Yup, this Father's Day is an extended weekend getaway!
The Cabin Resort in Bulacan is a loft-type cabin nestled in the middle of a farm, allowing guests to completely unplug and enjoy its natural surroundings. Though the cabins vary in size, each accommodation guarantees charming aesthetics, and a cozy ambiance! Guests who book a stay at The Cabin Resorts are also free to use the on-site pool, bikes, and even kayak through the ground’s lakes. You may rent an ATV to tour the entire farm or have a bonfire night for additional fees, too (read: sulit na sulit we tried all activities haha)
Each cabin can accommodate 6 to 8 people. It is fully made from wood and is elevated from the ground. The lower area, has a lounge, dining, and a veranda facing the man-made lake. The veranda was actually one of my favorite areas here (after the bedroom), overlooking the farmland where you can do fishing or just be seated on the wooden chairs to meditate or reflect. Inside, they have used huge mirrors to make the room look more spacious. It got huge windows too that give enough lighting during the day. Overall, the whole space got a very peaceful and homey vibe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The resort doesn’t have a nearby restaurant or convenience store. But do not worry, because there is an in-house restaurant that can give guests decent food. The Cabin Resorts’ in-house restaurant is located at the end of the property just across the infinity pool. The restaurant offers Filipino foods like bulalo, sinigang, bagnet and likes. They also have kinds of pasta, grilled items, sizzlers, and snacks. All-day-breakfast also comprises of the usual tapsilog, longsilog, bangsilog variants.
After lunch, you can find your own sunbed and chill by the pool deck. When the sun is out, most of the guests are in their airconditioned cabins, so that was our favorite time to hang out. Because then, we’d have the place to ourselves! It was fun watching everyone do their first attempts at riding the ATV and shooting some arrows.
If you’re not particular about plush bedding and luxurious amenities, you’ll appreciate The Cabin Resorts and the activities they have to offer. Honestly, I think this is such an upgraded glamping experience.

Last but not the least, the sunset bar. Ahh what a good way to cap the day! We never imagined that they would have free flowing cocktails at the Sunset Bar. We ordered everything available on the menu and danced to the music while watching the magnificent sunset.
Aside from being pet friendly, all the activities made this trip a very memorable one. Always refreshing to see my family, especially my parents, enjoy their time with our fur babies. Will definitely go back!

What is your favorite breakfast food? Fried rice with eggs and hotdogs, or tapsilog :) Such comfort breakfast food. I like Eggs Benedict and Monte Cristo too, but let's be real I never have either for breakfast and only get them at restaurants when I feel like having breakfast food on a non-breakfast hour.
Who do you (romantically) love? Nobody.
Have you ever considered yourself dirty? In a few aspects, sometimes. Like how I have a bad habit of putting trash in my handbag, and end up having a pile of papers and wrappers after a few days.
What do you do to relax? Playing with the dogs eases my worries more than anything, but I also like turning to YouTube.
Do you enjoy kissing? Sure, but I haven't done that in a couple of years. That's okay with me though, I'm not a very sexual person in general.
What about making out? ^ Eh, just about the same.
Where are you most ticklish? My tummy and waist. I don't like even getting hit in that area, no matter how lightly, cause I'll end up squirming hahaha.
Have you ever been to an arena concert? Yes, most of the concerts I've attended have been in arenas. The only exceptions were One Direction (which was held in outdoor concert grounds) and Se So Neon (happened in a large indoor tent).
Where was the last place you kissed someone? It may have been outside my house, right by my car. Memory's hazy.
Do you know anyone who is expecting? I know someone who was due in like a couple of weeks when I first met her, so she has likely given birth by now. As for currently expecting, I don't think so.
What does your third text message say in your inbox? Just my bank telling me there was a recent transaction on my card.
Do you use speed dial? I never used that.
If so who is number 5?
Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex? Yes.
Where do you want to get married? I've always wanted a hotel wedding just so everything - or at least most things - can be set for us lol. They have the ambiance, they've got catering, the sound system, some hotels already have their roster of hosts...considering how all over the place I can get, that much would be a big help.
Do you plan on having both your parents at your wedding? If I ever get married, of course.
If you could visit one person right now, who would it be? No one, I like being alone right now.
Do you like school? The social part of it was really great; some of the best years of my life. I liked learning too but only to an extent, as there were some subjects I found to be a waste of time + some teachers didn't have the best attitude.
What is your all time favorite subject that you have ever taken in school? History. < Mine too :)
Do you have a current teacher who you wish taught all of your classes? Not current, but I wish my high school music teacher had been my teacher for everything.
What has been your favorite part of this calendar year so far? Being able to save as much as I have.
Are you going on vacation any time soon? No plans currently. My parents are planning this huge party for my grandparents in June so that will 100% kill off any vacation plans; Reena just came back from a trip to Thailand so I'm sure she'd want to save for the next few months; Angela's super busy with boards review. In any case I plan on going to Seoul next year for when BTS are back, so it'll be smart for me to not book anything for now.
Do you catch yourself staring at inappropriate times? Sometimes.
How many times have you been fall-down drunk? Less than 10 times.
Has a friend ever really hurt you and you never told them? Sure.
Where would your most romantic getaway spot be? Somewhere remote in either Palawan or Baguio.
Have you ever stayed on a ride at a theme park to ride it again? I'm sure I did this during the school fairs. I was in the rides committee so I had a few perks lol.
Have you ever used your sexuality to get you something you wanted? I'm sure I have, but only with a partner.
What do you count as too spoiled? Anyone who overreacts/makes a fuss over the smallest things. It can be very telling of how they've always had everything handed to them that they're incapable of handling the most minor of inconveniences.
When you don’t feel good, where do you want to be? Just my room, or the café we have in the village. It's never crowded and is fairly hidden, so it's a nice quaint little place to escape to.
Have you ever set an alarm on your phone to remind you to do something? Sure.
Where do you want to raise your children? The city. The stimulation and sensations would be good for them, I feel.
What is your favorite Crayola scented crayon? Idk I was never around them much.
What is your favorite childhood TV show? Hi-5!
Do you ever look at yourself and not believe it’s you? Eh, sometimes. I try not to get existential like that often.
What’s your favorite hideaway place? That café I mentioned. Not a lot of people in my circle know about it or would travel to get there + the signal in that area just so happens to be weak, so it's literally a place you can 'escape' to.
Do you have a secret you have kept from your family? Sure.
Have you ever slow danced to a song you didn’t know? I'm sure I have.
Where do you study? I don't anymore.
Do you study at all? Nope.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I wanted to be a journalist, but I've since gone a little west of that – I'm currently a PR practitioner.
Has someone ever dedicated a song to you? I don't think so?
How many people have you kissed this month? None.
Do you like do have your hair pulled? Sure.
Are you close with your parents? We're on much better terms now but I still prefer to keep some kind of wall up.
How much do you wish/ hope for something before you give up? I can be very passionate and will fight for things/people, but if I feel like I'm not getting the same energy back I slowly let go.
Have you ever hung out with a complete stranger? Sure!
Do you work any holidays? No.

Day 2: 5th March 2023 (Sunday)
Amazing shopping and food day! This was my favorite day mainly because I get to shop, I am Venus-Ruled after all. We took Grab to BGC (Bonifacio Global City) and had Tim Hortons for Brunch, we then were picked up by Apan's cousin and her family to head to Uptown, BGC, and had the most amazing lunch with Filipino food. Tried Tapsilog for the first time and I am sold!
Love the weather in Manila during this time, it was very windy and not so hot. Loved walking around outside, and my fav thing is the walkway! I love wide walkways for pedestrians, Malaysians can't relate. We then headed to Greenbelt Makati with Julian and his girlfriend Christine, we met up with Atan there. Holy shit we shopped A LOT like I was really in YOLO mode I don't even know whether anything could fit.
Tried Mos Burger for dinner, it was alright, then continued to shop again. Atan then sent us back to our hotel. I swear I am so, so grateful for the fact that we had Apan's family, they helped us a lot with the going around.
We saw a lot of dogs indoors, it's such a dog-friendly city, and you can even bring your dogs into malls!
A long fun day!

A DAY WITH FAMILY
Tumblr media
Today was a special day as I got to spend quality time with my mom, brothers, and sisters. We went shopping for some items needed for my niece's first birthday celebration and it was heartwarming to see how excited we all were for the little one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a busy afternoon of shopping, we decided to stop for dinner at Pancake House, where I ordered my all-time favorite, Spicy Tapsilog. It was a great way to refuel and catch up on each other's lives. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed, which made for a perfect dinner.
Tumblr media
The day was not over yet as we continued to bond over ice coffee, chatting about our experiences and exchanging laughter. It was a lovely moment that we all cherished, and I feel grateful for having such wonderful siblings and a loving mom.
In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in work and daily routines, but spending time with loved ones is a reminder of what truly matters in life. Today's simple but meaningful experience has reinforced the importance of family and spending time with those closest to our hearts.
So here's to making more memories with the people who matter the most and cherishing every moment together."

Garlic rice! Fry a bunch of garlic until it's crispy, then throw in the rice and some salt and stir it around until it's hot and tasty. My family - we're Filipino - eat it with a lot of things but my favorite is tapsilog - garlic rice, tapa, and a fried egg!
fuck, this sounds incredible, i'm salivatingggg

Edible Diary
As someone who considers himself a chef, I can really live by the saying, “Food is life!” From spending money on budget friendly street foods such as kwek-kwek, fishball and gulaman, to splurging on gourmet classics like Wagyu steaks on special occasions, or simply enjoying a nice home-cooked meal after a tiring day from school… these are only but a few instances in my life in which food has been a companion of mine.
As someone who is existing for almost 20 years now, I had already been given several chances to try a few dishes from different cuisines. With every food I ate, I noticed that each plate had their own story to tell. You’ll notice how different ingredients were used and how different the cooking styles were done; it’s almost as if I was switching to a different genre going from plate to plate. Interesting isn’t it? As a self-taught chef myself, I know for a fact that this is true. That behind every recipe, behind every food, there is meaning behind them. They hide stories and memories that leaves a big imprint on not only your taste buds, but also your heart. In this blog, I will share mine.
Chicken Tapsilog for the Family
Tumblr media
As the saying goes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It will give you all the energy you need to power through the rest of the fight. Since Tapsilog is one of my all-time favorite Filipino breakfast, I figured that this would be the perfect meal to start the day.
I cooked the chicken tapa to perfection; under medium heat leaving it moist on the inside. The soy sauce and sugar which was slowly cooked in low fire also caramelized, making the tapa somewhat crispy on the outside. The fried rice was immediately cooked after the tapa. Using the left-over sauce of the tapa on the pan, I then proceeded to sauté the garlic fried rice. After the rice came the eggs. The eggs were cooked in butter and then garnished with parsley. The sweetness of the chicken tapa compliments well with the garlic flavor of the fried rice and the saltiness of the scrambled eggs.
I haven’t been able to be with my family for quite a while now so I made this today feeling a bit homesick. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am locked here in Parañaque City with my lola and uncles while my parents and brothers are in Lipa, Batangas. Eating tapsilog reminds me of the precious times I had with my family which motivates me to have a more positive outlook on the day ahead.
A Mother’s Adobo
Tumblr media
When you think of Filipino cuisine, adobo is definitely one of the foods that will pop in your mind. Its a classic Filipino meat dish wherein a combination of soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar acts as a sauce to the meat. For lunch, that was my meal. I marinated the chicken with the sauce for 30 minutes, then proceeded to fry it. This makes sure that the blood inside the chicken would be cooked and won’t mix with the sauce. I then poured in the sauce and added garlic and onions. This would make sure that the rich flavor of the sauce would penetrate the meat, giving it more flavor. Finishing things off, I put the potatoes in and let it simmer for 10 minutes before adding salt and paper for taste and 2 pieces of dried bay leaves for extra flavor. I paired my chicken adobo with garlic buttered cabbage which served as my side.
My mama loves cooking adobo. When I was in elementary, this was what she always cooked whenever we came home from school. Eating adobo reminds me of her. She loves us very much and makes sure that we are well provided. She sacrificed a lot for us, to the point that she gave up her own happiness for us. She rejected an offer to go abroad because she knew that if she didn’t, she won’t see us grow up. She gave up a good job and a more comfortable life just so we can be together as a family.
The Omelet Expectation
Tumblr media
Like my grandparents always say, “Konti lang ang kain ‘pag gabi. Kumot lang naman ang hihilahin.” This is a reminder that whenever we eat dinner, we should eat less. If possible, no rice. Which is why for dinner, I cooked potato omelet; a family specialty my papa taught me. Although after learning cooking skills from Gordon Ramsay and the anime series Shokugeki No Soma, I tweaked the recipe a bit and claimed it as my own. It’s a pretty straight-forward process. I first stir-fry the potatoes with thyme, garlic, and rosemary which gives the omelet an earthy and herby flavor, and then put parmesan cheese to give it a bit more salt and texture. My uncles would always say that its good enough to be sold at restaurants.
The potato omelet was one of the first dishes my papa taught me how to cook. It was the food that brought me closer to him. While he was teaching me how to cook, he told me that he looked up to me and expects me to be the one who will lift us up from the kahirapan that we are facing. He suddenly said how proud he was of my achievements and that he was lucky to have a son like me. Which shocked me to my core since papa never opens up about his feelings to anyone. I promised him then that I would do my best to become a doctor so that when that time comes, I can help lessen their burdens and provide for their well-beings in return.
See? Foods ARE edible diaries. We can associate people, emotions, and even memories in the food we eat. Everyone has their own, they just aren’t aware of it yet. It’s only a matter of when you’ll start to create yours. It is not a contest, there is no winner or loser. What’s important is that you are able to share your own story. I have cooked mine. What about you? When will you start cooking your own?

Klaine Valentine’s Challenge 2019 - “Satisfaction” (Rated PG13)
Summary: After a long trip, including several delays, Blaine finally makes it to New York to see his fiance ... bringing along something special that's sure to spice up their weekend. (1161 words)
Notes: So, life has been kicking my butt this month so I'm posting all of these late. I apologize. Written for the Klaine/CC Valentine's Challenge 2019 prompt 'Sweetener' by Ariana Grande.
Read on AO3.
Knock-knock-knock!
Blaine runs a hand over his hair, loosens his scarf, unbuttons his coat and smooths his wrinkled sweater. He checks his breath. The air around him is too cold to smell anything, so he waits a second and checks it again. And even though he’s sure his breath doesn’t offend, he pops a Tic-Tac to be on the safe side. He came straight to the loft from the airport without stopping in the men’s room to freshen up. He couldn’t. He didn’t have the time to spare. His first flight had been canceled, and his next flight, which managed to take off between combating pressure systems, landed thirty minutes late. He only gets the weekend with Kurt before he has to be back in Lima, studying for an AP History exam, and he’s already missed most of Friday night.
He’s determined to make every second he has left count.
After doing a full once over of his person, he pounds on the door again.
Knock-knock-knock!
He starts to worry when he doesn’t hear movement on the other side of the door. He’d texted Kurt every step of the way to let him know he’d be delayed, and Kurt didn’t seem angry. On the contrary, he seemed beyond excited to see Blaine again. The last text message Blaine received was full of kissie face and eggplant emojis.
He can’t see that being anything other than positive.
But maybe Kurt went out to get something from the store on the corner? A bottle of sparkling cider or a box of condoms. Shoot! Blaine should have mentioned that he’d brought a new box with him. He would give Kurt a call, but his cell phone battery died the second his cab pulled up to the curb. He considers leaving his stuff by the door and heading down there to search for him, but the pitter-patter of bare feet racing towards the door stops him.
Blaine grins when he hears several locks and bolts being thrown. The doors slides open and there Kurt stands, as dashing and as breathtaking as ever in black slacks and a black button-down, the first two buttons casually undone.
“Hello there, handsome,” he purrs, looking appreciatively down Blaine’s body, pausing to assess the baggage at his feet. “Fancy meeting you here.”
Blaine arches an eyebrow. It’s an unusual greeting, but not a bad one. From the tone of his voice, Kurt definitely has something planned.
Blaine decides to go with it.
“You know, you gave me the address, so you increased the odds of us meeting again considerably.”
“So I have. Did you bring it?”
“Oh, yeah.” Blaine lifts the discreet brown paper bag so Kurt can see. “I definitely brought it.”
Kurt bites his lower lip. “Well, well, well. Come on in, kind sir. And thank you so much for coming out in this horrible weather to bring me my … delivery.”
“Oh, you’re very welcome,” Blaine says, shivering at this spontaneous roleplay with his gorgeous fiancé.
Kurt must really be excited to see him.
“This is a nice place.” Blaine saunters in and looks around as if he’s never seen it before when, in fact, part of their history as intendeds is already written here – in pictures on the wall, the spinet piano in the corner, Blaine’s clothes in the closet and his sheets on the bed.
“You think so?”
Blaine puts down his luggage and sheds his coat. “Yeah. A ton of space for someone who lives … alone?”
“I have a roommate.” Kurt stops in front of Blaine and toys suggestively with his bowtie, tugging at it gently, slipping a finger beneath the band. “But she’s out of town.”
“That’s fortunate, isn’t it?”
“Very,” Kurt says, lips ghosting Blaine’s mouth. And while Blaine is distracted chasing Kurt’s lips, Kurt reaches down and relieves Blaine of the paper bag he’s been carrying with him. “So …” He backs away, knowing Blaine will follow “… where should we get started?”
“Hmm, on the couch?” Blaine suggests, but Kurt passes it by without a glance.
“Sorry. That’s broken.”
“Pity. Then … the kitchen table?”
“Pffft …” Kurt shakes his head “… not too romantic, is it?”
“The floor?” Blaine asks, even though Kurt is obviously leading him to the bedroom.
Kurt stops for a moment, looks up in thought. “Possibly …” He feels the floorboards with his foot “… but, no. I really do think that the bedroom is the perfect place for what I have planned.”
“Ooo …” Blaine grins “… then by all means, lead the way.”
Kurt, absconding with the brown paper bag, backs his way through the privacy curtain that surrounds his corner of the loft. Through the sheer white fabric, Blaine can see Kurt’s king-sized bed –his black, pinstripe comforter tucked neatly around the edges, giving them a clean, flat surface to work with; red and white rose petals sprinkled here and there; with a white blanket folded over twice in the center.
In case things get messy.
“It looks like you have things all set,” Blaine says, kicking off his shoes and unbuttoning the top button of his shirt.
“I didn’t want to waste any time.” Kurt sets the bag at the foot of the bed and undoes the button to his slacks.
Blaine watches Kurt unzip his fly and grins. “Would you like to do the honors?” He gestures to the bag, eyebrows bouncing up and down.
Kurt giggles. “Absolutely! Let’s get this party started.”
Blaine watches his fiancé dive into the bag, eagerly pulling out container after container and lining them up in the center of the mattress: chicken adobo, oxtail stew, tapsilog, lumpia – all the dishes he fell in love with eating over at the Anderson house on the nights he stayed over. Even with its reputation of being a food goldmine, Kurt hasn’t found a single restaurant in New York that makes Filipino cuisine the way Blaine’s mother does. And since Pam Anderson loves her son-to-be, she makes sure to pack a plethora of Kurt’s favorite meals to send with Blaine when he visits.
Kurt picks up one container bulging with food and pops the lid. He inhales deeply and sighs. “Blaine, your mother is a saint!”
“Don’t tell her that!” Blaine dishes silverware and napkins out of the bag. “I finally got her to admit that I’m her favorite son! I don’t need you toppling me off my pedestal!”
“Blaine …” Kurt snatches a fork out of his fiancé’s hand “… if it gets me more of her amazing cooking, I’m going to tell her whatever I have to!”
“Fine,” Blaine mutters, slightly disgruntled, “but I have one question.”
“Shoot,” Kurt says, rearranging the containers in order from appetizer to dessert.
“Are we going to have sex tonight? Or are we just going to eat?”
“Oh, yeah. Of course we will.” Kurt lifts a forkful of pancit to his watering mouth. “But food first. Priorities, Blaine. Priorities.”

what was the last thing you drew on a fogged up window? I usually just draw smiley faces because I’m not any more creative than that lol. Also because it’s cute and would make others smile if they see it.
does anyone owe you money? I typically don’t lend money since I usually just have enough for myself, so no.
does your significant other have any facial hair? No.
have you ever used a belt bag/fanny pack? I doubt it, even when I was younger. I remember wanting the Adidas x Ivy Park fanny pack that came out earlier this year though, but it sold out so quickly ugh.
have you ever asked someone out? Yuh, both times it was me.
are you the one who usually breaks up with your significant other or is it them that do the breaking up? I’ve only had one breakup, and for that instance she broke up with me. I’m not comfortable with initiating that big of a confrontation and I doubt I’d ever be the one to do the breaking up,
do you own a coat or jacket with faux fur lining? No, hahaha we definitely do NOT need those here.
what’s the name of the last mall you went to? We went to SM Marikina so that I could get my eyes checked, but I also ate late lunch at Marugame and bought a bucket of cookies after my appointment. That was all the way back in March, though. :(
where did you go the last time you rode on a train? I went to Pasay so that Jum and I could go to the Senate building to accomplish an assignment for our Newswriting class.
were the last people you hung out with older or younger than you? Same age.
when hanging with a group of friends, who is the motherly figure? In my present group of friends it’s most definitely Laurice, but I can also put on my motherly figure hat if I have to.
is your wardrobe color coordinated? No, it’s just grouped by what type of clothing it is (t-shirts, blouses, pants, etc) and it’s randomocity from there.
when was the last time you wore something with polka dots on it? Five or six years ago. I do have a dress with...polka hearts? and I last wore it a few months ago.
what is your favorite animal print? I don’t have any.
are you currently wearing jeans? I’m always in shorts around the house.
do you like using default pictures with just you in them or you with other people? On Facebook, I prefer solo photos; on Twitter I’m generally more loose and can go either way.
is there a song in which you prefer the acoustic version as opposed to the original? I don’t like acoustic versions. I don’t know why; the style just never grew on me.
have you ever been in an on-and-off relationship? Just one time. It was on, then off, then it’s been on for the last four years.
did the last shirt you wore have buttons on it? Nopes, it was just a tank top.
are you friends with any of your significant other’s exes? She doesn’t have any.
how old were you when you got your first ipod/mp3 player? 10. Just like with my first phone, I got it because of peer pressure and the want to fit in with the trends lmao.
does your favorite band have numbers in their name? I have favorites that sport the number 2, 5, and the word ‘One.’
when was the last time you cleaned your room? April, oops. I mean I’ve never really used my room much since I only go in there to sleep at night now, so I’ve barely touched anything in there.
who was the last person you bought food for? I got Rodic’s tapsilog for my dad in one of the last few times I was out.
does your favorite band/singer use profanity in their songs? Paramore doesn’t, but my other favorite punk rock bands do. Beyoncé will sometimes have profanity in her songs.
have you gone to a coffee shop within the past week? [i.e. starbucks] :( don’t remind meeeeeee
do you and your best friend share the same favorite color? No. As far as I know, neither Angela nor Gab want anything to do with pink.
which of your parents is older, your mother or father? My mom is younger by eight months, but they were born in the same year.
have you kept most of the morals you had as a child? Some of them, like making sure I won’t let alcohol ruin my life and to be unafraid of speaking up. I’m still generally a completely different person now though.

Feel The Food of Filipino Food
The Filipinos are known as food lovers, lots of us really loves to eat, We are sociable people who love to party, wherein the food is often at the center of their many celebrations. Filipino food combines and influences by Eastern and Western ideas and by Chinese, Spanish and American traditions. Since, Philippines is made up of 7,107 islands; with so much water everywhere, it is no wonder that seafood is the main source of protein in the Filipino diet.
The country is divided into seven major regions and features a wide variety of regional fare. It’s not easy to put one’s finger on what might constitute a Filipino “national” dish, but several that could lay claim to that distinction include the Adobo. One of my favorite filipino dishes is the Adobo, the mighty adobo that Filipino dish everybody knows. It is made by stewing meat that is usually chicken, pork, or a combination of both in soy sauce and vinegar, adding peppercorns and bay leaves for that special flavour. You can also pull the meat from the bone and fry ’til crispy for some tasty adobo flakes.
Next is the Kare-kare. It is rich stew that is made with peanut sauce and, customarily, oxtail, but other meatier cuts of beef can also be added in. Many Filipinos will consider kare-kare incomplete without a serving of bagoong on the side.
The third one is the what we call Lechon. It is one of the top contenders among the best Filipino dishes. After all, it is hard to top a tasty, fully-roasted pig with perfectly crisp skin and juicy meat. Find the best of this sinful treat on the island of Cebu, but this is almost always served at any grand Pinoy gathering or fiesta.
The next one is the famous Sinigang. It is a delicious sour broth usually made  by tamarind. It’s filled with different vegetables and a meat of choice. Popular variants include sinigang na baboy (pork), sinigang na hipon (shrimp), and sinigang na isda (fish).
Next, the Bistek Tagalog or the Filipino beef steak. It is a delicious blend of salty, sour, and sweet flavours. Thinly sliced beef that is marinated in a mixture of mainly soy sauce and kalamansi, fried, and then topped with caramelised onions. The onions are just sweet enough to cut into and balance the strong salty and acidic tastes infused into the meat.
Last but not the least is the Filipino breakfast. A hearty Filipino breakfast typically consists of meat, sinangag or what do we call fried rice, and itlog (egg). Each dish name varies slightly depending on the meat that goes with the rice and egg. So for example, a plate of tapa (cured beef), sinangag, and itlog, is called tapsilog. A plate including tocino (sweet cured pork) instead of tapa is called tocilog. While one that uses longganisa (sausages) is known as longsilog. These generous breakfast servings are a great way to kickstart a day.
One feature that is unique to the Filipino dining is the sawsawan, dipping sauces that are served with every meal and which can turn simply prepared roasted or steamed meals into bursts of flavors that follow one’s own taste buds.
Common condiments like fish sauce, dark soy sauce, native vinegar, and cream-style shrimp paste are mixed with herbs including ginger, garlic, chili peppers, peppercorns, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and kalamansi lime to bring the flavors up a few notches. Just as in the other Southeast Asian countries, a typical Filipino meal often consists of white rice eaten with a variety of dishes, all of which taste better when consumed together with family and friends.
Today the Philippine cuisine continues to evolve as new ingredients and cooking techniques, styles and methods find their way into the country. A fusion of different dishes from earlier traders, Asian immigrants and former colonizers and the Filipinos’ love for cooking resulted into a unique Philippine cuisine – a melting pot of eastern and western cuisine delight that has been savored for centuries. COME and TASTE our very own dishes.

43 AND THRIVING
Tumblr media
Last January 22nd was a special day for me as I celebrated another year of life surrounded by the people I love and cherish the most. Turning 43 is a significant milestone, and I was so grateful to have the opportunity to celebrate it with my family.
The birthday celebration was filled with laughter, love, and joy. I started the day with a delicious breakfast at Pancake House, I ate my all-time favorite Filipino breakfast which was ‘Tapsilog’. Afterwards we headed out to Ikea and created new memories.
In the evening, we had a simple dinner, where I was surrounded by family. The dinner was a combination of good food, great company, and beautiful memories. I was overwhelmed by the love and support that I received from everyone, and I also got these useful gifts:
Tumblr media
The birthday celebration was a testament to the love and support that I have in my life, and it was a reminder of how blessed I am to have such amazing people around me. I am truly blessed to have such amazing family, and I will always cherish the memories that we created on this special day.

introducing my literal ray of sunshine Aurora.
basics.
name: Aurora Bulan nicknames: Aura, Ra-Ra, Princess Aurora birthday/age: June 18, 1991 | 29 years old gender/pronouns: Cis-Female / She, Her sexuality: Bisexual relationship status: Single zodiacs: Gemini ☉ ; Aquarius ☽ ; Libra 🡕 occupation: Marketing Coordinator and Talent Booker at The Octavium hobbies: Baking, Jogging, Collecting Vinyl, Horseback riding.  length of time in Kings Head Harbor: 3 years place of birth: Manayunk, Philadelphia current neighborhood: Arrow Point Piers height: 5′3 pets: Fauna - Golden Retriever
background.
Legitimately Aurora is a ray of sunshine. There is nothing that can upset her for more than a millisecond because she will find the brighter side no matter what it takes.
Aurora comes from a large family, her parents immigrated from the Philippines and settled in Philadelphia. They worked odd end jobs until they built a solid foundation to start their own restaurant catering to the Filipino community and becoming popular among those who enjoyed the cuisine.
With her Philadelphian roots, she will grimace if you say Italian ice versus water ice.
Aurora was never pressured into choosing a general path in life and has worn many different hats in many different hobbies. The beauty of growing up in Manayunk is never having a dull moment.
This is also where she found her love for live shows. The music scene in Philadelphia was expansive and if there was a booking she was usually front and center ready to listen to what the artists had to offer.
Aurora is smart enough to never get involved with the leads of bands, but she does have a flair for the guitarists and bassists.
She has a bachelors degree from Columbia University in Marketing and studied in Boston for her Masters.
Her favorite Filipino meal is tapsilog.
Her golden retriever is named after one of the fairy godmothers from Sleeping Beauty.
She is also named appropriately after a princess who sleeps a lot, napping is 100% one of her past-times.
Aurora doesn’t have anything to gripe about really, she loves her routine, loves her life, loves learning new and exciting things. Though there was an incident that took place nearly half a year ago that she tries not to question. If happiness is not me, then it’s not me, she tells herself. Though she can’t help but wish it was her for him.
wanted connections.
Work in progress, but again, she’s sunshine so please hit me with the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful, all of it.

Out to run errands and take Batsy to the Vet then I suddenly saw a familiar car inside our subdivision. Aba aba! Anong ginagawa mo dito Sir?! You're supposed to be 234 km away!
Surprised by my favorite bwisitor! 😂
Tumblr media
We dropped off Mama and Batsy at the clinic and went to claim my bale. Ohhh I was so excited! When we arrived, it's still closed which is contrary to what the staff told me when they notified that my package has arrived. Since I cannot claim on weekdays due to work, we agreed that I'll be going on the coming Saturday. I had to call them and the owner allowed to open their office just for us. Haha! It was already almost 11am and I haven't had my any meal so we went to a nearby restaurant, Mommy's Garden Cafe. The food is pricey and to be honest, not worth it. It arrived late and I was starving. Disappointed that the serving is cold and definitely not what you expect, considering that they seem to be full house most of the time. I ordered lechonsilog while my love tried the tapsilog. As for the drinks, I had the tsokolate batirol and he chose coffee, of course, the usual us. I also ordered biko for mama. It was really thoughtful of them pack it in a woven box like in the other Filipino delicacies, but still not worth it. Too sweet and again, the serving! Anyways, I'm just glad I'm with a lovely person so before I sound like a food critic and bore you out with my rant, let's move on. Hehe. We returned to the Vet, then craved for a better lunch and decided to drive through Jollibee for a bucket of Chickenjoy goodness! Arriving home, I opened the bale! Pretty sure my face lighted up every time I get my hands to an interesting piece! Twas an eventful and productive day, indeed! 💖

TDA — Let me start off this written message by saying sorry when I hit your tiny and pretty face while we were making love yesterday. The first one was kind of awkward — before I finish into completion, and the other one was when I untentionally hit your ear. I just got carried away. You know that I don’t want to hurt you physically or in any form. I love you so much for me to lift a hand against you.
Our dinner last night was ever so spontaneous. Our initial plan was to eat at Aling Precy’s for their Tapsilog because that’s what you’re craving for. We then decided to have McDonald’s instead since they offer al fresco dining. But before we head on to Mickey D’s, we had dos tres — our favorite. While walking towards Amapola, we came across an unli-wings joint that offers Tapsilog (House Hotspot). We had chicken wings in lieu of your Tapsilog. Hahaha. They serve good food and their service is commendable as well. I had fun talking with you over dinner, as always. I love making you laugh — with my made up stories about being a former talent of ABS-CBN. HAHAHA. And oh, your fascination with celebrities is unparalled. You always take pictures with them. Fan boy ‘yarn? Hahaha! Your stories about your audition attempts to join various reality shows amaze me, too! Imagine someone wanting to get into the Big Brother house just to drink all the C2 iced teas in the world and to see if he can take the production’s appliances home? HAHAHAHA! Argh! Your innocence captivates me all the more. To cap off the night, and so as not to pay extra for the wings we didn’t finish, you made a funny way of sneaking the wings into your bag for Alexa. HAHAHA!Good thing Kuya left the box of disposable hand gloves on the chair next to us, and we have our drawstring bags. Hahahaha! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
I fall in love harder with you every single day. Haaaays. I don’t say it enough, but I’m really lucky to be with you. I feel so good when I’m with you. Mahal na mahal kita.
💖🦂
