Ooo dangit I haven't been doing the reread so here's hoping I remember enough things from last year and the memes XD

Go grocery shopping with: Lucy. I just want to get that girl out of her house. She's so rich and sheltered, she'd probably find the whole experience exceedingly charming and distracting.

Have lunch with: Arthur. He seems nice, although I don't know exactly how we would get on, but I bet he would pick up the tab like the rich gentleman he is and we would have a nice time. :D

Have coffee with: Jonathan. I think he needs the break, honestly. And he might find a coffee or tea or hot chocolate he really likes and draw out some of his suppressed-by-trauma foodie instincts!

Go thrift shopping with: Mina! Being from a middle/lower-income background and also being a very fun and chill and supportive person, I think she'd be great at this sort of thing!

Explore a museum/art gallery/aquarium with: Van Helsing. I bet he would know all sorts of interesting facts at a museum and only some of them would be made up or totally incomprehensible! :D

Go the library/bookstore with: Seward, if only to get him out of his mental hospital. I would also ban him from the psychology section, maybe see if I can get him to read some lighthearted comic books.

Have as a plus-one at a wedding: Quincy, I am positive everyone would love him and I would be proud of bringing someone so fun and interesting to the event. :D But assuming he is around the same age as me, I would once again have to gently let down people who are all hopeful I have found a man XD (See Hardison in my last reply) (Although IDK, maybe in an alternate reality where Quincy lives, who knows?)

So excited for the new chapter of AToC! I won't be able to play it for a couple days, but I'm SO looking forward to it — both for the obvious reason (want to know what happens next!) and for the personal reason that I told myself I wouldn't start a D's route playthrough until there was a new chapter (because I use the new playthrough as essentially a reread/reminder of where I've been) and I've been holding myself back for what feels like AGES.

D's route awaits!! And it's one hell of a route, especially in CH10.

I had to pull out Photoshop for that one to add in a little extra tidbit for the high romance variant. I've been told it's especially effective at causing acute heart attacks.

Inklings Challenge 2024: Team Tolkien

It is time to officially announce the members of Team Tolkien for the 2024 Inklings Challenge

Members of Team Tolkien are challenged to write a science fiction or fantasy story within the Christian worldview that fits into one of these two genres:

Secondary World Fantasy: Stories that takes place in an imaginary realm that’s completely separate from our world

Time Travel: Stories featuring travel through time

These genres are open to interpretation, and creativity is encouraged. You can use either or both of the prompts within your story, or if you’re feeling ambitious, you can write multiple stories.

Members of Team Tolkien are also asked to use at least one of the following seven Christian themes to inspire some part of their story.

Admonish the sinner

Instruct the ignorant

Counsel the doubtful

Comfort the sorrowful

Bear wrongs patiently

Forgive all injuries

Pray for the living and the dead

Writers are challenged to complete and post their story to a tumblr blog by October 21, 2024, though they are encouraged to post earlier if they finish their story before that date. There is no maximum or minimum word limit. Writers who have not completed their stories before the deadline are encouraged to post whatever they have written by October 21st and post the remainder at a later date. Writers are also welcome to post the entire story after the deadline.

Posting the Stories

All stories will be reblogged and archived on the main Inklings Challenge blog. To assist with organization, writers should tag their posts as follows:

Mention the main Challenge blog @inklings-challenge somewhere within the body of the post (which will hopefully alert the Challenge blog).

Tag the story #inklingschallenge, to ensure it shows up in the Challenge tag, and make it more likely that the Challenge blog will find it.

9 People You Would Like to Know Better

I've been tagged by... A lot of people. @authortobenamedlater @fairytale-lights aaaaand it seems like somebody else, but those are the only ones I'm finding in my drafts. ANYWAY, thank you! <3

1. Three ships: Jisbon (Patrick Jane/Teresa Lisbon, The Mentalist); my first ship that really introduced me to the concept of shipping/fanfic/fandom in general. Garcy (Garcia Flynn/Lucy Preston, Timeless); to this day my best experience with fandom as a community. It's hard to explain, but something about the bonding that took place while everyone was fighting to save the show together will make that ship forever hold a space in my heart, I think. And Emotional Compass (Will Zimmerman/Helen Magnus, Sanctuary); Chosen for being the latest ship living rent-free in my head, though I'm due for a new one any time soon.

2. First ever ship: So Jisbon was the ship that introduced me to fandom, BUT my first ship before I knew what shipping was? Either Superman/Wonder Woman, or, going back further, a spider and a worm from a couple of kid books I read. I don't remember the titles or anything now, but they were buddies, and I shipped them hardcore.

3: Last Song: Champagne Problems (Clean Version) by Taylor Swift

4. Last Film: The 1950s Cinderella

5. Currently Reading: Pastwatch by Orson Scott Card, and Once Upon A Christmas Heart by Melody Carlson. Vastly different books, I'll say.

6. Currently Watching: Not much. I've nudged a few different shows, but nothing is really sticking.

7. Currently consuming: Nothing. I have a bottle of water I should probably be drinking from, though.

8. Currently Craving: Rest. I had a busy and stressful dream last night (late to work+can't find boss's phone number to call and explain+texts to coworkers aren't going through+tried to drive there but drove to the wrong side of town+oh no I tried to get back in my car to drive to the right side of town and it Wasn't There Anymore+you get the idea), and am hoping I rest better tonight.

Hi! I just want you to know that I REALLY liked the option to add extra customizable tabs to the blog dash, especially the "Blog Subs" tab for blogs I'm signed up for notifications from. As someone who's been super busy lately, it was nice to be able to select certain "I really want to make sure I don't miss anything" blogs and just scroll through the updates from them really quickly without getting lost on my main dash. Please make this a normal feature!

We’re glad you asked! As it happens, we are still actually working on these, and currently deciding which tabs we want to maintain and move to proper full features—rather than just Labs settings.

Separately, in the Labs division, we are also working on a possible new feature called Collections, which could, we hope, evolve into more robust customizable feeds. A little like custom tabs on the dashboard. This is very much a work in progress right now and in its early stages, so hold tight for updates on this one. We can’t wait to share more when we have it!
