Hey there.
TV’s Internet’s Jesse Hall.
I make a lot of stuff for the internet for entertainment purposes. I am also party to some cool stuff that I don’t make but like voice or help write or whatever.
Check out Tales of THATTOWN. Check out THATTOWN Entertainment. There’s a video on the YouTube channel that has an incomplete list of audio dramas I’ve been on.
Anons are always on with this profile. I won’t post heinous stuff, but if you’ve gotta just ask me a weird question, that’s a modus through which you can do that. Anyway, winter sucks I hope something I make helps out in some way.

Original post under the Orange Explanations under the cut.
Not For Me, Maybe For You
This is the section for every podcast I haven't cared for, but for reasons that may actually be points of appeal to other people. I typically enjoy immersive storytelling with a diverse cast of primarily adult characters, and I have trouble engaging with stories that could easily be someone reading or acting out an audiobook. None of this means the storytelling isn't good or doesn't deserve your attention!
There may be other reasons a story isn't for me, but if you wish to know, message me to learn.
Old Gods of Appalacia
Do you want to feel like you're sitting around a fire, listening to an older gentleman recount fables and legends from the Appalacian woods? This podcast features antlered gods and witchy women in the context of early American settlements and superstition.
Eeler's Choice
Eeler's Choice takes place in an alternative 1800s setting, in a world where magical, celestial eels are hunted for profit to benefit the rich. It's dangerous and unethical work - eeler's make decent money as far as fishermen go, but many ships never return. This maritime story is told through both acting and narration, switching perspectives as it follows several precocious young protagonists who learn their relationship to the powers that govern the sea, the questionable ethics of eeling, and what they're going to do about it.
Twigs & Hearts
Campers have been going missing...and those who set out to find them often disappear just as quickly. The fair folk can be mischievous lot, and they like to play with the lives of humans. When her crush disappears in the woods, one teen girl sets out with a friend to find them, determined to take every precaution and never lower her guard. But will she be able to trust her own perception long enough to save anyone? Give this scrappy indie production a try and find out.

Horror Audio Drama Recommendations?
Or adjacent. I enjoy nuanced explorations of the complexity of what it means to be human and the extent of forgiveness, the complexity of morality, acceptance of the strange and unsettling, ideally with a supernatural element, bonus points if there is a ritual component.
My favorites ranked so far:
1. Malevolent
2. The Magnus Archives
3. Wolf 359
4. Sherlock & Co (one of these things is not like the others)
5. Camp Here & There
6. Archive 81 (favorite to least favorite seasons: 3,1,2)
#audio drama#horror audio drama#Slowly working my way through I Am In Eskew but I'm a very ennui-prone individual#consuming too much ennui at once is dangerous and not recommended for individuals like myself#who already overproduce ennui as it is#anyway please recommend me stuff#mine

TV’s Internet’s Jesse Hall here to yell about Tales of THATTOWN. Show’s been around for nine years as of 2/16/2025. The show tackles the South and the supernatural. Mostly on account of us being from Alabama and areas connected therein. [We’ll blow up a building in Gadsden that doesn’t exist irl, real edge of your seat stuff]
We’ve been lacking in consistent uploads of late. But this year, I’m hoping to get back into the swing of at least an upload a month. [We’ll see] our newest Minisode can be heard here or wherever you listen to audio drama on the regular.
Aside from that, I have a show coming out later this year called Jesse’s Lockbox Anthology. All the stories featured are based on things I had vivid nightmares about. First series is called Curse of the Weeping Damsel and I am so very exited to finally bring this to audiences. Follow @lockboxpod for updates on that.
Happy Saturday, friends! It's time for
✨Fiction Podcast Self Promo Saturday!✨
Every week I invite audio drama folks to share their achievements and shout out anything they'd like to promote! My intention is to get more eyes and ears on all the awesome fiction podcasts out there, and to introduce folks to some cool new audio dramas!
If you have a podcast, a new episode, a crowdfunding campaign, casting call, or anything else audio drama related that you'd like to promote, reblog this post! I'll reblog every one I see throughout the day!
I also want to hear from you if you're planning on releasing a fiction podcast this year! I've created a page on my blog (here) which features audio dramas due to launch in 2025, which folks have told me about, or I've found information on. I'll be updating and adding to this page throughout the year!

You should check out Tales of THATTOWN, SINKHOLE, and Eeler’s Choice!
Also! OVERBROOK
Huge fan of SINKHOLE, and saving the rest of Eeler's choice for when there's enough for a solid binge, but I will absolutely get around to the other two sometime very soon.

This chart always irked me.
Most of these shows were made in the 2016 era of audio drama. And Tales of THATTOWN never got put on. It’s probably stupid to be mad at a jpeg from 2017/2018, but here I am.
Aside from that; really glad people are having strong thoughts about how audio dramas get recommended and how people talk about it. It’s been sorely needed.
there’s a very specific genre of post i see in the audio drama space sometimes that basically just goes like “hey im looking for more podcast recommendations! i’ve listened to [list of 5 of the most popular audio dramas in the past decade] [absolutely obscure pull of something that was probably made by a personal friend of theirs] [none of which tells us anything about the kind of show they like]”
which is not a BAD thing obviously, but i think there’s this effect of podcast listening being a generally less social experience than like, tv or movies, so that nobody knows what anyone else’s baseline of popular is, or what amount of fiction podcasts are out there, or how specific they can get with their asks before coming up empty handed
…
anyway i am once again asking for people to get specific about the kinds of fiction podcasts they want to listen to
