GTC banner at tchoukball events with the slogan "Bring The Heat". Can you tell me how that came about and if there were any other suggestions in the running?
RE: I don't think it would be appropriate to share the other suggestions...
TO: Haha, yeah there were some... colourful suggestions.
MH: I still think we should have gone with "gullible is written on the back of this banner".
RE: Considering that was the second best suggestion, I think you can understand why we went with "Bring The Heat". Haha. But seriously, "Bring The Heat" was the obvious choice once suggested as it sums up both teams within our club when we step onto a tchoukball court. We bring our A-game!
That you do, and we saw that last season. OK, my final question, and I'm intrigued to hear your answers. Who, is the best player within the club?
PJ: The club needs all of it's players equally. I would find it impossible to single somebody out. Maybe after a particular match, an individual can be singled out for an outstanding performance. But everybody has been that player at some point.
MH: Off the top of my head I'm going to say it's a tie between Pete and Tom. They are players who I think would do anything for the club and truly care the most for it.
TO: Everyone has their 'best' place equally and on different days, but my vote would be for Mr Ellis for a few reasons. 1. All round tchouk skills. 2. Sportsmanship (but can be competitive when needed). 3. Dedication to the club and years in service both on and off court.
RE: Like Pete and Tom said, for me it would be too difficult to say who is the 'best' player as we have so much talent in our club. Previously we did an internal poll on who people liked to play alongside which Louisa Hall had a landslide of votes, and I can understand why as personally I love being on the same team as her - much better than being against her skim! For that reason, I'm going to say Louisa.
AC: I think we have several players who fit that bill for various reasons. I completely agree with all the reasons why Rob was voted for, but I'd also throw Mack in as well because he has a lot of responsibility within the club. Mack is one of our youngest players, coaches both teams, and tends to lead the team he is on in terms of point scoring.
The fact you all feel that the 'best' person can change from day-to-day really shows just how much talent you have in your club. That's all of my questions. Thanks for your time today, and I look forward to seeing how you get on this season.
