It is time I introduce to Tumblr an AU I've been working on with @zimloaf 🙏😈

the AU is pretty simple, it's an au where all the kids from Gumball's class join him in a roleplay about superheroes (and supervillains.)

we already have a few roles, like the comeback of Laserheart and The smooch

(don't mind me having zero references aside doodles)

But we also have others! Like The paladin of Love and her cousin, bloom bomb (Penny and Leslie)

Or our evil supervillains Heartbreaker and Pokerface!

Or others, like our kind civilian Carmen, who keeps trying to help with charities and such or other like "The Terminator" or bobert, for short.

And more, but that is for zim to say since he's the one who worked on the other's designs.

Each one of them has a hero/villain backstory that might match with others or not.

For example:

Buttt, yeah we can go in depth later. This is merely an introduction.

We've got a LOT with this for a silly roleplay au.

Also disclaimer: their human designs will vary depending if it's from me or Zim, since we both have two different versions of them.

Mr. Small turned up his nose, “Now Gumball, that’s not a very appropriate way to address your peers.”

“Why not? It’s true.” They remarked, “I’m a ▇▇.”

“And that’s certainly not how you talk to a teacher!”

“I’m a ▇▇ too!” Molly chipped in.

“Me too!” Tobias screamed, “I’m a huge ▇▇!”

“I’d be surprised if I wasn’t…” Carrie gloomed, “A ▇▇ I mean.”

“Children, children!” Mr. Small cried, “Please don’t use such harsh language! Have some respect for yourselves!”

“Is there something wrong with being a ▇▇, Mr. Small?” Penny asked.

“No, no. It’s just…”

Sooo i heard TAWOG is gonna get a new season and a movie. Why do i only hear this now? That's my show, my baby, my unknowing hypervixation, my everything and nothing. Anyway was watching an episode with Molly in it the "The Stories" where she liked told stories and like bored everyone and stuff. Then i noticed that at the end when they made her a very interesting story with everyone like making sure she had something to tell from all the chaos that was around her, she retold it like boringly and like focusing on completely mundane things. Which valid, i get it we all focus on different things but like now my theory is that she actually had interesting things happen around her only she retells it uninterestngly. She had potential like when she told at the beginning of the episode that almost horror story. So maybe that actually was a horror story with her uncle only she retold it in her own boring way focusing on the faucet. Maybe i'm reaching but i like this little headcanon

One of my favorite subtle cosmic horror elements of The Amazing World of Gumball is that secondary characters are terrified of being boring.  It sticks out, because it'd be more expected for kids to worry that they're "annoying" or "not cool"... boring is an odd choice of descriptor.

In The Storm, Carmen temporarily breaks up with Alan because she fears their "perfect" love is becoming boring.  In The Colossus, Hector is sent over the edge by Gumball telling him he's boring.  Clayton admits his reason for habitual lying is because he's a loser, and all of his true stories aren't interesting.   Tobias feels like he should be entitled to a sidekick and exciting adventures, because he's rich and colorful and he's earned them, and yet his life is mundane.

It's not like they know what happens to you if you're too boring

But maybe they've got a sense of it in the back of their heads.
