Hi love! Yes! I’m a little behind because quite frankly my new boss is an incompetent buffoon and I’ve spent the last 3 months doing his job and I’m kinda burnt out. But! I’m working in it!

You weighed the possibilities of a painless, quick, meeting and while the odds were decidedly low, you were still fairly optimistic stepping into the Starcourt offices that morning.

“Hey! Minx! My office, now!”

Murray’s voice bellows down the hallway as soon as he spots you making your way through the door. His tone is brimming with anger and while you’ve never been scared of Murray, you are unsettled, especially hearing the vitriol dripping off your new “nickname”.

When you don’t move right away Murray snaps out, “NOW!” and you’re scurrying down the hall if anything, to quell his dramatics.

“What the hell is your issue, kid?” Murray exclaims as soon as he slams the office door shut.

You stare at him, mouth agape, “My issue? What the hell is your issue, Murray? I literally just got here and you’re already yelling. There’s absolutely no reason for the yelling.”

“No reason?” Murray clamors as he shuts the office door behind him, “No reason? I beg to differ, here sweetheart. I think you hooking up with Munson is definitely a good enough reason to yell right now,” this last part is said lowly, through gritted teeth but the impact is felt regardless with the shock echoing through your body.

“What do you mean?” You ask, feebly and far too late—your face is already displaying parnic.

Those feelings morphed into something else equally white hot through the night you come to realize when after startling awake for the thousandth time you recall fragments of your dream. First, you remember Eddie, and then the girl he was with Arabella. And then you remember the rest. Hot, bare, skin-on-skin, and open-mouth kisses flood your memory, and you can't help but blush. You had been having a dirty dream about your bandmate. A bandmate that you had just had a very public fight with.

Yeah, that was fucked.

You sit up, blankets pulling around your waist and try to blink away the shame and rub the sleep out of your eyes. It's not a big deal you tell yourself. Everyone has dirty dreams they're not proud of every once in a while. So, what if yours was about Eddie? It was probably an indication that you hadn't gotten any action in a really, really, long.

Second, I appreciate your kind words! TCGU is such a passion project of mine it’s so lovely to see that others are enjoying reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

Lastly, to answer your actual question: no, it’s not supposed to be obvious at all! A lot of the inspiration from this also came from the relationships in Fleetwood Mac, specifically Stevie Nicks’. She dated multiple members of the band throughout the years. The reader will be with both of the boys at some point or another over the next few years, but just like Stevie she’ll have one that is her soulmate that she’ll always keep coming back to because of that special, inexplicable bond. I don’t think she knows who that is yet!

This Could Get Ugly Announcement

Hi y'all! I just wanted to get on here to give a quick update on TCGU (nothing bad!)

As some of you may know, I was sick last month and that delayed my writing quite a bit. I am back writing now, however, what I've noticed is that what makes the whole publishing process longer is all the extra stuff, the cover designs the playlist, etc. And while I chose to do that, I don't want that to get in the way of actually getting my work out, so, starting tomorrow. I will begin consolidating the chapters into longer versions so there are only going to be 5 tracks instead of 12. Please don't misunderstand, you're still going to get the same amount of story, it'll just be easier to find for the readers and easier to put together for me. I won't delete any of the pre-existing chapters, I just wanted to make the announcement so no one got confused. I've outlined the chapter breakdown below so that you can see what is going where!

Chapters 1-3 will turn into Track 1

Chapters 4-6 will turn into Track 2

Chapter 7 will be Track 3

Chapters 8-9 will be Tack 4 (Coming this Friday)

Chapters 10-12 will be Track 5 (Coming 2/1)

Hi Sweetheart! I will be continuing TCGU, thanks for checking! I know I’ve been super delayed recently, but the holidays have been kicking my butt, I got bronchitis and have been crazy busy. I’m actually hoping to get the chapter done in the coming days!

In the meantime, here’s a little sneak peek!

He nods excitedly, “yeah, some horns would be sweet! We could also do some heavier synth.”

As he’s talking, he kneels and gently begins to secure to strap of your shoes for you.

This gesture and others like them have recently begun to spring from the guitarist. The two of you have naturally been spending more and more time together writing and through this time spent together you’ve come to realize that Eddie is kind below all that bravado and snark. It’s a kindness you recognize, one that’s been bubbling below the surface waiting for someone to lure it out by working past his walls. As it would turn out, spending a few nights a week writing would, did the trick after nearly a month. The two of you were approaching friendship.

“Thanks,” you smile, once he’s secured both of the shoes, “I was really struggling there.”

He shrugs one of those full-body shrugs you’ve come to associate with him lately and says, “it’s nothin’. Didn’t want you wrinkling your pretty dress.”

You brush off his flirtatious words as just an attempt to get under your skin. He’s still Eddie, after all.

“Maybe we should finish the song tonight, then,” you suggest, fingers smoothing out your skirt instinctively.

“And miss the after party? No chance. Argyle says that the club we’re going to downtown has go-go dancers.”

“Oh, right, the after party. I forgot,” you exclaim, unconvincingly.

“That’s bullshit,” Eddie deadpans, “you just don’t want to go.”
