THANK YOU!! tbh heck yeah i love cartoons and anime, I’m not going into animation because…well I can’t animate rip but I love analyzing their structures because I really do want to work with cartoons some day, just not animating them (and I’d say I wanna work with anime but I dont know if I’d be good at dubbing/if there’s even room for non-translators in dubbing and I couldn’t learn Spanish over a lifetime of participating in classes for it, let alone Japanese when I’ve never studied it at all LMAO however I really want to analyze certain aspects of anime’s art style that aren’t as commonly found in western cartoons.  I’ve heard a lot of talk about what makes anime’s fighting scenes so great vs why anime-inspired cartoons in America don’t always hit that greatness, and I think that’s a fascinating area that I really need to look into more.  I’m not planning to be an art director either but it would be awesome to have a western cartoon that pays homage to even the finest details of Japanese anime.  I dont necessarily want all my cartoons to be anime-inspired either though; there’s not a huge reason for most of them to be other than the fact that I enjoy a semi-realistic style, but anime isn’t the only one to achieve that kind of style.  If Oneiromon ever got turned into a show tho, that’d be one that I’d like to be inspired directly by anime, since the entire structure of the story is based on anime - specifically Digimon but xD idk though, like I said I’m not really going to work in the art department of my shows, I’ll just let the artists do their job and consult them when something seems off.)

And aaa thank u!! As salty as I am I like to spread positivity where I can; as much as I hate people like aphobes I find much more value in simply spreading ace positivity and awareness and ignoring toxic people.  Obviously I dont always do that but hey, I just have too much free time on my hands (which is why I laugh when people throw insults like that at me/others, like yes, and so do you? I dont understand the issue here) plus I dont send anon hate so there’s that!  I just think that as a society, if we focus more on building up good/innocent people than tearing down bad people, we’ll be much better off.  Bad people do deserve to be thrown off their perch but not at the expense of making innocent people feel bad (ie people calling out the homophobia in the ace community/critiquing MOGAI identities’ helpfulness to kids who are trying to figure out their identity, translating to making ace and a-spec people - gay/trans and not alike - feel unsafe in the community because people are apparently incapable of critiquing something without grouping the entire group together and then making fun of said group just on the basis of being that group).  I want to reflect that in my shows too, actually; I dont want everything to be just fun and games because my writing style simply isn’t like that and I’m tired of bullying PSAs that dont address the root causes of bullying - and you bet your ass that I’m going to tackle common PSA topics like that from a more realistic angle.  Hollywood is so disconnected when it comes to PSAs about important subjects - drug PSAs that try to shame people out of doing them when the reason people take them is because of shame and sadness, bullying PSAs featuring pretty white kids being called petty names instead of targeting bigotry as the root cause of bullying and?? literally even pretty white kids dont get bullied for shit like that??, and anti-suicide PSAs that portray suicide as attention-grabbing and mental health professionals as incapable morons….I HATE how much harmful misinformation circles around in hollywood even in fiction.  BUT that was a side tangent - I mostly just want to showcase minorities in the roles they should’ve been showcased in all along.  Fuck your black sidekicks and gay friends and your psuedo-progressive female characters - give me muslim lesbian co-protagonists kicking ass as superheroes.  Give me a gay trans boy struggling with the everyday events of highschool.  Give me a black kid in a wheelchair who gets transported back in time to a time where knights existed and is declared the chosen one who has to slain a dragon.  People say it’s progressive pandering but no it’s not - it’s making things interesting!  We’ve seen cishet white people (usually men) fill these roles plenty of times; the combinations I mentioned add something new to the table.  Imagine how many new spins you could put on typical highschool plots if you made the character trans and gay.  Imagine how unique your show would be if you could work religious references into the superpowers of your muslim superheroes.  And don’t even get me started on how many new possibilities there would be from a handicapped kid in a typical fantasy plot like that - from maneuvering during fight scenes to the cultural shock of this updated machinery, there’s so much room to make the story unique.  I guess all of these ideas are rich coming from me given that the main protagonist in Oneiromon is white lol but he’s an old character okay- and there are other iterations/series of Oneiromon and I can’t imagine there’ll be many white protagonists joining him in the future.  I have a lot to learn about other cultures and other details first of course, being my able-bodied white Christian self, but my goal is to portray them as respectfully as possible!  There’s a certain underlying bias that I find in a lot of shows that try to portray minority groups - even when they do it well, you can just tell that they would never make that character the main character - but I want to purposely avoid that feeling, and hopefully I can do that!

Alright. I've been Extremely inactive lately and I think it's time for me to start my Naruto OC Critiques. Again, I'm sorry for being extremely inactive and I'm going to try to stick to a routine of "One Critique a week", just to try and keep myself active as possible. Alrighty, enough of that now let's start

THIS CRITIQUE IS MY PERSONAL OPINIONS AND I WOULD RESPECT YOUR OPINION IF YOU RESPECT MINE. THANK YOU!) ------------ Hello again and we are back with another Naruto OC Critiques. Today we will be reviewing a vary handsome OC named Hayato Hyuga by Itsnattie.Deviantart.com This OC really strikes my interest because it's extremely hard to find a good looking Hyuga OC that does not look and act like exactly clone of Neji or Hinata

Let's start with Hayato's appearance. I'm loving the hair, short and it appears that he has a small bit of it that grew out towed the right side of his face. I like this because it's not long and flowing down his back like most Hyuga OC's. I also love the small bead that's attached to the strand of hair. Now, his facial features are really good. I like the scars on his face, they are just placed so perfectly and the creator didn't over do it either. Also I love the small bit of facial hair on the chin as well, which is a good touch and attention to detail. His outfit really is what brings this OC to a whole different level and puts him in a league of his own. First let's start off with the color. I really enjoy the dark dull blue, This really strikes as a "ninja" to me, it's not a soft dull powder blue or a normal dark blue, it's dark, dull, and really says "I'm a ninja and I'm positive you can't see me in the bushes" I like his sash belt with the village symbol on it. I like that it's not a complete headband. It's a quick look that really tells you where he's from but at the same time doesn't slam in your face as "alright look at my obvious headband". Now his pants, I really like the design and style of his pants but I do have a problem with the color. As a ninja I would say "pure white is not the rout to go on" I like how dark the top is but once I see the pants it's like "Who are you trying to hide from?" I do wish the pants was a dark grey, black, or even the same color as your top. But I honestly do really like the outfit as a whole. I don't know why they picked the red for this character but half of me loves it and another half is like "Dude, that needs to be black" I'm conflicted with the red cloth he has. The shoes are honestly a breath of fresh air as well. You don't see many - hell, you don't see any Naruto OC's with his foot wear. It really translates well with his outfit and his backstory (which we will be getting to that next) and it really relates to the Japanese Ninjas of the past

Now it's time to move onto his History/Background. So reading into it, his mother was a assassin before his birth. Once his mother gave birth to him their family was fine until Hayato turned 8 years of age. To fill his mother's role and obligation to the assassin's group (Which the creator never gave a name or the assassin's group, they just know it's a secret organization) Already I like how this is starting. I like the aspect of "Its a assassin organization and no name keeps it a secret" I also like and dislike how the child of assassin's are put into the group at such a young age. Let's be realistic for a moment. By the age of 8 a organization comes and takes your child away, of course you would know what's going on but what about the child? By the age of 8 a child has already formed a bond - a connection with their parents. I would assume that so many questions are running through this child's head, Who are you people? Why are you taking me away from my family? Why isn't mommy stopping this? or am I ever going to see them again? This must have been vary traumatic for Hayato and not to mention, where is this child's father and what would his father say about strangers taking his oldest son away? Also the sister must have something to say as well, where is my older brother at? I just wish the creator would have put more into the story pertaining to the emotions of Hayato and the emotions of the family in that moment. Let's continue, Despite all that he must stay in the organization till they have children or till they die.

Let's move on to his Relationship. All I could find is that he is married to Hotaru Uzumaki and has two children, Minako Hyuga (Daughter) and Kojo Hyuga (Son). I really love how it's not a popular cannon character (I find that annoying and a waist of a ship) the creator took their time out to make a OC (or their friend took the time) to be paired with their main oc. I think that OC x OC ships are amazing and should be approached more, but that's just me.

Let's get to his personality. I'm not a fan of simple personality descriptions. They made Hayato's personality all choppy and it's hard to read but here we go! From what it says, Hayato enjoys The Winter, Loneliness, Ramen, Training and Testing new weapons. I dont really see how this part of his personality is different from your average "Loner" OC. It's vary one dimensional. I'm not a big fan of the "Loneliness" part. This makes it seem like he doesn't enjoy the aspects of love and compaction for himself or anybody (He has a family so I would assume that he doesn't like the concept of true loneliness) It would have been better if they would have said "Hayato enjoys his space and being left alone for a some time", personal I think that sounds better. He dislikes Embarrassment, Pork, being distracted, impulsive people, and.... Sammer? Alright, his dislikes are better because it feels more human. Nobody enjoys embarrassment or being distracted. Not many people like pork tbh and he's a assassin, so it just normal for him to not like impulsive people. Impulsive people have a high percentage of having the team fail because of their reckless behavior. Your a assassin, swiftness and stealth is the key to success. Let's continue with his personality, mood and behavior wise. Back to the Loneliness thing, It says that "He likes loneliness because it helps him focused on new ideas and make important decisions" This simply means that he likes to be alone because it gives him time to think not the fact that he only feels loneliness. "He can be cold sometimes and distant" This is nice to hear because at least he's not SASUKE! "But he can get worried when it comes to his mates being in harm's way or needing help" That's nice too because this shows that he cares about his love ones and he will take himself out of being alone to do what's right for his family and friends. I would also love to know if his personality traits are hereditary or his personality is a influence on his experience growing up. Who knows? would his personality be a lot more cheerful and positive if he would have grew up with his parents?, Would his personality be a product of his environment?, or are his emotions and personality the same as his parents? His parents likes and dislikes paused on genetically to Hayato?, I'd love to know that!

Let's see about his Jutsu, Chakra Nature and Abilities. So far I could find nothing. All I found was that he can use Earth, Wind, and Fire (Cue September opening lol joke) Releases. It's a shame that I couldn't see or read what he could do, ability wise. It would have been really really cool.

Ok, I've dissected this OC in and out and I have to say I really like this OC. This is honestly a well balanced OC. He's not like most of the male OCs I find who either are overpowered, depressed, Revenge seeking all powerful god level men. He's balanced and I'm happy to say that I do like this character a lot.

Appearance: 9.8/10 History/Background: 7/10 Relationships: 9.9/10 Personality: 6/10 Chakra/Abilities/Jutsu: NO REAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS SO I CAN'T GIVE A RATE!

FINAL DECISION: Well balanced OC with a lot potential. Can use a a bit more work, personality wise but besides that, this is a great OC

japan is goals tbh asdffghjk i miss eating katsudon and i didn't rlly get to do much more bcs the person accompanying me was like those people who turn out to be complainers of everything? i didn't get to see all the activities in the tower due to it nor visit the hot springs! #never again; i got around well in a way tho bcs i knew a very small bit of japanese at the time tho bcs very few people know basic english there. oh and the nara deer are so cool and the foxes in miyagi! i got to hold one

honestly speaking the most costly i got there was the plane ticket and the train bullet tickets. food was about (im doing this in euros bcs im not from the usa so i dont know approx. but there's converters online right?) 5-11€ in average usually unless you wanted to go to a specific gourmet restaurant or smth. also the water is free usually. costs are ofc higher in tokyo : for example a water bottle there is 110 ¥ and in kyoto its 100 ¥. but all worth it.

needless to say i almost went broke bcs i bought the asl plushies (the kid version and i had to go to osaka too for the other two missing from the trio) and i also got an ace figure. sabo merhandise tho you're either early to get the worm or pay the price later. at the tower there was very few merch left of sabo bcs HUNGRY FANGIRLS EVERYWHERE. like even in the line to enter you could see girls with their clothes and bags full of pins of either zoro, sanji or sabo. like dozens of them.

speaking of going tho i believe october is the low season for prices? when i went in april i payed like app 2000 € in total but for the plane alone rn it should be like half of it? 600€-700€ so in USD that should be like 700-800$ right? but yeah people stare lots, i guess its bcs foreigners are too noticeable even in mannerisms or dressing codes? idk.

It may make you angry, but I'm from Poland and I can't stand the fluffy-pinky-gay image of my country in Hetalia fandom. We're one of the most traditionalist country in the EU, a man would be probably beaten if he went outside in a fucking skirt. It sounds still ridiculous for me that two people of the same gender can marry, because it's illegal here.

Wow um, that doesn’t really make me angry i guess just?? a little taken off guard by this weirdly hostile ask out of nowhere lol. But here’s what I have to say:

I’m not sure how long you’ve been familiar with my blog or if u just decided to yell at a hetalian today and chose me at random, but I wouldn’t really classify myself as a fan of the “fluffy-pinky-gay image” of APH Poland either tbh. It actually makes me really upset when people just want to stereotype him as such based on the image that the fandom has dubbed for him, and instead overlook all of his history, struggles, triumphs, culture, and basically everything “Polish” about him. If you knew me you’d know I’m actually one of the most angry and disappointed people in the fandom at this because it constantly infuriates me with the way he gets categorized simply by the way hima drew him.

Idk there is so much to address in this ask I’m struggling to try and write this as eloquently as possible but forgive me i’m doing this at work so i may sound a lil jumbled. The deal is, it’s actually pretty problematic when people want to erase all that Feliks is and represents and just paint him up as “the gay character” or “transv****te cross-dresser” simply because he wore a skirt in a strip that made him fit that stereotype. There is so much potential to his character as far as depth and exploration goes that is often horribly skewed or ignored by other hetalians in favor of just reducing him down to “fabulous valley girl.” And to be quite honest its pretty ooc, but thats more of a different topic for another time.

Don’t get me wrong, I have a few qualms with hima myself and some of the problematic content that he’s decided to include in hetalia, but if you pay attention to Canon Feliks vs Fanon Feliks, you’ll notice alot of the “fluffy-pinky-gay image” has been forced onto him by young (lowkey homophobic) fans. The way Feliks acts in canon (if you take away the over-use of the “valley girl accent” that the translator chose to assign to him to match w/e Japanese dialect hima was trying to give him) you could actually interpret many things differently. By doing so, it’s much easier to see how strong, tough, charismatic, loyal, trusting, and deep he actually is. You see his strengths, his faults, his mistakes, his victories, his growth as a character, nation, and person over the years. You can see moments of happiness, sorrow, silliness, seriousness, moments of weakness, moments of power, moments of worry, moments of confidence, love, hate, regret, revenge, but above all...perseverance. So trust me, it makes me just as confused and angry when people want to ignore what a diverse -if not somewhat ironic/conflicting- character he is and instead change him around to fit what they want to see him as. I wish he was treated with more respect.

However

I understand how traditional the “real’ Poland is, believe me. I’ve been in this fandom for many years and you’re not the first “””real polish person”” I’ve seen get angry over aph poland. You’re not alone.

The thing about hetalia though, is that it is just an anime. All told through the views and thoughts of a japanese man. The story is intended to be a light comedy making fun of nationality stereotypes while simultaneously celebrating the history, culture, and people of each said nation. The intention, as I’ve also taken it (or choose to take it anyway), is to take the setup for these lovable, flawed characters, and kind of???? have fun with them per say...

People are free to interpret things, events, practices, and the characters themselves how they choose (generally speaking anyways). I think there’s nothing wrong with that as long as it’s respectful and not gross in anyway (again, another topic). So therefore, there’s nothing wrong with headcanoning Feliks as being gay. I understand how “the real poland” is set up and what their laws are (though I don’t claim to be an expert or openly discuss them as I am not polish nor do i live there, so i feel that is not my place) but there are so many other things to take into consideration before you come off as homophobic yourself.

One thing to consider, is how the same thing could be said for well over half the nations. To claim that a hetalia character “can’t be gay” because of politicians and a government party’s standpoint is pointless and irrelavent tbh. I’ve always felt it?? weird to try and tie a nation down to a specific time period or law when they’ve been around for literally centuries, and have witnessed and believed in all different type of social norms and morals and laws that evolve and change as time progresses. Its actually pretty closed-minded to expect thousand year old nations to buy into every single detail of present-day customs and viewpoints. Many of the more conservative viewpoints of many nations around the world are relatively new ideas as far as strict practice goes in comparison to the personified character themselves. Something that’s been an enforced idea for the last 50 years or so could just feel like a month or two to an immortal being lmao. But again, I believe most of it is up to interpretation.

I don’t want to speak for the lgbt in poland, or any polish lgbt throughout history as i don’t feel i have the right or enough adequate knowledge to do so, but a hetalia nation is supposed to be sympathetic to and feel the struggles and pain and happiness and glory of all their citizens. Regardless of what the political standpoint of the country is on (I personally believe nations choose not to align themselves with political parties in general as a conflict of interest would ensue) hima has stated time and again that the nations also have the ability to be their own person, and have their own views and standpoints on things that might not match the “majority” of the current political climate (ex. Germany himself was shown to be annoyed with and hated dealing with Adolf Hitler). So it’s not really fair to pretend like a nation has never-looked-at-the-same-gender allllll throughout history just like it’s silly to presume that all people are StraightTM until proven otherwise. 

Canon APH Poland, Feliks Łukasiewicz, the man who likes pink, the man who doesn’t care about gender norms or what kind of fabric he puts on his body because he’s old and has obtained a certain level of nation wisdom enough to know that not only is gender a construct and there’s nothing shameful about “””feminine clothing”””” (even though clothes are just pieces of fabric meant to cover your body and dont have genders lol), but has also seen all kinds or fashion and different types of clothing all throughout history and has worn frilly neck ties, jewelry, heels, makeup, and capes back when those were once considered to be “”masculine”” at that time period as well and remembers how fucking good he used to look in that shit and after all he’s been through knows that he has the right to rock w/e the fuck he wants, the man who historically, legally, culturally, and personally married to another man, the man who still remembers his childhood before he even heard of Christianity, the man who had one of the most tolerant and flourishing commonwealths in history, the man who has such strong ties to the romantic period and who, as a nation, is much more complicated than mortal humans could ever hope to understand........is absolutely wonderful.

Now I’m sorry that lgbt representation and rights is lacking in Poland at the moment, as it is all over the world. Truly I am, and it makes me upset. I don’t know if you share those same homophobic and hateful views (your tone implies that you do), but the fight and struggle of the lgbt people is far to complicated and powerful to use as a playing chip on a silly Japanese cartoon, and i think basing a headcanon off of prejudice and hate like that is disrespectful to the nation, and to bringing that into a cartoon is disrespectful to the lgbt struggle as well and belittles it all tbh. But as i said before, that topic is best left for another day.
