@scredgirl replied to your post “@scredgirl replied to your post “*whispers* i have The Urge to attempt...”
i'm Very Bad at prompts but. hmmmm what about Phil calling for a Lodge meeting but only one person shows up because she was an asshole last meeting and they don't want to see her. Either Triss or Sile your pick
I went for Triss/Phil. It’s not very long but I hope you like it!!
Philippa was pacing.
The megascope was active, both of them had checked it several times to be quite sure everything was functioning correctly (it was), but they were the only ones present at The Lodge meeting, either physically or magically.
Triss was sitting idly doodling on a piece of spare parchment that was sitting in front of her. Philippa’s notes were arranged in a stack beside her and she had stolen a blank sheet from the top to occupy herself with while they waited.
One minute had stretched to five, had stretched to ten, had stretched to twenty. At around seven, Phil had pushed herself out of her chair and begun pacing in terse circles, fists clenched and jaw set.
The other members of The Lodge were late. Very late, by this point. Philippa disapproved of lateness. Unless of course, she was the one who was late. The extreme tardiness of their fellow sorceresses, without any excuse or apology, was evidently grating on her lover’s sensitive nerves. No-one had ever accused Philippa of being the most patient woman in the world.
After a further five minutes of irritable pacing, by which time her fingertips had begun smoking slightly in response to the fire that was no doubt curling beneath her closed fist, Triss set down her pen and swivelled in her chair to face her partner.
“What has that carpet ever done to you?” she asked conversationally, propping her chin on a elbow which she rested on the back of her plush, ornate chair.
“What?” Philippa demanded, halting for the first time since she had begun to face Triss, a distinct snap in her voice.
Triss raised her eyebrows until Phil’s expression softened slightly. Then she said, “You’re going to wear a hole through it if you keep that up, and it doesn’t deserve that.”
Philippa frowned, an expression that was entirely endearing, as far as Triss was concerned, though it was typically a herald of an imminent and unpleasant death for everyone else.
“I’ll repair it,” she ground out, finally.
Triss laughed and stretched towards her, taking her hand and pulling her closer. “That’s not what I meant,” she murmured quietly, a small smile on her lips. Philippa resisted her attempts to draw her down for a gentle, soothing kiss, however, too tense and on edge.
“I know,” Philippa replied irritably, straightening again, though she did not pull her hand from Triss’s. “They’re late,” she said, spitting out the word as though she’d swallowed it with a mouthful of grit. Her foot began tapping on the floor, apparently to compensate for her lack of pacing.
“Well,” Triss said, concealing her small smile with difficulty, “That depends.”
The irritated crease between Philippa’s brows deepened. “The meeting was due to start over twenty minutes ago, Triss. They aren’t here. What do you call that, if not late?”
“I think they can only be late if they actually intended on coming,” Triss explained mildly.
Philippa blinked.
Triss sighed and rubbed her temple, “You were a little....Intense,” she said delicately, after a pregnant pause in which she searched for the right word, “During our last meeting.”
Philippa frowned again, but this time the expression was one of confusion, rather than frustration. She genuinely didn’t seem to see what the problem was.
“There was some shouting,” Triss continued in a measured voice, “A lot of cursing. Some threats, some very inventive ones at that,” she added, not suppressing her grin this time. “And a few fireballs.”
Philippa considered that. “They were only small,” she said, but with a grudging tone that acknowledged Triss might have a point. “And they didn’t hit anything vital.”
“I was fond of that vase,” Triss said, grinning again.
Philippa snorted. “I imagine Sabrina was more fond of her head.”
“I imagine Rita preferred the vase.”
That, at last, drew a small smile out of Philippa, and at last she seemed to concede defeat. Flopping down resignedly into the chair beside Triss she squinted over at her, expression caught between anger and dejection. “So, no-one is coming,” she huffed.
“I came,” Triss said, hopefully.
Philippa scowled at her. “You came here with me,” she grumbled.
“I still came,” she said, pulling her chair closer and tipping Philippa’s head up by sliding a finger under her chin and coaxing gently.
“I suppose you did at that,” Phil conceded.
Her voice softened in tone, becoming the voice that only Triss ever heard from her when they were alone together. Philippa moved in closer, tugging her up out of her chair, to which Triss complied gladly. Philippa’s lips met hers, gentle but somehow hot and insistent all at once. She flipped them deftly, pressing Triss back against the carved wooden table The Lodge typically met around.
“I suppose I should thank you for your dedication, Miss Merigold,” she purred softly. Smiling, Triss draped her arms around Philippa’s neck and leaned backwards, submitting gladly to this request.

Various fic games
I was tagged by @moonprincess92nz to play the two games below and I stole the one above from her too :)
✏️ FANFICTION WRITER BINGO
I got three bingos! I didn’t cross “keeps an outline for writing” but I do that depending on the fic’s complexity/length.
✏️ MAKE YOUR CHOICE: FIC EDITION
slowburn or love at first sight // fake dating or secret dating // enemies to friends to lovers or best friends to lovers // oh no there’s only one bed or long-distance correspondence // hurt/comfort or amnesia // fantasy au or modern au// mutual pining or domestic bliss // smut or fluff // canon-compliant or fix-it // reincarnation or character death // one-shot or multi chapter // kid fic or road trip fic // arranged marriage or accidental marriage // high school romance or middle aged romance // time travel or isolated together // neighbors or roommates // sci-fi au or magic au // body swap or genderbend // angst or crack // apocalyptic or mundane
There are some of those that are neither and you will not. make. me. pick. one.
✏️ THROWBACK FIC
Rules: The older, the better. Tag as many people as the last digit of the year of your favorite throwback fic. (So if you post a piece from 2005, tag 5 people. Or however many ya want. Let’s just have fun.)
This one has super unclear instructions so I’m going to copy off Jordan and talk about my journey in fandom??
I discovered fanfiction and fandom right around the time as Deathly Hallows was released. I don’t remember when I actually posted my first fic because I posted it first in the Veritaserum forums (RIP), but the first one on FFN was posted in 2008 and a depressing alternative ending for DH. I mean I don’t love it and I wouldn’t tell anyone to read it, but it was creative and props to me for daring to write in a second language tbh! :P
You know what, you just made me read one of my old fics and hate myself lol, so I’m just going to say that one of my favourite vintage fics purely for sentimental reasons is a collection of missing moments set in DH.
Tagging some writers! (to do whichever of these you want or none) @graciecatfamilyband @lajulie24 @corellianangel @elliesfandoms @sonicenvy @queen-space-mom @yoyomarules @onwardintolight

The last line I wrote was actually poetry and I think the contextless phrase "breaking teeth" isn't very exciting, so I shall instead grace you with the last line I wrote for undertale before ditching the fandom:
"“Cross.” Cross. Not Project X, or Experiment, or X, just Cross. His name, free of the terror any other name pulled out of him."
It was for Destined 👍 I will likely never finish this chapter so if anyone wants to read the draft hmu
Anyways no tags cause I'm lazy (aside from @sketchy-aura and @eridanussupernerd in hopes one of you has gay sentences for me
RULES: Post the last sentence you wrote (fanfic / original / anything) and tag as many people as there are words in the sentence.
Thank you for the tag @pendulum-sonata!
The inky blackness of the artificial sky slowly gives way to the shades of dawn, and the sun greets the denizens of the Luofu as it begins its westward journey.
...oh shit that's a lot of tags. Uh. 30 people...
@team-frightfur, @phantomknights, @moonbisexualsharktamerr, @tiredgremlintime, @cyber-cup1d, @enter-the-performapals, @yogoodfella, @nettleshuttle, @predaplants, @entermages, @eclipse-needs-sleep, @angel-of-sweet-revenge, @gyppygirl2021, @thundermarisol, @howaboutalittlehelpneos, @performapals , @moonlight-scintilla, @fluffalpenguin, @capriciousbuzzsawshark, @aceofyugioh, @aero-erin, @vanilla-poisons, @saltiestcoconut, @pigeonsage, @overobsessedfanboy23, @bphantom01, @asena-queenslayer, @tineetinylily, @solemntitty, @alchemiclee
Apologies for any annoyance of course (I thought long and hard about every tag here but I can't be sure if everyone's on board with getting tagged out of nowhere), and for anyone who sees is even if not tagged, feel free to take part as well!

More F/F book recs
It’s been like a year (two years??) since my last list and unfortunately, I haven’t read as much as I’ve wanted to since then. And nobody asked but here are more books that I’ve been obsessed with!!! Once again with ao3 style tags because I’m incoherent and annoying. Under the cut:
My main man Reye, who publishes as Zoe Reed:
LISTEN. All of Reye’s books are incredible. I’m sure you’ve seen me losing my mcfuckin mind over his books in the past two weeks or so, because they were all so good I could not put them down. His characters are never dull and the dialogue and chemistry for each pairing is so unique and so spicy. Here are my faves, with happy endings all around.
Charon Docks At Daylight (23189041/5 stars)
You can read it for free here.
(tags: sorry for overhyping it but this book is quite possibly the best book i’ve EVER read, zombie apocalypse, but so character driven, echo and gen have pre-outbreak history, aka they had crushes on each other in high school, IT’S ENEMIES TO LOVERS, YOU KNOW YOU’RE WEAK FOR THAT SHIT, hate-fucking with E•MO•TION™, slow burn falling in love, landfill - daughter.mp3, dealing with morality and grey areas, i’ve read this book like three times now)
Breaking Legacies (5/5 stars)
(tags: medieval fantasy, ava is a woc, raw aching PINING™, so fucking emotionally rich i could cry thinking about it, the princess and her protector, dragons my dudes DRAGONS, there’s one part in the book where i just laid down in bed and cried lmao, hits all my favourite hurt/comfort tropes i could die so happy, but also tw there’s some gut-wrenching sad animal deaths in here)
Interference (4/5 stars)
(tags: rival roller hockey players falling in love, both of them deal with tragedy and issues and they grow together it’s beautiful, jordan deals with A LOT of homophobia from her family, tw: past sexual assault, taylor doesn’t like to speak and she is so Good and i love her a lot, it’s only 4 stars because it got a tad bit draggy near the end but i still enjoyed it a lot)
Emily Skrutskie:
The Abyss Surrounds Us (5/5 stars)
(tags: sci-fi fantasy pirate lesbians, protagonist is a woc named cassandra leung!!!, E Q U A L F O O T I N G, world-building made me a little hesitant, but when it got to the action boy did it deliver, trained sea monsters, slightly less trained sea monsters, she fucking named the sea monster BAO, the meat bun, im living for this representation, where can i get me a girl like swift kent?, you guessed it there’s raw aching pining please inject it right into my veins)
The Edge of the Abyss (4/5 stars) [Sequel to TASU]
(tags: we were blessed with a sequel, less focused on swift and cas’ relationship but it came with a little more angst and a little more pining, lovers to enemies to lovers?, is that a thing? it’s a thing now, they love each other so messily, unfortunately the ending was so abrupt and uninspiring that i was left a little disappointed, but still it ended well, where’s my swift kent thanks)
Lise MacTague: Depths of Blue (4/5 stars)
(tags: sci-fi fantasy, a smuggler lands on an outer-rim planet filled only with misogynistic gross dudes, she’s super gay but she’s like why am i falling for this mysterious male soldier who’s rescuing me?, SIKE mysterious soldier is secretly a woman!!!, action-filled and a lil violent, kept me at the edge of my gd seat till i finished it, i literally read the synopsis and whispered ‘mmm yes’ then i bought the book lmao, it’s one book in a series of three but i haven’t read the other two yet)
Tiana Warner: Ice Massacre (5/5 stars)
(tags: a group of girls are sent to kill some murderous mermaids who have been terrorizing their island for generations, but rip meela is in love with one of the mermaids, and she’s known her since childhood, cue that gucci trying to protect each other mid-battle angst, so yeah, gay mermaids my dudes, it’s beautiful and violent and a little bit hunger-gamesy, book 1 in a three part series but i’m a serial procrastinator so i haven’t read the other two)
Linda Kay Silva: Man Eaters (4/5 stars)
(tags: listen im a slut for lesbians in a zombie apocalypse okay, this book is funny and witty with dark humour, but instead of my tags let this review convince you to read it:
the second book involves them trying to build a zombie-immune gay army to kill the man eaters and take back the country it’s honestly incredible)
K.E. Lane: And Playing The Role Of Herself (4/5 stars)
(tags: two actresses fall in love, but they take the longest possible route to finding each other, it’s a little bit dramatic and a little bit angsty, they both have to be careful because of their ~public images, there’s a violent scene (no sexual assault i promise) during the novel and it gave me my fave trope of person a caring for an injured person b)
Dayna Ingram: Eat Your Heart Out (5/5 stars)
(tags: yeah i’m sorry it’s another lesbian zombie apocalypse novel mostly because i have no self control, this one is short and gritty and full of dark humor, before charon docks at daylight it was probably my fave lesbian zom-apoc novel, imagine michelle rodriguez decending from the heavens to help you survive through the apocalypse, that’s the plot, it’s gucci)
On The List:
Audrey Coulthurst: Of Fire and Stars (fantasy lesbians)
Catherine M. Wilson: The Warrior’s Path (warrior lesbians)
G. Benson: Who’d Have Thought (doctor lesbians)
Melissa Brayden: Seven Shores series (melissa brayden lesbians)
C.B. Lee: Not Your Sidekick (superhero bis)
May Dawney: Survival Instincts (post-apocalyptic lesbians)
thanks for reading!!

Abandonware DOS in 2019: what's changed and what's new
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who donated a few bucks to help me keep working on Abandonware DOS. THANK YOU, THANK YOU and again THANK YOU! In 2019 I changed the way that I usually add content on Abandonware DOS. This means that it takes me less time to add games, take screenshots, add articles, etc.As for everything else... here's a quick list of some work what I've done this year on Abandonware DOS:Finally finished writing the descriptions of (almost) every keyword.Revamped the statistics page.Added a "Featured document" box in the homepage.Added the "also published for" field with info about other platforms.Tweaked and cleaned the web design across all pages.Decided to drop a lot of "additional details" taken from Wikipedia to lower the quantity of non-original text on Abandonware DOS (that should improve SEO).Added a lot of "retro reviews": short excerpts of reviews published on old magazines decades ago or taken from defunct video gaming sites.Company details pages were in fact two for each company: one for developed games and one for published games. Now there's only a single page for each company, listing both developed and published games.Merged both the list of developers and publishers into a single companies list.Remade the game designers section: new info, more games.Re-created every single miniature image making them slightly bigger.Redone the "play online" pages. I replaced the existing javascript code with the latest version of the Emularity libraries for better performance and compatibility.Dropped the whole subgenre system in favor of tags and keywords.Reached the "1900 games online" milestone!Added splash screens for a lot of gamesI also started to update info and downloads for the very first games I uploaded on Abandonware DOS a long time ago. That's all!Unfortunately a death in my family took away a lot of my free time, so I was unable to work more on Abandonware DOS.I hope you like the state of Abandonware DOS today. I planned quite a few features for 2020... but the main focus will be: more content, more games. #abandonware http://dlvr.it/RMDzjZ
