I'm actually going to talk about it because yall aren't discussing this enough for me. Let's talk about how Blank Space is this over the top media version of taylor swift who is a master Maneater Heartbreakers psycho manic dream pixie girl and how every line of that song is biting and crafted to make fun of the entire narrative crafted around her but Mastermind is a soft admission that she does feel like the blank space girl internally because she's fucking autistic and she knows what people want, what men want in relationships, and she gives that to them in order to be loved, to be saved from her sadness- her feeling empty and like a doll inside, because she is suffering from emotional masking burnout- and all of them were neurotypical men who were abusers or just not what SHE wanted until she meets Joe (im pretty sure he's autistic as well) who is honest and kind and sees her, loves her creativity and isn't intimidated by her power (this is a trait I've only seen in autistic men) and she feels like she can finally let go of all her "scheming" because she proved to herself that she was able to be loved in all her different wonderful and horrible lights and I just want taylor to know that I see her and I understand her, I'm so happy so happy she found out how to live a life that is authentic and beautiful and filled with a deep connection between her and Joe that is genuine, that doesn't come from the mind games that neurotypicals call a relationship and is built a genuine desire to build a life together and for the other person. It's so pure and soft and the contrast between that tough exterior of blank space and the soft vulnerability of mastermind should be studied in a lab or something because it's truly her best, best Lyrical parallel she has ever ever written
