Ya know after reading the latest update with zenitsu and ayame conversation, marriage came up and i was kinda mildly surprised that ayame and even Tanjirou wouldnt be the type to marry. Granted their pretty young already to be thinking that long term, especially with death being just around the corner with their missions. I guess maybe after everything was over or even in an au where non of this tragedy happend, i would think tanyame would be up for having a big family, like legit 5+ kids 😂 OHHH if they did, what kinda parents do u think they would be like? Parents headcanon??? 🥺

(btw zenitsu, very relatable and we would totally flip a shit over drinks about tanyame, more so tanjirou the little blockhead)

i think that ayame and tanjirou don't have the capacity to think about marriage at the moment. i mean, in canon, tanjirou wasn't even sure if he would live long enough to cure nezuko. his desperation, i feel, is due to that. he doesn't want nezuko to be alone, and he doesn't want her to miss too much.

tanyame have always been a lesson in duty above all else. they have both individually set aside so many of their own dreams by joining the kisatsutai, so naturally, both of them don't think of marriage. this makes me very sad bc yeah, they should be married and have happy families - preferably with each other!

zenitsu has only even known tanjirou and ayame after they became demon slayers. they've both firmly set aside any dreams of a simple life at that point, so he only knows them as the driven, training-obsessed individuals that they are now. even when we go back to early in the fic, when they talked about their ideal types, both ayame and tanjirou spoke about it as if it was already part of a past that isn't theirs anymore. it's kind of a reminder that zenitsu, as much as he can hear a lot of things, doesn't really know their past. After all, he still thinks that they were childhood friends that played together and were always found together, but that never happened. it was only after okutama that they became closer, and after - or during - final selection that they became the tight-knit pair he was introduced to! i like that he forms a lot of misconceptions of their relationship ^^ if u ask me, inosuke probably has a better view of what ayame and tanjirou were and are to each other, because he isn't blinded by zenitsu's ideals!

anyway! that got a lil sad, so tanyame parent headcanons under the cut! (there are so many...)

- i can see ayame as being the laidback parent, the one who is calm in the face of any familial calamity. i mean, we know that she'll be panicking on the inside, but outwardly she will be very calm

- meanwhile, tanjirou is totally the panicky parent. he's the first to react when something happens - be it a baby crying for seemingly no reason, or a child's first fall - and it'd be a big reaction

- their kids wouldn't have any problem talking to their parents about anything, but they definitely have one that they prefer over the other. the eldest kids would feel more comfortable going to tanjirou, while the younger kids would always turn to ayame

- ayame would be the scary parent though. she's the sterner one

- but tanjirou is the one the kids would hate to disappoint

- like ayame would scold them and it'd feel bad, but tanjirou would just smile sadly and they'd feel rotten on the inside

- i can imagine they'd both be on the same page for a lot of things. as demon slayers, they were partners, after all! which means trying to pit kaachan against touchan won't work. at all.

- the kids rarely see them fight seriously; those were usually done behind closed doors so the kids wouldn't see

- look. we all know tanyame would be lovey dovey af. pet names fall from their lips as easily as their names do, to the point where, when the eldest kids were learning to talk, they'd follow their parents and call tanjirou "sunshine" or "darling", or ayame "sweetheart" and "love" instead of kaachan and touchan

- the younger kids would be more embarrassed than their older siblings about how affectionate their parents are, though. i can't imagine tanyame will stop with the pda even when they're married with kids

- anyway tanjirou teaching all his kids hinokami kagura while ayame watches. that is all.

- they're both the fun parents. if tanjirou is too busy to play with the kids, ayame will chase them around and vice versa. they're both super into having play time with the kids! when both parents are free, u know the house is gonna be filled with delighted shrieks

- ayame and tanjirou are both the sole inheritors of family arts, but i think the kids will lean more towards charcoal burning than blacksmithing. they'd be kamados, after all. (don't worry, i won't let the higuchi forge die either 😤)

- if ayame brings out the koto, u know she'll have a captive audience in front of her - children and husband. the image is so cute that i'm in tears 😭 😭 😭

- i also like the idea that the kids get to see their parents' silly side when the whole squad gets together! they get to see their calm kaachan go a lil nuts when zenitsu and inosuke are involved, and touchan becomes even more ungovernable bc i still believe nezuko holds the sole brain cell in the squad

- although they get anxious when inosuke rough houses with ayame for... reasons. to them, kaachan is the more delicate of their parents. again, for reasons. but come on, kids, ur mum is a former hashira

- the girls would definitely inherit ayame's ability to feel embarrassed when embarrassing things happen tho. just imagine the kamado ladies doing full-body cringes when smth embarrassing happens in front of them. for the greater good

- also u know if anyone breaks ayame's babies' hearts, she's gonna calmly bring out her katana and start polishing it while tanjirou has to frantically remind her that arson isn't actually a solution to anything (sanemi and tengen are a terrible influence on ayame)

- dad with a shotgun? no, no, kaachan with a katana. if u can't treat any of the kamados right, ayame will remove ur kneecaps without hesitation

- i bet the kids think tanjirou is the introvert while ayame is the extrovert, until they see their parents in a party situation and realise that ayame is dying inside when all these people talk to her while tanjirou is thriving

- okay there are a lot of hcs already but sometimes ayame and tanjirou will dance around the house with the radio playing in the bg and the kids have all seen it and quietly hope they can do that with their future s/os too

BTS Reaction to Getting Aroused While With You and Your Parents

Jin: 

     Usually, Jin is good at keeping himself in check. That is until he saw you dressed and ready to go to dinner with your parents. The way the clothing fit you was enough to have him going crazy before you two even got in the car.

     Everything was fine until dinner. You knew that you looked good and so you throughout the meal you casually teased him by setting your hand on his thigh. Finally, dinner had ended and everyone was getting up but Jin was panicking, unsure of how to hide the bulge that was very noticeable. 

     “What do I do?” He would ask you. Rolling your eyes you handed him your coat to hold in front of himself. While it helped, he still felt like your parents and everyone else in the goddamn restaurant knew what he was hiding. 

Yoongi:

     Yoongi and you were at your parent's house, just spending time there since it was very rare that both of you had time off of work. The conversations were casual and relaxed, but Yoongi was not. His mind filled with not-so-appropriate thoughts while you were chatting with your parents. He noticed that it was becoming more prominent, and grabbed the blanket that was on the back of the couch. 

     He thought he was in the clear until you asked him to get you something to drink. He couldn’t say no since then he would look lazy so he just died inside and stood up. You quickly noticed and followed him into the kitchen. 

     “Is it noticeable?” Is all he would ask as he put his face in his hands before grabbing the drinks. 

Hoseok: 

     Hoseok was on vacation with you and your family when everyone decided to go swimming in the beautiful ocean. You and he had been playing around in the water, he didn’t really think of anything until you began to slightly tease him. you had tried sneakily slipping your hand into his shorts since it was just the two of you in the water, the next set of people were way down the beach. 

     You began swimming to shore when you called for him to follow. 

     “No, I don’t want to leave.” He told you, trying to will his boner away. “I just love the water.” He said in a forced tone. 

Namjoon: 

     It was his first time meeting your parents and he wanted to make a really good impression. You knew that your parents would love him so you weren’t even worried. Both you and Namjoon thought things were going great. Namjoon could feel himself getting excited, but didn’t think much of it since he knew that guys can experience random boners, but it typically happened to younger guys.

     That being said, he wasn’t worried until it wouldn’t go away. Then, to make things worse, one of your parents noticed. No words were spoken between him and your parent but embarrassment filled inside of him. 

     ‘Ah, shit,’ was all he could say to himself. 

Jimin: 

     Jimin was usually quiet around your family. Not because he didn’t like them but because every time he went over to your parent's house he had always just gotten back from overseas. Your family loved him and so they understood that sometimes he needed a little time to relax. Well, Jimin fell asleep for a bit and when one of your parents went to wake him for dinner, they noticed he had a little problem. 

     “Dinner is ready, but if you need to stay in here for a bit it’s okay,” They said in a joking tone. Jimin wanted to scream in embarrassment but your parent quickly assured him that they didn’t care.

Taehyung: 

     In the beginning, Taehyung got flustered and scared since he didn’t want to seem like a pervert to your parents, but eventually, he convinced himself that if he didn’t focus on it then it would just go away. Taehyung got lucky and made it without anyone seeing anything, at least he hoped.

Jungkook: 

     Jungkook has a very active imagination, and that didn’t change even as he was meeting your parents. His mind was filled with thoughts of you. He wouldn’t be embarrassed or flustered, in fact, he was cocky about it. As he opened the door for your parents at the dimly lit restaurant he grabbed your hand quickly as you passed him being last in line. 

“You’re gonna help me later,” is all he would whisper before scooting you inside.

sometimes i think about genderbent tanyame but then i realised nothing would change, except ayame's reverse harem would be a harem and she'd be a prince charming, and tanjirou would still be bubbly and a bit of an idiot. although ayame could finally be taller than tanjirou... by like 2cm

alternatively: they keep their canon heights and ayame's just resigned to tossing his taller girlfriend over his shoulder when she's doing something ridiculous

I never knew I needed an arranged marriage au until now 😩

i've been pretty busy with picking up some additional shifts the last couple days, so this has been sitting in my mind for a bit but yes 😔 arranged marriage au!

- llllllet's saaaayyyy that's ayame and tanjirou are betrothed months before the tragedy in okutama. ayame is newly thirteen, tanjirou is almost thirteen and they both agree that a marriage between them would be... well. not quite beneficial, but definitely something that would make their families happy, considering the recent tragedies that befell them (akihiko's death and tanjurou's waning health)

- their marriage is shelved for when they're older, although when exactly "older" is isn't exactly specified. maybe it's just for when they get to know each other more (or when they hopefully fall in love with each other)

- kie and tanjurou married for love, after all, so they at least want that for tanjirou. hanabi and junhiko know that a betrothal can have love blossom, so they want that for ayame

- both sets of parents are aware that their kids are awkward and probably wouldn't get married otherwise cksndkwmwow

- giyuu's confrontation with tanyame would go a little different. ayame would immediately step in to protect nezuko, since that's her future sister-in-law, oni or not

- would ayame still have a crush on giyuu? hard to say. i think she would, but there would be more guilt associated with it. people would definitely tease her about it a lot less, especially considering they know she's tanjirou's fiance

- this does mean that shinobu would tease ayame abt tanjirou a lot more, yes

- tengen would also be a little less critical about her during the hashira trial too. after all, it isn't just some boy, but her betrothed. that's a hard call to make either way

- he would be more critical of tanjirou during rld though. mostly about how he failed to protect ayame with the whole okami-san and danna-san punishing her (but at the same time he'd kinda???? respect him more too????? because he trusts his betrothed to manage herself through it all. listen, fits tengen has very complicated feelings all the time make him stop)

- now... *enitsu

- u know zenitsu would just be more livid from the onset. it's one thing for tanjirou to travel with two pretty girls, but it's another thing when he's betrothed to one of them and they still haven't gotten married yet what the fuck is wrong with you

- zenitsu would go feral biting any potential suitors of ayame much sooner tho

- genya... just watch out for zenitsu's teeth. ur teeth might grow back, but zenitsu's won't. pls remember that

- let's just... put aside the genyame in this au. cos it'll make me sad. they're est buddies though! (genya is frantically trying to forget he used to have a crush on ayame)

- ayame and tanjirou in this au would be a lot shyer about sharing a room though. which is. ridiculous. u guys are ENGAGED what do u mean u're embarrassed to be sharing a room!!!!!! that's literally ur future spouse

- u know what would be funny? if kyoujurou pretended he didn't know tanjirou was betrothed to ayame. ayame knows he knows, but tanjirou doesn't, and he's going to milk it for the entirety of mugen train

- :( his final conversation would include his wedding congratulations tho :( :( :(

- and his letter from chapter 96 too 😭 😭 😭

- but also tanjirou just casually introducing ayame as his betrothed 🥺 🥺 🥺 stop it tanjirou, ayame is blushing and it's ruining her image

- swordsmith village would be less sad though. cos they'd probably start properly dating - or, well, courting - after that kiss. but ayame doesn't go on that date with genya :(

- no shinazugawa "steal yo girl" genya in this au guys

- post-ssv zenitsu would be both livid and ecstatic. will keep pushing them to get married from the moment they return

- i think inosuke would still kiss ayame in kinstugi though. cos he's chaos in a boar mask

- that being said, would fracture even happen????? maybe they'd just yell at each other and separate to sulk until ayame gets hit with the kitsune oni anthrax attack

- then it's just tears on both ends

- "I'm Kamado Tanjirou, and this is my betrothed, Higuchi Ayame!"

"Tanjirou... you - you don't have to keep adding that we're betrothed..."

- this would also make the shinjurou hinting at ayame to marry senjurou thing be even funnier. like u know he's trolling, but zenitsu heard and gasped so loud that aoi thought he was having an asthma attack

- then he sends shinjurou scandalised looks the whole night

- listen. he did offer for senjurou to be her second husband (he's such a troll smh)

- don't ask me how chapter 97 will go. i'm not gonna think about it.

- the first time ayame introduces tanjirou as her betrothed - probably in asakusa - and his heart goes doki doki so hard that even nezuko is worried
