the drama has the best ending truly by the fact that we actually ended up somewhere feelingswise with the two. the anime is second best because the ending was setting up a second season and it was pretty solid. the manga is dead last I'm still mad

it's still so funny that the live action yamato nadeshiko chose to be logical and cut out sunako's nosebleeds but just her nosebleeds and nothing else

Personal Note:

I’ve been preparing for a while because I wanted to make this with a lot more thought. Sorry for the length of this post. I spent quite a bit of time on it, but I didn’t realize it would get so long! He is one of my top favourite voice actors (both English and Japanese) ever. To me, he’s a relatable, awesome, and passionate inspiration. He puts his all into every role he does, and he never gives up no matter who tells him to. 

I could probably go on about how much I like many of the roles he’s done, but that would be a whole other essay in itself. I even considered watching Corpse Party (the scaredy cat I am) because I heard he was in it. Yeah, I’m one of those people who gets drawn to anime when I figure out certain studios and voice actors are attached to it. I have watched a few episodes of some really bad anime because I heard he was in it. No regrets! Okay, maybe I have a few... I still haven’t watched them all though! I plan on watching a ton more, and that includes a few bad apples here and there.

Despite all the hurdles and adversity he faces, he overcomes it! He has had so many amazing roles, he sings, he’s good at shogi, and he’s just a good person. I respect him a lot. Honestly, I can’t word stuff too well, but I sincerely hope he continues working, maybe gets married and has kids (since he said he wanted to), and experiences all the happiness he deserves.

I hope to see them acting together eventually (even if Mikorin and Seo never really communicated). Thanks to Nobu, we have a voice to this madly embarassed bishounen. Katsuki “Kacchan” Bakugou - Boku no Hero Academia

[Bakugou might not always be my cup of tea as a character, but his voice made me like him somewhat anyway whether he’s an asshole or not. There are a few scenes in season three that hit me with mad feels,, but even during season one and two, Nobu aced this role. This role is what shot him up to one of my favourite voice actors. Karma Akabane - Assassination Classroom

[While Bakugou is one type of crazy, Karma is another. Honestly, he’s such a sly, cunning, and mischievous character, but that’s what we all like about him, right?]

Trailblazer Arrangement:

This is my first time transcribing a song and arranging it! I improvised and made up some stuff (mostly guitar solos that just didn’t fit as well logically on piano). I usually don’t like (actually, I kinda hate) transcribing because it’s basically like trying to copy down a book that someone reads aloud (and you can’t look at the text). But it was worth doing this! He’s definitely not my favourite singer, but I’d still listen to him.

I didn't want to go with an original score for this one because I felt like I wanted to improve a lot more as a composer and artist (as if I'm qualified enough to be called those terms). When I make one for him, I want to go all out.

To be able to pay for his training, he worked at a 7-Eleven and a post office.

If the world was going to perish in 24 hours, what would you do? Gather all my friends and family, and have a BBQ party. [I would just write something in case it resurfaces. I would want to write my thoughts, opinions, and experiences along with the people around me.]  

Where do you want to work?: A place where I could grow. [Same!]

What are your thoughts when you look back at 2010? I issued a sex appeal to play [Usui], and worked hard to reach the targets! [From the amount of screaming fangirls, I think you did just fine.]

What is your current aim?: To be more playful and get more out of acting.

So I’ve been sleeping all day because my body decided it wanted to get sick at the last second, so I’m just now finally getting around to episode 60 of Vrains. What did I think about the episode? Well Ghost Girl vs Brave Max went as well as everyone expected. Naoki got his ass kicked because he didn’t know how certain effects work and Emma finally got her first win in the show because of the fact that Naoki is an idiot. Now I understand that not everyone who watches the anime plays the card game in real life like I do so this common knowledge might not be as common as I have come to see it as, which is why I see a lot of people relating to Naoki on his dueling skills side, but for crying out loud man, you live in a world where Duel Monsters is everywhere! Even if it wasn’t, you are apart of your school’s Duel Club! You should know this stuff!

Anyway, as for the rest of the episode, I loved how much RL action we got. It begins with Yusaku explaining to Kusanagi about the Bohman situation and all of them wondering just how he was able to get all this information about him. Then Yusaku apologizes to Kusanagi about the whole Jin’s situation and surprise surprise, he doesn’t blame Yusaku, at the current moment, and is just happy all of them came back safe. I liked the small detail they added in of Takeru looking at Yusaku in concerned, like he is worried that Yusaku is blaming all of this on himself when he really shouldn’t. 

Speaking of Takeru, the dude is officially a member of the team now since Kusanagi built an additional room in his truck just for him to be able to log into the Vrains. Okay two questions to this, 1: when the actual hell did he do this and really how with as much room in his food truck that he has and 2: were Yusaku and Takeru sharing a room the first time they logged into Link Vrains? They seemed just fine with one room the first time around unless Kusanagi is just purposefully separating them. I like to believe that is the case because that is just funny. 

Then we go to the asshole of the week, Blood Shepherd, who I just have no words for other then what the actual f*ck is wrong with you? Let’s purposely trigger someone’s PTSD into getting what you want. Yeah that sounds smart. Also, the Lost Children, besides Spectre, really haven’t been having a good time lately, huh? Ryoken being an ass to Yusaku during their final duel and using the words that have been keeping him going all this time against him, Jin, who was actually starting to get better after ten long years, having that happen to him, and now we are going to have to watch Takeru get out right mind raped by BS. Once again, if Soulburner doesn’t snap by the end of this, I will be very shocked. 

Anyway, before that, we get to see some of the most adorable interactions ever from Yu-Gi-Oh Vrains with Yusaku, Takeru, Aoi, and Naoki walking to their school. Takeru is just being an adorable fanboy to Aoi and Aoi is just so confused about the whole thing like “who are you and why are you talking to me?” and Yusaku is just like “this is why I can’t take you anyway.” XD I love RL interactions. They are so great. Then Naoki shows up and wow, he is short when he is standing next to Yusaku and Takeru. It is so weird seeing Yusaku and Takeru as the tall ones since they always seem shorter then they actually are, especially Takeru. Anyway Naoki and Takeru are talking about how Takeru should join the duel club as well and that Naoki would be his teacher, oh that’s a good one, since he is Playmaker’s best friend after all (I love how he says that to Yusaku’s actual best friend) and that catches Aoi’s attention into telling Emma about him and that’s how we got the whole Ghost Girl vs Brave Max duel in the first place because Naoki really can’t learn to keep his mouth shut.

We also got a quick flashback of Naoki fanboying over Playmaker, calling them, and I quote “more like soulmates” and I’m just groaning so hard at this. Don’t even get me started on the whole “I still feel the warmth of his hands” line and at that point, I’m pretty sure this guy is just having the craziest wet dreams.

So Emma decides to use Blue Angel as her way to get Naoki to show up, much to Aoi’s dismay, and I do like how this episode does establish that Blue Angel is still a thing. I was wondering if Aoi had to delete her old account as Blue Angel to be remodel as Blue Girl since she had a new name and everything. I guess I shouldn’t be all that surprised. In real life, you can have multiple accounts of the same thing under your email for example. 

We get the duel, Emma kicks his ass, and then we cut back to the boys with them believing to have found Windy’s gate. Of course it is a trap set by the asshole of the week and just when Playmaker is about to be pulled in, Soulburner pushes him out of the way and now he is trapped inside this sphere, reliving his hell from the past ten years with Playmaker more then likely going to be blaming himself so much for this. Oh joy. Also something interesting to note is that a glowing yellow ball attached itself to Soulburner just as he was being pulled in. What that could be is anyone’s guess at the moment. All I know is that I don’t think it is a good thing and if Soulburner snaps, I think that yellow ball could play a huge part in the reason why.

That about does it for 60. 61 I am so looking forward to because we are getting so much Takeru backstory next week!

I decided to give the subbed Special Drama a second watch and do a little write up on it, because this may be the funniest thing tri. has given us so far.

If you haven’t watched it yet, please DO IT NOW! It really must be seen to be appreciated fully, as the Voice Actors are fantastic in this and it’s particularly satisfying to hear the audience’s reactions - proving that the running gags in the series are pretty much universal.

The drama starts with a brief recap video with scenes from Saikai and Ketsui. Yay! Nothing like being reminded of the kids happy, normal lives with their Digimon before all the bad things happened and their lives were wrecked! 

By the way, regarding the timeline: this beach trip actually fits the series. It takes place “in one summer day”, after the trip to the hot springs, but before Mystery Man shows up. Looking at the timeline of Ketsui, this probably happens after the Monday when Taichi & co talk to Nishijima at the school and before the chain of events that starts when  Orgemon appears and culminates with the school festival. This explains why everyone is still so happy-go-lucky. 

TL;DR: it may take some mental gymnastics, but this story fits the main timeline and so, presumably, it could be considered ‘canon’.

There’s something utterly endearing about the voice actors, especially the veteran ladies who are all sorts of adorable. I love how some of them are wearing clothes that reflect their characters - Shigematsu Atori stans particularly hard for Piyomon! Mimi’s actress is wearing a dress with cactuses (cacti?)! 

I only recently found out Tentomon isn’t played by an old man but rather by a very talented and prolific young actor, so he’s automatically my favourite (along with Legend Takeuchi Junko).

Speaking of which, it’s now established that Tentomon is a major enabler in Koushirou’s new-found lewdeness, which is both hilarious and frightening when you think about it. Koushirou stealing his dad’s camera is bad enough, but Tento encouraging him to take bikini pics is a new low.

This one belongs in a “Digimon out of context” blog.

Agumon’s food gags are getting old fast (Tailmon agrees). I still laughed though because THAT VOICE.

Also, it seems Mimi dragged Jou into this mess, which is both expected and admirable.

JouxMimi fans, rejoice!

The point of this trip is to introduce Jou to Meiko, which the movies kind of had to skip over. Can’t blame them for that, but thankfully we get a nice little moment out of this. 

Jou calls her Mochizuki-kun, which is pretty cute!

Jou, the only person who would match Meiko in an apology contest.

I realise tri. has made me incapable of interpreting any of Takeru’s lines in a straight-faced way, but c’mon, this is TOTALLY intentional.

In case you’re wondering, Yamato and Taichi are still on a break.

Describe tri. in three words.

Even Hikari is starting to troll Yamato and Taichi. Takeru is a bad influence.

This applies to cooking, bands, holding grudges, and career options.

You know, asking Agumon to light a fire is not a bad idea considering that it probably saved them from starving plenty of times when they were kids.

Does this grill belong to Hiroaki? Is that why Yamato is so against Agumon destroying it?

Oh, *BURN*.

Someone take the url “Bacon Yamato” since I believe Knife of Ramen is already taken. 

And yes, Agumon, I’m sure he’s delicious.

Takeru quitely slips in an “onii-chan” at this point because he’s the literal worst.

Anyway, Yamato being a barbecue aficionado, expert, and utter perfectionist is one of my favourite new random facts about him. Thank you, tri.

Quick, someone write a AU when Yamato presents the Japanese version of Kitchen Nightmares. I’m sure he and Gordon Ramsey would hit it off.

Sidenote, but in addition to a perfect voice, Jou’s VA has the best facial expressions.

Koushirou fainting after Mimi poses for him in a swimsuit requires zero animation to land, and it’s AWESOME.

Digimon: doing jokes about teen pervs without actually showing any questionable content. Hooray!

Taichi and Yamato blushing for girls in bikinis is my new aesthetics.

Also, faithful to the spirit of tri., this doesn’t really specify who they’re blushing for. I mean, it’s Sora, but Meiko is also mentioned and Mimi’s around so all your shipping fantasies remain intact! tri. truly is a gift to all fans.

This suave motherfucker.

It’s undeniably canon that Takeru has a weird obsession with Meiko’s cuteness and if it wasn’t for the age difference we’d all be freaking out about this ship.

It’s also undeniably canon that Takeru likes older women and you cannot convince me otherwise.

Takeru immediately compliments the other girls because you would want to keep your options open while showing the other guys how it’s done.

The voice of reason in this mess and probably why Takari never happened.

Mimi’s right. Taichi should learn from Takeru. In fact, everyone should take notes.

I literally went on Merriam Webster to look up “smarty” because I’m adopting that word from now on.

Please, Yamato, spend more time with your brother.

As people have pointed out, this shows that the only reason why Yamato ever got with Sora is because Takeru pulled all the strings and told him what to do at all times.

Exactly, Yamato. Good strategy.

Takeru’s VA is literally Takeru IRL and I’m dying at his perfect expressions.

Feminist Queen Mimi is right as always.

Honestly,  the way these Digimon talk about their partners, there’s no way anyone can have self-esteem issues in this team! A Digimon is a girl’s best friend!

“You smell nice” and “It feels good getting hugs from you”. Only Takeru could make these pick up lines work!

“It’s better to be pathetic than to be a pervert” - life lessons from the Digimon Adventure boys. 

I simply imagine Gomamon saying this at random points in Jou’s life.

And because this is tri, you have to end a comic sketch in a tragic note and eerie foreshadowing! FUN!

In Conclusion: This very short drama has a fantastic script that totally gets the characters, the amazing cast gets to shine, and it’s FUNNY as hell. Please, TOEI, do more of these in the future. We’ll buy it.

Also, can we please have a spin-off series dedicated to Takeru’s life as a professional  troll and fuckboi? Cause I’d watch the shit out of that and I know I’m not alone.
