HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AGATHA CHRISTIE! (b. September 15 1890)
Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan, DBE (née Miller; 15 September 1890 – 12 January 1976) was an English writer known for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, particularly those revolving around fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She also wrote the world's longest-running play, the murder mystery The Mousetrap, which has been performed in the West End of London since 1952. A writer during the "Golden Age of Detective Fiction", Christie has been called the "Queen of Crime"—a moniker which is now trademarked by her estate—or the "Queen of Mystery". She also wrote six novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott. Guinness World Records lists Christie as the best-selling fiction writer of all time, her novels having sold more than two billion copies.

Tag Game: Fandom Edition
I was tagged by both @mistmarauder and @princessfbi, presumably to expose me.
Current Hyperfixation: 911 (it's appalling how fast that came back) and my original blorbos
Previous Hyperfixation: Uh... probably Timeless? That show held me strong in its grip for two solid years but I don't think there was anything super strong before or - OH YEAH. REDDIE. HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN FALL OF 2019. A DIFFERENT TIME.
Top 5 Ships of All Time: Buddie (911), Phrack (Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries), Spirk (Star Trek), Garcy/Garcyatt (Timeless), and Kastle (The Punisher - look I'm still mad, okay? I'm always gonna be mad. the scars run deep!!!)
Top 5 Ships at the Moment: Buddie (911), Xedgin (DND:HAT), House/Wilson/Cuddy (House M.D.), Dom/Brian (DO NOT JUDGE ME. LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE, BITCHES), and Jisbon from The Mentalist
Top 5 Fandoms of All Time: I'm terrible at being "in" fandoms so this is a mix of fandoms I was active in and fandoms whose fic I devoured the most - 911, The Man From UNCLE, Star Trek, Timeless, IT
(Honorary mention to Castle - since I really was SO into that show - but it hasn't stood the test of time with me the way other fandoms such as Star Trek have.)
Favorite Female Character of All Time: Phryne Fisher
Favorite Minor Character of All Time: Xenk Yendar (he is, sadly, only in the film for about 15 minutes)
A Rarepair that you love: As the official captain of both Garcyatt and Jamy, I have to go with them
An OT3+ that you love: LOOK AT ALL OF US LOVING THE MAN FROM UNCLE THROUPLE WE'RE SO SEXY FOR THIS
Favorite Movie: The Man from UNCLE (the people who joined me post-Timeless and 911 have NO idea the insanity that movie inspired in me. NONE WHATSOEVER. @captainofthefallen KNOWS!!! SHE WAS THERE, GANDALF!!!)
Favorite TV Series: 9-1-1 and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries
Favorite Book: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
First Site you Ever Read Fanfiction on: I don't even remember the name. Um. Uh. It was a LotR site.
Where You Find Most of your Fanfiction Today: Ao3
Favorite Social Media Site for Fandom: Tumblr

MARCH Q&A
Q:Will the crowns certain witches have be addressed in Agatha's show?
A: No crown lore in AGATHA I'm afraid! IIRC someone official said that Wanda gets a crown bc of her Creation magic or something.
Q: Can you share any information about the Wonder Man series?
A: Sorry, sources have been eerily quiet on Wonderman.
I'll share whenever I hear anything though.🙃
Q: any update on spiderman 4? (tom) Marvel v. Sony is still the last I heard on it. It'll take some time before they hash this out
Got some interesting info coming soon for that R-rated animated project Sony is cooking though 👀
Q: Any other F4 villains/ antagonists besides Galactus and Silver Surfer?
A: Too early to tell currently. (Is Galactus and SS even confirmed??) Last I heard is that the script was still being touched up.
Q: How big is Bullseye's role in Born Again?
A: It's substantial but not a HUGE role.
Q: Can you tell us if anything has been cancelled? (Disney+ shows, future movies)
A: I haven't heard of anything getting canned from any of my sources 🤷🏽♀️
Q: What do you think will be the best upcoming what if season 3 episode
A: Nice try Imao. The mech episode will be a lot of fun though
Q: Any more exciting Agatha news soon? 👀
A: Actually got quite a bit of Agatha news coming VERY soon 👀🤔
Q: Will the darkhold make an appearance in Agatha?
A: It can't make an "appearance" since Wanda destroyed them all, but it's certainly mentioned.
Q: Any update on when Eternals characters will return?
A: Check recent posts.
Q: Any details on what if…? Season 3 release? Spring? Summer?
A: it's been reported that it was planned for release this year, but it's unclear if that's still the case.
The lot of you will be the first to hear if I get any word on it
Q: What was your favorite movie from 2023?
A:
2023 was killer. Besides the obvious answers like Barbie and Oppenheimer, I thought these two films were amazing.
Q: Is Mysterios what if return as a cameo or a main focus?
A: More than a cameo forsure.
Q: Will we see more of Joe Locke in mcu after Agatha 👀👀
A: 100%. Billy has a lot to do
Q: niche question lol but do you know anything about John Walker's arc in Thunderbolts?
A: My sources have said that he's been doing his best to redeem himself.
If his best is the "right" way is to be determined…
Q: Will we ever get a strange academy? I just got done reading the comics!
A: I've heard whispers of something inspired by Strange Academy, AND Zelma Stanton is appearing in Ironheart
Q: X-Men
A:
Q: Is there any updates with Ironheart dates?? I swear I read they finished filming a while bak
A: They finished filming ages ago but I heard they're reworking things and will reshoot soon if they haven't started already.
Q: Is there any validity to the Plastic Man movie rumours?
A: I've been told no, but I want them to be true 😭
Q: Do you think part 2 of Born Again will happen?
A: Yes I do.
Q: What marvel character would your ideal film, series, or special presentation be about?
A: Specifically Joe Fixit 👀👀👀👀
Q: Should we worry about Captain America 4?!
A: I wouldn't be worried. Marvel is doing to Cap 4 what they did to DDBA:
They saw what they had, and are putting in the time and money to make it better.
Q: Will Thunderbolts be Rated R?
A: Nah I would highly doubt that.
Q: will we ever see daredevil in a comic accurate costume
A: Yes. He was supposed to get a new suit in the old finale (classic Marvel TV fashion, I know). Not sure about the new finale tho. Might be saved for part 2.
Q: Will DD:BA have a mature tone, and show the religious side of Matt like the Netflix show?
A: Yes. It was reworked to bring more of that mature tone back, especially in the action.
Q: Any future plans for Zemo in Thunderbolts or the MCU moving forward?
A: In Thunderbolts? No. In the MCU moving forward? Yes.
Q: Do we know who is on the table with the tag on the toe in Agatha?
A: The toe tag says W. MAXIMOFF 👀
Q: Do you know if we will see Mephisto in the MCU soon?
A: Mephisto will appear in Ironheart
Q: Is Wonder Man among the cancelled projects Bob Iger is referring to?
A: No. Don't expect anything that is already filming to get cancelled.
Q: will the survivors from the what if zombie episode be in marvel zombies?
A: Yes.
Q: Is Vision Quest still in the works?
A: The last i heard it was still in the works.
Q: Will we see blade in live action before his movie?
A: Unlikely. But we'll see him in animation at least 😭
Q: DDBA is releasing this year so what time of this year should we be expecting it to release
A: DDBA is NOT releasing this year
Q: Will Agatha and Rio have an stable romantic relationship in the series?
A: More like the opposite of stable 👀 💜
Q: Why did you lie about the Agatha series being titled Agatha All Along? D+ reveals its just Agatha
A: That's like asking Disney why they lied when they originally announced the series to be Agatha: House of Harkness 😭😭
My source was certain so I reported it Imao

Storytelling asks?? STORYTELLING ASKS!!!!! Okay, here goes nothing!
1, 8, 16, 17, 18, 19 (alika), 25, 26, 31, and 33!
(so sorry for the massive spam. I just love hearing about people's stories, hehehe.)
1. what’s the last screenshot you’ve taken for your story
Alika looking mischievous next to a not-so-victorian gal.
8. what about your story are you proud of?
"that i'm writing it" would be the sincerest answer but let's say that I'm proud of my victorian era knowledge and how I deliberately decided to take artistic freedom on this or that.
16. what about the process do you enjoy?
Having my characters involved in something! I love to have a context for my very neurodivergent daydreaming
17. what about the process do you hate?
Translating 🚬
18. choose a song that reminds you of your story
I have a whole playlist to help with my writing process but, if I have to choose one ... I'LL CHOOSE TWO. THIS ONE would absolutely be the opening theme if it was a tv/streaming series and THIS is the one I always listen to while writing!
19. choose a song that reminds you of -> Alika
Tons of songs remind me of him (of course eheh) but I'm going for one that reminds me of him specifically in the Conundrum
Free - Florence and the Machine
25. what inspirations have you drawn on for your story?
My main sources of inspiration are everything by Agatha Christie and the Raven Cycle series. I'm trying to implement a slightly gothic style, inspired by Brontë (in the full version of not here on Tumblr!!)
26. have other sim stories inspired you?
I don't have a sim story that "inspired" mine but I have sim stories that inspired me to start posting it!
@rebouks @morrigan-sims are the first storytellers/legacy players I started interacting with and they'll always be in my heart. All their stories are super engaging! (yeah I know one it's you)
@moon-simmers @scythesms
for me, they are the best you can find when it comes to historical storytelling, I adore their content
31. drop some random trivia about your story
> Ebe's company is inspired by Garrard & Co, the company was very popular in the Victorian period and was the Queen's jeweler
> In addition to his novels, Alika published a short erotic novel in the monthly magazine The Pearl using a pen name. He never got to publish the final chapter since the magazine was forced to shut down by authorities in 1881
33. recommend another creator’s story!
all of the creators I tagged above deserve at least ONE look.
Moon Simmers Pride Legacy
Scythesms Ambroise Legacy
Morrigan Sims Romancing the Queen
Rebouks Somnium
@mattodore isn't strictly a story-tellers but the photography for her dovy legacy basically makes it a mute film.
IF YOU HAVE STORYTELLING SIMBLR PLS SEND THEM TO ME I love reading them but I don't have the time to dig into the tag because y'know... Adulting.
#answers#morrigan sims#Pls ignore my syntax errors im trying to step out of my comfort zone 😭#And thank you sm for all these wonderful questions! It helped me a lot#conundrum trivia

Comfort Characters
Rules: post your top 5 favourite comfort characters
I was tagged by the absolutely wonderful @lovebillyhargrove thank you so much 💜💜💜
1. Harringrove 😗😛
I know I’m cheating but I can’t really think about one without the other these days, by the end of season one I knew that I’d die for Steve Harrington and that love has only grown stronger as Stranger Things (2016-) has progressed, the only person who loves Steve Harrington more than me is Billy Hargrove. And Billy Hargrove what an asshole, I love him 🥰🥰🥰
2. Will Graham
Everyone’s favourite little sassy murder muffin, I’ve loved him since I was fourteen and read Red Dragon for the first time, my favourite depictions are the wonderfully intense portrayal by William Petersen in Manhunter (1986) and of course the fantastic Hugh Dancy in the blood soaked aesthetic murder opera that is Hannibal (2013-2015), a show that feels like a fever dream, that it shouldn’t exist but I am eternally grateful that it does 🥳🥳🥳
3. Monsieur Hercule Poirot (with his husband Arthur Hastings and their best friends James Japp and Felicity Lemon)
I can’t even begin to explain how much I love Poirot and friends, Agatha Christie created an amazing character in the little fussy Belgian detective, there have been many great adaptations of his stories, it’s impossible not to love Peter Ustinov, John Moffat in the BBC radio dramas but the ITV series that ran from 1989-2013 is pure comfort tv at it’s finest ☺️☺️☺️
4. Carrie White
I would take Carrie to the prom every time, I first saw this film when I was seven and I fell in love so hard, Carrie (1976) was the beginning of my love of horror, it is quite 70s but I love the aesthetic, the music and the performances, has anyone ever portrayed vulnerability like Sissy Spacek, someone who goes from timid to terrifying over the course of an evening maybe but not like Sissy in Carrie 🥺🐷🔥
5. Tom Servo (I love Cambot, Gypsy and Crow too)
I love MST3K so much that it’s practically become a vocabulary for me I quote it so much and they’ve created a love for entertainingly bad movies. I love all the bots but Tom Servo is my favourite, I love his wit, his wonderful voice and how pretentious he is and he’s so goddamn cute 🤖🤖🤖
Tagging: Anyone who would like to do it (it's really hard to only pick five 😳😳😳) 💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️
#tagging game#comfort characters#lovebillyhargrove#so hard to only pick five#honourable mentions#harold and maude#eddie kaspbrak#robocop#clarice starling#orignal series star trek#mulder and scully#everyone from clue (1985)#the golden girls#atticus finch#I could go on forever#so i'll stop here

Going to reply to this right now or i will forget!
So also not sure if i’ll have 8? My viewing habits are all over the place so i’m just going to go with things that either made big impressions on me or were particularly formative
Murder She Wrote— i went through and rewatched the entirety of the series (minus movies bc they weren’t on netflix) about 10 years ago. I have a soft spot for the Agatha Christie style whodunnit, and grew up watching this and Diagnosis Murder, Poirot, Miss Marple, etc. I particularly love Jessica Fletcher because she just went around helping her friends out and absolutely ignoring all romantic advances. The fact that they let her character exist as a single widow and never have a romantic interest (other than the pilot) is kinda astounding, and not something afforded most female characters
Highlander— i would stay up late and watch the Highlander tv series with my mom when i was a little kid because we both thought Adrian Paul was hot (i think this explains a lot)
Farscape— watched a lot of scifi growing up but Farscape is special for me (also probably not a surprise lol). I loved that they went so far outside human for character designs, and is probably my mental archetype of found family. I have not watched it since it originally aired, because i kinda want to let it exist as my memories and not sully it if i don’t like it as much now
X-Files— huge impression on me as a kid, and was devoted until the last few seasons. Was one of my favorite shows as a kid, which then leads to…
DISHONORABLE MENTION: Californication— this is on the list because i hate this show and ended up hate watching the entire series. This show ruined David Duchovny for me. Part of what frustrated me was that i got invested in the characters, there are some actors i really like in the series, but the central premise is just toxic. The fact that is basically his self insert ‘if i stuck with writing instead of acting’ masturbation project makes the whole thing worse.
Pretty Wild— soooooo i watch a lot of reality tv with my friends, so am actually pretty well versed in some series. One of my favorite of all time though is Pretty Wild, because it is this whole meta clusterfuck. It’s short (like 6 episodes) but wild. Basically, it follows some aspiring actress sisters with a former Playmate mom/manager in basically a rip of Kardashians. But, one of the sisters was part of the Bling Ring, and was arrested as they started filming. So what was going to be a ‘watch these sisters try and make it in hollywood’ became ‘oh and one of them is on trial for robbing Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton’. Fucking wild (they leave it out the bling ring movie bc it makes a wild story even wilder— there is a doc about it that just aired though)
Red Dwarf— my family was really into british comedies/the whole PBS thing and Red Dwarf was/is one of my favorites
COMPELLED TO ADD: Are You Being Served?— reading this list makes me realize how much late night PBS is seared in my brain, and with that in mind, i have to include this. I have probably seen every color episode (and some of the early black and white). The fucking theme song plays in my head every time i go in an elevator. And I am not a huge fan. Love some of the episodes/moments, but more a constant background layer in the house
…yeah that’s a weird list lol. I have no idea who to tag, so if you see this go for it!
eight shows to get to know me. allegedly.
was tagged by @krippe90 but most I can offer are like, less than eight shows lol
Sex and the City - yes, it did not maybe age well, if you wanna go into that, but it was crucial to my teenagehood upbringing. I still think, even if it was commenting mostly on richer women with the writing being overdramatic, it did touch upon some real topics that I still chuckle about to this day lol. Samantha's "Oh - coulda, woulda, shoulda!" is still a great comforting quote to me. (NOT a fan how they changed the writing of the original ending though :Y) First experience watching fictional women just panicking and being as snarky and sexual as they may in media and ehh, still digging it in the depth of my heart. I still think the writing is fun, and it's a time capsule I really like.
Hen Zemi/Hentai Seminar - a lesser known anime I do a rewatch about yearly. It does use quite a bit of shock value, but it has a sense of humour about it that I really like, and swiftly gives those "pervert rejects" empathy. The original manga was never translated to English in full (which I wish it was!), and I kinda dig it's still not very well known.
Fleabag - I have watched it once, but it's still so very well executed from my memory. Especially the end. SPOILERS: Just letting someone go with their own fears, because you can't keep the person as is, and knowing that you letting them go - because it's the right thing to do, even if it hurts - leaves a sad smirk on your face. And a bit of crying on your part. That's growth. God, does that happen. People just sometimes agree to leave. I like that it ended where it ended.
Prince of Coffee - I Am Not Immune to K-Dramas (sometimes). This one is genderfucky, but most of all, very comfy, and warm. I don't think it overstays it's welcome - it had its' moments when it dragged a bit, but the whole cast really just looked like they had a ton of fun. It's a mushy romance I'd be glad to revisit.
Other ones I'm still watching, or didn't finish :P Honorable mentions to: True Blood, and Hart of Dixie. If anime: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, maybe either Ginga or Wolf's Rain, Spy x Family (but that is still ongoing) most I can offer for today! not tagging anyone i'm tired. maybe @h0 or @aholefilledwithtwigs?

I was tagged by Sev (@slightlyintimidating). Thanks friend.
rules: tag 9 people you would like to know/catch up with
last song I listened to: Actual song... Hmm... Gimme a sec, let me check my media player playlist... I Need a Hero sung by Jennifer Saunders in the movie Shrek (some number I’m not aware of - 2, possibly?) It’s Sev’s fault I even bought that track, anyways!
last film I watched: Ho-hum.
show I'm currently watching: Does Agatha Christie’s Marple: Murder is Easy count as a TV movie, or is it merely a TV episode? If it’s merely a TV episode, I guess it’s The Muppet Christmas Carol, which I watched on Xmas Day, aptly enough.
book I'm currently reading: Which one? I currently have 3 on the go! I am presently working my way through the Phryne Fisher Murder Mysteries by Kerry Greenwood, and I’ve reached Blood and Circuses, which is book 6. I’m also reading The Invention of Nature: Alexander von Humboldt's New World by Andrea Wulf, which is a nonfiction book about ‘the visionary German naturalist whose ideas changed the way we see the natural world - and in the process created modern environmentalism’. And then there’s the audiobook of Jack Harvey (aka Ian Ranking) Witch Hunt, which I started in October and probably need to re-start from the beginning since it’s 3 months since I last listened to any of it. I confess I’m only listening to it at all because it’s read by Nicola Walker!
Tagging: @corvidden, @doctorjameswatson, @rauzadian, @lapalfruity, @fortytworedvines, @beezarre, @ariverandasong, @wonkots42, @tebarambles

Get to know me tag ✨
Tagged by @sxfterhearts. Thank you, kitten! 💜
• favourite colour.
I love black (yeah, I know, it’s not a color but still love it), grey/silver and every shade of red, purple and pink.
• last song i listened to.
Gone Away by Five Finger Death Punch (I listen to this band a lot lately).
• favourite musician(s):
If I have to choose only one group, I’ll say Black Stone Cherry because these men own my heart since 2006. But, if I have to list all the bands/artists I like, I can add: GOT7, Stray Kids, VIXX, ATEEZ, SEVENTEEN, BTS and NCT for Korean bands and Five Finger Death Punch, Falling in Reverse, Korn, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Deftones for American/English bands. I surely forget a lot but they are the ones that came firt in my mind.
• last film i watched:
I don’t remember, probably Hitman & Bodyguard.
• last show i watched:
It’s Okay not to be Okay (and I can’t believe it’s over T-T)

From cartoons/animes: PIKACHUUUUUUUU!! Snoopy, Alucard (Hellsing), Gajeel and Happy (Fairy Tail), Shiro (King of Ants), Kayo (Magical Girl Holy Shit), Worick Arcangelo (GANGSTA.), Uta (Tokyo Ghoul), etc...

Favourite colours: Black, burgandy, silver tones of grey, dark green, and midnight blue
Last song I listened to: Mademoiselle Hyde by Lara Fabian
Favorite musicians: I have a LOT, but of what I’ve been listening to most lately, I’ll say Nightwish, Epica, Amon Amarth, Battle Beast, Kamelot, Slayer, Voiceplay, Citizen Queen, Lara Fabian, Ramin Karimloo, Aurelio Voltaire, In This Moment, and just listening to loads of Hamilton
Last film I watched: I don’t remember, I think it might’ve been Back To the Future Part III - I swear I’ve watched something since then, but I don’t remember
Last TV Show I watched: Original CSI
Favourite original character: Hahaha. Depends on my mood. Sherlock Holmes (and characters based on him, which is a lot more than you’d think), Dracula - the non-cheesy interpretations, Erik/The Phantom of the Opera are my top three demented victorian fellows who I will always love. I’ll also toss in Irene Adler, Agatha Van Helsing, Captain Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth Swann, Batman/Bruce Wayne - when he’s done properly anyway, same caveat for Catwoman, and Harley Quinn, Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Doctor Strange, Loki, Spike/William the Bloody, Drusilla, Buffy herself - at times, Faith - okay, this is going to get out of control, you get it.
Sweet, spicy, or savory: Spicy and/or sweet, again depending on my mood
Sparkling water, tea, or coffee: COFFEE
Pets: I currently only have a little semi-aquatic turtle my kids decided to name Bob-John, but I miss having a cat
I’ll tagggg: @festering-queen @allis143 @leah-halliwell92 @alma37 @hoefordarkness @theangelmaker

Thank you for the tag @brasandsocks 💖💖
Relationship status: Single
Favorite colors: Black and Red
Lipstick or chapstick: I had to search what ‘chapstick’ means because I have never heard the word but after finding out - chapstick. Especially our good old Czech Jelení lůj.
Three favorite foods: I will take food as a meal so... Rajská (Tomato sauce with beef and dumplings), Lasagne (though pizza is very closed second) and Chicken Teriyaki Noodles.
Song stuck in my head: Since I am in the state of mourning, Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone.
Last song I listened to: Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone and it’s going to be the last song I listened to for at least a week.
Last film I watched: Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Three favorite TV shows: Frasier, Stargate SG-1 and Game of Thrones
Current book(s): 50 short Hercule Poirot stories by Agatha Christie, Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin, The Sicilian Romance by Ann Radcliffe and The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud.
Current time: 13:50
Number of blankets I sleep with: Lately zero, but usally one.
Dream trip: At this moment literally anywhere, especially Greece since I had to cancel my vacation in August due to the coronavirus. And London which is a plan for next year.
Anything I want: To stop procrastinating, crying and keep mourning in peace and write my Reylo fic. Also finish playing The Witcher 3 by the end of the week so I could start a new gameplay of Greedfall and Jedi: Fallen Order (Calquisitor is waiting for me). Considering the release of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands and Mafia: The Definitive Edition in August, I don’t have quite much time to finish those two games before starting these. (So honestly, thank goodness that Cyberpunk 2077 was pushed back until November).
Sorry for not tagging anyone but I didn’t expect to wake up in the morning and find out that my favourite movie composer has died and I really have a hard time dealing with that at the moment.

I was tagged by @justanotherboredadult. I hate you for doing this to me. (Not seriously, I love tag games. It’s just that this one is going to be really hard.)
Rules: Name ten favorite characters from ten different things (books, tv, film, etc.) then tag ten people.
I can’t possibly choose my top ten favorites, so I’ll just name ten in whatever order I like and call it good.
1. Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes, et al)
The legendary detective himself! Ah, if ever there comes a day where I claim to no longer like him, you can take me to a hospital because I’m clearly gravely ill. The original stories are my preference, but there are lots of wonderful adaptations out there as well! The picture above is of Jeremy Brett, whose portrayal of Holmes is widely considered to be one of, if not the best of all time; a moniker which I imagine he would be at least a little bit pleased to have earned.
2. Data (Star Trek: The Next Generation)
God, I adore Data. His struggles with understanding how others express themselves emotionally, attempts to understand his own feelings, and his inability to connect to the world around him in the same way everyone else did, and the resulting difficulties... as an autistic person, Data’s a character who’s been really important to me for a really long time. He was one of the first characters I was able to really understand and connect with, because I so often had those struggles myself! It’s been years since I first saw him, but it doesn’t matter. Data will always hold a special place in my heart.
Also, uh...
I mean... just look...
3. Root (Person of Interest)
Let me tell you, it was almost impossible to choose just one POI character! I love all of the main team so much, but I think in the end Root is the one who’s got the top spot. Sure, she might start out on the wrong side, but I think that’s one of the reasons she’s so compelling. Her switch from antagonist to protagonist is really fun to watch and honestly, in general, she is just fun to watch. And look at that smile...
4. Lemy Abelard (Evillious Chronicles)
Yes, yes, it’s time to get my weeb on. Anyway. This is my clown son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Et cetera. The best clown in the world, in my humble opinion. There’s not much competition to be had :) He’s just a good boy who loves his mother very much... the Pierrot novel’s finally started to get translated and I’m even more ready to die for him than I was before. He’s a precious child. I adore him.
5. Asuka Langley Soryu (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Asuka, Asuka, Asuka. What am I supposed to do with you except love and cherish you, huh? I know some people think she’s a bitch, and I guess she kind of is one, but do I give a damn? No. No, I do not. Her drive to succeed and prove herself is very compelling, and her backstory hurts like hell, and honestly I just want to give her a hug and tell her that she is the best EVA pilot in the world and no one can take that away from her.
Also, after what Shinji did to her in that goddamn kitchen scene, I just... Man, I’ve been there. How could I begrudge her anything after that?
6. Akemi Homura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
You want to try and tell me this girl isn’t amazing? Go ahead, I dare you. She’s incredible. The amount she’s gone through would make anybody crack, but she held herself together so long, and I think that’s really amazing and admirable. Oh, Homura... I hope you get your happy ending.
Also, uh, she’s just cool. Have you seen the stuff she’s capable of? It’s awesome. And look at that hair!
7. L Lawliet (Death Note)
I’m autistic so shut the fuck up--okay, in all seriousness, this frog detective is pretty fucking great. I’m such a sucker for the genius detective archetype, particularly the ‘odd’ ones; it’s been that way for a very, very long time, and I doubt it’s going to stop any time soon.
He’s not that great a person, but I love him anyway. Honestly, I think that’s what makes him interesting! In a series like Death Note, there’s not a lot of room for ‘good’ and ‘evil’ designations, and he falls comfortably into the gray. And he’s just fun to watch!
8. Edogawa Ranpo (Bungou Stray Dogs)
I’ve already told you I’m a sucker for his archetype, but really... Ranpo is so much like a kid, but he’s so smart! He doesn’t even have a special ability, but he’s the core of the Armed Detective Agency; he doesn’t need an ability, he’s a natural genius! He’s fun and kinda relatable and I love seeing him in action. You just can’t change my mind on this one!
Also, he’s autistic too. Fight me.
9. Flandre Scarlet (Touhou Project)
I’m not ashamed to admit it--I love Flandre! She’s actually what got me into Touhou in the first place. Just look at her wings--shiny and colorful crystals--and I love shinies so is it really that hard to see why I’d like her? Plus, her theme song is fun, and she’s got a bunch of Agatha Christie references packed into one tiny little vampire, and I love Agatha Christie so... Flandre just came for my soul.
10. Kurapika (Hunter x Hunter)
It was a hard choice between him and Killua, but in the end, Kurapika won out. What can I say? Well, honestly, nothing, since I don’t fully understand it myself. I guess he’s just an interesting character.
Also, can you say ‘trans icon’? Because I can. Kurapika = trans icon. Thanks for your time.
Let’s see, I have to tag people now, don’t I... Very well.
@shadows-in-the-light-of-day @eveillious @eyeciclez @chatoyqnt @nakaharahs @krpk @adhdleorio @chuuya-nyakahara @ryuuwunosuke @omoidori if you guys don’t mind, of course ^-^ feel free to ignore this, all i request is that you not eat me for tagging you :0
