Thou shalt not die - Part 1
Tumblr media
For some context on this post I did in fact watch the episode that had Akiko's backstory, So basically Akiko was sent to help soldiers during the great war, she was tasked by Mori to heal the military soldiers on Tokoyami Island where the war held in.
For her special ability - Thou shalt not die - It's a special power where Akiko holds a rare ability to heal wounds that is serve to death or if the person is partially half-dead or full dead. She is unable to heal minor wounds since she needs to severely injure the person to actually heal them fully. She can also heal herself if she has badly wounded injuries on her body. For her ability to heal people, butterflies will appear from her body and she will have to touch on one's serve injuries to recover them instantly.
Tumblr media
Pairings -> Optimus Prime (Human) x Female Reader
Warnings -> backstory trauma, murder mentioned, injuries, near death situations, May be OOC (out of character)
Note -> Reader is positioned to be the same as Akiko Yosano from bungou stray dogs but I may not get it accurate since I haven’t watched the anime so I’ll try my best also I might have to do this in parts
A/n -> NOT PROOF-READ (I just couldn't be bothered after a hard day at TAFE T-T)
Genre -> obviously angst but there might be some fluff
Tumblr media
You saved many lives in the great war between the Autobots and the decepticons, you were the type to heal the badly wounded soldiers who fought for their rights.
It was a very cruel world, the never ending war continuing and you got sick of it, sick of saving lives that continued to get out there to die over and over again. You didn't like how many of them like to take the advantage of you just because you can heal them, you became exhausted on your behalf, you tended to treat the badly wounded ones to get them back up on their feet again.
You remember the time of how little you were, you were just a kid, a kid that just wanted a normal life and not to be dragged by a chief that found you just for your ability.
You were quite gifted with your power, seeming that you can treat your wounds yourself, but you didn't like how you have to brutally murder the people who had injuries that can not be treated by your ability.
You ability was just for people who were just on the edge of death, you were a doctor who can save lives, save the life's of your special ones. Now you were hiding away in a base, trying to not get spotted by the decepticons who can easily murder you if they could, but that won't be the case, You can never die by treating yourself anyways.
It's been days to weeks to months to years of hiding away, but you have been having a good time around the ones you call friends. To the day of meeting some random kids on a random day wasn't on your to do list, the autobots got very attached to theses kids which was a sight to see.
You on the other hand didn't care for that kind of stuff as you thought of many times on how to get to stop the war, it felt like it was on your hands that you caused the war to continue. You just couldn't shake off the fact of the solider who was kind enough to hand you a hair ornaments that was shaped as a butterfly. You could never forgive yourself even though you were manipulated by the man who you trusted and that you consisted a 'friend'.
"Name, I need you" A voice called out to you, you turned around to only see Ratchet where he was standing near his desk, trying to take the sample of something that looked like a medicine of some sort
"Coming" You spoke, walking over to where Ratchet was, while the others were doing their owns things somewhere else, the kids were on the couch doing their own thing
Miko and Jack competing each other at video games while Raf was busy with his computer typing some stuff on his computer, maybe got to do with school
A beep came through the monitor, detecting some Cons and some suspicion action happening
"Optimus, you might want to see this" You spoke up while Ratchet was closely looking to see anything else, then Optimus appeared behind you as he looked at the same thing
He couldn't figure anything out on what was happening but he insisted that you would come with him to see what was happening, you nodded as you stood up from your seat
Optimus also called for Bee just in case if anything was too happening suddenly, bee gave Optimus a nod as well as Ratchet activated the ground bridge for you three to go through
As soon as you guys went through the ground bridge, you all heard a commotion as soon as you went through
You guys went in battle mode as there were cons fighting but they weren't fighting you three which was confusing until one of them started to shoot at you three which caused you to get a light injury on your side which caused you to yelp a little
Optimus helped you hide behind a corner wall with him as bee was on the left side of you guys, "Name, are you able to fight?" Optimus asked
"Heh, What kind of question is that Boss? Of course I can, Just because I'm a doctor doesn't mean I can't fight for myself and besides It just a small cut through" You spoke as you gave him a grin
It was time for battle, Optimus came from behind the wall as he start to shoot the cons that he could see as well as Bee while you fought anyone left standing
It took sometime to finally get everyone but...
You could hear some clapping, turning your head to the side as you heard a voice come through as they came from the corner
"Bravo, well done. You managed to get rid of those guys in no time!" The guy grinned which gave you the chills as your eyes widened, you felt like you couldn't swallow as you felt the need to punch this guy in the face
It was him..
Why was he here of all places..
Why?
"It has seemed that you moved on quite well.." He paused then looked at you with his red eyes "Right Name?" they way he said you name was disgusting as if you wanted to throw up
Optimus and Bee just looked confused as they both looked back at you but only they could see the fear and terror in your widen eyes as if you knew this guy
"Who are you and what do you want and How do you know Name?" Optimus spoke as he kept glaring at the strange guy
"Oh that's quite simple she use to work for me and boy she was a handful I must say"
You couldn't even look him in the eyes as you lowered your head, your mind was racing with thoughts
'What was he doing here?, What's is his intentions to do to you after finding you for years?, Is he going to kill you, hurt you?'
"Why are you here?" You muttered out catching everyone's attention, the man stopped talking as he tilted his head smirking widely
"I'm sorry dear what was that? I didn't quite catch that-"
"WHY ARE YOU HERE DAMNIT?!" You yelled, you were furious but you felt fear as well, seeming that you couldn't do anything to get rid of this bastard
"Simple.. I'm here.." He paused as he now looked at you "For you" This made you take a deep breath as you were about to speak but Optimus Cut you off
"Name is not going with you and seeming that you know each other, name doesn't seem to like you"
"Optimus..." You spoke out, Optimus looked back at you.. he then saw the fury in your eyes as he got the momeo
"This is my fight and my fight alone, You guys go find out what was the strange reading that Ratchet saw"
"Name.. I do not require you-"
"I can handle, just go" You spoke loudly, seeming you wanted to end this here and now with your worst enemy that was standing before you

Australian Universities Navigate AI Revolution Amidst International Student Boom
Balancing Innovation and Academic Integrity in the Age of AI
The Australian higher education landscape is undergoing a dramatic shift, driven by the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and a surge in international students, particularly from Asia. This confluence of factors presents both challenges and opportunities for universities and TAFEs.
AI: Transforming the Learning Experience
AI tools like ChatGPT are rapidly changing how students learn, offering support in research, writing, and coding. While these tools can enhance productivity and learning, they also raise concerns about academic integrity and potential misuse. Universities are actively working to integrate AI ethically while upholding academic standards. This includes:
* Developing clear guidelines on AI use: Institutions are establishing policies to ensure fair and responsible AI use in coursework.
* Promoting digital literacy: Equipping students with the skills to critically evaluate and use AI tools effectively.
* Fostering critical thinking: Emphasizing the importance of human analysis and understanding, even with AI assistance.
The Rise of the Asian Student
Australia remains a highly attractive destination for international students, especially from Asia. This influx contributes significantly to the Australian economy and enriches campus diversity. Universities are adapting by:
* Offering tailored support services: Providing language support, cultural integration programs, and specialized academic advising.
* Developing specific programs: Creating courses and degrees that cater to the interests and career goals of Asian students.
TAFE's Evolving Role
TAFEs are crucial in providing students with practical skills for the workforce. In the age of AI, this includes:
* Incorporating AI training: Integrating AI-related skills and knowledge into various vocational programs.
* Preparing for an AI-powered workforce: Equipping graduates with the skills to thrive in industries transformed by AI.
Looking Ahead
Australian tertiary education is embracing the AI revolution while navigating the ethical considerations and ensuring academic rigor. By balancing innovation with integrity, Australian institutions can continue to attract international students and provide a world-class education that prepares graduates for the future.

i agree with this. as someone who at 16-18 in 2012 and 2013, selected to do entertainment industry as part of her hsc/end of high school exams bc she thought there'd be no maths or next to no maths in it...... but was then surprised that: shock! horror! she had to know how to budget for a music festival project!! all so that she could have a decent festival line-up AND audio equipment for the bands/musical artists to play..... in the actual exam, i had to calculate power loads of lighting setups in a multiple choice question (i just looked at this for this post for shits and giggles lol).... but i guessed this question. you DO need maths. and this was at TAFE. i.e. technical college. where a good load of the courses need- yep, you guessed it- M A T H S.... to some extent.
for someone who had a friend, who at that time was training to be a primary school teacher.... but that friend decided to drop maths bc "it's ruining my schedule and marks, and i won't need it to teach year 2 students!" you DO need maths. here's an article about how aussie student teachers are failing the necessary maths test to get into teaching (and i relate to this bc the woman they interviewed for the article gave up in year 9 maths). unfortunately, you DO need high school level maths to teach any level of schooling. be it from kindy to year 12.
as someone who was dumb enough to try to do CHEMISTRY in her hsc without maths in her schedule.... before the careers counsellor at the public school she moved to said "NO. that's a terrible idea. impossible, actually.".... so, instead she had to settle for biology (which she only passed by the tiny miracle of mark scaling in my final exam.... she HATED bio lol) at the school she moved to.... bc her year group either wasn't offered senior science or not enough people selected senior science for it to run.... or that that school had no funding at the time for a senior science class for my year (much like drama)..... YOU FUCKING NEED MATHS.
i got told at business college in 2014, by my trainer, that i had to fix up my maths skills.... bc all of the fake numbers i was using for estimated fake quotes for ad agency fees in some assignments.... and the marketing budget figures i was pulling out of my ass were "all wrong" and "you can't do that in a marketing firm in the real world." but i could do it there.... just so he could have a laugh at my godawful, totally out of proportion, guesstimation skills. mind you, I did that marketing course instead of doing the uni like prep course at my local uni's "uni college" bc that needed at least baseline year 10 maths or year 11/12 general maths- I can't remember now.
my hatred/loathing for maths came from the perceived perfection they wanted in book work. why bother trying, if i was ALWAYS made into the "so, kids. this is the WORK WE DON'T WANT in your books!!! do NOT be this person!!" example in front of the class, ranging from primary school til year 10 in 2011???? it just made me give up and toss it aside; and be like "y'all motherfuckers can go fuck yourselves. my book work does NOT have to be accurate or perfectly neat at ALL, if i'm not going to be an engineer or a mathematician. so fuck you" so, it was better for me to drop it in years 11 and 12 so I didn't have to put up with this bs in maths for 2 more years.... and also so i didnt have to deal with it in maths class at a new school, to boot.
unfortunately, however, any lower jobs or even office jobs, want me to be at least numerate. but i have no idea how to use a calculator to calculate percentages. i have no idea how to convert measurements or distances. word problems always fucked me up in school.... but it's 10 times worse at 28; when you do a bs aptitude test for a job and I have no fucking idea what the actual fuck the word questions are asking.... or how to do a ratio question such as:
Tumblr media
that i got in a job test JUST LAST WEEK..... even means. like what the fuck???? what the fuck is this??? why the fuck do I need to know this garbage just to do an admin traineeship??? fuck off. but unfortunately i have to know it..... but i have zilch idea of what the fuck it means, and what the answer is, or how to work it out. so i just blind guessed the answer as 1/2 or 1/3. or whatever the fuck the answers were.
an airforce job i looked at the other day (only bc it said NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED); said i needed a pass at least in year 10 english, science and maths. although i more than definitely had a pass in year 10 english (around a B a i think in my semester 2 report of 2011) and a pass- around a C grade- in year 10 science (although it asked specifically for the physics unit.... which i have FUCK ALL idea what i got in that portion of year 10 science)..... but what was my maths grade for year 10???? E grade- basically an aussie F for americans. it means/t elementary. if you're wondering. i always tried to get everyone to high 5 me for failing maths throughout high school.... including my year 7 and 9 naplan tests... that were, and still are, national literacy and numeracy tests. i was in the guinea pig rollout group for these tests, unfortunately. in both year 7 and 9 naplans, i got band 1 (the worst mark) across the board, in both of the maths papers: with a calculator and without a calculator... but my english marks were ALWAYS in the high band 7s and 8s- about average or slightly better than average.
but you get the point. my numeracy and other maths skills are fucking abysmal. all because i REFUSED to do anything in maths from about year 4 in 2005, onward.... but alas. however, it's cost me a huge detriment. i don't know how to use excel, AT ALL, because i'd make my dad do those "worthless" 5% assessments about excel formulas and spreadsheets..... bc "it fucks with my brain. therefore i dont have to do it. and also, i'll be a trophy wife and famous by 25.... so i'll ALWAYS have someone to do this bullshit maths for me, anyway. so why even fucking bother doing it, lmao???" (i'm just soooo ~funny and edgy~, arent i???) but i still lie through my teeth on my resume, to say that i have basic functional skills on excel..... but they're all around text formatting and word art and table formatting (lol)... basically all about making it look pretty (oh and mail merge picked up last year). but NO real maths skills. NO interesting skills around vlookup or more advanced excel usage skills.
even though i had a professor that liked me (or seemed to like me) in sociology at uni, who told me that i belonged in sociology bc of my personality..... i actively avoided it. bc it meant i had to relearn year 10 statistics for the "social research methods" subject that EVERYONE hated in the sociology major/minor. bc after all, we were arts students (lol not lol). i actively avoided psychology electives and avoided a business degree and majors/subjects for the same reason. in philosophy - YES EVEN PHILOSOPHY - i had to interpret graphs and tables bc some of the fields we did/i chose overlapped into the sciences (e.g. psychopathy in ethics (i think) or social cognition in philosophy of mind i think).... those were the subjects where i realised i had no idea how the fuck to read graphs anymore.... so i'd purposely skip over those pages.... even if they were the crux of the article i had for a reading.
stop trying to avoid maths forever. unfortunately, it's impossible. one day i'll have to apologise to my year 9 and 10 maths teacher from catholic school (who i actually graduated uni with back in 2018 bc she went back to do something else in sociology i think) and beg her to teach me from year 4 onwards..... or maybe year 3 onwards. bc i dont even understand basic fractions around adding and subtracting lol.
people will whine 24/7 about anti-intellectualism on tiktok but then turn around and say "i don't need to know math i'm never going to use this in real life"
