Rham's desire to return to the Underdark was something Briza had her own conflicted feelings about. Her family had been exiled by house Baenre when she had been but a child. They'd met up with other exiled members of Jaelre and made a life on the surface. The only reason Briza would desire to return would be for revenge.

"Why would you want to go back?" It was blatant question. "Or is constantly having a dagger pointed at your neck a kink of yours?"

Amalthea was not entirely sure what she was expecting when Ylva bent down to her, hands upon her cheeks. Even as it became increasingly obvious what she would do, Amalthea remained frozen in place and in disbelief until it actually happened, until their lips met in a warm, firm kiss. In her disbelief and shock, Amalthea had little time to process it and to return it, so she did not, staring bewildered up at Ylva once she parted.

"... Oh."

Should... she say thank you? No, that did not quite feel right.

"Well... that was nice."

Her fingers curled into the front of his shirt, pulling him in closer to her as their lips met in a sweet kiss. His lips warm against her own, Luna could not help the smile that spread across hers as she deepened the kiss further, leaning in and tiptoeing in the process. Lips parted and she soon set herself back down, cheeks flushed and lips still curled into a smile.

"Currently, we're all a bit 'wet behind the ears,'" Gwenifar told him and gave a reassuring smile. "I believe it's a side effect of our shared abduction. So don't be too hard on yourself." Some people coped with jokes. Gwenifar coped with looking at the facts and finding a solution—temporary or permanent.

His concern caught her attention and she glanced up at him for a moment. Then she returned to focusing on her work. It would have to do for now; It did frustrate her she was not capable of doing what she used to be able to do.

"I am a cleric of Ilmater, my duty is to sacrifice my own comforts to ease other people's burdens," she told him. "Your concern is touching but not required."

"Well lucky me for their terrible aim!" He had to admit that making light of a situation like this was his way of coping with it, being all too serious about it would make it all grim even if that is what it could have been. "You're making me feel wet behind the ears! I can't say I have had a lot of battle experience in my years away from Baldur's Gate" While Gwen was busy tending to the wound, he observed her. "Please don't overexert yourself, with everything that has been going on and this battle just now you must be exhausted too." He was hinting at the little critters, he didn't want to admit to it but was feeling it too. He felt rusty during the battle like his muscles had forgotten all he had learned during his travels.

Gwenifar was not good at relying on others. She did much better when others relied on her. That was something she was good at; being there for others. Perhaps she was too much like her mother, overly giving. Or maybe her mother was why she wanted to stand on her own so much.

That was something to delve into later. Or never.

But she supposed she hadn't been very good at hiding her burdens for August to make note of it. She was well aware of what their destiny may be if they did not remove these parasites in time. Death with something masquerading with their memories.

She gave August a polite and grateful smile.

"I appreciate the sentiment," she told him, "and I do hope it does not come to us needing that. I am...I am quite sure we can cure ourselves. We've staved it off for this long, after all."

But when would luck run out?

She did not think herself overly extraordinary and certainly not in that moment, focused entirely on something so mundane. She had been sat near August near the campfire, needing its light, as she sewed up a hole that had been made in one of August's shirts. Biting the excess thread off once she was finished, her eyes met his and she smiled, before handing the finished shirt back to him.

"You flatter me." Though, she had noticed him watching her work and had indeed noticed his gaze upon her more than once whilst in camp. "There's no need, really. No need to try and butter me up-- I don't mind doing these things for you." Because, of course, he would only be saying such sweet things for that reason, right?

His hand engulfed her own, her eyes widening slightly at the difference in size between them. A first impression of August might paint him as a touch intimidating due to his size but he held her hand with such gentleness. Their eyes met and with a smirk, he pressed his lips to the back of her hand. His lips lingered for only a few seconds but in that time, Lunaris felt as though heat travelled from that point of contact all the way through her. Fingers curled into his and she smiled bashfully, her gaze turning off to one side if only to avoid eye contact with August, lest it fluster her further.

Lunaris had braced herself for an impact, for a blade to cut into her knowing that she had no time to cast a ward or get out of the way. Eyes scrunched shut in anticipation but instead of a blade, she felt hands forcing her back suddenly, winded as her back slammed into a stone wall. Eyes opened a moment later to find August before her and very quickly, she realised the situation. The blade had cut into his back before another of their comrades cut the enemy down and though he may have tried to keep his pain hidden, she could still see it in his face. A hand pressed to his cheek, guiding his gaze and his attention back to her, anything to distract him from the pain.

"Why did you...?" She asked, breathless, worry clear in her tone. You idiot, she wanted to scold him, but refrained. Healing words were spoken, her hands glowed a pale blue briefly, and she hoped the spell had been enough to at least close his newly acquired wound.

It was a silly little tradition, the hanging of mistletoe to invite kisses in the festive season. Though she had indeed heard of it, Lunaris had not taken part in it before, spending so much of her life in the temple. Upon first spotting the mistletoe above herself and August, she smiled, excited and pleased that she could see the tradition at work at long last... then realisation began to settle in her gut that it would mean kissing August.

Cheeks warmed both in colour and to the touch as she stared longer at the offending plant, gaze shifting at last to August's rather expectant one. He leaned down within her reach and waited for her next move.

"You're sure this is okay?" Lunaris asked quietly, her hands cupping his face. Given his assent, she smiled again before pressing her lips softly to his in a chaste little kiss.

Gwenifar settled down at camp beside her newer travel companion. It would be good to get to know the people she was with, and she had heard some implications from Ylva.

"So, you're from Baldur's Gate?" She asked. "I do work in the lower city to help people in need. I assume you've been away from a bit, but did you know anyone you might want to know how they are?"

Gwenifar's work with the Open Hand Temple often lead her to the more seedy areas of the city. And yet also to the wealthier areas to convince the elite to donate to the temple's causes.

"One of the perks of being short," Ayla said with a small laugh. At 5'4", it was relatively easy to blend into a crowd. A good thing for her, since she was a rogue and all.

"I appreciate the optimism, for what it's worth." Far too many of their party were overly realistic or downright negative. It was a breath of fresh air, to have someone say something optimistic for once. "I hope we can make it too. Hopefully Halsin has some ideas for figuring out our... tadpole problem."

"Lucky! I grew up in the lower city of Baldur's Gate." Ylva smiled. "While I prefer to not stand out, I don't have the physique to hide as well as others." It was easy to spot her from a distance after all standing at 6 feet tall. "Exhausted is a good word for it, yes." The barbarian admitted, letting out a tired sigh. "But I am glad everyone is safe and sound." She looked in the direction of where everyone was gathered, having fun with drinks in tow. "We can only hope for a better tomorrow. And that we can get to Baldur's gate unscathed." Smiling sheepishly she added. "I might have jinxed that now..."
