There have been so many moments in my life where I really needed to feel the presence of God. I needed to know He was there with me, that I was making the right choice, that I wasn’t facing these trials alone. But I felt, heard and saw nothing. Sometimes, if I’m honest, I wondered if God had left me. I would think that maybe I went down the wrong path, and He was thinking, “Nope. Not going there with her. Hasta la vista, I’m heading back to heaven.” • But that’s not true at all. The bible says: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 • In those moments, when there is no tangible proof God is right there with you, this is when your faith will be tested and where you will grow closer to God than you ever have been. Here’s what I want you to do: You can’t hear Him, so let Him hear you. You can’t feel Him, so seek His face. You can’t see Him, so let Him see your praise. Yes, this is what I encourage you to do in those times: praise Him, say in faith, “ God, you ARE here with me,” keep praying and having quiet times reserved for you and Him, and read the word, reminding yourself of the truth. • This isn’t a formula to get what you want, but this will keep your faith strong when you want to give up hope. It will keep you focused on Christ, and that’s ultimately what will be your strength in these times. Stand in faith. Be encouraged. I’ve been there, some days I still go through this, so let me remind you that God loves you so much. • Seek out the goodness of God in your life. There IS good, and that is God. Lord, help me to love my family better. • We all fall short in our lives. You know it as well as I do. Our best efforts are not enough, and that’s why we need the Lord’s help. The good news is He is with us (John 16:13). • I used to feel ashamed to ask for help from God because I felt like I was bothering Him or that I was failing His expectations of me. Do those thoughts sound like they came from God? They did not, and the Lord was quick to remind me that Jesus died for me to be able to come to the Father without hesitation. Jesus opened the door for us to come to God at anytime of the day, in any place we are, and through any circumstance around us. • Many people have told me we should have an order in the way we come to God. First, praise; second, gratitude; third, repentence and lastly, asking requests. I think all those things are good, but I feel sometimes I focus more on the first three because they seem holier than asking God for help. In reality, humbling yourself to say, “God, I cannot do this alone,” is a state of heart that is pleasing to the Lord too. (Psalm 25:9) • Recently, I have asked God to help me love my family better. This is one place I struggle often and need more of Him. Today, I want you to know it’s okay to ask for God’s help in this life (Psalm 121:1-2). He’s there with you, waiting for you to come to Him (Psalm 46:1). We need God to follow God! • If you are struggling to break an addiction, come to Jesus (Psalm 50:15). If you have a hard time obeying God, come to Jesus. (Psalm 143:10) If you can’t see how to fix your relationship, come to Jesus. (Psalm 24:4-5) If you feel empty, come to Jesus (Psalm 23). God will not give up on you so don’t give up on yourself. • God has a specific purpose for each of us but without fail the enemy tries to turn our cheek to the left and right so we swerve off the path God has set before us, or stop running altogether. The enemy wants us distracted and discouraged so we take our eyes off Jesus, who enables us to do the impossible and empowers us to run this race. What the enemy fails to understand is that we do not run alone. • When the enemy puts blockades in front of you, God yells, “JUMP OVER IT! You can do it, I’m with you!” When people from the crowd say or do things that take you off guard, God shouts, “DON’T LOOK AT THEM! Listen to me, Child. Follow me, I’ll show you where to go and how to do what I’ve called you to do.” When things begin to happen all around you, the Lord says to you, “Do not fear for I am with you, Do not be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteousness right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) • Princesses, be encouraged on this day. I know life comes with many challenges, but keep going, continue to praise God in every circumstance. He will surely help you in all that you have to do. He will give you wisdom, grace, and faith on this journey. Don’t quit. Don’t loose focus. God will not leave you. A friend loves at all times • Friends can be such a gift to us, but they can also do or say things that hurt us. My heart has often come to grief at the actions of friends. I know I am a sensitive soul, but there are times I just don’t like my friends very much! Even so, God does not allow me to wallow in self-pity for long. “Why don’t you pray for them instead of complain about them?”, He say gently to my sore heart. • Princesses, for you who are hurting because of a friend, I encourage you to forgive. In friendship, any pride or walls built between you two, become poison to the soul. Go love and be reconciled with your friend. Find ways to be a blessing to them, even if you don’t feel like it. • “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Do not be afraid to share your testimony. Your story is a treasure map; it leads people to Jesus. — Do you know about the woman at the well? Jesus sat there and a woman approached, to retrieve water. In summary, He spoke to her, told of her life, about the living water and that He was the Messiah. She left her water, ran to the city and shared about this encounter with Jesus. John 4:39 says, “many believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony.” But after meeting Him, having time with Jesus in their city, the people later said to her, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.” - Imagine. This city welcomed Jesus because of the testimony of one woman. She didn’t have to tell the story of how she got saved. Rather, she spoke about the good news of Jesus, what He spoke to her and taught her, and the promise of eternal life. - Princesses, your testimony, your story with God is powerful. Don’t forget that or let fear say otherwise. Every single time God speaks or teaches you something, it is a miracle. Emmanuel! God is with us! How incredible is that? Share your story. Instead of complaining about your parents, start praying for them - When I was a teenager, I had a terrible relationship with my dad. He wasn't really around much when I was growing up because he was facing his own issues, but all I could see was how much he wasn't there for my mom and I. I had a lot of anger, for sure. But God wouldn't let me continue to dishonor my dad in my heart, my words nor my thoughts. He told me I needed to forgive my dad and to start praying for him. I didn't at first - too much pain - but with God's help I was able to begin that journey. - Right now, my dad and I have a great relationship because God told me to pray for him and love him. I couldn't even say this when I was 16 but I love my dad, I really do. Haha but don't get me wrong, he is far from perfect, he still does things that challenge my Christian attitude, but now I know he is not only my dad, he is God's son and I continue to pray for him. - God wants us to treat our parents as His children - to honor them in actions, in words, and in our attitude. It begins in the heart. You've know Jesus says to love our enemies, right? For some of you, your enemies are your parents (let's be real). I'm challenging you today to ask God to help you forgive your parents, for Him to heal your heart from any pain they've caused (or continue to cause you), and to teach you how to daily love the people that gave you life. There is no better place to be than where God sends you. - The road may be difficult to travel, may take a lot of courage to walk, and may have many obstacles trying to hold you back but listen when God says to GO. It's better to take His hand and take risks than to stay put because of fear. It's like the master who gave coins to his servants when he left home. Perhaps one of the greatest battles is from the bed to the closet. - I love the movie "The War Room"! After watching it, I started praying in my closet too. Some days though, I noticed it was so tempting to just stay in bed, covers over my head, and pray from my pillow. The struggle is real, ya'll! However, on the days I fought my own flesh to walk into my war room, it was powerful. I'm reminded of the day Jesus was about to be taken to the cross and he asked his disciples to pray with Him. They fell asleep... more than once! It's a sacrifice to stay up, to pray, to have communion with God, but in those times we do get into our secret place with Him, it changes our lives and others. The closet is symbolic of intimate time with Christ, its not necessarily about location. In any case, there is a battle against that time because our enemy and our flesh are fighting what our spirit wants but whatever your alone time with God looks like, I encourage you to keep fighting for it. Even if you have to knock down your own self to get there! Nothing is more important than winning this war. - "Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. God is not slow, He is patient. — “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 ESV - God is patient, not in a rush like we are, and wise in the pace He walks in. His ways are higher than ours, His thoughts are greater. When His Spirit is in you and there is a fire burning in your heart to be used by Him for His glory, to help the broken, to go to the nations, you must remember He cares so much about you that He will take time to prepare you before He sends you. You may not be walking in your promises yet, but know He hasn’t forgotten, He is just patient. Tending to your soul like a gardener. Taking out the weeds and planting deep seeds. - My encouragement to you, Princesses is to be patient as He works. Step into His pace, pause and pray, wait on Him and let Him lead the way. It might take you longer to get to where you are going, but wouldn’t you much rather walk miles with Jesus than take the shortcut alone? :) - Remember, the Lord is your Shepherd. Put your faith in His wisdom and in His ways. Remain humble, in repentance, forgiving quickly and seeking Him always in all things. In His timing, you will see blossoms springing forth in your life. For now, let us rejoice. Make-up, nails polished, hair styled, matched garments, adored with jewels... - Some of you don’t know this, but I used to be a fashion model. Four years, it was my mission to follow Jesus to this dark place. God sent me from Los Angeles, to Chicago, and even London and I had opportunities to minister to many people during that season but it was so far from glamourous. Give even when you can’t afford to give. - “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:37-38 - Something that has always fascinated me is how opposite God’s Kingdom is from our world. If you want to be forgiven, you need to forgive. If you want to be first, you need to be last. And the same goes with giving. When you have a need, that is when you give.— I personally have experienced this. Last year, I was really struggling to make ends meet. Financially, I just didn’t have much in my pocket. But I did have some. God told me to give a portion of what I had and to monthly support someone else in need. It wasn’t much, and it felt a bit embarassing because it was so little, but I listened even though it was a sacrifice. Do you know every month God provided extra for me? It didn’t make sense, but I always had what I needed. The opposite also happened to me a couple years ago. I had stopped a donation to this organization because I thought I couldn’t afford it, even though God had told me to donate to them. After I did that, I went through such a dry season with my finances. I started donating again, and suddenly random checks came in the mail! — All this to say, the kingdom of God is like algebra. If you follow the formula, it always stays true. Give = it will be given to you.
