Oh boy, I don't really have a "Wip" Folder. TT0TT It's more of a "multiple folders scattered across my computer, see if you can find them" jkaljfdsa My WIPS are usually edits, coloring, or video based.

well that's tough lmao according to @pipergirl17, it's Lunacy Fringe, but i think the ending of The Crow's Song is probably the angstiest. (or maybe the ending of thirsty lol)

probably any of my holiday fics. When The Clock Strikes 12 and A Kiss For A Drink. Longer Than A Heartbeat has a pretty happy ending, too

i have, but not recently. and it wasn't even hate on the specific fic, just hate on me as a person for being unable to finish things or unable to finish them in a satisfying way lmao which is... fair tbh.

yes. the dirty, raunchy, graphic kind.

nah. i can't get into crossovers.

yes, weirdly enough. it was way back in my iCarly days, a smut fic called Measured Rumors on FFN. someone copied+pasted it under a different title and i didn't even know until a couple of people told me. they reported it as stolen and it was taken down pretty quickly.

not yet, but someone did ask for permission to translate one of my fics a year or two ago. idk if they're still doing it or not lol

i started co-writing a fic with @courtneyshortney82 years ago, but other stuff happened and it fell to the wayside. we may need to pick it back up sometime!

scene descriptions and dialogue, i think. i’m also pretty proud of some of the more original ideas i get and how i can be very inventive and creative when the mood strikes me.

oh god, where do i begin... probably action sequences, pacing, getting too wordy, FINISHING WHAT I START. though there are many others for sure.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i try not to!! i'm chronically monolingual and google translate is not always reliable. if i have to, i'll do the speech in italics and then put "they said in (language that is not english)" lol

I wanted to wait until the year was truly over to do this, because who knows! I could've ended up writing right up until midnight this morning. I didn't, but I did post on Dec 30th and started a new WIP yesterday evening, so it was close tbh.

Words and Fics

I published 201631 words on ao3! I had really wanted to reach the goal of 20K and I did work hard in the last few days of December to reach it, something I think will help me feel more satisfied when work sucks all of my free time away again.

I wrote 200019 unpublished words! To be fair to myself, I went through and added up the wordcount of every WIP I have that's over 1000 words. That's most of them!

37 fics on ao3 - I think there's maybe 5 little drabbles on tumblr that I didn't put up there.

59 WIPs - Some of these are long and almost finished, some are more of a summary of ideas, and the most common wordcount I came across was 4-5K.

Still Motion - Rated E - 6.5K - [ Tumblr ] [ AO3 ] Steve poses nude for Eddie so he can do figure sketching from his bed, as Eddie starts to look like he's getting too warm. Of course, it's not the temperature that's getting to him.

Last Man Standing - Rated E - 15.6K - [ Tumblr ] [ AO3 ] (First fic in the LARP AU series, includes art!) Steve asks Eddie to teach him how to play D&D. Eddie has no idea what's in store for him as Steve throws him for a loop, making the game into something that changes Eddie on a molecular level, if his dick is to believed.

Between Light and Darkness - Rated E - 5.2K - [ AO3 ] Eddie's living in Steve's basement while they figure out the vampire thing, and Steve wants Eddie to have a safer source of blood than going out and hunting - he offers himself. Eddie doesn't want to hurt him, and doesn't think he can control himself. So they argue about this a lot. The arguments lead to a whole new discovery that they never learned from vampire legends.

Acceptance and Negation - Rated E - 18.7K - [ Tumblr ] [ AO3 ] (Also known as the forniphilia fic) Steve loses a bet against Eddie, who gets to order him around all night. It wasn't intended to be a sex thing until Steve discovered something new about himself.

Waves - Rated E - 4.6K - [ Tumblr ] [ AO3 ] (FKA spit luvrs supreme) Steve watches Eddie a lot, and becomes obsessed with his mouth. They're hanging out one day when he snaps and does something about it.

It's so fun and gratifying to me that a lot of these are from the paraphillia series, a project that I haven't had enough time to work on lately but is something I'm still super interested in!!! I took a leap with this one and the reception has been encouraging!

Upcoming Events and Projects for 2024

The continuation of my Paraphillia series! I'm hoping this is what I can work on next!

The LARP AU - I don't expect to finish it this year, there's a lot of story in my head and it's a really fun sandbox for me to keep playing around in! I have more art planned for it too if I ever get my attention span for drawing back <3

The Apocalypse AU - The very first and very second fics I finished and published in over a decade! There's still story left here, and I want to revisit it sometime this year.

Challenges! There are SO many fic challenges, and I participated in two in 2023 - @steddiemicrofic and @steddievember. I'm hoping to find the right challenge to add to that list in the new year! I'm also trying to have realistic expectations for what my free time will be like 💀. (Also, shout out to the mods of those two challenges! For Steddiemicrofic, that really gave me a jumping off point to help me meet more people in this fandom and was a very low key, low barrier entry into participating in something! And for Steddievember, thank you for the encouragement, incitement of, and inspiration for some more of my unhinged bullshit favorite type of writing.

And lastly, just a shitload of WIPs I'm so fucking fond of and hope to get to and complete this year <3

Truly thank you to anyone who's ever interacted with me on here! My year looked really fucking different from March (when I posted my first fic) to December. I feel really fucking lucky to have made some good friends here, and I think I grew a lot in some ways that I wouldn't have otherwise! It was scary as hell putting my writing out there at first, and now the main source of tension is that there aren't infinite hours in the day so I can keep up with how much I want to share with you all <3 I'm blowing you all kisses from the abysses 💖 Tagging anyone who hasn't done it yet who wants to!

twice. one of my first ever oc fics i once started co-writing with a friend of mine during a sort of all nighter after watching the crow. it did not last long and i ended up writing some more of it myself. and another time with a friend back when i wrote hp fanfic (groans @ past) but that never finished.

i wrote bandfic when i started. mostly about good charlotte and mest. and occasionally early crackfic crossovers where all my favorite band people and skateboarders just uhhhh hung out... it made no sense but i was 11 so. embarrassingly enough the first non-band fic i wrote was harry potter. we all have to start somewhere i guess.

Unnamed Sterek Remix

I realised Feels Good Doesn't It, one of the first multi-chapter fics I ever finished, was literally a decade old this year, and I thought it would be a fun excercise to try rewriting it and seeing how my writing has improved. And then I reread it and realised that, while there is still a lot about it I like, I had absolutely no idea how to construct a plot back then. So then I spent several hours pouring water into the plot of season 2 to see where it leaked, and ended up a fic that is half 'what if stiles got turned into a creature' AU and half 'what if season 2 made sense though' AU. I have no idea when (if ever) it will be finished, but it's colonised my brain like cordyceps spores and shows no sign of leaving, so maybe it will actually see the light of day eventually.

Unnamed Gotham Ghoul sequel

This one has been 90% done for at least a year, but won't tell me what it needs to actually wrap up the plot. It's an exploration of tim's mental health issues, because that seems to be all I write these days, although being the GG universe this time it has a fun cannibalism twist on the formula! Plus it's dick POV, which I don't write nearly often enough.

Back to the future didn't prepare me for this

The not!fic part of this project is chugging along, but that mostly just exists to advertise the larger (as yet unpublished) project of creating an in-world wiki for an alternate timeline version of the MCU. It's unquestionable the largest thing I've ever written, 200,000 words and counting, and it's going to appeal pretty much exclusively to whatever the crossover of mcu fic readers and blazeball fans is, but i have loved writing it so much that i don't even care that that's probably about 1 person.

this is a dead dove batman/robin vampire AU that wasn't supposed to be an anne rice homage but has definitely turned into an anne rice homage, and i have no idea if i'll ever finish it, but i think what i have so far is some of the best stuff i've ever written

I promise I'm not actually going to call it that, although it's been 10,000 words and well over a year without any better ideas, so maybe I don't promise that. Either way, it's the Dick/Midnighter prequel/side-quel to Pretty Boy, aka 21 pages of dick fucking his own demons for fun and profit

Untitled Constantine de-aging fic

sometimes i write happy fic, and sometimes i write zatanna having to babysit a version of john who hasn't even met her yet and has no idea why talking to him makes her cry. this is one of many WIPs that has a delicious set up and a great opening and yet it steadfastly refuses to develope any actual plot

untitled first time spike/angel/drusilla fic

i hate writing porn, i really do, so why are so many of my best ideas entirely centered around me having to write porn? but spike and angel are so repressed, and so convinced they're the least repressed people on earth, and i'm completely obsessed with the toxic and yet genuinely affectionate family dynamic the whirlwind have, so maybe having to write all that sex will be worth it

untitled tim & dana angst

i just wanted to write tim having a breakdown tbh and the period where he's not robin makes such a good setting for that, and i think dana's a really interesting character, and she makes a good foil for tim in this setting, but unfortunately i need a way for their conversation to end that isn't dana putting tim on house arrest or tim just throwing himself out of the window and i'm not actually sure that's possible, i completely understand why this scene didn't happen in the comics now.

And I Would Die For You A Thousand Times

I'm being optimistic, counting this as a WIP, but I want to be the sort of person who could finish it. that's who i aspire to be as a writer. it's a bbc musketeers athos/porthos/aramis fic with a merlin/every other character in merlin backstory, because lancelot was never actually confirmed to be properly dead and maybe walking through tears in reality makes you immortal, and maybe if you were immortal you'd seek out a regiment and soldiers who remind you of the knights you knew long ago, and then maybe you'd completely fail to tell them you were imortal while also falling despierately in love with them, and maybe, one day, i'll be the kind of writer who can actually write chapters and chapters of pining without it just getting boring.

An embarrasment of sequel ideas for just about every fic i've ever written

i've got let me take you by the hand sequels (and AUs), i've got joyce byers home for wayward teens sequels, i've got way way too many gotham ghoul sequels, i've got serial fiction sequels, i've got together sequels. if you want sequels... probably don't come to be because the chances of me finishing any of them are laughable

this is by no means all of them (my HP critique-as-fic ron x draco story is getting prodded at, and the gotham garage jaytim fic, and i know no one believes me any more but i promise not a catholic thing isn't actually dead!) but it's the most interesting ones, I think.
