Spillane², or in which Kamille & Helene exist in the same universe at the same time

THEY'RE DISTANT COUSINS (LIKE SUPER DISTANT THEY DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL THE FIRST TIME THEY MET EACH OTHER IN THE SAME CLASS IN OXFORD ON HOW REMOVED THEIR LINES ARE)

"Okay, roll call so I know you're here... (after a few minutes) huh. That's new. Anyways, Spillane--"

*two voices pipe up at the same time, one at the front and the other at the next row over* "Present-- huh?"

Helene's eyes meet Kamille's for the first time.

They don't get time to properly talk to one another until the weekend after when Kamille sees Helene working a shift as a bartender in a less-known, but fairly popular underground pub after being dragged along by her roommates, in an effort to know each other.

(she has a good time and Helene tells her they can meet for tea the next day)

they discuss abt the family and confirm they ARE super distant cousins

anyways

they get together sometimes during weekends and have an amicable relationship, but college life is hectic and Helene is juggling her part-time work on top so it's more of a touch-base during meal-outings

(and because honestly if they get more time together, their respective braincells plot and clown™ together)

AND THEN.

Helene & María get assigned together to collaborate for a project and the rest of their history (aha i licherally should update LfM) starts

Kamille goes:

"You?" *hands Helene a sprig of lavender*

"Yeah." *tucks it to her ear*

"...Wouldn't personally go for... that... but godspeed, I guess."

"...Thanks. Are you?"

"They're all good, I guess."

"Nice."

Anyways life goes on, Spillane² meet each other's parents (in Kamille's case, Helene's maternal grandfather who more or less raised her); they get into shennanigans™; Helene/María break up (send F); Everyone graduates with honors; and they fuck off to their respective goals

I think Kamille goes back to the States (but add in ur hc's if u have plans for her @h-e-s-1 !!!) to work as a prof, casually dating, trying to stop smoking and trying to have tamer fun :)

Helene's tapped to work undercover against Maxie Gianturco, it's dark times and Helene starts her spiral aha

(not gon talk abt María bc i'm not sure what James plans for her but I wanna think she goes under the radar and starts her treasure hunting work 🙊)

anyways that's some my HCs on their past in COLLEGE but again Hes pls lemme know aha i love Kamille and Helene's dynamics <3

anyways back on track

Helene gets a wake up call (LfM unuploaded chapter my beloved) and starts sobering up, which is good bc the cops were nearly on to her

Helene joins Kamille in professordom in the same college after she straightens herself out and its a whole thing, bc Kamille & Helene's style of teaching is wild (but different) and students are confused whether they're relatives until they see them doing clown™ things

(and honestly, good for them!!! let them be clowns!!! but obviously on their down time bc they are adults™ now)

AND they still have the power!!! both possess the descendant bloodline, tho the adventures are now split against them two :)

Helene on the 1st, Kamille on the 2nd (and meeting Zhu :)) and during the 3rd, Helene on the 4th & 5th (bc i love giving her trauma but also i want her to meet the Amazonian :)) Kamille & Helene team up for the 6th; Kamille taking Zhu (after Helene finds him alive in the Casino), and Helene with Sam (who Kamille took with her when she looked for Vera)

it works bc Kamille gets the ticket from Anderson; and Helene actually had an invitation already (bc I'm flexing) as a foreign(!) investor 😂

anyways story proceeds as planned, Kamille dances with Zhu and they pass together to spy while Helene keeps María occupied, dancing with her and then stalling for time in the garden :)

Both get into the ship (esp since they're both masters of subterfuge aha).... and eventually get caught 😔

seperate holding rooms (?) for maximum effect

they lie where they can, tho Helene gets one (1) wrong and gets a round of torture 😔 giving her a split eyebrow and a black eye (and Helene almost bites her tongue off in an effort not to scream)

AND SINCE THEY'RE IN SEPERATE ROOMS......... WHEN THE FUCKS IN BLACK FIND THEY LIEDDDDD THEY ABT TO KILL BOTH...

María frees Kamille, but a gunshot goes off in the other room.

They run into the other room and Helene's back is turned on them, bloody... and the other guy slumps down, dead.

"Ever the dramatic little bitch, Helene?"

"What can I say, it's a brand™, darling."

María interrupts:

"Alright idiots, do we have an understanding?"

"Helene?" (K)

"Hm... fine. But you owe me." (H)

"I just saved--" (M)

Helene pulls a face, looking at her briefly, before settling on Kamille

"Alright, fine." (K)

"Okay, I'll tell Anderson and Co. you're a contact, María." (H)

"Have fun disappearing once we get back, or whatever, since you're so good at that." (K)

Tea & Shade thrown™ bc Kamille knows Helene's still miserable abt María 😂 but also i know and love that she's a sarcastic and petty Spillane <3

anyways they go on, kill the troops, finish the puzzle, dodge the traps, and get into the main chamber. Helene & Kamille step onto the dais together, and the rest is history.
