i was watching bluey the other day and i had the same thought- who would’ve thought that that one ep would’ve influenced / inspired a whole four fic series, loving your brain, loving TBART, loving this fandom

All this love is actually make me melt

A fun fact is that 2.5 episodes have directly influenced TBART. The cafe episode, the bike episode (I mean COME ON!!! it's about getting back up & trying again even when you wanna give up!!!) and one conversation from a different ep 🤭

hey so ignore if i sent this a couple of hours ago..i honestly can’t remember if i did or not!!

but for the fanfic ask, a bit of a mixture of two questions..headcanon and free form i guess. as there was a bit of a time jump from sbtp to ptwp i’ve always wondered how they told riley they were dating and how riley reacted, did she understand, ask questions etc. and also when and where did they say i love you for the first time. also has peter come in from patrol injured yet (i think you briefly mentioned he had in chapter 6??) anyway, would love to know your headcanons on any of these! loving the to be a real thing series, i always look forward to new chapter updates, we’re so lucky to have had 2 this week!

1) how did they tell riley/how did she react?

There's a 6 month timeskip between SBTP and PTWP. Riley has known for about 2 months by the start of PTWP.

They introduced MJ as MJ, a friend of the family etc, rather than as Leah's aunt at group functions etc, and then about 4 months in, Peter sat down with her to explain it.

In my mind, Riley took it as MJ was going to be around more, and made the connection to Flash&Ned but bc MJ didn't live with them, she sometimes forgot. For the first few times MJ was around in the mornings, Riley reverted back to her shyer behaviour.

Overall, not perfect and was a work in progress!

I was really tempted to start the fic from the point of them telling Riley, but ultimately decided them figuring out the shape of that family and everyone accepting the permanence of it was more exciting for me to write

He's fine... just a lil bit of a busted lip, it'll heal 😌would take more than that to bring him down 😌
