Just fought the final battle of a nearly 7 year game. A nearly 4 hour battle. My tank took much of the melee hits, and dropped twice. Used some well placed parries to cling to life a few times XD Ended the battle down, but got potion-ed in time for the JRPG credits screen to roll
Nearly 7 years with my lil Ronan Vysoren & loved every second. We're taking a bit of a break, and then starting another arc, some of us playing the same folks, some of us not, but WOW what a pay off. Saved Exandria! I'm sure it'll all be FINE no issues ever again! XD
Gonna miss my moms tho, and getting messages from them, that was nice ahah XD Time to leaky eyes myself to bed ^_^

During the Calamity, the Strife Emperor Bane and his brainwashed goblin armies were defeated by the Wildmother, leaving only his great armour (and troops of newly freed goblins) behind. The site of the battle, the Beynsfall Plateau, was reduced to rock and ash, destined to never grow plants again.

Things they better put in TLOVM in no particular order pt 4 of ?
Senokir! The fire Genasi jeweler they met in the City of Brass when they were trying to get Pike's armor. He's one of my favorite weirdos! I love him. I love his laugh, I love his stilted cadence, I love that he's never quite making eye contact. He's so fun and morbid and strange and truly like someone who's from another plane of existence. I love that he WASN'T a bad guy after all! He just enjoyed messing with them! He loved his wife. I need to see him in all his animated glory. (Voiced by Matt!)
The Aasimar children Vex saved from the slave market, Hunin and Kyor. This would be an easy thing to skip but I REALLY hope they don't. I think it's a good Vex moment for a variety of reasons I shan't get into. I also think it's a good way of deepening Salda Tal'Dorei's character. Because they skipped ahead so much and cut straight to the Briarwood arc, Uriel and Salda kind of got short changed story wise a tad. Her taking Hunin and Kyor in is one cannon moment for her that I think would be nice to keep. They already cut out her and Gilmore in the basement of his shop, these are the only two times we talk to her that I remember after the dragon's attack Emon.
I also want this to happen because I want to see the debate Vex had about adopting them be animated. Salda stepping in to take care of them because Vex was clearly busy slaying Dragons. I want the art of Hunin and Kyor babysitting their little De Rolos cousins.
I can't stress this enough but MORE Gilmore and specifically more VAX AND GILMORE. I said it before, and I'll say it again. We all know Vaxleth is endgame, we know we know. blah blah blah. Give us our Vaxmore lol. But more seriously, it is deeply important to the character of Vax that he cares for and loves both these people, and he deeply regrets hurting Gilmore's feelings and leading him on. You need to set it up TLOVM! Come on, load that chekov's gun of feels, we have a rakshasa and a "Whispered one" tower to see animated, and it's not going to hit right if you don't GET ON IT!

Yesterday I had my first session as a PC in Exandria! I was so excited and it turned out so good!!! We saw Keyleth!!! And Ludinus unfortunately... How great is that? We were a team sent to retrieve a Beacon in the ruins of Draconia, I was a Goliath Ioun Cleric from the Cobalt Soul !!! The Cerberus Assembly also sent someone to be part of the team, a 19 year old kid, a wizard! And it was so tragic because my character (Meg) definitely knew something was off with him but saw his potential and tried to be firm but kind. But then when we found the Beacon he immediately called Trent Ikithon (and the master played a mad good trent!!!). And of course I knew what was going on but not Meg. Well the kid was a Volstrucker (he uncovered his arms right at the end!!!) and Meg went to stop him as Trent called him back to him to teleport away with the Beacon. We had just killed a big dragon guy, Meg was beaten up, but she tried to persuade the kid not to go with Trent. He just magic missiled Meg right as she said "you're a good kid". And she went unconscious. IT WAS SO SAD!!! CALEB AND BEAU BAD ENDING VIBES!!!!!

It is 54 episodes into campaign 3 of Critical Role and the players still haven't realize that clocks and watches and timepieces are common tech in Exandria.
And Matt has to keep reminding them at least 2 per campaign hahahah

Day 24 of #Repostober
Ronan Vysoren, my main TTRPG character for nearly 6 years or so by now? Love them to bits ^_^ Playing them in BG3 as well ahaha XD
Tumblr media
So back in June, I was invited to play in a Tal'dorei campaign (yay, more D&D!) where some of the other players are playing Vox Machina kiddos, so I thought hey, why not live the dream ^_^
I’m playing Ronan, a dwarf fighter (Battlemaster, with a glaive of course), who is the adopted child of Allura and Kima and when they’re not at home with their moms in Emon, they’re off wandering, discovering, and enjoying the world and life. I’ll also be doing a one shot with Ronan in Osaka with some Japan Critters and SUPER looking forward to it ^_^
Enjoy!

So the big question tonight is where in the world are Laudna, Ashton, and Orym. Some people have posited that they’re still on Marquet, others that they’re in Issylra (where Ashton will be faced with their past), and still others place their bets on Tal’Dorei. Personally, I am the latter - but it doesn’t stop there. Because I don’t just have a theory that they’re on Tal’Dorei - I have a theory about where on Tal’Dorei they are.
The city of Wittebak was a gnomish settlement built into the Cliffkeep Mountains and heated by a series of geothermal pools. About 400 years ago, a group of displaced hill giants came across the hot springs on the surface and made their home there. Unfortunately, the giants’ activities triggered a deadly cave-in that killed a third of the city by releasing pockets of volcanic gas, suffocating and exploding them as they slept.
The area in which Orym, Laudna, and Ashton find themselves is described to have a sulphuric smell, which is standard for volcanic gas and common around hot springs. Speaking of hot springs, those ‘pools of strange colored liquid’ could very well be them, as several real life hot springs are quite colorful. Matt also describes them as being in a ‘valley-like chasm’, and while I can’t be certain this describes Wittebak’s location, its position on the map does appear to be between a set of mountains.
But the thing that most has me backing this theory is the history of Wittebak itself. You see, Wittebak was supposedly founded under the full light of Ruidus, and many claim that this is the true reason for its destruction. Additionally, a plot hook in Tal’Dorei Reborn says that aboleth that lives below the ruins not only knows the truth, but also “a secret that dates back to the Founding itself.”
And, well. That certainly does seem appropriate, now doesn’t it?
(And, for those who really want to see some Ashton backstory? Well, the Pools of Wittebak just so happen to be conveniently located only a hundred or so miles from Terrah, the home of the Earth Ashari. Awfully convenient, don’t you think?)

Trinket
This work is part of the @percahliaweek event. Day 3 - Trinket [Read on AO3]
It’s springtime in Whitestone, and the trees and gardens bloom with colors and scents that the wind carries for miles. As luck would have it, it is the first clear, sunny day of the season, and Vex’ahlia does not fancy spending it indoors after weeks trapped within the white walls of the castle. Yes, she has matters to attend to. Letters to read and write, accounting of the treasury to do, and a myriad of other boring paperwork she does not want to think about. But it is sunny and warm, the flowers look so beautiful from the tall windows, and the Sun Tree is all dressed in gold. Even Trinket sighs hopefully at her feet, dreaming of chasing squirrels and other critters in the woods or dipping his paws in the shallow stream and hunting the few fish that swim in the cold waters of the mountain.
“Trinket, we’re going out,” Vex’ahlia has made up her mind. She looks for Cassandra first, hoping to spend quality time with her sister-in-law and maybe get to know the girl a bit better. However, a server quickly informs Vex that Cassandra is away for the day and has left no word of her return, so Vex turns to the other remaining de Rolo.
It’s not hard to find Percival these days. He’s either locked in his office, pouring over paperwork of his own, or down in his workshop working on some grand design that he is determined to keep a secret, even from his wife. Vex’ahlia has tried countless times to ask him about it, but her husband’s mouth is a tomb that not even her brother could pilfer. She has tried tricks—some influenced by their prankster friend, Grog—and even using her best assets to seduce Percival into revealing information, but all she got from it was a night of luxurious lovemaking—a decoy to make her forget about the subject, no doubt.
“Percival, darling?” Vex’ahlia opens the door to Percy’s office. As soon as Percy’s deep blue eyes find her, he knows his wife wants something.
“Hello, dear. How can I help you?” He asks, setting aside the quill and straightening the papers he has been working on. He won’t get any more work done the rest of the day if Vex’ahlia has her way—which she always does.
“It’s such a beautiful day outside. Why won’t we go for a walk?”
“Of course, dear. Do you have anywhere in particular in mind?” Vex shakes her head at his question, which makes Percy smile. Good. This might be a good chance, then.
The descent from the hill where Castle Whitestone sits is made in silence but for the sound of the couple’s footsteps echoing against the gravel and the huffs and puffs of the bear that tracks behind them. The town is bustling with life as traders and commerce owners share their products, and construction noises are muffled by screams of children playing in the streets. It is a sight to behold. The town that was once filled with such darkness and death is now full of light and happiness. Alive against all odds, like Percival and Vex’ahlia.
Percy leads Vex by the arm to the northwestern part of town, passing by old houses that still need to be worked on and into a section of the Parchwood Timberlands that has recently been cleared off for further development. In the distance are the first signs of a new wall that will protect the new section of the city, an expansion that Percy can’t look at without feeling some sense of pride.
“Do you see this section, dear?” Percival points at the vast leveled-up grounds ahead of them. Vex’ahlia nods and looks at him, waiting patiently. Only in the bright, sunny light does she notice her husband’s scruffy beard starting to come out, as white as his hair.
“This is where the houses for the refugees will be built, correct?” She remembers reading something in some paperwork that passed through her hands a few months ago.
“It was,” Percy’s smile falls.
“Was, darling?”
“The recent numbers haven’t been as promising as we imagined. It seems that more Emonians are keen to return to their homes, or what’s left of them, than we thought, so we do not have a need for new houses at the moment.”
“Oh,” Vex’s sadness mirrors her husband’s. She is happy for those families that get to return home. Some might have to rebuild their lives from the ash like Vex and her brother did, but at least they will be home.
“Instead, I have decided to do something else with it. Such a great plot of land cannot go to waste, right?” It’s a rhetorical question. Percy knows Vex does not allow anything to go to waste if she has a say about it.
“What will it be, then?”
Percy doesn’t answer her. Instead, he grabs her arm again and leads her to a large covered square on the ground. He unveils the cover of a stone that reads Lord Trinket’s Public Park.
“Percival,” Vex’ahlia takes a step back, stunned at the gesture.
“There will be a statue as well,” He turns to his wife, preening at her reaction. “Do not worry, Trinket and I will make sure they do a wonderful job on it. Right, buddy?” Percy rubs the thick fur atop the bear’s large head, who groans in agreement.
“Darling, you didn’t have to.” Vex’s eyes fill with tears. She lunges into her husband, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him longingly. “Do you see this, buddy?” She then turns to the bear as she wipes the tears with the cuff of her sleeve. “This park is for you. So we can come play every day, buddy.”
With a loud, happy growl, Trinket turns his back on the couple and starts running around the large plot, quickly finding a muddy pit to roll around in. What is bare today will soon be full of large trees, bear, bee, and butterfly-friendly flowers, plenty of shaded benches, and maybe even a few tables where families can come and enjoy nature. Whitestone is alive indeed.
