I think I have PoD brainrot again. After watching almost all of Season 5 I just like NEED to leave some probably slightly disjointed thoughts here since I'm still like the only person rn still leaving asks about that au (note: my thoughts rn are like way more focused on the miraculous side of things rn than the Kirby stuff 'Cus my miraculous hyperfixation is the one that's come back right now I'll admit):

*so remember that idea I brought up of Audrey starting to blame Marinette for how Chloe has changed for the better? Imagine she like starts trying to do stuff to sabotage their relationship or otherwise cause them to become unable to see each other because she thinks that'll force Chloe to "come back to her senses" and come back to her or something? Imagine if she tries to like convince Marinette's parents that it'd be exceptionally beneficial for her to like. Mentor under her or something. Like idk I haven't watched season 2 in a hot minute but iirc audrey gave marinette some kind of opportunity right? Imagine she's like extending that out again but with ulterior motives and also she's trying to pressure Marinette through her parents (of course they would never force Marinette to do something she adamantly doesn't want but Marinette probably is just like "I don't wanna let my parents down" and-)

*Given the whole sentimonster thing and the ring stuff imagine Gabriel trying to like. Demand that Adrien come home (he's not there directly to tell him this but I know at least one instance in an episode where like. He was not in the area but he still like prevented Adrien from making things official with Marinette. So yeah-). So Adrien keeps feeling compelled to leave and the halberd crew have to stop him. And like. Man a Sentimonster literally unable to fulfill what's commanded of him imagine how that would feel from his perspective, especially not knowing what he is-

*I just thought of like. Gabriel in his spiral into depravity thanks to the disappearance of his son just like. Starts using Lila as like some kind of surrogate child. Or at least treats her as if she were his own kid... and since this is Gabriel, specifically Gabriel Gone Wild(tm)... yeah not that good-

*Felix in Emotion shows up during the time that ball thing (I forgot the name I'll admit :'3) is supposed to happen and pretends to be Adrien having finally come home. Marinette knows this is bogus once she checks with Chloe (who probably tells Adrien too), and they all go in to investigate (or at least one of them does, with Zoe's help. Tbh I think it should be Adrien who does in this case-). Which is when Felix outs himself and then Episode Stuff Happens But Different (I was going to go more into detail but I am withholding details for now to encourage you to watch Season 5 hehehe how evil am I >:3)

I can't really think of anything tbh. At least not right now. Maybe the lack of answers given to things about his past in the anime adaptation (though that's its own universe separate from the games. It's an adaptation and it came out I think two decades ago? but hey Kirby is Kirby so since it's a piece of official Kirby media I'd say it counts), like we never get to know why he knows so much about Kirby.

With Kirby (for some reason that ship is really common in the Japanese fandom?? And I don't know why???? I mean as far as I'm aware in most media Kirby is portrayed as being at least young [in some cases, an actual child] and Meta Knight... isn't).

also really with any character I firmly view as a minor, like Bandee. (I say "firmly" because with some characters I mostly just don't know what to think and can easily see why someone would think something else. Like with Magolor I honestly don't even know what to think. I think I lean more toward viewing him as a teenager or something? Idk. He's an egg. I'm flexible with him).

Oh yeah and any of his Halberd crew (or with Sword or Blade). Really I just don't like it, I don't even really have a reason, I just... don't. Though I don't think I've ever seen anyone ship them wish him anyway, just felt like mentioning it because it probably exists. I think my dislike of it may have to do with the way I see their relationship with each other but even without that it just feels... weird to me??)

Oh yeah and Metasusie because I think that one loading screen in Star Allies implies that she's still interested in mechanizing him so I feel like a relationship between them just... wouldn't be healthy (idk I just get bad vibes from it). if it weren't for that I'd be fine with it I guess.

I like his smash bros voice and i don't like applying his anime personality and backstory to the games. I like my chill-yet-feral sphere bat and I do not need copious angst fics to appreciate him (not bashing anyone who likes meta angst, I just never really liked it that much personally).

kirby + single parent AU

this kind of turned into “adoption au” tbh :B (also they/he pronouns for kirby b/c i can)

meta knight found kirby toddling around in a random field he was flying over after a long meteor shower, which was. extremely unexpected.

they’re the same species almost definitely but meta knight didn’t know there were others around? they’re from pretty far away. probably at least the other side of the galaxy. finding another one that wasn’t summoned (a la galacta knight) is confusing as hell.

he doesn’t realize kirby is a baby here at first. they can run around pretty good and just because they don’t know the language doesn’t mean much!

he starts getting a clue when he tries to leave them for a bit and comes back to them crying his lil pink face off. and even then it takes a bit to work out that this is a baby and not just someone who is upset at being abandoned/lost/whatever.

he finally figures this when, for lack of a better idea, this fucking guy gives this unknown pink marshmallow who has spent their first day together bouncing wildly between joyful and bewildered about everything they see a sword 

and they eat it 

because kirby is a baby.

THIS IS VERY TERRIFYING.

IT IS LESS TERRIFYING BUT STILL TERRIFYING when kirby does not hurt himself but suddenly has Sword Powers that they can use a bit. not a challenge to meta knight to disarm ‘em without hurting them either, but boy does this give him a heart attack and finally makes it click. BABY. CHILD. SMALL.

so okay! meta knight has a baby now! he is not prepared but doesn’t really know anyone else who’s responsible enough to take care of a baby with...eating? powers???

(look. meta acts like he knows a lot. and tbh, he has a lot of experience in plenty of things. but he does not fully know what kirby’s deal is.)

so he...raises a baby. kirby.

lots of trial and error! naturally. not only does kirby eat a lot for gaining powers, he just eats a lot period, and meta knight needs to work fast to make sure he has food that’s food instead of random stuff lying around and doesn’t eat actual poison, or something. kirby’s got one hell of a stomach, but they’re not immune to everything.

for a little bit he keeps ‘em on the Halberd, but after the third or fourth time kirby eats Axe Knight he moves his base of operations to a nice little house in Green Greens. the crew can take care of the ship in his absence. he flies by to supervise a bunch.

meta knight is fast enough that he never gets inhaled, though his mask is not so lucky.

it takes meta knight a while to get over his issues with anyone seeing his face, tbh. he has to with kirby, who is, again, his baby, but the problems with always being masked is hammered in when he loses it when he doesn’t have a replacement right on hand, and then kirby has a sobbing fit for hours at this stranger with his papa’s voice even after he finds it and is like “look, kirby, it’s me! it’s still me!”

so yeah. after that huge fuckup, in private, he takes mask breaks! he never thought he’d be doing something like that.

sometimes goes to other parents to figure things out. Iron Mom, mostly, who is also armored and therefore can withstand kirby when he has little tantrums or starts eating new things. she even babysits once in a while!

meta knight and king dedede end up in a weird standoff type thing when kirby, still a very little baby, finds the king stealing a bunch of food including his and meta’s and wrecks shop. 

meta knight does not mind kirby doing this, even though it was very dangerous. he does mind king dedede being mean and insulting kirby a lot. he has priorities.

also, kirby knows so many swears thanks to meta knight, man. so many. meta doesn’t care much himself.

kirby doesn’t like to talk a lot even when he learns, but boy does it throw  people when they just poyo all happily and then drop “oh shit, it’s almost lunch time!” in their adorable little voice. 

he did think about taking dreamland over to make it better for kirby, but man. he was too tired being a parent. that plan was put on the backburner and then quietly abandoned after kirby ended up becoming sort-of friends with king dedede.

done via kirby just showing up at the castle to play with the waddle dees when meta knight wasn’t looking, tbh. while sometimes things got broke (meta knight...also did not super care, though he’s respectable enough to have kirby assist in helping clean up after) the kiddo made things fun enough, and he was stubborn enough, that dedede just gave up on kicking ‘em out.
