I ordered some special merch last month, and surprisingly it all arrived yesterday!

The Pixie Humphrey and Pumpkin keychains are soft and also squeak when you squeeze them.  

The trading cards are NOT stickers, but more durable with a slight sparkle to them. The set will include ten cards, which is all the designs for the year, including two exclusive to the pack: young Gigi, and Kitten Pumpkin.

The washi tape I need to get better photos of, the color is bright and vivid, I'm so happy how those turned out.  

The plan was to have these up in the kofi shop by November. I'm in the middle of a big work crunch at the moment, but I'll give subscribers an early heads up when all this stuff will be available.

Something you have found it interesting to observe changing over time?

The nature of anime fandom/availability of anime. When I started out in the late 80's/early 90's you got anime from the Tape Trading Network. A bunch of people had extensive lists of what series they had on VHS, their own rating, and the quality of their copy. They'd send these lists out to fan clubs, mailing lists, etc, and then start mailing back and forth requesting copies and offering trades based on what other people had and what you wanted.

I was lucky in that I knew a guy who imported laserdiscs from Japan and created subtitled VHS masters himself with his amiga, so my trading list included lots of rare finds like "Macross: Do You Remember Love (Quality: First Generation Master)" and I'd get tons of shows for a single copy of that gem among others.

The idea that anime is available pretty much instantly from anywhere (legally or otherwise) is still incredibly jarring at times.

re; zegras trade rumours for all you girlies panicking (and because i have no time to do my usual write-ups)

reading the room on the guy who floated the idea: he should not be taken seriously, and is not being taken seriously by most on twitter

ducks-wise: the drysdale trade for gauthier was explicitly explained as an effort to bolster scoring. zegras is top 2 playmaker along with carlsson, and has made considerable strides in his efforts off the puck post-benching.

he’s shown that he is willing to change and is following through with it (imo why his stats have looked a little lopsided, besides injury), but the rest of the team — and i’m sorry to say this if you love them but i mean it with respect — do not have it in them to finish on the chances he gives them.

what verbeek was cooking with this trade:

1) let go of some of the defensemen surplus that the ducks have (lot of good prospects upcoming, and minty is on fire rn)

2) get a guy who has a lethal shot so the ducks playmakers can actually do something

tl;dr the drysdale-gauthier trade was 100% for zegras to have a guy to pass the puck to, and zegras is solidifying himself as a coachable player with some depth. no reason to trade him — unless it’s for something really fucking huge.
