Taylor Hayes
Taking her stage name from her favourite character in "The Bold and the Beautiful", Taylor escaped an abusive family setting to work at the Cabaret Royale gentleman's club in Dallas, Texas. She was soon featured in a Penthouse 1994 male/female pictorial as a result of winning a local talent search. A second pictorial with Hustler soon followed, then a contract with VCA Pictures, then onto Vivid Entertainment in the late 1990's where she won Female Performer of the Year at the AVN Awards two years in a row. Stints on Playboy TV and a photo spread with Jenna Jameson and Briana Banks in Vanity Fair magazine followed. After retiring in 2002, she tried working in the mainstream film industry and appeared in the B-movies "Animal Instincts III" and "Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain". She briefly returned to the adult film industry in 2005.

Ridge aka The Waffle or The Waffler as played by Ronn Moss and his stunning cheekbones. Brooke Logan played by Katherine Kelly Lang and Taylor Hayes played by Hunter Tylo. The unnecessarily incessant triangle of doom.

They recast Taylor again. Must have really had some beef with Krista... Anyway, Rebecca Budig it is then. I know her by name only, so no idea what to expect.

I've been inspired to make another blog! Currently watching this storyline play out on YouTube, and man, I have comments! If you like long dissertations about soap operas come back to my page for the link to my other blog. Should be finished setting it up this week!

These Brooke and Taylor scenes from yesterday and today are a dream come true. Sitting here giggling just like them.
This will not last because Rat Bell won't let us enjoy things for too long so I'm eating this up while we get it.

Bold and the Beautiful: Taylor's Straddle Goes Sideways with Dirty Deed
Daring and the Stunning put Taylor Hayes in a compromising place with a therapeutic session that held extra that means behind it than some followers of the CBS cleaning soap first thought. The brokenhearted physician and her Chakra accomplice acquired up entrance, private, and manner too cozy. However B&B planted a twist with Ridge Forrester’s repair for his ex. What the viewers watched was…

The Taylor 3.0 recast is a weird one, and I'm not sure there's enough time to adjust to her before they change their minds and write her out again.
And honestly, Ridge 2.0 still doesn't feel like Ridge either, even after all these years.
But, Tridge was my original childhood ship, and here they are with two out of three grandkids and there was a time when we thought we'd never get to see that... So I had to gif it.

Morgan, Ridge, Taylor and the Almighty Stephanie Forrester
I'll admit, I've been on vacation the last two weeks and not keeping up with this storyline like I intended. But I haven't forgotten a single thing I've seen, and I still want to talk about it.
Let's take it back; the year is 2000. And the fab, fashionable clothing designer Morgan DeWitt has found herself in a dangerous situation of her own making. She was pregnant with her high school ex's baby, one Ridge Forrester. And that would be fine and all, except that she kind-of, sort-of tricked him into getting her pregnant. Stay with me now (*nervous laughter).
Morgan's best friend at the time was Ridge's then wife, Taylor. Who she'd confided in about being pressured to terminate a pregnancy as a teenager. I'm almost certain Taylor had no idea her husband was the father in that situation (I don't remember either Ridge or Morgan informing Taylor of the past). While Morgan was taking her *bestie* on an ivf journey to help her heal, she was also plotting to make Ridge the father of her next child.
First, she asked Taylor and Ridge if he could be her sperm donor for ivf. I just want to say, that asking your friend's husband to father your child is low down and disgusting. With context included, I really still hate that she asked them.
Of course they said no, as any two people even slightly in their right mind would do. Now we're getting to the part that I really want to discuss. Taylor had an emergency with her father and had to leave town in a hurry. Morgan, her best friend, used the intensity of the situation to trick Ridge. She staged an email where Taylor gave her ‘permission‘ so to speak for Ridge to father Morgan's child. So they went to the back and did what they do, and Morgan got pregnant. Now let's get to the nitty gritty.
The number one problem I have with this entire storyline is that Morgan was asking for Ridge to be a participant in the ivf process. How did that suddenly turn into sleeping together? The fact that that never occurred to Ridge just confirms to me that even when he tries to think with the right head, it's still pretty impossible.
Secondly…the more I look at Taylor as a character, the more I just don't understand the woman. So she's spent, about a decade to this point I think, pushing other women off of Ridge like their flies. Only to allow an ex girlfriend to become close to them, as a family. I'd understand her being Taylor's friend, more than involved with the entire family. And I cannot emphasize enough that I do not understand her being Taylor's friend in the first place.
Morgan and Ridge didn't have some quick fizzle of a romance in high school. They never broke up at all, Morgan just disappeared. That fact alone should've been enough to keep Taylor away from her. There was too much ambiguity in their previous relationship. Morgan should've been casted off to the side.
Now let's talk about what inspired this dissertation in the first place; Mrs. Stephanie Forrester. What she brought to this storyline I will sum up with one word, chaos. Stephanie is one of the most chaotic and polarizing women to ever touch daytime TV. She's been in every nook and cranny of this storyline, and she hasn't been ‘grandmotherly’ or only an observer. Oh no, Stephanie must be an active participant.
Ridge didn't know that he'd gotten Morgan pregnant as a teenager. He discovered that in adulthood. But Morgan had confided in a member of the Forrester family about her pregnancy; Stephanie. And Stephanie hauled her off to that clinic so fast I feel she must've suffered whiplash. And what did Stephanie do when she discovered that Morgan was pregnant with her son's child again? She went over to Morgan's house, and tried to slip a termination pill into her drink. Without her consent.
I used to really like Stephanie's character. I used to really believe that Stephanie stood for what was right. But every now and then, being a fan of hers will require me to cover my eyes and pretend to not be seeing what I'm seeing. Whoa, was this one of those times. The look on Stephanie's face as she sat on Morgan's couch, plotting to give her that pill…it was something out of American Psycho.
It was for the best that she never got to commit this act, or share thoughts of doing it to other people. The writers were nice and calculating in those times. We as viewers, can largely ignore what we've seen, if it doesn't benefit our vision of our favorite characters. And so long as no one else knows about their atrocities, whether thoughts or actions. Imagine the enormous load the writers would've had to carry trying to redeem Stephanie in the eyes of her family! Ridge did make a similar proposition, I must admit, when he discovered Morgan was pregnant. But that was a conversation he actually had with her. As opposed to taking matters into his own hands.
I say all this to say…damn those were the good times! I quite enjoy going on the roller coaster of loving a character to hating them. After all, we are talking about daytime soaps!
