i'm also gonna force a discussion about eyes open down everyone's throats. the lyrics obviously tie in well with the narrative on the hunger games but i always thought it was interesting to interpret it as a disillusionment with fame, especially considering it sits right between the speak now and red eras, sort of like a bridge between the optimism in long live (winning battles with our wooden swords!!!) and the weariness in the lucky one (everybody's waiting for you to breakdown)

it feels almost like foreshadowing for the reputation era like. so so so so so so so so so underrated

no because officially, eyes open and safe & sound are taylor’s songs for the hunger games soundtrack BUT unofficially, out of the woods, sweet nothing, willow, i know places, the lakes, treacherous, the archer, mirrorball, peace, THE GREAT WAR, are all songs that i could never ever separate from katniss and peeta and i love that for those of us who have been listening to taylor forever and got back into their hunger games phase this year !!!!!!
