Just saw the leaks of the new chapter and.....well, this is it for me then

I was holding myself back (desperately) from taking a look. In fact, I really wanted to stop looking at leaks and wait for one chapter normally but once my friend started spamming me and I saw the messages...

I'll put everything behind the cut for those who do not wish to be spoiled. Let's just say that I'm moved. Gege killed me.

Ok, so. Wow. I don't know where to start lmfao.

I was doubtful, anon. I was so, so doubtful how this story is progressing and what the hell was even happening. In fact, I also made peace with the fact that maybe whatever the hell was happening between Yuuji and Sukuna was never going to be addressed (because, oh well, who cares), Sukuna will kick the bucket and Yuuji won't even look at him, etc.

Only for Gege to deliver everything I was hoping for.

I don't know why some Sukuna fans are disappointed by this chapter. Yes, he is put in a pathetic position, despite practically carrying the narrative on his back and being this incredible villain but "looking cool" and "being powerful" had consequences in this manga (points at Gojo).

I, as a Sukuna fan, am not dissatisfied because I love him whether he's cool or pathetic. Tbh, I'm really happy! because I always believed that both of them were pretending and that it was about damn time the masks fell. It was about damn time these two saw each other for who they truly were.

And Yuuji accepted him!!! He said "lets try one more time", not "go rot in hell". He broke the cycle because he had grown to understand him. Not hate, but love. Accepting. Empathetic. Being everything no one in this narrative was able to give to Sukuna and therefore failed in reaching him.

Now, on the other hand, this was also the final proof I needed for my theory that these two were always twins (that the uncle/nephew through reincarnation was just a lie because, again, this never got mentioned again and is barely given relevance) but because Sukuna had rejected such fate, Yuuji didn't get born alongside him, but got born in a totally different era. By eating his twin- stealing Yuuji's fate- Sukuna got born in the wrong era (the era of peace) while Yuuji got thrown into the hell that is the modern world (and he has Sukuna to thank for that). They practically switched destinies (hence why Yuuji talks about matters of chance) and are both living at the wrong time, yet living at the wrong time had gotten them to this point, where both got what they wished for. Sukuna - strength. Yuuji - company.

The way the narrative did a very clever switch is also lowkey messing me up. Considering Sukuna is Yuuji (what Yuuji tells Sukuna), then their personalities are basically switched. They're true reflections of each other- Sukuna shows who Yuuji is, and Yuuji shows who Sukuna is. It's Sukuna who wanted company while Yuuji wanted strength.

This explains their contradicting behavior. How Sukuna understands love yet says it's worthless (but never elaborates) and also explains how Yuuji was incredibly strong in his youth, why he couldn't understand why his grandfather is choosing euthanasia (if he cared for others viewpoints, he would've known why) and why he's constantly shouting "it should be me" yet constantly sending people to death and not killing himself.

And yes, I know this isn't confirmed but atp it's pretty believable more so than the uncle/nephew thing.

Yuuji sees Sukuna in such a state and doesn't mock him, doesn't hate him and as someone who expected Yuuji to just straight up start laughing at him (because I know how severely Sukuna is hated by this fandom and this is what the fans were expecting) this was already a big win for me. An even bigger win was Yuuji telling him to try one more time. Hell, he says "even if no one accepts you, I will live on with you"! Hello!?!!??!!!!?!? That's practically pure love right there. Seeing him like this and yet still accepting him... that's actually really deep. If it was anyone else in Yuuji's shoes, they wouldn't act that way. (Hell, just look at this fandom itself. People love ideas, but close their eyes to the truth. They love power, but once that power is gone, they're quick to jump ship and escape or think "That can't be right".)

I love this chapter truly because I always had an inkling Sukuna was projecting this entire time, as was Yuuji. There's a reason, after all, why he escaped from him and looked for a "better vessel" and why Yuuji was putting on a front this entire time (about being caring and living for every single moment) while at the same time willing to eat a finger (like it was no biggie), eat his half-brothers and "want to die" yet not die.

And now the truth is exposed? Sukuna is Yuuji. Yuuji is Sukuna. They've inverted their destinies, fulfilled their dreams (Yuuji had come to connect with people finally, Sukuna had come to achieve incredible strength and not be a weakling), and finally managed to understand each other. Sukuna understood how Yuuji felt all this time and Yuuji had grown to understand how Sukuna felt all this time and why he's telling him this in the first place.

It's genuinely beautiful.

Even if the "we were twins" theory of mine is debunked, them not being twins just adds even more beauty to this. They didn't need to be born together to understand each other. Hell, if they were born like that, the fate which would've awaited them would probably be similar to what happened with Maki and Mai.

Yet they were different. They survived.

i do believe that gavi and ana are dating. he did kiss ana on the cheek at the game, and it DID look kind of intimate in the way you are with a partner. ana also accompanied his brother and sister to the game, which is very telling imo. he didn't greet her in that video of them standing in a circle with these random guys, but on the other hand he didn't greet his siblings either. atp i'm just waiting for HIM to actually hard launch something and post a picture with her by himself, bc up until now it has only been paparazzi, fans or gavi's family who posted pictures or videos of them together.

since you mentioned pedri in your ask i assume that you ship him with gavi (which is okay!!! i do too lol, gavi is very shippable, with a lot of different people). that's why i agree on your statement about him and pedri 💀 when i watched the game i genuinely thought they kissed each other for a sec lol, and even without that it was a very romantic moment tbh.

since i know (from experience) what the tumblr community thinks about specific groups of shippers, including real people shippers, i try to not post about it on here too much or try to do it in a lowkey way. but at the end of the day it's all fun and games. as long as you're not harassing or commenting on the posts of any of the people involved, it shouldn't be problematic to ship people irl.

i do want to reiterate that i don't support hate towards ana or any other person gavi, or other footballers or idols or actors or singers or whoever tf you ship, date. i get how everyone is there for gossip when it comes up, i am too, but that is no invitation to harass that woman. especially because ana isn't a public person. at the end of the day we do not know these people. like AT ALL. whatever we think we know about them is just a fragment of their lives and might just be delusion that people developed from having their shipping goggles on.

I'm not even gonna venture onto DR twitter rn cause I know the Plane hate will piss me off. Like... I completely understand not liking what she said or agreeing with it! But it pisses me off when people call someone racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic (you get the idea) for no reason when whatever they said just doesn't warrant that reaction?? at first I was mostly annoyed by the fact that people just blew everything completely out of proportion (imo-- cause I really don't understand how "I don't vibe with this person" becomes "I think this person and everyone similar to this person is not valid"- ???). but then they started calling pj things that she's clearly not (there's multiple videos of her saying she loves women and lesbians, hello?). and I somewhat understand why seeing someone who's a white cis gay man being skeptical of a lesbian artist feeds into the narrative of gay men excluding queer women from queer spaces--- but that's literally not what pj did. and you're right, she did mention that she heard from local queens that had worked with chappell in the past that she wasn't the nicest (not sure how true this is, but if that's what she heard who am i, or anyone, to deny that).

and the worst part is that now they're using this to bring up past FALSE allegations against her. it's pretty obvious atp that these people don't actually care to defend the reason this whole discourse started for, they just want pj cancelled and gone. I've literally seen people just go on and on about how shitty of a person (they think) she is instead of defending lesbians or queer women who do drag. they don't care about queer women.

I’m going to avoid giving too much spoilers for OTR but it’s once again one of the best fics on here 😭

The pacing was perfect and I didn’t notice this during the teaser but the inclusion of Hyunjae and hj!yn in the bg was such a cute detail and I absolutely ADORE how alive this whole series feels because of small inclusions like that and the interweaving of the stories even if they’re just small mentions just adds so SO much life into each story!

I know that series are supposed to be like that but most people typically don’t have callbacks to their previous characters or chapters/stories especially if it’s a multi member series which is totally fine but you just went the extra mile for this series which I really appreciate!

I’m so obsessed with your writing and I hope you get all the attention for both parts of OTR (will forever hate tumblr for what they put you through smh) so everyone please make sure to not only like both parts but also reblog both parts as well! 🥹

he understands tbh. like i dont think he necessarily is fixated on it but i think BASIL would be and BASIL is his best friend so he hears a lot about death,, specifically the decomposition process

he doesn't think you're weird for it, but he's a little scared of death and what it means so maybe it helps if you talk about it with him casually

i think SUNNY is the type of fella to want to just. be in the frozen meat section at the grocery store because he had a weird obsession with raw meat and butchery n knives and stuff. so he understands the fixation

if you tell him little facts and things about death and decomposition he's probably a little unsettled but he'll listen nonetheless. he likes listening to people even if it's about rotting corpses

honestly since the incident he's kind of scared of death, and hates thinking about dead bodies

AUBREY

she's definitely thinks ur a lil weirdo but you're her lil weirdo

doesn't really get some aspects of it but she has her own weird little interests,, like violence. and stealing. she's weird herself so she has no place to talk

if ur ranting or freaking out about your fixation she'll listen intently and kinda nod her head and wait for u to finish before she says anything. honestly she thinks anything ur interested in is cool

she appreciates it if you come with her to MARI's grave. even if it has nothing to do with death, she knows you won't be unsettled or weirded out being in a graveyard and u two leave flowers for her

i'm imagining her like coming to your house and saying "i saw a dead animal on the way here" and when u take her to go see it she complies but she looks away from it and goes blegh

idk i feel like he'd just go oh okay :D like he doesn't mind

he's kind of worried that ur like mentally unstable or something but he's used to being around unwell people atp,, look at his friends

he doesn't really like to think about death. thinking about what happens afterwards and all that just gets him anxious so he tries to avoid thinking about it. he'll probably appreciate if you tell him not to worry about that kinda stuff or something

if you like. idk want to visit a graveyard or a morgue or something like that or if your eyes spark when you hear about someone dying on the news he'll be again a little confused but he knows you mean well and always tags along wherever you go

he's kinda worried about u but he doesn't say anything. everyone has their own little interests and sometimes weird aspects! it's what he likes about you, how you go along so casually as if you didn't just say the most horrific fact he's ever heard

HERO

like KEL he's a lil worried but he calms down if it's just a weird interest and not like. mental illness

he likes seeing your eyes light up whenever your interest is mentioned, even if it's strange,, and he'll politely listen and talk to you about death even if it's not his favorite thing to chat about

HERO prefers id you don't talk about decomposition or any body stuff around him,, he has a weak stomach but he's up for chatting about the afterlife and psychological things about death

he's kinda scared of what comes after death but he just ignores it,, no need to worry about that anytime soon! hopefully

he's great at accepting flaws and weird parts of people, so while he does think it's a little weird to be fascinated with death he doesn't mind :D
