VER O GRANDE NO PEQUENO
Agi pelo não agir! Sede ativos na inatividade! Achai gosto no desgosto! Vede o grande no pequeno! O sábio prevê as dificuldades. E por isso as supera.

Can you remain unmoving till the right action arises by itself?

On this day thirteen years ago, I released my Minecraft Morning Musings video contemplating how different translations of the Dao de Jing present the concept of Wu Wei, and explored that by way of Zaphod Beeblebrox from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Great things under heaven arise from what is minute. For this reason, The sage never strives to do what is great. Therefore, He can achieve greatness.

To give birth, to nourish, to bear and not to own, to act and not lay claim, to lead and not to rule: this is mysterious power. --Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching, trans. Ursula K. Le Guin

"Many attempts have been made to describe Discordianism. Many attempts have failed. Discordianism is a philosophy some have described it as like Daoism but funnier. Some people think Discordians take serious things humorously. That is not quite true; rather, we take humorous things seriously."
- Malaclypse The Younger
"Organized things cause Disorder. Disorganized things cry for Order. The colorful and flashy get noticed. The wary and wise wear camouflage. A mindfuck of epic proportions only happens when no one notices the set-up. Most games are won when using misdirection. Let other people wave their flags and storm the riot shields. You're not playing that game; those game rules were written by Authority. There is no way you can win at that. The wise spags learn all the rules, and then write different games. They create the Illusion that best fits their situation, and doing so, win."

Heartstopper is not really my type of show in terms of plot/genre (high-school romance etc) but what intrigued me to watch it was that one of the main characters is bisexual. S1 wasn't that intense for me though it had some moments most queer kids go through (taking the quiz, struggling with acceptance etc) but S2, as a bisexual, made me tear up so many times. The fact that Nick had to say so many times that he's bisexual, that he doesn't have to 'choose' a side, that he's not gay just because he's dating a man and that he wouldn't be straight if he chose to date a woman.
These types of shows are needed. I'm in my 20s now and I still struggle sometimes with my identity, though I've always been involved with queer media, even when I thought that I was just a "loud ally", I'd only see confirmed straight or gay characters. I'd feel a little seen/be able to relate with characters who would be considered "bi-coded" due to queer bait or fandom discourse and I just know that teen me would feel so seen and understood if a show like Heartstopper existed back then. I'm glad bi kids nowadays get to have that.
We are valid, our sexuality is valid, we're not straight, we're not gay, we don't have to choose a side, you're not straight if you've only dated people of the opposite gender and you're not gay if you've only dated people of the same gender. Bisexuality is fucking valid and we finally have someone in the media to scream it for us.

Probably I am going to finish rereading The Dark Tower and I am going to read everything Stephen King has ever said about The Dark Tower and I am going to read some analysis of The Dark Tower and someone is going to ask me "So what is The Dark Tower?" And I am going to say: "I do not fucking know."

Express yourself completely, then keep quiet.
Be like the forces of nature: when it blows, there is only wind; when it rains, there is only rain; when the clouds pass, the sun shines through.

Do you have revulsive feelings about people who describe themselves too positively?
On this day, thirteen years ago in Minecraft history, I sailed toward the sunrise and contemplated chapter 24 of the Dao De Jing, which addresses that very misconduct.

Understanding others is knowledge, Understanding oneself is enlightenment; Conquering others is power, Conquering oneself is strength; Contentment is wealth, Forceful conduct is willfulness; Not losing one's rightful place is to endure, To die but not be forgotten is longevity.
