Inoue on Kogure's cameo in REAL

In one of the Slam Dunk kanzenban volumes, the inside cover has this interesting sketch by Inoue that ties in Slam Dunk and REAL (one of his other basketball mangas).

Kogure's going 「ははは　リアルにもでちゃった」　(which basically translates to "hahaha... and I've even/also appeared in REAL") and Sakuragi's in the background looking a little mad/jealous, saying 「ずるいぞ」 ("that's not fair").

Which means, the guy appearing behind Nomiya on page 92 of REAL's volume 1 is indeed Kogure ;)

I read volume 13 of Takehiko Inoue's wheelchair basketball manga, REAL, this evening, where it becomes a professional wrestling manga, and I think I'm feeling the opposite of how BERSERK fans felt about BOAT ARC? Scorpion Shiratori is a new addition to the cast, there is no basketball, and I feel like I might cry? My heart feels like it's too full because of how perfect those 200 pages were?

I'll be out of REAL soon and I know it isn't really something that Inoue's going to finish, but how can something be a detour from the wider plot when it's so right and realized and beautiful?
