How I feel about this character: I adore her. She’s strong and scary and amazing and having to be on a team with pervert 101 Jiraya, i completely understand her anger.  All the people I ship romantically with this character: Dan. I don’t know if i would ship anyone else romantic with her except maybe Kakashi’s never before seen mom. They definitely had a fling before they got with their boys, and possibly even after lol. My non-romantic OTP for this character: Shizune and Sakumo My unpopular opinion about this character: I don’t know if this is unpopular, but she deserved to be angry with Jiraya when he was being gross. She had no reason to hold that anger back when he was legit just being a nasty man. One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish we would have been allowed to see her taking on and training Shizun in the past. Like what was her reason for doing it? Did Shizun approach her? Did she see medical ninjitsu skills in Shizun and decide to take her on as a student? Was it just because Shizun was Dan’s niece and Tsunade wanted someone close to Dan by her side after his death??? my OTP: Tsunade/Dan my cross over ship: I don’t have a lot of cross over ideas? Maybe Tsunade/Melinda may would be friggen cool.  a headcanon fact: Kakashi calls her Auntie Tsunade in private and she loves it both because she did know Kakashi when he was a little kid, and because it’s the only familial bond Kakashi allows himself anymore and if he’s going to choose her to hang on to she’s going to accept because he is friggen adorable when he calls her ‘Auntie Tsunade’ 

Sasuke

How I feel about this character: Honestly, Meh? I accept his anger and he had a right to it and a right to do things like Kill Danzo (Deserved it) be angry at Hiruzen (would have been acceptable to kill him if he was still alive as well tbh) and a lot of other things. 

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Urge this is so hard cuz he’s hard to ship for me since he ruined a lot fo his relationships. Jugo and Sugetsu (sp?) definitly cuz he was actually working well with them, and a little bit Naruto cuz the story is there but i’m not a huge NaruSasu shipper (sorry)

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Sakura. Like...Let these two be friends. Let them have the bad ass relationship they deserved to have GDI

My unpopular opinion about this character:I don’t know if it’s really unpopular, but Saske crossed a line wanting to kill all of the Kages. Like, i get his pain and as said above he deserved to take out Danzo and deserved the revenge he craved, but when he wanted to kill the Kages that included Gaara. Gaara who has faced his own issues and horrors because of things out of his control and legit wants nothing more than to make a better more understanding world. Like...come on sasuke. Get revenge but don’t kill someone who has also suffered a lot in the world that hurt you. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Actual HEALING. Being able to address his pains and his actions and grow and heal from them. Not just avoiding the village but getting to talk to the people he hurt in some way (Naruto, Sakura etc) and being able to address why he did what he did and make atonments and heal himself. Like, i could even ship SasukeSakura if we had just seen them actually heal their relationship and if i saw him and Naruto actually talk about what happened i would be all over that relationship a lot more because it’s there. they care deeply about each other but i need to see Sasuke face what he did and both atone and heal from what happened to him in his life. 

my OTP: I’m not sure i have one for Sasuke? Maybe Sasuke/Healing XD

my cross over ship: Sasuke/Zuko XD

a headcanon fact: Sasuke opened a cat rescue in Konoha upon returning for the first time, and any mission he does he has Kakashi or Naruto (the current Hokage) send at least half the money to the cat rescue so that it has constant funds.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Art student on crack. That’s legit my view of him. He is little more than an art student who had too much crack and can’t stop XD (I say...as an art student)

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Be allowed to settle down with someone or at least been allowed to give a reason for why he didn’t settle down with someone? Like, if you want to tell me he’s ACE i’m ok with that. I love that thought. BUT DON’T JUST DECIDE HE HAS A SON AND NOT EXPLAIN WHO THE KIDS OTHER PARENT IS OR WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM COME THE FUCK ON!!!! we already had this shit with Kakashi and Gai. Don’t do it to Metal as well. At least Lee and Tenten were orphans. their parents died and we knew that gdi.

a headcanon fact: Lee likes to take naps in the middle of the day after long training sessions, and his favorite pillow is his Sensei’s boyfriend. He does not care how far he has to go to find his favorite pillow, or what meetings he has to interupt, he is getting a nap and Kakashi will just have to deal with being used as a pillow. Gai thinks it’s adorable, Kakashi is a little annoyed and Tsunade would like it if Lree didn’t burst into their meeting just so he could fall asleep on his step dad’s lap GDI

Neji

How I feel about this character: Deserved better. Kind, sweet man who should not have had to deal with the shit he had to deal with.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Naruto. Naruto helped Neji find a new path in his life and helped him realize that he didn’t have to give in to the hand life had dealt him. He was allowed to change his destiny. I wish we could have seen so much more of their relationship grow. 

My unpopular opinion about this character: Should have been made a Chunin after the first exams (though he’s not the only one i belive this should have happened with). Although Neji’s anger and hurt was evident, that was no reason to keep him back from promotion. He proved himself to be a strong capable leader and instead of double promoting him to Jonin later he should have been promoted to chunin from the get go with Shikamaru. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I WISH HE HAD LIVED AND BEEN ALLOWED TO HAVE A HAPPY LIFE!!!

So I watched like 2 episodes of Nightflyers...

So after a loooong time of procastinating (I have a big ass TBR k??) yesterday I finally got around reading "Nightflyers" (the ilustrated edition is 200 ish pages so it's a very quick read) and decided to watch the series because I really liked the concept of the book but felt that a series could really improve the ending and flesh out the characters.

Now I must start saying that I hadn't even watched the trailer or anything about the series, I just directly jumped from the book to the series and I was not impressed tbh.

It was -

K so there are gonna be spoilers about the book and the series (at least the 2 episodes I've watched of Nightflyers so if you don't wish to read them don't read any further.

Ok first off I had a huge 'pls no pls no' moment at the beginning of the series (like I mentioned before I didn't know a thing about the casting of the series) and upon watching the first scene of what I supposed was the climax of the book I see Gretchen Mol struggling in the ship with no gravity and for those of you who have read the book will already know I mistook her for Melantha as she was the only one aboard the ship (well the only one alive in any case) by that point now Melantha was very clearly described as a WoC in the books so I was already thinking it had been a case of whitewashing (not the case but I am still not sure and I'll get to that later) but when she is recording her warning message she identifies herself as Dr. Agatha Matheson and I was throughly confused from that moment on... do i even need to talk about Rowan (by that point a nameless stranger to the audience) is doing his best Jack Nicholson impression and then Agatha kills herself?? Like I was just completely confused by that point.

So I was like ok fine I already expected them to change some stuff and that’s fine, so I kind of tried to pretend I was watching a series completely unrelated to the book (I played myself cuz I know damn well my stupid ass brain likes to nitpick about everything) but fam they changed the whooooole ass premise of the book.

So what I actually liked a lot about the book was that the concept was lot like a mix between "Psycho", "The Hunting of Hill House" and "And then there were none". I mean if I told y'all this story is basically a haunted house/murder mystery in space it would sound pretty cool right??? Well they managed in 2 fucking episodes to kill any suspense they might have built up.

Right, so Karl D'Branin (wasn't his name Karoly tho?? Why is there a need to change a goddamned name?? And he is much younger than is book counterpart) is a prefessor? Investigator?? Who the fuck knows for an unnamed university or government facility (who knows?? I'll go for investigator cuz he was that in the books) in the year 2093 on earth (so again wildly different from the book because he was doing his research from a planet named Avalon that is very scholary //this planet is also mentioned in "Dying of the light" another book by GRRM that I absolutely adored// and we are in an era where space travel and aliens are common af I mean Earth is barely glossed over at the beginnig of the book and not relevant whatsoever to the plot) and he is talking to his wife about how apparently he discovered the volcryn are somewhere near the earth and he and only he must find them and communicate with them because they maybe? Possibly? Hopefully? Will help them save the Earth from dying (why is it dying tho? Global warming? Nuclear war? And why or how does he know the volcryn would help?? This plot is convoluted and has holes everywhere you look at) but they (the people he works for) won't help him financiate his work never fear tho cuz Roy Eris (wasn't his name Royd in the books?) wants to help him (the expression on his wife's face suggests he is a super well known man and I am like ?????) if he gets together a crew yadda yadda.

So what I liked is that they gave Karoly a family, in the book we never really get to know much about the past or family of most of the characters so it's kind of hard to find them sympathetic but apart from that everything is a fucking mess, so the thing is I know they are introducing this noble 'we are the planet's last hope' bullshit because they want this mission to have bigger stakes than those of the book (in the book Karoly has been studying the volcryn as a myth that has been repeating throughout the galaxy in different moments and different cultures and he just wants to prove they are real it's as if a Folklore researcher traveled to Transylvania to find vampires tbh) but it makes no fucking sense in any way, first off how does Karoly even know they exist save from the Teke energy readings? How does he think they can help save the Earth?? How is he gonna communicate with them if the people in this universe have never contacted aliens before??

And well there is the Nightflyer, this ship is crucial and while I think the design for the series was intresting it doesn't work for the story, so in the book Royd Elis is a super unknown random captain of a ship that is completely automatizied (this is SUPER important for the plot) he usually trasports cargo not people but he takes on D'Branin' crew because he is very intrested in people and he is curious about the volcryn.

Ok now Royd mentions his mother in the 2nd episode (by then I had just given up trying to make sense of things tbh) and says she designed the ship and he made some improvements, but the thing that is most glaringly out of fucking place for me is the Nightflyer is a colony ship and Royd's mother wanted to make a legend of herself wtffffff? So in the book the reason why the ship is completely automatizied is because Royd's mom absolutely hated people and with good reason she was an extraordinarily gifted telepath but in her home planet her abilities were deemed as evil an unnatural so she faced a lot of abuse growing up til she got a Job in a ship and then when she had enough money she comissioned the Nightflyer to a race of aliens especialized in technology, so you see why this makes no sense to me to have a full crew instead of just the group of scholars (it kind of takes away from the mystery murder element).

Another thing that killed the suspense was that we never get eased into a sense of calm, from the very beginning Thale is seen as a menace in the ship (again why even go about the telepaths if you are going to do it in the boring way) and there is wierd ass stuff hapenning all the time yet everything is blamed on Thale while in the book we get weeks of the crew living together with only one thing that worries them and that is Royd, because just like in the series he is just with them through a holoprojection and they feel wary of him, and Thale is just one more scholary who volunteered to go with them (he is a Level 1 telepath but this is not that big of a deal and everyone treats him normaly up to the point when he starts feeling a sense of danger) tbh everything in the beginning points to Royd being the one who is killing them, and then we suspect of the volcryn, until the ship and Royd's mother spirit inside it is revealed as the culprit, but in the series by the end of the second goddamned episode we see Royd talking to the ship and it's like ok the ship is responsable for this, as I said it doesn't build any suspension, they managed to take a story that was intresting and scary into a boring bland stereotypical mess (you know what I am not even gonna mention how Melantha is shoved aside as the main female character and Agatha is instead proped up).

I don't know if I am going to keep watching tbh.

Casserole

This took a little bit because these two, man! They were my most doomed ship that actually managed to get an unexpected happy ending. So many feels to talk about. lol Thanks for humoring me by asking yet another ship you know almost nothing about, hun. ;)

1) when they first intrigued me

The thing about these two is that with how this show was put together it’s kinda hard not to be intrigued by their interactions right away. I mean, the show literally starts with him finding her dead skeleton to grab her watch with a “See you soon” in the future & then we see him kidnap her in the past. Despite that rough beginning, you were meant to be curious where their partnership would go. So when we see her waiting for him 2 years later like he asked, we see that she believed him and kinda paid the price for it. I personally love that when Cole’s all “okay gotta go back to the mission bye” Cassie’s like “NOPE” I don’t care what anyone says, girl was fierce from Day 1. I love that.

This scene is the moment I was shipping these two. It’s just kinda adorable & light considering they’re about to sneak into a party so Cole can kill a man. Cassie tells him he looks good & socially awkward S1!Cole doesn't know how to give a compliment to save his life so he tells her she looks clean. Aww bb. lol And he actually smiles!!! It’s a rare thing to see Cole do, ok?

3) when I knew they were OTP status (as in there was literally no other ship for them I would want)

Like I said before, it’s hard going into this show (at least imo), not to be invested in these two. At the very least, you were supposed to be. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ship ever be so touchy-feely in the beginning without it being ‘romantic’ so it wasn’t hard for me to picture them in that kinda way eventually. I knew they’d be a good team when it came to the mission as well. There is also something about him already calling her Cassie by this point too. Idk. It’s just a nice touch.

5) Favorite scene(s)

It’s kinda hard to pick a favorite for these two over the course of 4 seasons but I’m picking two moments because I can. :P And I’m gonna go for the happy stuff. First, them getting together in 2x12. And the very unexpected proposal in 4x10. There’s something about them arguing before they happen that makes sense to me. Cole & Cassie are two very stubborn people. Cole was wanting her to be free of him & of having to be part of the mission instead of living a regular life. But ofc Cassie calls him out on his bullshit, telling him that she knows that he’s in love with her & that’s why he pushed her away. There’s also something to be said about her making the first move. Cole had actually already laid his feelings out on the table in 2x08 so it only made sense for her to be the one to kiss him. And yeah, the sex scene is hot tbh. (Despite them cutting it so there’s fight/death scenes being shown in between moments. lol) Also, that proposal in the second to last episode caught me so off-guard. I never expected a proper proposal from these two & with Cole taking them to The Keys no less. Yes, it’s bittersweet but it’s beautiful with the sunset in the background before it goes red & it was really sweet that Cole was trying to do that for Cassie. :’)

6) Scene(s) that made me cry

Man, I had to think about this one for a second because these two have made me cry so many times over the seasons. They just were always so doomed. So I picked 4 moments. LOL The first time I know they made me cry for certain was ep 1x07. That phone call between Cassie & Cole while they’re waiting for a bomb to come for the building that he’s currently in because the virus needs to be destroyed had me bawling. She was so devastated!! Same goes for the 1x09 scene where Cole watches Cassie die in his arms with a “See you soon” from her. I can’t. Fast forward to the last 2 episodes of the show. Cassie saying that she refuses to let Cole die & that time owes them all in 4x10 guts me. She loves him so much. bawl Amanda was scary good in this scene. And ofc, the scene that could have very well been the last Casserole scene ever if they had went for the grim ending. That goodbye was beautiful but sad at the same time. Again, I can’t.

7) Scene that pissed me off

I mean, I don’t know really. Just in more recent memory I remember this moment in 4x02 kinda pissing me off (but the show made up for it later when they were reunited & put it aside), because while I get why Cole didn’t want to do what Cassie wanted to do, um it did kinda hurt how she started crying as she begged him to come with her & he just kinda looks away after saying “Not this time”. Idk. It’s just like, dude that’s the love of your life asking you. At least look her in the eye. Rude. lol Tho before anyone jumps me, I got why they did this. In season 3, Cole put getting Cassie first over Jennifer/helping the mission. This time, he was thinking with his head, not his heart. It’s just a moment I can think of for this question really, that’s all. Cuz yeah, Cassie was maybe being too impulsive & definitely snappy w/ Cole & Jones. But I got her pov too. She just wanted to get rid of Olivia from what seemed like a logical angle. Can’t blame her.

8) Favorite underrated moment

This will always just be one of my favorite little moments because it’s so unexpectedly light. The banter, the chemistry, Cole trying to dance while Cassie is both amused & losing patience with him. It’s something I can watch on repeat. And it ends on a really sweet note with Cole saying “Nothing bad can come from this” as if to say their love’s too pure to be what ends the world. :’)
