It’s only when your head nuzzles further into the crook of Ricky’s neck that you realize that the position you’re in is anything but normal. Your legs are intertwined with Ricky’s underneath the blankets. His lips are pressed to the crown of your head, not quite a kiss, but not quite a fleeting press of lips either. Your arm is slung across his torso, keeping the two of you close. Even if the position weren’t suggestive, Ricky’s lack of shirt definitely is.

“Ricky,” your voice penetrates the soft lull of RnB playing through the speakers on your desk. “Do you think that Chaehyun was right?”

Chaehyun wasn’t shy in approaching you earlier, after you had just separated from Ricky for class. The boy had placed a sweet kiss on your cheek after pulling you in for a devastatingly tight hug. Chaehyun had simply stared at the both of you, eyes wide and brows furrowed in confusion.

“Why do you two do things that couples do?”

You had startled, turning to Chaehyun with a scoff of disbelief. “We do not.”

Chaehyun just chuckled. “Of course you do. The hugs and kisses just scream couple. It’s almost like you guys want everyone to assume you’re dating without having to say anything.”

Now, Ricky’s hum just manifests as a rumble of his chest. Your bodies are so close that the hum travels through your own body as a continued vibration.

“Did we ever decide to be a couple?” Ricky asks, head shifting ever so slightly to glance at you propped up on his chest.

“No, but,” you hesitate, tongue feeling heavy in your mouth. “The way we act is really…close.”

At this, Ricky chuckles, fingers coming down to tangle in your hair. “Darling, we are close. It doesn’t mean that this has to be anything romantic.”

You clear your throat. “Right.”

As children, you and Ricky were inseparable. Having grown up together and attending the same school, you two fit together like a lock and key. You wouldn’t go anywhere without the other, finding any and every excuse to be close to each other. Even in high school, when you spent certain hours apart due to different clases, you always made time to come back to each other at the end of the day.

It just made sense for you.

You were so used to having Ricky so close that you never realized how others would perceive the nature of your relationship. You didn’t know many others at your university who would strip down to their underwear to cuddle with their best friend, or exchange chaste pecks on the cheek or forehead at every greeting and parting. You were aware that the bond you had with Ricky was unique, but you had no idea just how special it really was.

Ricky grazes his fingertips over your exposed skin, leaving goosebumps in their wake. You struggle to suppress the shiver that results from the tingle traveling up your spine. You’re sure Ricky can feel the way you shift, if his short chuckle is anything to go by.

“Ticklish?”

You don’t even need to look at the boy to know that his lips are quirked upwards in a smirk.

“I swear you do this on purpose.”

Ricky chuckles again. “I’m just trying to distract you a bit. Don’t let Chaehyun or anyone else get in your head. You and I both know what this is.”

Except for the fact that you truly don’t. You’re not naive enough to deny the attractiveness of your best friend. You are also very aware that most friendships don’t include the same level of touch that you exchange with Ricky. You also know that the fluttering that blooms in your stomach every time Ricky smiles at you isn’t quite platonic.

But most importantly, you know that Ricky does not feel the same.

Usa "亲" e "小公举" SEMPRE, é alérgico a qualquer outro tipo de apelido e fica bravo quando alguém te chama assim sem ser ele.

Usou "amorzinho" uma vez pra te zoar e acabou gostando, só usa ele e "meu amor" quando tá com ciúmes.

Wookie apesar de ser um amor é alto, por conta disso desde o início do namoro te chamava de "pequenininha" até levar uns tapas no braço e mudar para "bebezinha".

Levou meses pra lhe chamar de qualquer coisa sem ser o nome, muito envergonhado e tímido. Usou "bê" uma vez sem querer e quase enfiou a cabeça em um buraco.
