Mayday's faction status right before and after the war ended is so up in the air and vague partially because she knew what treachery meant and couldn't ever face you know who like that. She didn't know if Tarn would grant her mercy due to their history or if time had rendered them strangers. Its only when they actually stumble across each other that the lack of brand is noticed and assessed.
I guess that's partially why I keep leaving their ending open ended like. Does she die. Does it haunt him in the back of his mind forever. Idk lol

Did Mayday ever see Damus before the frame change? Like him being an empuratae? 👀
Part of her old (pre-redesign/rework) backstory was to be directly involved in his frame change, but her role in that is GONE with the continuity switch.
She did know him pre-empurata, likely getting close to him before he started to spiral into who he is now, which explains why she still calls him Damus despite everything. I draw them all cute and happy, but there is an underlying sadness in watching someone you care about change into someone like Tarn. (When she did see him post-change, the first thing she did was hold his hands for as long as she could, just because it was so much easier for her to now.)
I'm still rewriting things on and off, but they kept in contact even after drifting apart with their different roles during the war. I've got a lot of emotions about them.
