finn was born & raised in london, england ( bc even tho i’m british 2 hehe gregg’s accent slays me tbh ) by his grandfather, alexander cooper, who was probably the father he never had.

nope, his parents aren’t dead ( i’m not that cruel ( ok u might disagree with this towards the end of this post but aNYWAY )) but they were very, very neglectful. his mother is an italian victoria’s secret angel & his father british who inherited the family company ( cooper industries ( they own hotels & clubs how fun )).

work was the only thing that mattered to them ( or so finn saw it like that ) but finn didn’t mind this — he had all the money in the world to do whatever he wanted with & a v loving grandfather.

the first hotel was like a small bed & breakfast ?? but it was created by a guy called carlisle cooper & the business ran smoothly enough

in about the 1950s the business expanded into this huge hotel that got lots of customers

it was HERE when cooper industries was created, & the more the business was established, the bigger the cooper name became & the more important they were

in the late 1960s-70s, alexander cooper ( finn’s grandfather ) took over the business

he was incredibly successful with it, creating new hotels which sprouted out in multiple places across the nation & alexander was the person who invested in the first club

& then came finn’s dad

when he was a kid, he didn’t think that he’d need to actually study business because, well, he was an heir. but when it came to actually taking over he was pretty shocking at it tbh. he didn’t know how to invest in shares or which peers would be good business, so he did things to help the business along

illegal things

he’d go into meetings, make plans with people, & make sure he got the money before dropping out of the deal

so basically he uses fraud to make sure the business remains successful bc he’s just a shitty person lmao which u will read abt after the bold

okay back on track. so while finn was spending time with his grandfather, being taught the ins & out of the business & how to be not a shitty person when he took over one day, what both alexander & finn were unaware of was that with these dodgy deals that his father was making, he gathered more more enemies ( each worse than the last )

by the time finn’s fourteenth christmas came around, he was semi-happy. he had a few close friends who he trusted enough, a grandfather who gave him the affection that his parents wouldn’t & the occasional visit from his cousin ISLA

due to him being semi-happy, he wasn’t really expecting what happened next to happen

okay so it’s christmas day & he’s probably sitting in the family cabin w his grandfather, opening presents & all of that christmassy stuff that ppl do on christmas when there was a knock on the door

finn was gonna open it but their maid did instead ( finn was supposed to open it )

it was a man who he didn’t recognise, but his grandfather seemed to ( i’ll probs write a self-para abt this bc i’m Nice like that ) & finn wasn’t rly listening until the bullets sounded & his maid & his grandfather crumbled to the floor

finn was distraught. he was always the sort of kid who believed his elders would be around forever, so when the only person he felt loved him was stripped away that was it. he couldn’t handle it. he wasn’t the sort of person who handled pain very well to begin with, so he knew that if he let himself grieve or feel the pain then it would destroy him

so he didn’t

he turned into something that his grandfather was trying to stop him from being; selfish, manipulative, arrogant. but he didn’t care. he didn’t care about anything. not even the fact that the bullet was meant for him.

so fast-forward a year & finn is basically a spiffy douchebag. he was fifteen & reckless, stupid, abusing his father’s money. at some point, however, his father dropped the news on him that they were moving to cali. this he was fine with, bc he’d be able to get away from everything that reminded him of his grandfather

a week or so after, the fam had moved into a mansion in beverly hills & the business hq was relocated to cali. for a while, finn was his version of happy. he made friends easily enough & settled down quick

but one day, he came home from school & his father was not happy. he took it out on both finn & his mother, & from that moment on finn has been terrified of him

this turned him into a completely different person. if he was selfish before then he was even worse after that, doing anything that benefited him & only that. he slept around. hung with the wrong crowd. became a loose canon, destroying everything in his wake

finn blamed the change in his father on the move. it had been hard on all of them, finn just assumed it hit his father harder than the rest of them

but what finn later learned was that before he was born, his mother had an affair with a man called tobias lawrence. this man is supposed to be finn’s biological father, & with him his mother had finn & his long lost twin sister, nadya

soon realised that nadya was actually in his school, & was soon hit with the news that she knew who he was. the two started bonding & have been inseparable ever since

throughout his high school years, finn turned into the definition of a ‘fuckboy’. he’s broken many hearts along the way but ofc he doesn’t care — he was just having fun.

at the end of his senior year, however, his mother reached out out to him. the abuse was becoming too much for both of them to handle. they had more scars than they could count & it was getting worse, not better.

so they formed an alliance. through establishing a connection, they’ve been trying to take down his father for his crimes ever since he finished high school & left for crawford.
