@tardislemur replied to your post “The Crohn's-anon is back! I wanted to confirm that my good days by far...”
I could see him as part of an online support group/forum type thing for fibro or multiple chronic pain illnesses.
tsuna finding a place to vent online... The Ideal Situation...
reborn: you’ve been quiet lately. are you complaining online again tsuna: *dead facing* that’s not what it’s called but Yeah, Sure reborn: good. it’s healthy for you. and less stressful for the rest of us tsuna, laying back in bed, scrolling through tumblr and reblogging adorable animals and also aggressively fatalistic humor posts: great to hear reborn: now go to sleep it’s 4 am tsuna: i can’t this is self therapy i’m not Done yet tsuna: but i wish i could be tsuna: Done tsuna: With Everything reborn: ...are you sure this online support thing is even working? tsuna: i haven’t asked you about non-fatal bodily injuries in a month so i’m pretty sure it is tsuna: the internet has more answers than you do anyway reborn: i’m personally offended by this. reborn: start asking me again.
hibari probably follows tsuna’s blog for the adorable animals but keeps tryign to stop him from reblogging fatalistic humor. tsuna tells him to blacklist the damn tag. hibari refuses. that would mean admitting defeat. tsuna Must Stop.

I just re-read 'Apology Accepted' and it's implied that Ashoka knows Vader is Anakin? I found that odd, since I had just read in one of your answers here that Yoda was pretty much the only person alive who knew Vader's identity. (I think the question was whether Mon Mothma knew Ekkreth=Vader=Anakin?) Reconsidering, the "old pain" Needa sees could be from the Temple Massacre and/or other terrible acts Ani has done, but my initial impression is still she knew or at least suspects.
Yes indeed, I’ve gotten so many questions about this, lol!
Okay, so to clarify:
Yes, Ahsoka knows that Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker.
But she doesn’t know that Vader is Ekkreth. And she also doesn’t know that Anakin has children (which is the key piece of information that all of those people who are now dead possessed).
So there you have it. :) Apologies for the confusion! This ‘verse is so convoluted that I actually have a flowchart for myself showing who knows what and at what point in the timeline.

“What exactly being harmonized with two skies a the same time does to a...”
So if the Sky is gonna drain them of flame...why do the other Flame types want to Harmonize again? (Or is this another case of Mafia sorta-brain-washing itself to think it's good?)
honestly speaking, for the same reason someone might abuse substances... For The High..... okay maybe not JUST For The High, but i’m sure that’s part of it too
Word Of Scarlet effects of a harmonization bond:
a feeling of Rightness, a sense of balance and, ofc, Harmony, as well as the sensation of being ‘made whole’
which!! isn’t to say that individuals feel ‘incomplete’ without a harmony bond. they don’t. they just feel ‘more complete’ when bonded.
since harmonization usually can’t occur without rapport between two people, it helps strengthen relationships, platonic or otherwise
flame exchange goes both ways! the bond itself occupies a huge chunk of flames Permanently (which is where the drain comes into play), but the sky is still capable of transferring it back and forth
induces higher flame production to just barely offset the drain
it just makes you feel Good, tbh
is it actually Good? is it??
who thought it would be a good idea to link life energy together?? which fool did it first
mafia specific:
because the flame exchange CAN go both ways, mafia skies can use the bond to buff up their elements for Battle purposes
otherwise, the sky uses that stored flame themselves. for battle purposes.
thanks to the harmony aspect, helps Keep Elements In Line. not mind control, but some lowkey intense compulsion of the sort that might make you want to sacrifice yourself for your sky.
you’d be hardpressed to find properly harmonized guardians actively defying their Sky.
mafia skies basically inadvertently construct their own mini-hiveminds
they’re all Okay with this
kakishima specific:
mostly emphasizes the rapport aspect of a harmony bond
honestly, kakishima does not exemplify the harmony bond as much as the mafia does
whatever they DO talk about, it’s partly a remnant of the giotto’s teachings. they don’t need it for battle, they have no need for guardians and sky leaders, it’s just A Thing that would be Neat if it Happened.
which is partly why there’s so little stuff taught about it. the BOND is considered pretty neat, but most everyone also thinks the skies themselves are kinda weird. (except the ones who ARE bonded, of course.)
kakishima is bigger on Resonance bonds, since they don’t require a Sky. all major clans have resonance fields which helps with internal unity and works as a clan-specific alarm-system. and stuff.
arcobaleno specific:
allows the sky arcobaleno to transfer their own life force to the rest of the arcobaleno
harmonization as a concept was originally made to aid in the flame collection process to power the trinisette stones, which in turn feed flames into the earth, etc etc keep the lightbulb burning
originally only the arcobaleno were ever harmonized
somewhere along the way, someone realized (.......Somehow) that it would be a Great way to Fight, because humans are like that
no major effects on the vongola or mare rings
all of this is veeery lore-specific. iib’s particular lore is that Heaven and Earth used to be The Only Two Flames, Earth split into earth, glacier, forest, etc etc etc, while Heaven split into sky, storm, cloud, etc. (because, again, Humans Are Just Damn Crazy Like That.) harmonization ‘brings them back together’, so to speak, which is where the feeling of ‘Rightness’ and ‘Wholeness’ comes from. Earth flame harmonization feels a bit different though.

@tardislemur replied to your post “tardislemur replied to your post “What exactly being harmonized with...”
(assuming I've understood that bit of canon correctly.)
So'd how'd Damon plot against Giotto?
generally unheard for a septet member to defy their sky. and, technically speaking, in iib at least, daemon didn’t plot against giotto himself, just against the simon. ‘tried to’ being the keyword here.
giotto stepping down has little to do with daemon or simon or anything. people change, vongola changed, and it became something that wasn’t what he intended it to be... on the one hand, yes, the people are protected. that was his initial intention. on the other hand, vongla is... a lot more casually violent and blatantly disregarding of the authorities than he’d like. and getting more criminal by the day.
his options are to either a) viciously cull trouble makers and reign vongola back in, risk being a dictator, or b) leave the leadership to someone else who can handle vongola as it is now. most of his guardians agree with his decision to leave, if only slightly.
and! the harmony compulsion is really just a compulsion, not mind control. so long as feelings align, the effects are just Amplified to the point where it might almost seem like mind control because everyone is just On The Same Page, but taken up to 11. harmony bonds can be broken by either party though, not just the sky. if the element Isn’t Feeling It Anymore, they’re absolutely able to break the bond and leave (depending on the sky, it can be seen as betrayal or not). daemon and lampo are the only ones who don’t go to japan with giotto when he retires, but lampo remains bonded while daemon breaks his and goes on to harmonize with ricardo instead.
basically, daemon was loyal, but after elena died his views kinda veered into another lane, so to speak, and that loyalty became a desire to make vongola Stronger, which.. isn’t what giotto feels. so the harmony is. unharmonized. sucks, but it happens, what can you do.
why he eventually jumps ship and heads to kakishima is 8U A Secret. although he Still intends to make vongola Strong. just. in a different way.

@tardislemur replied to your post “@tardislemur mentioned vongolastic in a post “no. 4 and Tsuna” ...”
honestly I just sort of assumed it would be around LotR. Like, somewhere between the beginning of the Hobbit & mid Fellowship?
ahaha naaaahh i like lotr and mirkwood and elves and shit but... i’m really more a silm / ainur person... my first edition of it did consider shoving them into mirkwood, because woodelves are my next favorite thing after ainur and mordor politics. honestly i’d have to figure out some plot for them IN arda first before i.. pick a timeline....

@tardislemur mentioned vongolastic in a post “no. 4 and Tsuna”
@vongolastic, I really want to know what’s happening in this AU.
separate post to keep things mildly decluttered
@tardislemur i dunno if you’re familiar with lotr/silm so i’ll give a quick rough rundown hahaaa /wheezes. it’s basically the entire summarized plot but it doesn’t otherwise make sense unless you’re silm-familiar... if you do know silm then you can just idk read the paragraph under this and then skip down to the last one.
this as yet unnamed au is a mashup-style crossover wherein LOTR/Silmarillion universe exists concurrently with KHR as different ‘planets’ or ‘worlds’. the ‘flame’ that khr verse wields is considered an offshoot of The Secret Fire / The Flame Imperishable in lotr, otherwise known as Big Dad’s Awesome Creation Magic. or just another form of their in-canon magic that happens to be Fire-like. anyway.
morgoth, and kawahira in this au, is of the first race of beings created by the omnipresent omnipotent Creator of All Eru (so they’re kinda like gods, lowercase), with all the bells and whistles that come with Being A God (lowercase). except for that nifty ability to, y’know, Create Life, because while they can make ‘creatures’ and ‘living beings’, it’s the Secret Fire that grants actual conscious independent thought (or a soul, if you wanna get poetic). kawahira doesn’t really care about that, because none of them care. except morgoth cares. morgoth cares a whole fuckton and wages wars and temper tantrums that span several thousand years until he’s more or less put in bad guy jail of Endless Abyssal Nothingness for trying to destroy arda, which is really just code for ‘banished to the edges of space that could technically connect all worlds if you keep walking long enough.’
khr earth is where kawahira and some other minor gods / True Earthlings ended up and helped shape, which became more Flame dependent than arda / middle-earth ever did. so the trinisette acts as a balancer, arcobaleno help power it, etc etc, you get the drill. except!! when you have too many.. flame powerful people.. alive at the same time......... it’s kinda like sending out a beacon that says ‘we have your special magic over here that you really really want, come find us’, so every now and then kawahira’s gotta either shunt them off the planet (tsuna and co.) or take away their flames (the vindice backfired and made it Worse, good job kawacchi) to keep The Big Bad from realizing they Exist.
which he haaaasss 👀 👀
so, tsuna is the sky arcobaleno of reborn’s era (because i need one of those tropes in my repertoire), general arcobaleno hijinks occur, then suddenly kawahira (who is mildly chummy with them all in this au, for necessary reasons of convincing people to leave their own planet at the drop of a hat, as you do) suddenly tries to shoo them off for what seems like no discernible reason. until the sky starts falling down around their ears and reality is tearing apart because The Greatest Evil Anyone Has Ever Known is trying to forcibly break through the door between dimensions / worlds for the sake of just maybe getting his hands on pretty life-giving fire and either playing God with it or snuffing it out of pure selfish self-destructive desire.
[insert screaming] aaaaaa.

So I've gone through your IIB 'verse (except for Draft 0, that's next) and I'm still unsure why Flames when public in the first place? Something Reborn thought at one point and a post here suggested it was Timoteo, possibly due to his sons dying, but I think an AN said it went public in '05 and the main story takes place in '15. (And I love the implications in fic of Ace!Tsuna.)
flames going public in general (global) is addressed in the way we fall (apart); which is reborn in italy and tutoring xanxus around the time the cosa nostra IRL is tipping over the edge and vongola going ‘fuck it we’re taking the sicilian mafia back, to hell with it all’. it’s mostly heavily implied near the end when he talks about ‘carving a bloody path through sicily’ and how they didn’t hesitate to use flames, but i do intend to continue addressing it.. at some point. /stares at the million plot lines.
for the mainfic (and maybe) we are; flames went public on the island of kakishima itself rrriiight around the 1900s. this is mainly because the Driving Forces on the island were, well, yakuza, or otherwise slightly criminal gangs, and in IIB, flames are widely used by All Underworld folks (and others, but the underworld is vain and thinks no one else uses flames but them. no one’s really sure why they think that.)
(aayyyy acetsuna is a fave. snarky acetsuna.)
