Your trip is slowly but surely coming to an end.
Minus some bumps along the way, it's safe to say you had a great time either way. You and Jungkook have managed to talk like proper adults and it went well. But most importantly, you've made up. It is sad there's goodbyes soon to be said. You kind of wish you could stay here for at least another day.
But all of you have to go back to adult life. The weight is lifted off your chest, practically non-exist as you and Jungkook share a soft smile while all of you pack your things. Well – except Taehyung who's sitting on one of the portable chairs with sunglasses on, too hungover to help his best friend who's been complaining for the past ten minutes.
"I take it you finally made up." Maya comes up to you, folding up a thin blanket when there's no one nearby.
"We finally talked." you answer.
She surely notices the relaxation behind your tone and features, causing her to smile knowingly instead of saying anything for a moment.
"And? How did it go?"
"Good. Great, actually. I explained myself well and we both had something to apologize for. It's not even about the apology. I think us talking is more important and even though I was pretty scared and unsure to just walk up to him and talk, I'm glad I got it off my chest."
"Being honest is not always easy but I knew you guys would work it out. From what I heard, your friendship has always been strong." Maya grins.
"How do you know that?"
"Namjoon," she chuckles simply. "But that doesn't matter. Even I can confidently say it's true. And I haven't known you for too long and I solely know this just from seeing you and him, plus hearing you talk about him."
You avert your gaze to the ground, your shy smile causing you to feel even more shy when you feel her eyes on you.
"I'm jealous though. The sex after such an argument is gonna be amazing."
And just like that, the air shifts and your gaze snaps toward blunt Maya who's already grinning, expecting your reaction of shock and disbelief.
"Yeah, that's not happening." You cringe, muttering.
"You don't want to? Wow, I mean—shit." Maya's the one who's shocked which has you snickering under your breath. She's unbelievable.
"Not that I don't want to, but we've decided to take a break from... the sex part."
"And whose stupid idea that was?" she exclaims, a laugh escaping from your lips the moment you see her face while she dramatically leaves her mouth open.
"Mine."
"That explains it."
"Hey!"
She laughs, letting you know she's only joking.
"I thought it would be for the best. I can't really explain it. I just think it's time for a break."
You're not going to tell her he fucked you in the woods while you both were unable to communicate together and were pissed off at each other. While you don't find it uncomfortable to be talking with her about your sex life, there are some things that are better left between you and Jungkook only. It's not like you're embarrassed about it but it feels too personal and intimate to talk about it openly. In the end, just like you told Jungkook, you wanted it at that moment and you don't regret it happening. He was right when he said the sex was good. It always is.
But anyway... you two hooking up surely changed a few things between you and him. You let lust control you and while you believe sex like this doesn't necessarily have to mean a bad thing, you wonder how else would you solve it if you weren't hooking up.
It's all frustrating and it seems like there are a few things you can't answer because it's that confusing. And you don't understand them.
It might sound all dramatic but it's nothing like that. It's no big deal. You'll continue your friendship the same way and the only difference will be sex. You can't think about it too much, knowing once your hormones get the best out of you, you're going to have a hard time accepting your own idea.
"What about you guys? Are you ready to go back home?"
Maya groans, tilting her head back as she nods. "Yeah, I could do another day here. Though we've got a wedding to plan."
"Do you know what month it's gonna be?"
"We don't. We're about to make some calls and meet up with a few people to see which place is closest to our terms. I'm excited, don't get me wrong, but it's so stressful to plan everything. We definitely want it to happen this year after having a conversation. But summer is pretty much all booked everywhere, unless we want some unaesthetic and cheap place."
She sighs before smiling.
"But it's okay. Joon is a huge help and he's very much involved. We're doing everything together."
"That's great. Let me know if there's anything I can help with. I'm not sure how I'd be able to help, I know shit about weddings but just call me if there's anything I could do."
Maya gives you an appreciative smile. "You're a sweetheart."
With a smile on your face, you start folding a sleeping bag which you're sure belongs to Yoongi, who (surprisingly) is cleaning up the truck of his car so everything is neat and good to go. You're unaware of Maya's stare that's aimed behind you until she speaks up.
"A stupid sweetheart if you decided not to fuck him."
"What?" you mumble, following her eyes.
There he is.
Jungkook stops his task to grasp the hem of his shirt, bringing it up and dabbing the tiny droplets of sweat covering his forehead. That wouldn't be the issue if he didn't expose his abs to everyone's eyes – even though only you and Maya are staring – showing his bulky chest. Dryly gulping, you quickly turn around and nudge Maya to look away.
She gives you a knowing look, offering you a friendly pat to your shoulder as you click your tongue in annoyance.
They're just abs. Ones you've seen multiple times. You're fine.
You're going to be fine.
You still rush to pack your things, not even glancing in Jungkook's direction. Too scared to see him doing bare minimum and look absolutely hot while doing it.
Tumblr media
Everything went back to normal. Well, new normal.
Yoongi acts like he hasn't spent a whole weekend with you, still patiently waiting for his lunch every day. Even on the way back home, he barely said a word and hummed quietly to his playlist. Surprisingly, you took a decent nap, catching up the lost sleep you experienced the night before.
After four days of constantly buying Yoongi a lunch, you regret ever inviting him more and more each day. The man demands his lunch, holding you up to your deal. Are you surprised? No. Were you hoping he would leave you alone after a few days? Yes .
The group chat is full of memes and possibly dates to hang out again, reminding you of your supposedly summer vacation. After the camping trip, you're a little bit more wary to plan something longer and serious than just a casual hangout. It's pretty stupid. One argument shouldn't hold you back from experiencing new memories with your friends.
You and Jungkook haven't really spoken since the camping trip. You got to say a warm goodbye and ever since then, both of you have been too busy jumping back to your lives to talk. You know you're fine though. In your friends group chat, you've replied to one another a few times – mostly reacting to the memes or just to joke around. So far, there's not much change in your relationship with Jungkook. It feels pretty same and you know it's only because you haven't had the time to hang out and be alone. Is it stupid of you to say that you're a little bit nervous when that time comes?
However, it eventually comes just when you anticipate it and you don't avoid it. This has been your idea after all.
You and Jungkook text back and forth, this time in a separate chat without prying eyes of Jimin and Taehyung. Jungkook's days and evenings are fully packed. There's not much time to hang out typically at your or his place – which again might be dangerous and too soon for you. You're being dramatic, that's for sure. But once he comes up with a plan, for some reason you agree even if his plan is the least common place to hang out for you and him.
Stepping inside the building, you're surprisingly met with a nice scent of freshness instead of sweat and testosterone. The gym Jungkook visits is certainly popular and modern, based on the fully packed gym and its interior that has a sweat already rolling down your back.
“This is most certainly new.” you mutter, eyes wide staring around you as Jungkook cackles, leading you toward the front desk.
There, of course, is a young female receptionist wearing a cropped tank top with leggings as if she's the one that's about to work out. Once again, Jungkook's often visit here shows when she easily recognizes him and both drops formality, which you don't expect.
While Jungkook goes to equip your gym access after you greet each other with the receptionist, you silently standby and listen to their conversation. You're aware of Jungkook's membership here and judging by the clear sight of the receptionist recognizing and knowing him, he doesn't have to show anything to prove his identity.
“Are you interested in getting a trainer for this session?” she asks, eyes jumping between you and Jungkook.
“No.” You and him speak at the same time.
Nodding, she clicks off a few things on the computer before she says the price for a single access which has your eyes almost falling out their sockets. You and Jungkook both pull out your wallets. Desperately trying to beat him, you're too late as he pulls out his card sooner and pays.
“I could've paid for myself.” you point out, pursing your lips in a mere annoyance. Can't lie though. Your heart surely feels lighter knowing you haven't had to pay such a price for a full hour and half of torture.
Suddenly, Jungkook's plan doesn't seem that good at all. You would very much test your willpower back at his or your place.
“I know you could've.” he sings out annoyingly, leaving you to roll your eyes at him as he thanks the woman, leading you away. “It was my idea, I know this gym is a bit pricey and you're not exactly the type to spend money on something like this.”
“Yah!” you nudge him, met with a toothy grin as he teasingly nudges you back. “What are you saying? Maybe I'll enjoy working out. I should work on those muscles.”
You and him share a look, grinning at each other after cracking up a few moments later, knowing very well he's right and you're full of shit. Working out is not exactly your priority. You have enough exercise when working, constantly on your feet all day. Not mentioning how much you walk and sometimes rush to get Yoongi his fucking lunch. But well, that's completely on you. It's a nice reminder to never do that again. To involve him in your stupid plans.
While Jungkook leads you to the gym equipment (you're sure he would know his way around blindfolded), you're trying your best not to stare at all those muscular and slim people around you. Damn, you're really out of place right now. They all seem to know what they're doing.
“You wanna lift some weights?” Jungkook asks, tossing down water bottles and two towels he grabbed from home for you and him. “Wait, you did some stretching before coming here, right?”
When he's met with silence, he looks up just to see your brow raised with a frown on your lips. He sighs, disapprovingly and not very subtly shaking his head as he mutters your name.
“I got into this bizarre outfit right after I got from work!” you exclaim, pointing at yourself.
You tried your best, alright? A simple black leggings and an oversized shirt. It's definitely not the hottest outfit you would often see on Instagram of some fitness model, or just most women who work out and want to look nice. But who cares?
“And I don't ever stretch. Nobody's got time for that.” you mutter.
Jungkook snickers, some of his hair falling and shielding his forehead as he sits down on the bench. “You should stretch every morning, regardless if you work out or not.”
He used to stretch your muscles in other ways.
Oops –intrusive thoughts!
“Alright, alright.” You roll your eyes at him which has him laughing.
“Okay, do some basic stretching while I do some lifting.” Already seeing your disapproving face, he continues. “Trust me, you're gonna thank me later.”
“But you said you would go easy on me!”
He did say that. In fact, he doesn't plan to destroy you on your first proper work out session. And probably the last because who knows? You're unpredictable sometimes.
But instead of calming down your nerves, he lies down but not before shooting you a smirk. “When have I ever?”
He starts lifting the heavy weight, pressing his lips tightly as he occasionally groans, some of them taking you far away from the gym. Still standing there, you dryly gulp and wonder, why the fuck you haven't invited him over instead? Suddenly, it sounds way more safer than this for numerous reasons.
Tumblr media
Jeon Jungkook is coming for your neck.
All he does is the same thing he would’ve done if you weren’t here. He’s focused, checking on you to see if you’re really stretching your muscles like he has advised you from time to time. While he’s oblivious to your inner thoughts and how much you’re actually trying to ignore the way his muscles tense and flex during his workout, he makes sure to give you a stern look every time he sees you flaking.
He would’ve been a stern trainer, that’s for sure.
One thing about him is that he takes his job and hobbies very seriously. He doesn’t like when people fuck around — maybe that’s why he’s so opposed to take Taehyung to workout with him. You’re clear Taehyung would enjoy being here just as much as some of the female audience clearly enjoy watching Jungkook. Obviously, he would not enjoy them eyeing and salivating over him, but rather appreciate the clear attention because you know they would eye Taehyung just as much.
But Jungkook stays focused on himself, partly focused on you while you’ve been stretching your legs for the past five minutes until Jungkook reminds you to switch and stretch other parts with breathless voice.
Once he finishes, he sits up and takes a short break as he watches you with an amused expression, sparkles dancing in his dark brown eyes.
“What?” you huff out. “Am I doing it wrong?”
“No,” he laughs. “I just never thought I’d see the day of you working out.”
Straightening up, you flip him off with a sarcastic smile which allows him to laugh even more. “Don’t sweat it. I’m not working out yet.”
After a minute, you stop stretching feeling like you’ve done a decent job. Met with Jungkook’s gaze, you purse your lips.
“You know… we could’ve gone to a cinema or do something instead.”
“Complaining already?” he asks amusingly, resting his arm over his thigh as he manspreads himself.
Are you? It definitely sounds like it and to be honest, you're not sure. You thought spending time with him just hanging out would be a great opportunity to get your friendship back to the old ways. Even though there was a thought in the back of your mind of how that was going to go when you simply imagined Jungkook's sweaty body. You've had the opportunity to see him working out at his place and even back then, you had an awful time trying not to gawk at him.
With the never-ending thoughts, you grow more upset at yourself. Jungkook is one fine piece of man and that's definitely not how you only see him. He's much more than that. When you look at him, you see him . Not just the physically attractive side of him. Not the way those girls are still eyeing him shamelessly.
Although, you're not complaining for a reason Jungkook might think. You're not the athletic type like him, he knows that – hell, everyone knows it around you. Or perhaps, it's the tiny bit of this reason too. This is what you wanted.
Perhaps you made things more dramatic and serious than they have to be. Looking at Jungkook, seeing his toothy grin he sends your way while he's completely oblivious to your inner (and annoying) thoughts, some of the weight lifts off your chest.
“Not at all.” you assure him, ignoring his knowing look but luckily, he doesn't call you out on your bluff.
“Come on, maybe we should do some cardio now. Get you heated up a little.”
Don't worry, you already took care of it, you think as you nod with a tight smile, following him across the room.
Jungkook sets up the treadmill for you, setting up a manageable pace for you before he joins you.
While music hits of this year blasts through the speakers, he advises you to focus on your breathing before he informs you you're going to do a few miles. Jungkook is keeping up with you, not sticking to his usual routine and for that, you're grateful. It feels nice to do the same thing together, just being in each other's presence even though there's not much time to actually have a conversation.
After a while, you notice the same women who were shamelessly watching Jungkook the entire time since they noticed him, join you on the treadmills. Scoffing a little under your breath, you glance at Jungkook who's too focused to even notice anything.
As you open your mouth to comment on it in front of him, Jungkook is in his own world as he suddenly tugs his shirt over his head before he tosses it over the handrail. That's when he must sense your prominent eyes on him as he glances your way.
“Seriously?”
“It's getting hot.” he explains, shrugging as he continues totally unbothered.
Huffing out, you tuck a strand of hair behind your hair that has managed to get out of your ponytail. “You're aware of your fanclub here, right?”
“What?” Jungkook breathes out, shooting you a confused look. “What are you talking about?”
You snicker, “There are like three women who have been eyeing you since the moment they spotted you. They even followed us here, so they could stare .” you inform him amusingly, shaking your head when you see his frowned expression. “Oh come on. Don't tell me you're not aware. It probably happens every time you come here.”
You're not dumb and neither is Jungkook. He's definitely not clueless how many female gazes he catches (sometimes even male).
“I wasn't aware of them . But yeah, it happens.” he admits almost shyly, clearing his throat.
You trace his tattooed arm with your eyes for a moment, before saying: “Has anyone hit on you while you were working out?”
“Y/N!” he exclaims, sounding almost scandalized by your blunt question. “I said focus on your breathing.”
Is Jeon Jungkook being flustered? It only spurs you on and spreads your cheeky grin even wider. “Oh, so you do get hit on.”
Jungkook huffs, “Yeah, it happens sometimes.”
Hm, sometimes. You're not sure if you believe that.
“How fast?”
“What is this?” Jungkook laughs, “Are you interrogating me?”
“Just curious.”
You really are. You haven't experienced being at the gym with him before. It's fascinating how he behaves here. Not that he's different or something, but it is quite interesting to witness this part of his life.
He sighs when she spots your curious gaze and the cheeky grin, rolling his eyes at you before he huffs out his response. “It usually happens by now. But you're here with me, so I'm guessing that's what holds them back.”
Why is that not surprising? Instead of feeling anything negative, you find that fact amusing and it makes you chuckle. “Oh, should I leave? Give them a chance to come here?” you joke, laughing even more when you see Jungkook's glare.
“You're annoying.”
In the midst of your laughing, you notice him cracking a grin which he has tried to hide. Your body feels lighter, despite your muscles growing tired already, but the moment between you lingers. This is how it felt before. Just you and him – teasing each other.
Turning off the treadmill sooner than you should've (after hoping you've clicked the right button), you take the small towel Jungkook has brought you and wipe your forehead. You bite back the laugh that wants to come out when you see Jungkook's suspicious stare.
“Scared I'm gonna leave?” you tease, causing him to huff out as he cuts off his run and turns off the equipment.
“Don't you dare.” he says, wiping his own sweat as he grabs the bottle of water and takes a few gulps.
While his head is tilted back, throat bobbing at the way he gulps, you find yourself eyeing his buffed out chest. You don't expect to see Jungkook's eyes on you as soon as you look away from the amount of naked flesh, cheeks heating up immediately as his lips curl into a smirk.
“Stop teasing me.” he simply says, moving closer as he drapes his towel over his shoulder.
“Are you sure I'm the one that's teasing?” you ask silently, eyes flickering down to his chest again as he chuckles.
“I always tend to take off my shirt. I promise I'm not teasing.”
You believe that. Jungkook doesn't owe you an explanation and after all, you do know very well he prefers to be as naked as possible. Looking around, you spot a few guys shirtless as well and it's not that unusual to see the extra skin here.
“Perhaps you could control yourself a little, you know, around me.” you say with a cheeky tone, pointing at his body as he plays your game, humming while nodding.
And then he does something unexpected. He brushes his thumb across your bottom lip, feeling the softness of it as it feels like he prints his fingertip to the skin he tasted many times before. “You wanted the break, remember?”
The way he drops his tone but still keeps it light and teasing causes your heartbeat to pick up its pace. Stop, stop, stop . Hearing the warnings and red lights going on in your head, you stay rooted in your spot as Jungkook drops his hand, lips twitching.
He's not oblivious when it comes to you though. He can tell your single body language or expression from miles away.
“Perhaps you're the one who needs to control yourself a little.” And then he's patting your shoulder in a comforting manner.
He walks away, laughing and fully content at your speechless appearance, ushering to continue in your routine as you mindlessly follow him. But not before sending a small glare toward Jungkook's fanclub, seeing them whispering among themselves.
Surprisingly, things go back to normal and there's no teasing happening after that. While your heart still beats a little faster than it should've – and it's definitely not from working out and following Jungkook's instructions – the lingering tension is almost not there. Jungkook is back to being serious, showing you the right way to do things when needed and you listen obediently, doing an actual good job at it. Even if he's back in your mind during all of that, you find yourself to be distracted enough to enjoy your time here. And just you and him hanging out.
Hour and a half passes quickly. Quicker than you previously thought it would. You get separated when it's time to take a shower and change clothes. Jungkook is finished soon, waiting for you at the reception (no surprise) as he's chatting with the receptionist again. Once he sees you done, he bids a goodbye and wraps his arm around your shoulder.
“So, what are you saying? Are you gonna be my workout partner?” he teases, the two of you walking out of the building as he leads you to his parked car.
All you can muster to do in response is to let out an awkward chuckle. “I would rather not.”
For obvious reasons.
Tumblr media
Tossing the packaged food, beef burger and big fries precisely, onto the desk, you watch the bane of your existence slowly turn his chair in your direction as he makes sure you see his well amused and annoying grin. Delivering him a huge sarcastic and tight smile, you hold yourself back from wrapping your hands around his neck and choke him.
Min Yoongi has been nothing but a big menace. The worst thing is that you can't really complain because you agreed to it.
Today, he requested to get a burger with fries for his lunch. The closest place is around twenty minutes from your workplace by a car, so you spent most of your lunchbreak getting his fucking burger, waiting for them to prepare it and then driving back. Your bank account is slowly starting to cry. Or is that you ?
“Why thank you.” he beams sarcastically, sniffling the air around him as he leans closer to the packed meal, only spurring your annoyance for sure.
“It's not like I had a choice.” you remind him sweetly.
“A deal is a deal.” he sings out, the sound of you taking a deep breath causing his lips to twitch.
You don't give him the joy of begging him, or even trying to talk him out of this. After all, he's not wrong. You like to think of it as your punishment for making a stupid decision. Overall, it wasn't that bad and for that, you're glad. Yoongi (surprisingly) got along with the guys and for what could be assumed a weak moment, he even told you he was enjoying the time there. It was certainly a weak moment on your part when you allowed yourself to cry in front of Min Yoongi. Somehow, you managed to convince him to hug you. The awkward hug makes you cringe till this day and you're sure Yoongi feels the same. However, he seemed to have his own weak moments for sure. Why else would he ever assure you that he did have a good time? Min Yoongi is not all bad, deep down you know that.
“So how are things with your boyfriend?” He starts unpacking his meal, the scent filling the room as the office is yet to be filled with your colleagues. Most of them haven't gotten back from their lunch breaks, but that will soon change as it's supposed to end in five minutes. Unless they don't want Junho to come for their asses and spend the rest of the day listening to him complaining.
“Good?” you ask confusingly. “Since when do you care?”
“I don't, but today has been boring as fuck.” he says simply, taking the first bite of the hamburger you paid for. You ignore the way your mouth salivates. You've managed to eat fries on your way here – something Jungkook would surely scold you for. He wouldn't approve of you eating while driving. Good thing he doesn't know.
“I told you I'm not here for your amusement, Min.” you remind him.
“Back to last name basis? I thought we're closer than that after our weekend together.” he says loud enough for Benjamin to hear who's passing by, your cheeks flaring hot as he gives you both a weird look, luckily continuing his way toward the breakroom, you assume.
“Our weekend? First of all, ew,” You cringe, erupting a laugh from him as his cheeks are puffed out with the hamburger. “And seriously? Do you really want rumors to start going around?”
“Nobody would believe I would go for you, relax.” he scoffs while your jaw drops to the floor. Once you collect yourself, you sit yourself on the edge of his desk.
“You did go for me once, as far as I can remember. And if I remember correctly, you did tell me my pu–”
“We don't talk about that.” he cuts you off abruptly, worth enough for you to say the words aloud when seeing his reaction as he looks flustered of you bringing it up.
It's not like you wanted to, he didn't give you a chance.
“Me and my boyfriend are doing great though. How about you? Have you found yourself a suitable partner that is willing to keep up with your ass?”
Yoongi chokes on his spit, trying his best for the food to stay in his mouth and that's when you know your job is done.
“Enjoy your meal, Yoongi.” you tell him sweetly, getting off his desk and walking away with a triumphal grin.
Tumblr media
The rest of your day goes smoothly, even when you haven't had a proper lunch but your latest interaction with Yoongi just brightens up your whole day. The look on his face and the little frown he made sure you see just made your day. And you made sure to let him know that. Not even Benjamin giving you a weird look very subtly could make you ruin your day.
That's how you've felt until you get inside your apartment building, knowing you have to change your clothes and freshen up before the guys come here. Taehyung is still at work and you're pretty sure so is Jimin, so you have a little bit of time before their arrival. Just as you're putting your phone back inside your purse, you lift your gaze to greet the neighbor just for you to let out an audible gasp. One that gets the attention of the very last person you've expected to see.
In full glory, your ex-boyfriend stands a few doors away as he looks up, surely hearing you before his own eyes widen and mouth opens in surprise.
“Y/N,” he breathes out, surprised just as much as you are.
“You've got to be kidding me.” you mutter, not dropping your eyes off Haneul.
He hasn't changed, yet he seems different than the last time you saw him. He's sober this time for sure but that's not what you meant. At the sight of him, you're reminded of the moments you've spent together. Still shocked to see him, Haneul carefully walks closer.
“I–uh, my friend moved here. I was just visiting him, I didn't know you live here, I swear.”
The little panicked tone and expression on his face makes your features soften. The last encounter you had with him wasn't a pleasant one. You've had enough reasons to stay mad at him. And maybe a tiny part of you still is because of his own mistake. You wouldn't like to go back to it though. You've talked since then and you ended that chapter in your life. But still. Seeing him in front of you, looking panicked and careful like a lost puppy makes you feel bad for some reason.
He has gained weight. Not lots of it but he looks… bigger and buff, though his cheekbones and jaw are more prominent.  He's wearing jeans, a simple white shirt with a patterned overshirt over it. He looks… good. Even his hair is darker and longer. That's what reminds you of the last time you've seen him.
“It's okay,” you assure him slowly, not quite sure what to say. “I'm just surprised to see you here.”
“So am I,” he says, his features turning alarmed once again as he quickly jumps to elaborate. “I mean I'm surprised to see you here too. I really didn't know you live here.”
“It's fine.” you chuckle a little. You know how weird it must be for him too. Since the last time he assured you he wasn't stalking you, and based on his body language and expression right now, you're aware that he is actually scared of you to think otherwise.
He's nervous. You're actually surprised that you can tell even after all these months.
“I never thought I would see you again,” he says softly. “I–do you have a minute?”
Frowning automatically, you look around and shift on your spot. He is not oblivious to your evident uncertainty and perhaps discomfort, his face saddening.
“It won't be long. I just want to tell you something. It's been haunting me ever since… ever since the last time I saw you. I understand if you don't want to but…” he trails off, scratching his temple.
Looking back and forth between your apartment's door, you hesitate for a moment. For one, you're still shocked to see him here. To see him standing just a few feet away from you, looking at you in a total hope as he pleads with his eyes.
Do you want him inside your place? It sounds too… intimate. Your place is private. To have him there out of all people… you're not sure how to feel about it. But one thing is sure, you definitely don't want to have this conversation in the hallway where anyone could hear you.
“Let's take it inside, this is not a proper place to have any conversation.” you decide to say, slow with your movements as you move to tap your code and open the door.
“Are you sure? I don't wanna overstep.”
Looking across your shoulder, you find him staring into the distance to avoid looking at your code to give you some privacy. That alone makes you feel safer because you know he wouldn't hurt you. Whatever happened back at the club… it was a mess but that shouldn't define all of him.
Still, you create a distance between you and him, still making sure he sees your hardened gaze as you invite him inside.
“We can just talk here,” he says as soon as he closes the front door. “We don't have to go further.” He proposes.
Taking off your shoes, you cross your arms over your chest before leaning against the wall. “Okay, then talk.”
For a moment, he seems to be lost at words. But once you cock your brow at him, he shakes himself out of it and fumbles over his words. You're patient though, waiting for him to say whatever he needs to.
“I don't remember much from our last… from the last time I saw you. I mean–I do remember bits of it but I was too wasted to remember or even know what I was doing. I never reached out to you, not that I didn't want to, but I thought it's better if I didn't,”
You give him a look, raising your brow again as if to tell him that he's damn right .
“Listen, I don't wanna take any more of your time or bother you. I owe you a big apology, I shouldn't have ever cornered you like that. I was drunk and out of my mind. I still wasn't over our break-up and when I saw you–I lost it, I drank too much and I had no control over myself and for that, I'm ashamed.”
Squeezing your forearms subtly, you just stare at him before you sigh. “I was drunk too. I almost let you kiss me. And I probably would've if…” Jungkook didn't get between you two.
 Haneul knows that, nodding understandably.
“I never had a peace of mind after that. I was dumb and irresponsible. I still wasn't over the first love as they say.”
You stand up straight, arms still crossed. “I do hope you find your happiness.”
“Can I ask you something?” He tries, waiting for your nod. Once he gets it, he takes a breath and opens his mouth again. “How did you get over it?”
“Time,” you say as he nods, knowing that must be his answer as well. “And I had my friends too.”
Biting the inside of his cheek, he looks away as he nods. He knows who is included in your friend's circle and his very subtly annoyed reaction proves it. Jealousy is what got you into this mess in the first place. Who knows where you two would be if it weren't for the entire argument that took place during winter.
“Um, well thank you for giving me a chance to apologize in person. I really needed that and I appreciate it.”
You nod. You could tell him that you hope he truly moved on. That he deserves happiness too and he shouldn't beat himself over his past mistakes too much. Or that you hope he matured into the right person because deep down, you know he's not bad. He had hurt you and you never expected it from him, but looking at you now, you've moved on faster than he has. He is still here, has waited for his moment to apologize again and you appreciate that. But to create more distance and avoid unnecessary affection, you stay quiet. Something tells you it's better this way.
Perhaps you're being harsh. Or just reasonable and smart.
Who knows.
He opens his door and you follow him, ready to say the final goodbye which doesn't necessarily mean you won't ever say hi again if you see each other in person. Knowing now that one of his friends lives here, there might be times when you see each other again. But there's no longer any connection there. You won't stay friends like you could've. You think it could only mess with his head.
Once you look up, you wonder why Haneul hasn't stepped out yet only to find Jungkook standing on the opposite side of the door, a prominent frown and glare framing his face.
“What the fuck.”
Getting in between them, you pull Jungkook inside as he spares you a short glance before his eyes don't leave Haneul's figure. You get Jungkook behind you and as Haneul gets the clue, he steps out of your place.
“Thanks again.” he murmurs, trying not to glare too much at Jungkook who's still standing behind you.
Giving Haneul one final nod and silent goodbye, you watch his figure retrieve as you let out a big sigh.
“What was he doing here?” Jungkook asks, breathlessly almost getting worked up at seeing Haneul here.
It's not like you blame him. Haneul wasn't on his best behavior the last time he saw him. And before that too.
“His friend moved here and we bumped into each other.”
“Great.” he states sarcastically, taking off his sneakers as he gives you a stern look which makes you innocently shrug before closing the door.
“He wanted to apologize.”
“And you let him inside your apartment? Jesus, Y/N.” He rubs his forehead, causing you to shrug.
“He was drunk at that time, Kook. He wouldn't hurt me.”
“You don't know that.”
“I do know that!” you argue, watching his brow raise as you retrieve a little, nibbling on your lip.
Okay, maybe you don't know that. Haneul has proved himself to be… unexpected. But you don't think he would go far as to hurt you.
Jungkook sighs, closing his eyes as he leans his head back and stares at the ceiling for a second. He walks up to you, expression softening. “Y/N, baby,” He cups your cheek to make you look at him. You dryly gulp, having him this close to you after a long time. “We both know sometimes you can get upset and with a guy like him, you don't know how he's gonna react.”
You do know what he means. Sometimes you can't control your mouth. But that's the last thing on your mind, not with him so close and calling you– “Baby,” You crack a grin. “We're on a break, remember?”
Jungkook huffs out a laugh, dropping his hands as you try to ignore the mere disappointment by that simple action. “Sorry.”
“I liked it.” you silently confess.
He lifts up his gaze, mouth opening slightly before hard knocks behind you causes you to flinch. That breaks a moment as you see Taehyung's close up face on the display next to your door right after a ringbell can be heard, the system turning on the camera automatically. Jimin is behind him, nudging his head out of the camera. Snickering, you open the door as the lock unclicks and you're met with your friends face to face.
“What's up fuckers? What's the commotion about?” Taehyung cackles, tossing his sneakers off as Jimin sighs and shakes his head at evidently very active Taehyung.
“Ignore him. He had a few drinks after work with his co-workers.”
“I was celebrating!”
“You celebrate a lot then.” Jimin mutters, ignoring Taehyung's glare before his sharp eyes stop on you two.
“Commotion? What were you talking about?”
“We heard your voices when we got out of the elevator.” Taehyung answers you.
“Were you listening behind the door, Kim Taehyung?” you exclaim, shooting him a disapproving look as he gasps and shakes his head, clearly offended by the suggestion. As if that couldn't happen when it comes to him.
“We really weren't. We just heard voices because surprisingly, this fucker here was quiet the whole time on the elevator and even after we got out of it. We couldn't hear much. Taehyung is just as dramatic as always.”
“I was just joking, jesus. And who you're calling fucker?”
You roll your eyes. “You just called us fuckers.” you point out, everyone going further down your apartment as you turn on the lights since you haven't had the chance to go fully inside.
Taehyung just innocently shrugs. “But what's with the faces?”
“Y/N had her ex-boyfriend over.” Jungkook shrugs, your head snapping toward his direction as everyone in the room gasps.
Jimin and Taehyung stare at you as if you were caught in a lie, their mouths open as their asses drop down onto your couch at the same time. The scenario is funny and you would surely laugh at them if it weren't for their disapproving and scandalized looks.
“Ex-boyfriend as the slut shaming asshole?” Taehyung asks, narrowing his eyes at you as you sigh.
“It wasn't exactly that, thanks a lot Jungkook,” you point at him, just as he shrugs in return before making himself comfortable in your chair. “His friend lives here, on the same floor I assume. We bumped into each other and he wanted to talk.”
“And you invited him here?” Jimin asks, frowning as you sigh just as Jungkook butts in.
“That's what I said!”
“I–” You stop for a second, rubbing your nose before sitting down on the arm rest, close to Taehyung. “I didn't wanna talk about it in the hallway. You guys didn't see him–” They start rolling their eyes and muttering a bunch of disapprovals before you quickly add. “He seriously just wanted to apologize for the last time. I gave him that choice and I'm unharmed. I'm okay. See?”
“You better be.” Taehyung warns. Jimin nods, agreeing.
“You guys act like he physically harmed me. He's not that violent.” you inform them.
As much as you appreciate their protective nature, you know Haneul is not the type to harm you physically. They all make it seem like that and you do think maybe they're a bit overprotective in this manner.
“And I'm perfectly fine to tell him to fuck off.”
“Sometimes that's not enough. Sometimes that can cause more harm than you think.” Taehyung reminds you.
“Yeah, sorry Y/N but Tae's right.” Jimin agrees.
“You never know how any guy can react when they're mad.”
“You guys are being dramatic now.”
“Maybe, but better be safe than sorry.” Jungkook mutters. His elbow is resting against the armrest, fingers nibbling on his bottom lip as he gives you a stern look.
“Kook's right,” Taehyung agrees. “Wait–Jungkook, you saw him? Was there a fight I missed?”
You snicker, “There was no fight, Tae because there wasn't a need for one.”
He disappointedly leans back with a pout.
“He left peacefully. Said what he wanted to say and he's gone.”
“I hope you're not planning to see him again.” Jimin wonders, giving you a suspicious look as you stutter over your words, shocked at his suspicion while Taehyung snaps his head toward you, already ready to react.
“Why would she? God, don't be stupid to get back to him, Y/N.”
“Oh my god!” You shake your head, stopping him right away. “First of all, no one is getting back with anyone. I'm not interested in him like that, not that it's any of your business.” You tell them sternly, looking at every one of them, met with frowning Jungkook and then a second after, with the same looking Jimin and Taehyung.
“We're just worried about you, that's all. But Jimin-ah, she has Jungkook now, right?” Taehyung teases.
“I appreciate the concern, but I'm not that dumb. And please stop bringing up me and Kook. We're not… doing that anymore.”
“What?!”
“You're not?”
Their reaction comes at the same time, bouncing against the wall of your small living room as the duo glance at Jungkook who nods in confirmation.
You weren't exactly planning on telling them, in fact you and Jungkook never talked about telling anyone but that's simply because there was no need to. As always, that's between you and Jungkook. But now it seems like a good thing to inform them since Taehyung practically assumes you and Jungkook are hooking up. And despite his obvious shock and almost disappointment, his mouth frowns as Jimin suspiciously eyes you and Jungkook.
You don't tell them that you took a break. It's almost embarrassing to admit that you want to continue hooking up with Jungkook. Firstly, you want to focus on hanging out with him only. It seems fresh and nice, despite all the difficulties you have to go through every day.
“So you're no longer hooking up?”
“Who's dumb idea that was?” Taehyung exclaims as Jimin clicks his tongue at him.
“So you're just… friends? Everything went back to normal?” he asks, staring at you before focusing his eyes on Jungkook this time as he nods.
“Do we have to talk about this?” Jungkook asks. “It's not like you discuss your sex life with me.”
“Well–”
“Not you, Tae.” Jungkook cuts him off, causing you to snicker. “But yes, she's telling the truth. Can we move on? I seriously don't wanna talk about my sex life.”
“The lack of right now.” Taehyung snickers, causing Jungkook to throw a pillow at him.
Everyone knows that if Jungkook wanted to get his dick wet, he could do it anytime. The difference is that he's not that type of person and it's something he and Taehyung don't share. Minus Jimin since he's in a relationship now which still blows your mind to be honest.
“I'm glad you guys got some sense after all.” Jimin says, leaning back as he makes himself more comfortable.
You and Jungkook share a look, your breath close to hitching once you spot those dark brown eyes from the distance, as you give Jimin a smile. One that you hope doesn't look nervous just as much as you seem.
Tumblr media
“What about Greece?” Taehyung asks, filling up the thoughtful silence.
Luckily, for your and Jungkook's sake, the topic of your sex-life is no longer discussed – even though you know Taehyung is itching to know more details. Each of you has their phone in their hands, searching for the right destination for your first proper friend vacation.
There have been a few suggestions, though you have to stay realistic. And all of you got bills to pay.
“Won't that be more expensive?” Jimin questions, not quite sold on the latest suggestion.
“Not necessarily. We can always check.” he responds, shrugging.
“And what about Hawaii? Many Koreans visit it, it's familiar and kinda verified if that makes sense.” Jimin says.
“Hawaii sounds nice.” Jungkook hums.
“Oh–Hawaii! Let's go to Hawaii!” Taehyung says excitedly, straightening himself off the sofa as you laugh at his sudden excitement. “I saw this TikTok about Hawaii destinations. It was beautiful.”
“Are you sure it's the destination you saw in that video?” Jungkook teases, both of you cackling as Taehyung flips him off.
“Ah, my aunt went there last year. She can't stop talking about it.” Jimin ignores the three of you, sticking up to the topic while Jungkook and Taehyung stick their tongues out at each other. Kids.
“Honestly, I don't care much where we're gonna go. As long as it's a nice place.” you shrug. “Hawaii sounds nice. Let's check it more, so we can finally decide.”
Everyone agrees with you. When the four of you start searching for more details that entail what island you would pick, accommodation, flight tickets and overall the prices. The tiredness slowly overcomes you, your friends talk too much to the point you zone out. Their voices drift off as your head falls down on Jungkook's shoulder.
You hear them teasing you for falling asleep, but it gets ignored as you simply shrug and continue in your slumber. It's until Jungkook shakes you out of your sleepiness, his soft features are blurry until you blink a few times. In the distance you can see Jimin and Taehyung cleaning after themselves, the two of them in their own conversation. He gives you a gentle smile.
“We're going to Hawaii.”
Tumblr media
Over the course of a couple of days, everything is booked and set up. It feels nearly unreal. You've never experienced a vacation that involved a proper beach and island. It doesn't properly kick in, not even when you inform Junho about the vacation leave you want to take in mid July. Not very pleased by that, he knew you do have a right to take one, so he had to accept it. When everyone got a free pass, the group chat was filled with exciting gifs and memes.
All that is left is to wait.
Taehyung: I fucking need this vacation y'all
Jimin: work?
He expects his job to be the cause of Taehyung's sudden message to the group chat.
Taehyung: no lol
Taehyung: just thinking about all chicks I'm gonna get
Jimin: dude…

Taehyung: where are my friends?! >.<
“They're responsible”
Taehyung: like you're one to talk about responsibility
You gasp, snickering.
“Fuck you”
Taehyung: come here then bby :P
Jimin sends a laughing gif, probably rolling from Taehyung's ridiculous messages.
Jimin: we've matured Tae, time to find a girlfriend
Taehyung: I'd rather cut my dick off
“Can I do it? 🥺”
Jungkook sends laughing emojis.
Taehyung: I knew you were kinky little shit
“Seems like you're the kinky little shit”
Taehyung: I never hid it ;)
“again… EW! -_-”
Jimin: petition to cut tae's dick
“Maybe then he'll finally think with his head rather than his dick”
Taehyung: you little bitch
You send an emoji sending a kiss.
Taehyung: y'all are so mean

Kook: get a grip
“But I love talking about Tae's dick :(((“

“Are the flight tickets returnable?”
Taehyung: no you're stuck with us
Jimin: actually they are but you're going with us
Taehyung: you have no choice ;)
“I'm seriously gonna slap the shit out of you Taehyung”
“But I can't I'm working”
Taehyung: I can visit you ;) just try me
Jimin: yeah don't do it girl
“I'm seriously gonna kick your ass”
Taehyung: I thought you wanted to slap the shit outta me :(
“I can do both”

“Tell him to leave me alone too :<”
Kook: yeah leave her alone too

“Just come here, I'm gonna show you what's teasing”

Kook: 🙄
“🤮”
Jimin: lmaooooo they disgusted
Jimin: me too me too
Taehyung: now that my job's done, enjoy your day you fuckers 😘
There are no messages for a while. You're guessing all of you are busy. It's the middle of the day after all.
“Is he drunk?”
Jimin: no… just taehyung
Somehow, that sums it all up.
Tumblr media
After work, you're in the middle of sorting out your laundry when you videochat with the guys. Much to your surprise, you ended up clocking off early which doesn't happen very often – if ever. Junho has seemed to be in a good mood today, which resulted in letting some of you leave early. Yoongi included who couldn't seem to be happiest as he rushed out of the door as first.
“Where's Jimin?” Taehyung asks, holding his phone down as he unlocks the door of his apartment. The angle would not be very flattering for most people, but it's unfair it's not unflattering when it comes to him at all.
“I think he's on a date.” Jungkook answers, one hand on a wheel as his phone is perfectly angled at him.
You laugh at Taehyung's face. “You know, you could try to go on a date too. I've got a few coworkers who would surely be interested.” you tease him, laughing even more when you see his features scowl in a mere disgust and disinterest.
Jungkook cackles, eyes focused on the road.
“If they're interested in having the time of their lives, my phone's on.” Taehyung jokes.
“You're so confident about that.” Jungkook laughs.
“You know Kook, you should've known that–”
“Alright, alright. Spare me the details. I'm driving.” Jungkook cuts him off quickly, making a grimace that makes you giggle.
“Besides, I'm heading to the club tonight.”
“Alone?” you ask, brows raised in surprise.
It's not like Taehyung is not the type to go somewhere alone, especially to a club. But it used to be something at least one of you went to do together.
“No, I'm meeting Mark in an hour.”
“Wait–Mark as in the Mark I worked with?” you ask, closing the washing machine's door with a thud as you stare wide-eyed at the screen.
“Yeah.”
“How do you know him?” you ask, “I mean—how did this happen?”
You haven't heard of Mark for months. It's true you've seen him a few times after you quit the job there while visiting, but he hasn't been on your mind since then. It's not that weird because Taehyung knows him, you introduced them and Taehyung is very social, but you would've never guessed they actually hung out.
“You know.. My friends started to focus on monogamy, so–”
“Shut up.” You laugh as Taehyung grins before giving you a proper explanation.
“I don't really know, I was in this other club one night and he was working there. I remember him from the time you worked together. Anyway, got drunk and we talked. We bumped into each other a few times since then and we kinda started hanging out.”
“Well, say hi to him from me.”
“Will do.”
A message pops on the top of your screen. You read the name, seeing it's Jungkook texting you. Taehyung starts to ramble, while Jungkook waits at the red light that illuminates his face as he cocks his head toward his phone, motioning for you to text him back.
Kook: movie night tonight? have a free evening
A sudden rush of happiness evokes in your chest and you're too quick to type back.
“Yes!! Got a few movies recs we can watch”
“What are the two of you smiling about?” Taehyung asks, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.
“Nothing, nothing.” you sing out, seeing Jungkook chuckle as he starts driving again.
“You can join me.” Taehyung suggests.
“I don't feel like clubbing tonight.”
“Yeah, me neither. ” Jungkook hums.
“Boring, I'm telling y'all. You are getting boring as fuck.”
“We're getting older, Tae.” you laugh.
“You? You're the youngest out of all of us! ” he exclaims.
“I'm an old soul, Tae. What can I say?”
“Old soul my ass.” he grumbles.
The three of you laugh and joke around until the call ends shortly after. A few minutes later, there's a knock at your door signalizing you of someone's arrival. Opening the door with a huge grin, your features falter a little when you see him. Jeon Jungkook stands in front of your door, hair wet as he informs you of the short summer rain he caught on his way here and that you've completely missed. Tattooed hand goes into his hair, swiping them off his forehead as a few droplets drop down his thin black leather jacket.
He looks straight out of a movie. A total heartthrob.
He arches his brow at you, chuckling. “You're gonna let me in or not?”
Fuck.

Prologue
"Insecurity kills all that is beautiful". - Anonymous
It was the early morning, the streets were still empty as the sun gently entered the buildings waking everyone up from their deep sleep. L/N Y/N slowly opened her eyes when she heard a cabinet close from the bathroom. She let out a small groan and turned towards the clock on her nightstand, 07:35 am. She ran her hand through her messy hair as she let a deep sigh out. Today was supposed to be her day off, and so was Taehyung’s but it seems like things have changed.
She glanced at the door with a frown, the talk from last night was still clouding up her mind. There was something wrong but she can’t change anything if he doesn’t tell her anything. She quickly shook her head and picked up her phone to message her best friend, Kim Sejeong.
How is he?
She looked up from the text and stared at the wall with a hard look. It was a simple question that had a complex answer. An answer that she doesn’t have, which made things harder.
I don’t know...he hasn’t really talked to me since our conversation.
Give him some time.
Kim Taehyung stared at the mirror with a hard look. He didn’t get much sleep last night, who would? Seeing the person you love cry because of your own foolishness could keep anyone up. That’s what made things so hard, especially right now. He glanced down at the sink as he closed his eyes and the scene replayed right before him.
Being center stage was normal for Taehyung. All eyes were on him as he expressed his feelings but this was different. The center stage that he became so familiar with was on fire and the only one that felt it was him. He stared at Y/N as she wiped tears away from her eyes, "Tae, why are you ignoring me?"
There was an answer but it couldn't leave his lips. He couldn't disappoint her....he couldn't see her eyes look at him with sadness or even pity. That would make him sick. All this was caused by his brain and nothing more.
He placed his hand on top of her knee and produced the best fake smile that he could muster, "I'm sorry love. I've been so tired."
Y/N glanced at his hand and then at his face, "Is that the truth?"
No..."Yes, let's go have dinner. I'm sorry I made you cry."
"Tae, just talk to me, please. I don't want to be left in the dark."
What kind of man am I? "You won't be in the dark."
I'll solve this for us, Y/N. Don't worry about my own foolishness. I'll become better for us.
He quickly snapped out of his thoughts when there was a knock at the door, “Baby, you’ve been in there for a long time...is everything okay?”
His fingers gripped the countertop and let out a small cough, “I’m okay...I’ll be out in a few minutes.”
“I’ll start breakfast...”
He listened to her footsteps until the silence was choking him. He roughly ran his fingers through his hair as he was frustrated with himself. A foolish man with a brain that tortures him and it was all his fault. Nothing more and nothing less.
ACT I [ Three Months ago]
"I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul." - Pablo Neruda, from his poem "Sonnet XVII" in "100 Love Sonnets"
Y/N put her coffee back down as the glare from the Hybe building blinds her. She was sitting at a cafe across the street and on this busy morning in Korea, she was hidden away by a black piece of fabric. It was another typical morning for Y/N, to get a cup of coffee and wait for her boyfriend. Nothing more and nothing less. Well...her boyfriend was someone that everyone knew and the same goes for herself. No one in the public knew that the famous actress; L/N Y/N, was in a relationship with Kim Taehyung of Bts for four years. A secret love that was in the hands of those who were close to them and that's how it's going to be until the time is right to come out.
She whipped her head towards the door and a smile appeared under her mask when she saw her boyfriend coming in with his black coat hiding who he was. Of course, she knew it was him, she bought him that coat on their second anniversary. She had the matching one but she kept it in a special place with her other special gifts from him.
She stood up in excitement and quickly made her way towards him. He glanced towards the sudden footsteps and smiled under his mask. She wrapped her arm around his, causing him to snicker at her clinginess, “You look extra mysterious today, love.”
Taehyung let out a small laugh and glanced at his jacket, “You said you wanted me to dress up like Sherlock. I hope I did him justice.”
She gently picked up the material and smiled, “My favorite detective.”
He entwined their fingers together and walked back towards her table, “Speaking of detective...”
She rolled her eyes at this and looked away from his small smirk, “It’s just another acting gig...”
He rubbed her knuckles and kissed the top of her head, “It’s not just another gig. It’s a Netflix show, that’s incredible. I’m proud of you.”
“I’m just nervous because I’m working with people who have had more experience than me.”
They sat back at the table and he placed his hand on top of hers on the table, “I think it's exciting. Tell me about it.”
“It’s called Human Touch...I play the female lead who falls in love with the arrogant detective.”
He continued to rub her knuckles and nodded his head, “That sounds like all the books you read.”
She felt her face get hot under the mask and she pouted under the mask, “Don’t tease me. Are we still having lunch?”
“Yeah, but the restaurant we want to go to is closed today. Want to go to Jin’s?”
“Ohh, that’s free food. Let’s go!~”
Y/N and Taehyung are the friends-to-lovers story that everyone loves to read. She was Hoseok’s best friend from high school and after not seeing each other in years, Hoseok begged her to come to a concert near where she lived at the time. She just finished her second drama and her name was trending online but that didn’t mean anything to her. She was still a rookie with a famous friend. She didn’t want to be seen as a social climber. Hoseok didn’t really care about that and she finally accepted after he got his sister to ask her to come.
She entered the dressing room and looked around with wide and curious eyes. The room wasn’t what she was expecting. Honestly, she had no idea what to expect. The room was so large that it should be considered to be a living room. There were couches that were calling out her name but she knew how expensive they were. She didn’t want to get them dirty.
She glanced down at her backstage pass and took a deep breath. BTS was on a whole new level of fame. She worked with famous actors/actresses but this is so different. They were known around the world and were loved by almost everyone. It made this meeting even more nerve-wracking for her.
“Are you Hoseok-hyung’s friend?”
She turned her head and she was met with brown eyes that were really close to her own. She jumped back and tilted her head at him, “Y-Yes. Who’s asking?”
“I’m Taehyung. I just wanted to meet the person that Hoseok spent a week talking about.”
She swallowed her spit and wiped her hand on her jeans, “I hope it was good things...he knows too much about me.”
Taehyung let out a small laugh and nodded his head, “It was all good things which is why I wanted to meet you.”
“I’m nothing special.”
He shook his head and gently tapped the middle of her forehead causing her to blink in confusion, “You are special. Don’t forget that.”
She felt her face warm and a small smile formed, “The only special one here is you, Kim Taehyung.”
“I see you as someone special, L/N Y/N.”
Asking her out was the hardest thing that Taehyung encountered. He had never met someone that made him so nervous before. She was different but at the same time, she was something so familiar. They both liked to recreate their first date once in a while when they weren’t too busy with work. It was special for them.
Y/N was finishing up cleaning the kitchen when she heard a knock on the door. She raised her eyebrow in confusion, she wasn’t expecting anyone tonight. She walked towards the door and looked through the small hole.
“What the?”
She opened the door and tilted her head, “Jungkook?”
“I have a surprise for you.”
She glanced at the clock and then back at him, “It’s literally ten at night.”
“Trust me.”
She rolled her eyes and nodded her head, “Fine, you're lucky I like you.”
What she thought was going to be a quick surprise turned into an hour's drive. She fell asleep in the car as Jungkook held in his laugh when he saw the drool going down her face. He gently shook her and she let out a small groan, “We’re here.”
She rubbed her eyes and looked around with a confused look, “Are we near the mountains?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh my god, are you killing me?”
Jungkook gave her a confused look and shook his head, “What? No, why would you think that?”
“It’s night time and we’re by the mountains where no one can hear me scream.”
“Fair…Taehyung is waiting for you by the entrance.”
She raised her eyebrow at this and glanced through the glass, “He’s waiting for me?”
“Yeah, hurry up.”
She walked towards the entrance and raised her eyebrow when she saw Taehyung leaning against the entrance sign, “Tae?”
He immediately stood up straight and gave her a boxy smile, “Y-Your here?”
“Yes?”
“He was supposed to text me…never mind that.” He leaned down and took something behind the sign. Her eyes widened at the bright roses and her mouth dropped, “Tae?”
“You said you always wanted red roses and to watch the stars.”
she glanced at the roses and then at him, “I did…you remember that?”
“I always remember what you say.”
She took the roses and smiled at them, “What does this mean?”
“I want you to be my shooting star. Will you be my star?”
It was the start of something but Y/N never thought Taehyung would see her as more. Now after four years, she’s become more confident with herself and her career. It took a long time but here she was standing strong with a smile on her face and the love of her life supporting her.
Taehyung opened the door for her and the smell of food hit her with full force. She turned towards Taehyung pulling her mask down, “I’m so excited for this. You have no idea.”
He chuckled at this and gently tapped the middle of her forehead, “It’s because you didn’t eat all day.”
She pouted at this and pulled her mask up, “Leave me alone. Let’s go eat.”
“Drinking coffee isn’t food, Y/N.”
“Then feeeeddd mee.”

Taehyung was in his studio typing away when the door opened. He leaned back in his chair and raised his eyebrow when he saw Jungkook panting heavily, “What happened to you?”
“Jaehyun told me something interesting.”
“How does that involve me?”
Jungkook rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone from his pocket. Taehyung continued to watch him with confused eyes, It’s eight in the morning? What could happen this early? He was met with a bright screen and he squinted his eyes at the screen to read whatever it was; NCT Jaehyun stars in a new drama with L/N Y/N. Human Touch is the highly anticipated show after the Webtoon finished in January causing fans to demand a drama. The director said it will come out somewhere between November or December making it the perfect drama for fall or winter.
Taehyung smiled at this and looked up at Jungkook, “That’s exciting.”
“I know, Jae said it took a while for SM to accept it but he was glad he got it.”
“Did he read the comic?”
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders and put his phone back in his pocket, “He said he always wanted to work with Y/N. He really admires her.”
He raised his eyebrow at this but quickly shook the uneasiness, “I’m excited for Y/N. She didn’t think she would get the part.”
“I can’t wait to watch Noona on the screen.”
“CUT! You did a good job L/N!”
Y/N smiled at this and bowed at the director. It was another day that she had to film a commercial for a lip product that turned into a photoshoot and shoot. Two for one deal. Her manager walked towards her with a smile, “I have big news.”
Y/N took a sip of her water and raised her eyebrow, “Oh?”
“Jaehyun is officially part of the cast.”
Y/N’s eyes widened at this and she placed her water on the table, “Really? That’s great. I feel like he would play the role so well.”
“With your help, SM finally accepted it.”
“That’s really exciting.” She felt her phone vibrant in her pocket and she took it out. She smiled when she saw it was Taehyung texting her, I saw the article. I’m so proud of you, love.
“There’s going to be a quick meeting regarding the drama at four this evening.”
Y/N put her phone back in her pocket and nodded at her manager, “Okay, is it with the full case? That’s really fast.”
“The director wants to meet with the two leads, that’s it.”
Y/N nodded her head and glanced at the director for her photoshoot, “I don’t have a problem. I think we're done taking the pictures.”
“I’ll go speak to the director. You wait here.”
She watched her manager go towards the director when she felt another buzz in her pocket. She took her phone out and let out a small laugh when she read the text, Why haven’t you messaged me back? :(
I’m sorry, I was talking to my manager. I’m going to meet Jaehyun today with the director. I’m really excited to meet with him, I begged for the director to get him on this project after watching his audition tape.
Oh? You asked for him?
It was between Jaehyun and Kyung-soo.
Those are good choices...Are we still up for tonight?
Of course, we are!
Taehyung placed his phone on his desk as he stared at his computer screen. She asked for him specifically? Why do I feel weird about this? He shook his head and sat up straight in his computer chair, “It’s probably nothing.”
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
She opened the door to see Taehyung on the couch sitting with Yeontan. She raised her eyebrow at this and pouted, “Tae.”
He turned his head and smiled at her from the couch, “Hey baby.”
This was weird. He usually waited by the door for her but she shrugged her shoulders and set her stuff in their right places, “You didn’t pick up when I called.”
“Sorry, I just got out of a meeting. I didn’t look at my phone.”
That was weird, part two. He always checked his phone but she let it slide because she knew he was busy with his music. She nodded her head and walked towards him with her slippers echoing through the apartment. She sat next to him and leaned her head against his arm, “The meeting went well. Jaehyun is perfect for this role.”
Taehyung nodded his head and kissed the top of her head, “I’m happy for you. What do you want for dinner?”
“Oh, Jaehyun bought me some food after the meeting. I’m okay.”
Taehyung nodded his head but he had a sharp look that Y/N didn’t notice, “What did he get you?”
“He got me japchae and yook hwei.”
How did he know that was her favorite? “Oh, that’s your favorite. That’s good he got that for you.”
“It was really sweet of him to do that. He wanted to show he was grateful for me.”
Taehyung swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded his head, “For?”
“Basically telling SM to give him this role. It wasn’t easy but we won at the end of the day. I’m just glad the show is going to be so good with him on the team.”
Why is she so excited for him? “I’m glad...”
Act II [ Green Eyed]
‘There is no greater glory than love, nor any greater punishment than jealousy.’ - Lope De Vega
“Baek-hyeon, I-I-”
He rolled his eyes and turned towards Aera with an annoyed look, “You don’t believe in me? Why?”
Aera shook her head at this, “I do believe in you-”
“Then act like it.”
Aera took a step back and looked away from him. She couldn’t see the anger in his eyes, “I’m just scared for you. It’s dangerous for you.”
“I’m a detective. This is what I do.”
“CUT!”
Y/N turned towards the director and pouted, “What’s wrong?”
“The lighting made a glare in the lens. We need to re-do the scene.”
Y/N nodded her head and turned towards Jaehyun with a smile, “You did really well. I think you need to be more assertive when you say I’m a detective. It would sound better.”
“You think so? I don’t want them to hate him.”
“His personality is arrogant and he’s somewhat cold. It’s going to show good character development later on.”
Jaehyun nodded his head at her and put his fingers under his chin, “Ah, I see. I’ll make notes. Thanks.”
She watched him go to his chair as she went towards her dressing room. Even though this morning was productive, it wasn’t a good one. Taehyung left without saying goodbye to her but he texted her saying he had a surprise morning meeting. He always said goodbye to her, no matter what.
She sat in her dressing room and clicked on the person she wanted to FaceTime with, “Hey you.”
Kim Sejeong repositioned her camera and waved at her, “Hey, how’s filming?”
Y/N leaned back in her chair and smiled, “It was good. We got half of the first episode done.”
Sejeong raised her eyebrow at her tone, “What’s wrong?”
Y/N sighed and shook her head, “I think I’m overthinking.”
“You tend to do that. What’s wrong?”
“Taehyung, he didn’t say goodbye to me this morning. He always kisses the top of my head but he didn’t do it this time.”
“Did he text you?”
Y/N pouted and nodded her head, “He did…you think I’m overthinking?”
“It depends. What did the text say?”
“Sorry, I didn’t kiss you. I had a surprise meeting.”
Sejeong raised her eyebrow at this, “Is that all he said?”
“Yeah, he didn’t send his usual heart emoji to me.”
“Maybe he’s busy. It was a surprise meeting.”
Y/N nodded her head, “Maybe. The past two weeks have been crazy. I’ve been filming non-stop and it feels like I barely see him.”
“Try and squeeze him in there. Tell him you love him more.”
There was a knock on the door and she glanced at the dark wood, “Y/N, the director is ready.”
She glanced back at her phone and waved at Sejeong, “I gotta go. I’ll talk to you later.”
“Talk to you later. Fighting!”
Taehyung sat in the practice room with a blank expression. Y/N has been so busy with filming that she’s barely had time with her. He understood but she was spending so much time with Jaehyun that he was becoming a second thought. He knows how it is, filming and all that. Logically he understands but emotionally he doesn’t. That was the frustrating part. He knew it was stupid to feel like this but he couldn’t help it.
The door opened and Jimin raised his eyebrow to see Taehyung sitting on the ground. He set his stuff on the floor and made his way to him. Taehyung was in such deep thought that he didn’t even notice Jimin sitting next to him.
“You good?”
Taehyung jumped and turned to see Jimin’s concerned eyes, “You scared me.”
“I didn’t mean to. You look like you got stuff on your mind.”
“I do.”
“You want to talk about it?”
Taehyung sat there for a minute and thought about it. If he told Jimin then he would suggest talking to Y/N and he really didn’t want to do that. He didn’t want Y/N to know how he was feeling because it was wrong for him to feel like that. She has never felt jealous with all the dating rumors he got with other girls. He couldn’t tell her that he was jealous because of this. It didn’t make sense to feel that way.
“No, it’s just something stupid.”
“You sure?”
“I’m sure. Don’t worry.”
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
Y/N and Taehyung were on a date and Y/N planned the whole day. After talking with Sejeong, she decided that on her next day off she was going to spend the whole day with Taehyung. She was going to do everything they like to do together today. It’s been about a month since they really had a date, a real date. They had quick lunches but she didn’t consider those to be dates,
She’s also noticed that Taehyung has been acting differently. At first, she thought she was overthinking but now she knew it wasn’t her mind playing games. There was something wrong with him. She kinda figured that it was because she wasn’t really talking to him or spending time with him. It was her fault that there was miscommunication and she wanted to say sorry for it.
They walked in the private park near their apartment and she planned to have a simple picnic. It was a nice day, the sun was out after a long week of rain. It was finally sunny, it was a sign from the universe to fix their problem.
They sat near the small pound and she took out all of the sandwiches that she made for the day. She sent the last drink and looked at him with a smile, “I made all your favorites. They ran out of your tea so I got the lemonade you like. Is that okay?”
Taehyung picked up a sandwich and nodded his head, “It’s fine.”
She smiled at this and looked across the pond, “It’s a nice day. I’m glad I get to spend the day with you.”
“I am too.”
She looked back at him and she frowned a little, “I’m sorry that I haven’t really been talking to you that much. I feel bad...I noticed that you haven’t really talked to me. I’m sorry that I only noticed until a couple of days ago.”
Taehyung stopped eating and stared at the pink blanket. I made her feel like this? It’s so stupid that I feel like this. It’s not worth making her sad. He put down the sandwich and looked at her with a small smile, “It’s my fault too. I have a phone, I know how to use it. Don’t apologize.”
She placed her hand on top of his and shook her head, “You always text me first. I should’ve texted you first. I wanted this date to be perfect.”
Taehyung gave her a small smile and leaned forward placing a quick kiss on her lips, “It is perfect.”
Right before she could say something, her phone buzzed. She picked her phone up and unlocked it to see Jaehyun texted her, I was wondering if tonight we can practice our lines together. I’m having a hard time with this upcoming scene
Of course, we can. Is it the ice skating scene?
Yeah, I don’t know how to express his feelings and I can’t land my lines
Don’t worry I’ll help you. Is seven good?
That’s perfect, thanks
No problem
Y/N put her phone back and she smiled at him, “I’m just glad I can spend time with you. I missed you.”
“Who was that?”
She raised her eyebrow and glanced at her phone then back at him, “It was just Jaehyun. He needed help with a scene.”
Taehyung felt his chest tighten. That was the second time that Jaehyun asked for help. He knew acting was hard but to ask for help constantly from her, that’s weird. Well to him. Logically it makes sense to ask for help but he didn’t want it to be her. He took a bit from his sandwich and nodded his head, “How’s it going with filming?”
Y/N took a sip of her lemonade and smiled, “It’s been so good. All the scenes look really good and I’m so excited for you to see the final product. I worked really hard.”
“I know you’ve been working hard. I’m proud of you.”
“Thank you, baby.
He tried his best to smile but it was really hard especially when his chest hurts, “How’s Jaehyun?”
“He’s been working really hard. This is his first real acting gig and he’s improving with each shoot. I knew he was the perfect choice.”
Perfect choice....”I’m glad..”
“Tae, are you okay?
“I am. Why?”
She tilted her head and frowned at him, “There’s something on your mind...I can tell. You can tell me anything.”
This has nothing to do with you...It’s my own dumb thoughts. He leaned towards her and placed a kiss on her forehead, “I’m just stressed about work. That’s all.”
“I’ll yell at Namjoon for making you work so much. You need a break.”
My brain needs a break from everything. “You need a break too, baby.”
“Let’s watch our anime today and just watch the clouds. That would be perfect.”
“It will be, love.”
They laid back and watched the romance anime that they started together. It was a cute anime, a simple school anime but nevertheless, they loved it. Taehyung glanced at Y/N who was snuggling up into his side. She was so beautiful, especially in moments like this. He turned his attention back to the screen and his smile disappeared. He watched the female lead kiss another guy for a play they were holding. He watched the male lead leave the stage and he couldn’t help but feel seen at that moment. It was silly to find an anime to resonate with you.

She sighed at the phone and tossed it onto her table. It’s been two months and Taehyung is acting worse now. He barely texted her and when they were in the same room he barely talked to her. She knew she was lacking on her half of the chorus and she knew that all her reasons were sounding like excuses now. She didn’t want Taehyung to feel like she was taking advantage of him. That was the last thing she wanted him to feel.
She walked out of her dressing room and entered the meeting room. She bowed to everyone and sat next to Jaehyun with a smile on her face, “Do you know what this meeting is for?”
Jaehyun shrugged his shoulders and took a sip of his water, “I heard it’s about a scene.”
“Scene?”
The director let out a small cough and smiled at everyone, “The next scene is going to be a tough one. Jaehyun, you will have a stunt double jumping off a building while it’s raining. The scene itself is Baek-hyeon and Aera’s first kiss. Aera will kiss Baek-hyeon out of panic for his safety but Baek-hyeon will not acknowledge it because he knows it was out of panic. This scene is going to show Aera finally accepting her feelings towards Baek-hyeon. Today let’s take a break and come back tomorrow for this scene.”
Y/N smiled at this and looked at Jaehyun, “Your first stunt double. That’s exciting.”
“It is. I like the story so far.”
“I do too. You want to get lunch?”
“Lunch sounds good.”
They stood up and bowed to everyone as they made their way out of the office. Jaehyun opened the door for her and they headed towards a restaurant right across their building. They talked about random things, Jaehyun told her about his solo album that he was working on but he had no idea when it was going to come out. She told him that after this drama, she is going to take a small break and focus on her personal life.
They sat together and clinked their beer bottles together, “Baek-hyeon!”
“Aera!~”
She let out a small laugh and took her phone out to send a text to Taehyung, I’m eating with Jaehyun! I’ll be home in an hour. I love you.
Be safe. Love u.
Taehyung stood in his bedroom and frowned at himself. This was the second dinner that Y/N missed. He knew it was his fault for not voicing his feelings but what was he supposed to say to her? “Stop hanging out with Jaehyun because I feel insecure.” That sounded ridiculous because he had no right to be insecure with their relationship. He had everything he could ask for. An apartment, a dog he loves, a girlfriend that he wants to marry someday, and a job that will help his family for the rest of his life. What more can he ask for?
He got up and decided to take a quick walk around the neighborhood. The fresh air can help him clear his mind. He put the leash on Yeontan and locked up his house. The walk was nice. There was a light wind that put him at ease and the smell of the flowers made him think of Y/N. It was truly relaxing.
Y/N let out a laugh and leaned back in her chair, “I would love to meet Mark. I think I would get along with him.”
“I think so too.”
She took the final sip of her beer and smiled, “I think I’m done for the night.”
“Let me get you a ride.”
Y/N shook her head and took her phone out, “I’ll do it. Don’t worry.”
“No, let me. I want to make sure you get home safe.”
“Fine, I’ll pay for your food next time.”
Jaehyun smiled at this and took his jacket off of his chair, “Perfect.”
Jaehyun waited for the car and opened the door for her and waved at her, “Have a good night. I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Thank you, Jae. Get home safely.”
“I will.”
Y/N leaned her head against the glass and let out a deep sigh. She was feeling better after going out and having fun. She didn’t think about her stress at home and was finally able to clear her mind. Maybe now she could tell Taehyung how much she missed him. She rushed her way into the building and she was so excited to see him that she didn’t notice her hair tie falling out of her hair. She opened the door and she smiled when she saw Taehyung in the living room holding Yeontan in his arms.
She rushed towards him and wrapped her arms around his waist causing him to jump at the sudden action. He set Yeontan down and turned around to see Y/N already looking at him, “Y/N?”
“I missed you.”
He smiled to himself and kissed the top of her head, “I missed you more.”
“I have the rest of the night off.”
“You want to relax?”
“Can we have a bath? We’ve been so busy and I just want to be in your arms.”
He felt warmth spread through his body and wrapped his arms around her waist, “I’ll hold you.”
Something within him changed and she felt his tight grip on her ass as he pushed her against the wall near the bathroom. He tasted the alcohol but he ignored it because all he saw was her, “T-Tae.”
She gasped against his lips but hearing her say his name made his mind blinded with the need of her. His grip only tightened as he ground his hips against hers, “Y/N.”
“C-Can’t we go to the bedroom?”
“No.” He muttered, lips moving down her neck with his teeth scraping over her collarbone, “I need you now.”
He dragged her back to the couch with his hands already ripping off her clothes as he pushed her down into the cushions. The look in his eyes was something that she missed. It’s been a while since they had sex. It was due to their crazy work schedule but that all changes tonight, “I missed you.”
He yanked off his shirt and smiled down at her, “Missed you more.” His hands traced every curve of her body, squeezing her thighs, and his rough fingers brushing over her nipples. He kissed down to her stomach and spread open her legs to get what he wanted. Her clit in his mouth, sucking on it like he was dying. The way he worked his tongue made sure she remembered what it was like to be with him.
He stood up and cussed under his breath, “Let me get a condom.”
“I-I’ll be here...”
She watched him leave and she couldn’t help but laugh. She propped herself up on the couch with her on all fours waiting for him. When he entered back, he couldn’t help the smirk appearing. He slid the condom on and rubbed her back, “Good girl.”
“Tae, I need you.”
He didn’t bother with responding and pushed himself into her. He felt her pussy clenched around his cock and he couldn’t help but let out a groan, “I’m the only one that makes you feel like this.”
“O-Only you.”
“It’s always going to be me.”
He let out another groan, sliding deeper into her. He missed this. Her in his arms and just loving each other. It was his fault but maybe the feelings will go away now that they're together. He looked down at her and seeing her whimper just made him feel his heart swell. He rubbed her hips gently as he continued to thrust into her. Her breath caught in her throat and a breathy gasp escaped.
She spasmed around him and she felt her body shiver at the feeling. Taehyung put two fingers in her mouth and she would never deny him. He brought the fingers down to her clit, making her back arched. He felt himself release into the condom and he leaned down kissing her neck. They pressed their forehead together and he kissed her lips, “I love you.”
“I love you more. So much more, Y/N.”
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
“Taehyung, are you going to watch me film?”
Taehyung smiled at her and nodded his head, “You watched me film for my music video. I need to do the same with you now.”
Y/N smiled and nodded her head as she put her jacket on, “I’m excited. It’s one of the final scenes.”
Taehyung put on his shoes and nodded his head, “Oh, what’s the scene?”
“Baek-hyeon and Aera kiss but they're not together yet. It’s just her realizing that she liked him.”
“You're going to kiss Jaehyun today?”
She turned towards him and nodded her head, “Yeah, it’s our first kissing scene and I’m hoping it’s a one-take.”
Taehyung nodded his head and ran his fingers through his hair, “I’m hoping that too...”
She raised her eyebrow and tilted her head, “What was that?”
“Nothing, just having a hard time putting my shoes on.”
They got into his car and he couldn’t focus on anything she was talking about. He kept picturing her kissing Jaehyun. He knew it was for a show but seeing her kiss Jaehyun was different. She wanted Jaehyun on this project and he couldn’t let that go. She was so excited for him to be on this, how was going to focus?
“Tae, are you okay?”
He parked the car and turned towards her with a small smile, “I’m okay. Are you ready?”
“Always.”
He sat in the background and he saw the chemistry that she had with Jaehyun. He felt his chest tighten when he saw Jaehyun pushing some hair back, touching her face gently. He watched Y/N wrap her arms around his neck and brought him into a kiss. The kiss was like their first kiss, shocking but passionate. He hated it.
“CUT! ONE MORE TAKE!”
This was going to kill him. He knows it. He leaned more into the chair and tried his best to ignore the kissing scene but he couldn’t help it. His eyes always moved up from his phone and watched Y/N kiss him. Over and over again.
It's been a rule, if you date an actor or actress you have to be strong. Especially when you see them kissing another for their new drama. Why is it so hard to be strong?
Final Act [ Don’t Leave Me Please ]
“Now my forever’s falling down’ - V, Sweet Night
It was the early morning, the streets were still empty as the sun gently entered the buildings waking everyone up from their deep sleep. Y/N slowly opened her eyes when she heard a cabinet close from the bathroom.
She quickly shook her head and picked up her phone to message Sejeong.
How is he?
She looked up from the text and stared at the wall with a hard look. It was a simple question that had a complex answer. An answer that she doesn’t have, which made things harder.
I don’t know...he hasn’t really talked to me since our conversation.
Give him some time.
Taehyung stared at the mirror with a hard look.
Taehyung has been like this for weeks now. Ever since the kiss, she knew something was really wrong. Not even his members could answer her and that’s what made everything so frustrating. No one knew what was wrong with him.
She was home now, filming was over with and she thought things would change but nothing. Taehyung was still acting like she wasn’t there. The next month would be when she would go overseas for the next episodes and she wouldn't see him. She needed to settle this now before things got worse.
Taehyung entered the kitchen and she sighed at his aura. She turned towards him with her arms crossed, “Tae, Jae invited us to his concert tonight. I was thinking-”
“I don’t want to go.”
Y/N frowned at this and shook her head at this, “Why? It would be a good date-”
“I just don’t want to go. You can have fun with Jaehyun.”
She rolled her eyes and took her breakfast, “Fine.”
He watched her leave the kitchen and he couldn’t help but feel like shit. He continued to make her upset but she was doing this for her. If he didn’t see Jaehyun then he wouldn’t feel the way he does. It would benefit the both of them but he couldn’t tell her this. He didn’t want to explain how he felt. It was hard for him to understand, he still didn’t understand how he felt or maybe he did but he didn’t want to voice it. He looked down at his food and felt sick to his stomach, he kept fucking up and he hated himself for that.
She ate in the living room and ignored him sitting next to her. She was just focusing on her phone and she texted Sejeong again. He doesn’t want to go to the concert with me.
Y/N...have you ever considered that he could be jealous?
What? Why would he be jealous?
Just think about it.
She glanced up from her phone and then at him, jealous? Why would Taehyung be jealous?
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
The concert was amazing, she was finally going to meet NCT and she was so excited to do so. She was upset that Taehyung wasn’t with her but she tried her best to ignore that. She walked towards backstage and waved her hand at Jaehyun with excitement. She gave him a friendly hug and patted his back, “You were amazing out there.”
“Thanks, Y/N, it means a lot. Did Taehyung not come?”
She frowned and shook her head, “He didn’t want to come.”
“I’m sorry Y/N. I thought this concert would bring you two together...not push you further apart.”
“What do you mean?”
Jaehyun let out a small chuckle and shook his head, “You don’t see it?”
“I don’t understand.”
“Y/N, Taehyung is jealous.”
She let out a small laugh and rolled her eyes, “He can’t be-”
“Why? Why can’t he feel jealous?”
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows at him, “He’s never jealous. I tried making him jealous before we started dating and he never showed me signs.”
“He probably was jealous and never showed you...I would be jealous if I saw my girlfriend kiss another guy in front of me.”
“But he knows this is my job.”
Jaehyun shook his head at this, “It doesn’t matter. You can’t stop the heart.”
Y/N looked down at the ground and then back at Jaehyun with a guilty face, “Oh my god...I noticed that he was acting differently but I always assumed it was because of me...I thought it was because I was working so much.”
“This is why you guys talk to each other. You can solve a lot of problems by talking.”
Y/N let out a frustrated groan and shook her head, “Shut up, I don’t need this right now. I’m going home to fix it.”
“Tell him I said hi.”
She ignored him and made her way out of the arena. She didn’t even realize how fast she was walking until she bumped into someone. She looked up to say sorry but her eyes widened when she saw who it was, “Taehyung?”
“I’m sorry I didn’t come with you. I was acting childish for not speaking up when something was wrong.”
She shook her head and wrapped her arms around his waist, “No, I’m stupid because I noticed something was wrong but I didn’t do anything to fix it.”
“No, I didn’t voice anything to you. I’m sorry I made you feel that way.”
She was about to disagree but Taehyung brought her into a kiss, a sweet quick kiss. He put their foreheads together and smiled, “I’ll tell you more when we get home but I just needed to kiss you.”
“I liked it...Jaehyun told me you were jealous. Before we go, can you tell me.”
Taehyung sighed and glanced at the wall with a guilty look, “Yeah...I was jealous. I’ll tell you more at home.”
She nodded her head and made their way to his car, hand in hand. For the first time, they didn’t care if they were seen. The car ride was quiet as he moved his way in and out of the busy streets. She sat down on their couch and she looked up at him with eyes that made him feel safe. He ran his fingers through his hair and turned back at her, “I talked to Yoongi...”
“Oh? When?”
“When you left...”
Taehyung sighed to himself as he sat back on his bed. He felt guilty but he couldn’t see Y/N cheer for Jaehyun. It was too much for him. He grabbed his phone and dialed the person that always helped him, “Hello?”
“Hyung, I need help.”
Yoongi sighed into his phone, “Is everything okay? Did you do something stupid again-”
“I’m jealous of Jaehyun.”
“Wait, you're jealous?”
Taehyung sighed and laid on the bed looking up at the ceiling with a blank face, “I’m jealous of seeing him with Y/N. It’s so stupid because I know it’s her job and all this-”
“Tae, you can’t control how you feel. It happens.”
“I never feel like this. I shouldn’t be jealous, I have everything I could ever ask for.”
Yoongi sighed again and Taehyung could imagine him shaking his head, “It doesn’t matter what you have, sometimes you can’t help it. It’s okay to feel like that but you have to tell Y/N. I’m going to guess you didn’t tell her.”
Taehyung rubbed his forehead roughly, “No...I was hiding it from her.”
“How long?”
“Four months....”
“Dude, you're stupid. Go talk to her, now. Before I go down there and cut your hair.”
Y/N let out a small laugh and shook her head, “I can see Yoongi say that...Taehyung, why didn’t you tell me?”
“I felt like it was stupid. You were never jealous of what I do and I felt like if I was jealous...it would show you I’m not strong enough.”
Y/N stood up from the couch and stood in front of him. She pushed some hair back and shook her head, “You're strong to me. It makes you stronger when you talk about your feelings.”
“I know that now...It was because you wanted Jaehyun on this project. You were so excited to be in this series that it made me feel...it made me feel jealous that you wanted him. I thought it was because you had feelings for him or something. It’s stupid.”
“Stop saying that, it’s not stupid. It’s how you feel. I wanted Jaehyun because he wanted me to help him with his acting. I also saw how well he acted in his tape and it would be stupid of me to deny him. I’m sorry I made you feel that way.”
“I just wanted to show you that I’m supportive.”
“I already knew that, Tae.”
She leaned up and gave him a quick kiss. He smiled at her and leaned his forehead against hers, “I asked for the next couple of months off so I could go with you to film.”
“Really!?”
He nodded his head and kissed the tip of her nose, “I’ll show you how I’m the supportive boyfriend. Even if I’m jealous sometimes...”
She let out a small laugh and shook her head, “My little jelly bean.”
He rolled his eyes and pushed some hair back, “Please don’t leave me.”
“I would never leave you...ever.”

Tumblr media
Y/N put her earring in when the dressing room door opened. She turned around and smiled, “You look great.”
Taehyung fixed his tie and smirked at her. He slowly walked up to her and one finger trailed from her cleavage to her chin, “I could say the same.”
She was wearing a black sequin dress that showed off her curves perfectly. Taehyung always went weak when she had bright red lipstick, it made him want to eat her out right there. Y/N pulled his tie to give him a quick kiss, “Are you going to be jealous tonight? You're going to see me kiss Jaehyun on the big screen.”
“Keep teasing me like that and I’ll make the press write an interesting story.”
“What do you mean?”
“Why is Y/N limping?”
She felt her face get hot and she smacked his chest, “You're so annoying.”
“But I’m yours.”
She let out a small laugh and wrapped her arms around his shoulder, “You're all mine. Forever.” As she said this, her ring shined under the dim dressing room light. The press was going to have a field day with that but they didn’t care. This was their universe and we were just living in it.

Tumblr media
Rainy season has touched South Korea, although many people hated rain Kim Taehyung was not one of them. And it was for variants of reasons.
One of those reasons being her. That woman.
He unintentionally looked at the door as if his eyes were waiting for her. The longing of seeing her was so much that he started hallucinating her standing at door, all drenched, her outfit clearly showing cleavage and her palm all bloody - wait! What?!.
Taehyung snapped out of his imagination while he saw you standing there in real. He quickly got up after he realised that you were crying for help. The junior officer, Choi Yeonjun who was standing beside can't help but cringe. You were coming into police station regularly since two weeks.
And even a blind person can figure out you were in love with officer Kim. He just saw you as a silly girl who was begging for attention. People will say he's too harsh but looking at you clinging on officer Kim like your life depends on it, he was sure.
Taehyung doesn't know what to do, you were crying - probably fake. He knows you by now. And complaining about some unknown person who harmed you. Him being a gentleman gave you a handkerchief and told you to sit on the other side to write a report. Thankfully Yeonjun was already out when hugged him.
He saw your obvious pout after pulling out of hug.
"So, did you see their faces?" Taehyung asked the question even after being sure that this was self harm.
"Won't you ask me how I am?!!" You asked in slight anger tone.
"My palm has been cut open!!" It was not that big but you wanted to see worry or love or whatever it is in his eyes.
Taehyung massaged his head, loudly breathing through his nose. He remembered the night he met you - some goons had attacked you. You were lucky that he was nearby. He fought with them in his regular black tshirt with leather jacket. It was raining so it went all slow motion for you. Your knight in shining armor was nothing less compared to heroes in films.
He lend you his jacket to make you feel more safe. And there were butterflies in your stomach as he made such move. You asked for cleaning his little wounds to touch him, feel his muscles and he thought you were just being kind.
After that night you visited the police station as he told you he works there. You brought him luxurious gifts just simply on the name of being saved. Only if he knew you already gone for him.
He thought it was cute. After that day, she seemed to be everywhere—offering him homemade cookies, dropping by the precinct with lunch, giving him luxurious gifts here and there even if he refused.
You were quite flirty as well but what began as harmless flirtation quickly escalated into something much more unnerving. Every day, you found new ways to insert yourself into his life.
Like - right now you were being pain in the ass. Solely focusing on does he care about her - not even caring about her wounds.
"You need to back off , YN!" Taehyung told you, his voice tight with frustration.
You were silenced by his serious tone.
“This isn’t cute anymore. It’s not a game. Stay away from me.”
But You weren't deterred.
“Taehyung, you don’t mean that,” you said as your voice soft and coaxing, as if you could soothe away his anger with just a few words. You reached out to touch his hand, but he jerked away, his patience at its breaking point.
You were upset not with him but with yourself. You being a rich brat was always given what you wanted. So you were determined to get him to love you.
But now you understood that love can't be forced even after trying so many times you failed to gain his love. You can't always win anything even with money sometimes.
You stood up and left the police station. Your hand was taken care by him while you were expressing your agony.
It's been awhile, taehyung hadn't seen you. Who was he kidding tho it was just second day of you not visiting him.
Taehyung couldn't believe you didn't come the other day after argument. He thought you will enter with your sunshine smile and homemade cookies in your hand, flirting with him by openly calling him baby and talking dirty just to make him blush.
On the first day of your disappearance, he was astonished not founding you by his office door with some notorious idea to see him but he became busy to stop the feeling, the feeling of loneliness. He was surrounded by people but at the same time he wasn't. It was like you had his identity, and that somehow made him happy.
The second day was normal for everyone but not Taehyung, not him.
At first, it was just a flicker of curiosity. He wondered where were you, what were you doing, why the heck you had finally listened to him. But as the day turned into night, that curiosity grew into something more—a strange, burning need to see you again.
The rain wasn't stopping and for the first time he felt like hating the rain for the first time. It can't be right?! He promised himself to be rain lover all his life.
He began to replay your encounters in his mind, each memory sharpened by the absence of your chaotic energy.
And then, the dreams started. Dreams where you was the one pulling away, where he was the one chasing you, begging for your attention. Each time he woke, his heart pounded in his chest, his sheets twisted and damp with sweat and maybe some white substance. He hated the way you had wormed your way into his thoughts, but he couldn’t stop it. The more he tried to push you away, the more you consumed him.
Soon, Taehyung found himself driving by your apartment, lingering outside the places you used to wait for him, hoping for a glimpse of the woman he had once been so desperate to escape.
The tables had turned, and now, it was Taehyung who was haunted by the obsession that had once belonged to her.
But except it wasn't just a normal obsession, it was intense. Seems like you didn't know about officer Kim Taehyung at all.

It’s a lovely spring morning; the trees are green, and the flowers are beginning to bloom. The sun is out and the air is fresh. You have one of the most beautiful views in the city outside your office, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the new growth and warm weather. You’re relaxing into your seat, basking in it…that is, until the elevator down the hall stops on your floor, and you know exactly who's about to step off. You type out your usual frantic message to everyone in their office cubicles in the expanse between the elevators and his office, which you sit directly outside of, and hit send.
Y/n: Satan is entering the gates of hell
Everyone rushes frantically back to their desks. Hushed whispers sound across the void, filling the atmosphere with nervous energy. The elevator dings and silence is instant. You watch as your boss struts along, ignoring everyone else’s presence entirely.
“Good morning, sir,” you remark with a polite smile as soon as he reaches your desk, to which he strides past you, straight into his office. Resisting the urge to make a sarcastic remark, you focus back on your work, but your irritation grows towards him. Your patience is already thin this morning.
Discreetly, you glance in his direction, noting the way he sits behind his desk, leaning back in his chair, leg crossed casually over the other, and flipping through document pages with an arrogance you can see, even from here. You absolutely hate how good-looking he is. Why does someone so infuriating get to look like that? It somehow makes his whole attitude even worse.
His low voice calling your name snaps your attention. "Get in here."
Sliding your chair out from under your desk, you follow orders.
“Yes, Mr Kim, ” you respond, standing with hands clasped in front of you. Your posture and all-black attire, particularly the skirt, were requested by him.
“Where was my usual tea this morning?” he asks, eyes unwavering from the pages he's absorbed in.
“The shop was closed this morning, sir, and I thought it best not to go to the other one, as you told me their tea 'looks and tastes like noodle soup.'” Your heart races with annoyance, as you chew the inside of your lip, attempting to hold back any smart-arse remarks.
I’ll tell you where I’d like to put your tea, sir, I’d shove it right up your-
“Then, what is this?” He points to the mug you left on his desk in replacement, a look of disdain twisting his face.
“That’s the tea I made for you, Sir.”
His eyes meet yours for a second with a hard stare. “Right, well next time, how about...don’t.”
Your teeth clamp together, jaw tensing as you struggle to bite back your retort, instead opting to take the tea and down it right in front of him. The hot liquid burns your throat as it slides down uncomfortably, and you carefully place the mug back on his desk, wiping the corners of your mouth with your fingertips.
"Is that better, sir?" You smile sweetly, but it’s written all over his face that he knows it’s not genuine judging by the glare he throws your way.
Your stomach somersaults nervously, worrying you've gone too far before his eyes fall back down to his paper.
“I have an unscheduled meeting in twenty minutes, it’s important, so make sure I am not disturbed by anyone. Are we clear?” He meets your eyes again, the intimidating aura he radiates hitting you fiercely.
“Y-yes, Mr Kim. Should I delay the ten o’clock meeting then?”
“You’re a smart girl; figure it out.”
He looks back down at his work, seeming bored of your presence, but you stand there aghast as to what you can reply to that without getting fired.
“Get out.” He waves a hand, dismissing you.
"Right away, sir." You bow dramatically before leaving and closing the door, forcing yourself not to slam it and wishing you could go and scream into a pillow.
Mr Kim Taehyung can kiss your arse.
Sitting back down at your desk, searching for anything to get your mind off the frustratingly rude man, when your mobile phone rings, surprising you. Even more so when you see it's your mum.
"Yes, mama, I'll be down this weekend," you say quietly into your phone once you're finally able to get a word in. Keeping your voice low to avoid your slave driver of a boss hearing your personal call.
Your mother’s squeal makes you giggle. "Like I'd miss my parents’ thirtieth wedding anniversary celebration."
"How long are you staying for this time? It's been too long since I've seen my baby!" she stresses.
You can't help the smile that tugs at your mouth. "I know, mama, I'm still working on that."
"You need to tell that boss of yours that enough is enough before he ends up working you to the bone!" Her disapproving tone makes you feel at home.
You see Mr Kim heading your way, "Hmm-mmm, listen, ma, I've got to go; I'll see you this weekend. Love you." You hang up abruptly and get straight back to typing.
"Personal calls should be taken at personal times," he says firmly, heading off down the hall.
Heat flashes up your chest, and your attempt to bite down a retort wavers, "That would mean me being allowed a personal life, sir, " you call after him.
His steps falter for a brief moment before continuing on with not another word or so much as a glance in your direction.
You swallow and let out the breath you didn't realise you'd been holding, envisioning hurling your phone at the back of his head. I wonder how hard I'd have to throw it to knock him unconscious or to at least give him a concussion.
Taking a long breath and trying not to grind your teeth, something that has become a habit lately and focusing back on your workload.
A short while later, Mr Kim is sitting in his unscheduled “important” meeting, meaning you could blissfully get on with paperwork without interruption. However, glancing up from your computer, you notice how tense and somewhat uncomfortable Mr Kim looks, something most uncharacteristic of him. So it does not surprise you when your work phone vibrates loudly at your desk. Looking down, you see the message "Save me," sent from him, your usual code system to get him out of something he really doesn't want to be part of anymore.
Getting up from your desk and striding across the space, you knock quietly on the door before entering.
"Sir, you have an urgent call on--"
"Ah, here she is," Mr Kim beams at you, a sight that is not only shocking because of how rare it is but also how breathtakingly gorgeous his smile is. You stand there frozen in your spot, unsure what has caused this sudden change in his mood. "No need to stand on ceremony, sweetheart; Mr. Jung is well aware of our upcoming nuptials."
You stare at him blankly, wondering if he's perhaps having some kind of stroke and considering whether or not you should call an ambulance. He comes over to your rooted feet by the door, and before you can say anything, his arm winds around your waist and guides you over to his desk. You're hyper-aware of his hand on you in such an intimate manner and it infuriates you, boiling your blood liquid hot in your veins. It feels like everything's moving in slow motion while you attempt to piece together all the chaotic thoughts happening in your mind, but nothing makes any sense.
Upcoming nuptials? Hell would have to freeze over more than once for you to be hitched to a man as rage-inducing as him. In fact, you'd rather be a miserable, shrivelled-up spinster living with a household full of cats than walk down an aisle where he's waiting for you.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, and please, call me Hoseok." Mr Jung stands up and shakes your hand, offering you a dazzling grin. You don't fail to notice his suspicious gaze raking over you and your boss. "So, a wedding, that sure is exciting, huh?" he asks you, raising an eyebrow as he waits for your response.
You feel Mr Kim's hand dig into your waist, sparking you to say, "Yes, very. Who doesn't love a wedding?"
Hoseok laughs. "It's true, they are such joyous occasions. Are you prepared? Is everything set, I mean?"
Before you can say anything, you hear your boss's baritone voice beside you, sending vibrations through your body and muddling your mind even more. "There are still a few things here and there to take care of, but I have faith it will all be done in time."
"Perfect." The man smiles at you. "So your families know about this wedding?"
Hell, I didn't even know about it, so they definitely don't.
"I don't have any family; both my parents died years ago, no siblings or grandparents alive," Mr Kim admits, voice impassive. You can't help but be surprised by this new piece of information. You’re unsure if that was true or part of his weird ruse, but your heart tugs a little at imagining someone not having anyone, even someone as vile as him.
"Oh, I am sorry," Hoseok offers, "and what about your family?" He aims at you.
"We were planning on telling her family this weekend," Mr Kim interjects. “It's her parents' wedding anniversary, so we thought we'd go up there for the bank holiday and surprise them, didn't we, sweetheart?"
You clench your teeth together to stop your mouth from popping open in shock. He squeezes you closer to his side, a movement that has you tensing your jaw in an attempt to keep the searing in your veins down to a minimum.
"Yes, yes, we are," you add, forcing a smile.
"So what happens now?" Mr Kim asks.
You glance up at him, then at Hoseok, who seems to be scrutinising your every move. You resist the urge to squirm uncomfortably in Mr Kim's grasp.
"Well, you'll both have to come in for an interview at some point. Provided you both pass this stage and I deem this marriage legitimate then, we'll fill in the necessary paperwork, you'll no longer be deported and your new visa will be valid."
You no longer hear the words being said, everything becoming muffled and moving in slow motion. Deportation!? Legitimate marriage!? That's why he's made this up, so he can stay in the country.
You feel your stomach drop to your feet, heavy, yet threatening to shoot up and out of your mouth, decorating his office carpet.
"Great. Is there anything else you need from us, Mr Jung?"
He taps his chin and stares at you quizzically. "Just make sure neither of you are lying, then we'll have no problems. A fine and prison time is not to be looked at lightly."
What!? You laugh nervously. "People actually get sent to prison for that?"
He nods. "Sure, it happens all the time. You could face up to five years in prison and a two hundred and fifty thousand dollar fine, and yet people still think that they can trick us." He rolls his eyes and shakes his head. "Anyway, I'll be sending you both a letter about when and where your interview will occur, most likely in a few weeks, I look forward to seeing you both then."
You shake hands before he's gone and both of you are rooted to the spot, staring after him.
Soon enough, Mr Kim moves back around to his desk, flicking through his papers, his eyes focused as if nothing out of the ordinary has just happened.
You stand there frozen, waiting for some kind of explanation, and when nothing comes, you speak up, "Excuse me, sir, but what was that?"
He sighs as if bored by your presence and continues to focus on the files in front of him. "They were going to fire me once I got deported and give Mr Park my job."
You stare at him, wide-eyed and open-mouthed.
"Don't worry, we'll get married and get a quickie divorce. It will be over in no time."
You feel like your feet will surely collapse from the weight of this burden that has suddenly become yours. Without asking or consenting, you've ended up in a situation you're unsure how to deal with or get out of.
"Sir," you finally speak, breaking through your stunned silence and swallowing the burning you feel rising into your throat. "I cannot marry you."
Finally, he drops his papers and meets your panicked eyes. "Listen, you don't really have a choice; if you don't, I'll fire you and ensure that any new job you apply for will have zero interest in hiring you. I'll make something up so terrible you'll be blacklisted, and where will that leave you, after all the hard work you've put in during the last three years? Hmm?"
You stare into his cold, dark eyes and know there's no hint of a lie or an exaggeration in his words.
“All of those late nights runs to the grocery store for me, all the weekend calls and late night working will have been for nothing.”
You struggle to find the words, feeling your world crashing in on you and smothering you beyond belief. Feeling yourself being pushed against a rock and a mountain with nowhere to escape, when all your legs want to do is run.
You suck deep breaths into your lungs.
He would ruin your career and everything you've worked so hard for. In one fell swoop, your life would be over. For the last three years your job has been everything, not allowing an ounce of a social life; no holidays and no relationships, nothing has existed outside of your job.
Not to mention, how could you afford your apartment if you had no job? You'd have to move back home with your parents to small-town life...the thought made your stomach churn, that was more frightening than anything.
"If I do this, I'm taking a big risk here, so I'm going to need some assurances."
He smirks, sinking back into his chair and folding his arms across his chest. The material of his blazer stretched across his bicep muscles, giving him an even more intimidating edge.
"I wasn't aware you were in a position to make demands."
Your hands clench into fists at your sides, longing to make a connection to his perfectly chiselled jaw, as anger bubbles inside the deepest pit of hatred you have for this man.
"I could go to prison! You're not asking me to go on a business trip; you're asking me to marry you so you can stay in the country! So, you either give me what I want, or I quit here and now, and bye-bye, Mr Kim, hello, Mr Park." turning towards his office door, your face flushes with angry heat. Feeling brazen and reckless, two can play at this game and if you are going to do this, you are damn sure you're going to make it worth your while.
"Wait," he says quickly.
Glancing back, you watch the smugness on his features slowly die as he realises how serious you are. "What is it you want?"
"A promotion. Not a bullshit one you make up so I can continue assisting you either."
He sighs and massages his temples. "Ok, ok, fine. How about the head of a department?"
You've wanted that since you started at this company; ever since you were hired, that has been your focus and the only thing getting you through this role.
"Hm, which department?" You act coy, knowing there's only one answer you want to hear.
He rubs his face and groans, his cool, calm exterior well and truly forgotten. "Design. That's what you want, isn't it?"
Taken aback by how he could have known that you pause for a moment before composing yourself once again. "Yes. I want it in writing and signed by you."
"Fine."
You nod, feeling a triumphant bloom expand in your chest.
"Are we done here?" He asks.
"Ask me nicely."
His hands come down hard on the desk; an exasperated look withers his face. "What?"
"Ask me nicely to marry you."
His mouth pops open, closes, and opens again. His cheeks flush, and the sight makes you smile. Who would have thought something so simple would make him blush?
"That's ridiculous."
"Ok, goodbye, Mr Kim; I wish I could say nice knowing you." You turn and push his office door open.
"Alright," he calls. "Just….shut the door."
You can hear the pleading in his voice, knowing how desperate he is and wondering how much you should take advantage of that. You do as he says, step back into the room, and watch with unashamed amusement as he stands up and rounds his desk, closing the gap between you rather sheepishly.
He takes a deep breath as his eyes stay fixed on your blazer's lapels. "Will-"
"On one knee, please." You interrupt.
His cheeks darken as he prepares to argue, but he second-thinks as his eyes flit desperately between yours. He slowly sinks down onto the ground at your feet and plasters on a fake and yet still dazzling smile, "Will you, please, marry me?" he finally says, sarcasm dripping off of every word.
For a moment, you enjoy the sight of him on his knees in front of you, looking up through thick eyelashes, but your abhorrence of him stops your mind from going any further.
"Fine," you reply with a smirk as you walk out, leaving him staring at your back. If you are doing this for him, you sure as hell are going to make him pay for it.

don’t leave me.
Tumblr media
pairing: jungkook x fem!reader
genre: childhood friends to lovers, some angst, these bitches are bad at communicating, everybody is crying it’s a whole ass mess 😔, happy ending!!!
warnings: a couple f-words 😨
Tumblr media
you knock on jungkook’s door. to your surprise, jimin answers the door and smiles brightly, “hey, y/n! i’m glad you finally made it! we’re only halfway through the movie. you didn’t miss much, we can catch you up.” he whispered, as to not disrupt the movie the boys were watching.
this caught you off guard. you didn’t hear anything about movie plans. in fact, jungkook hasn’t spoken to you in weeks. that’s why you decided to come over without telling him. if you asked, he would’ve made some lame ass excuse about his apartment being messy or how tired he was. you frown briefly before fixing your face into a smile.
“thanks jimin! i appreciate that.” you whispered, searching the dark living room. lo and behold, there he was. in the flesh. jungkook hadn’t noticed you entering the living room as he asked who was at the door, eyes glued to the screen. as frustrated as you were with him, you couldn’t help but find his absolute focus to be endearing. his dark eyes wide and shiny with anticipation. “it’s y/n!”
as jungkook hears your name, he chokes on the popcorn he was eating. his head whips to you and jimin. your eyes boring into his, arms crossed. his eyes widen and he shifts uncomfortably, face growing hot as your stare intensified.
“h-hey y/n… how are you?” you scoff, smiling as fake as you possibly could. “im doing great, jungkook.” you cut the conversation off quickly as the two other boys started to feel the growing tension. jimin side eyed taehyung, who looked back at jimin with an uncomfortable look.
“umm… we have to go actually. we need to get… groceries.” and just like that, the two boys were gone. leaving you and jungkook on opposite sides of the couch. jungkook refuses to look at you. eyes staring into the screen, movie still playing. you grab the remote, and turn off the TV. jungkook looks at you, frowning.
“hey! i was watching that!” he pouts and you roll your eyes. “and i’m trying to talk to you? i’ve actually been trying for weeks!” you spit out, sounding more harsh than you wanted. jungkook suddenly cant bear to look at you anymore; his gaze quickly shifting away from you. you notice how the tips of his ears reddened. your eyes soften and you scoot closer to him.
“look, i didn’t mean to snap at you. i’m just…” you trail off, sighing. you can see he’s looking at you through his peripheral vision, “why aren’t you talk to me? lately you’ve been acting like you hardly know me. we’ve been best friends since we were in middle school! i know you better than anyone, but right now i can’t tell what’s bothering you. did i do something wrong?” he said nothing, no longer looking at you through his peripheral vision either. you stare at him in silence for a minute more before you get up and storm out without another word. in the back of your mind, you secretly hope he’s chasing after you. you get to your car and realize he’s not following after you, nor is he eager to give his explanation. suddenly, tears start pouring out of your eyes. unable to stop, you break down into a sobbing mess.
Tumblr media
it was the first day of middle school. lunch time. you usually sat at a table, away from the crowd. you were finishing up some homework when a soft voice caught your attention.
“c-could i sit with you..?” you look up, a boy with jet black hair that almost covered his eyes stood in front of you. he couldn’t look you in the eyes, and he was shifting his feet uncomfortably. you smile brightly and nod. “yeah of course! my name is y/n. what’s yours?” he responded, the tips of his ears turning bright red, “jungkook…”
and from that day on, you sat together at lunch everyday, for three whole years. even hanging out outside of class. studying, getting ice cream, listening to his singing. as you grew up, you got incredibly close. you knew all of each others secrets, fears, and even crushes. however, he stayed relatively shy. it wasn’t until you saw him with his six other best friends that you saw him unfold. this shy, bashful boy could be a giddy, laughing mess when he was around his friends. it was endearing watching his older friends help him blossom and grow.
when high school started, everything started changing. he went from your cute, baby-faced best friend and grew into a man. a very attractive man. you couldn’t lie, a crush started to form. and not just because of his looks. he was still respectful, kind, talented, and still so very shy. girls started paying attention to him, coyly giving him snacks and gifts.
one morning, you and jungkook are approached by a girl, “h-here you go, o-oppa… i got this for you…” she mumbled, looking at the group before running away. her friend group watching from afar, giggling loudly. you smirk and poke his arm, taking the item from his hand. it was some snack, one he absolutely hated. he was bright red with embarrassment shooing you away before you could tease him further.
“ohh~ jungkook oppa!~ please take this snack as a token of my love!” you dramatically handed him the snack, laughing at his reaction. “you’re the worst!” he groaned, before laughing.
Tumblr media
the memory made you laugh, wiping away any left over tears that were left on your face. however, the tears returned once you thought about where this left your friendship. maybe he knew that you had a crush on him. maybe he caught you staring too much during dance practices or just when you guys got to hang out. maybe he was so uncomfortable around you that he felt y’all couldn’t continue your friendship. tears fell onto your cheeks once more, lips quivering as you tried to hold them back. “why didn’t he just tell me upfront? maybe it would’ve hurt less…” you thought, tears falling rapidly as you start to fall apart once more.
meanwhile, jungkook was having his own crying session in his apartment. he definitely just fucked up your whole friendship all because he was in denial about his massive crush on you. why didn’t he just say something? “i’m so fucking stupid! she’s gone and will never want to talk to me again. you’re so fucking stupid, jungkook! fuck!” he sobbed, looking over at his wall seeing your smiling face plastered all over it. cringy middle school pictures you begged him to take down, you guys smilingly brightly when you graduated middle school and high school. pictures of you guys at the beach, before and after concerts, and at home.
he was absolutely, undoubtedly in love with you. he had pictures of you in his wallet, a candid polaroid of you eating ramen. he was absolutely whipped. he was so scared of rejection that he did everything in his mind to get rid of that silly crush. he didn’t want to jeopardize your friendship by confessing to you, so he avoided you at all costs. your phone calls, your texts, the funny tik toks you sent him. he even made excuses to not have you over. the thought of your heartbreak when he was avoiding you made his stomach hurt.
“i- i have to do something. i have to fix this.” he mumbled breathlessly, grabbing his keys and running out of his apartment. but there your car was. right where you always park it. he ran up to your window and knocked. you jolted up, seeing your best friend. you noticed his eyes and nose were bright red. had he been crying?
you open the car door, stumbling out frazzled. he had definitely been crying, and you know he could tell you had been crying. he started shakily, tears still welled up in his eyes. “i- you- i’m… sob i’m so fucking sorry, y/n. i’m so sorry. i don’t want to lose you. you mean so much to me. i’m not gonna let you go so easily. i love you. i fucking love you, y/n. i’ve been in love with you since middle school. i was so scared of losing you that i thought this was the best way to fix my problem. i’m so sorry. please forgive me. i love you so much.”
and just then, he kissed you. with all the love, passion, and adoration he could muster in his body, he kissed you. one hand on your waist, the other buried into your hair. you could feel the tears that fell from his eyes. you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him in closer, returning the kiss. it left you breathless, your body yearning for this for years. you kissed as if you were going to die tomorrow.
when you pulled away, you hugged him tighter than you ever had before. “i love you too, jungkook.”
the weight of the world had finally left your shoulders. you had your soulmate back. your lover, your partner-in-crime, your better half, your best friend, jungkook.

“give me your hands. i don’t care. give them to me.”
Tumblr media
at the edge of the city, where the thick blue haze of a late spring evening drapes over skyscrapers and bright company logos like a winter coat, kim taehyung kisses a pretty boy. he has a gorgeous laugh, and a slightly too-tight white shirt that rides up to reveal a sliver of hip above a black leather belt, and he's spent so long pressed against taehyung that he smells like him. the boy has the same deep constellation of dark gold freckles on the edge of his knuckles as taehyung does, but does not paint over them with makeup like taehyung.
"you're amazing," you whisper, eyes locked on his as he hovers above you, one hand on your chest and the other arm braced against the cool grass. the picnic blanket exists for a reason, but taehyung doesn't wish to move.
"thanks," he chuckles, tracing the outline of your jaw with a touch as light as air. it tickles. his smile glows in the moonlight. "i could kiss you forever."
"forever sounds like a long, long time. you think they'd find our bodies up here?" you ask.
he smiles and sits up, placing your head on his thigh. "no. this is our place. our secret. above the city, off a hiking trail on a ledge that might crack off and kill both of us without remorse..."
he plays with your hair. "i would jump off a cliff if it meant jumping off with you."
"that's dangerous talk, baby," you murmur, gazing up at him. "if both of us die, how are we supposed to be together?"
he loves with his whole body – he loves with tight muscles wound like springs, with giggles and whispers behind palms, with steady breaths turned wobbly from a glance.
"how do you know we won't be?" he retorts. his gaze flickers to the old wooden fence along one edge of the small clearing, overburdened with vines and wild berries. "if i have to be mentioned, i would like it to be in the same breath as your name. that way, we would be together forever. we come as a package."
you gaze up at him, all bright smiles and wondrous laughter, and catch his hand to place over your heart. "only you can make a vicious death full of shattered bones sound so romantic. wanna make out?"
"absolutely," taehyung replies breathlessly. "but if we do fall, don't let go of me. i won't let go of you. promise me."
artists love like death loves, and you seal the promise with a kiss.
"you know, taehyung-ah, you should bring that boy around," his mother suggests idly, reaching across the table to place another dinner roll on his plate. he accepts one, but she tries to give him another, and he protects his plate with an alarmed flash of his hand. she pushes the lightly-golden roll against his knuckles until he caves and she smiles victoriously.
"who?" taehyung ventures. beneath the dinner table, he rubs his palm against the crinkled acrylic smears of colour on his jeans.
"the one you're daydreaming about right now, of course," she says, so matter-of-fact that taehyung almost forgets to blush. she takes the bread taehyung's younger siblings are squabbling over and breaks it in two without so much as a blink. they quieten and she hums. "he's such a sweetheart. he picks you up every single day, honey, and he's not at all hard on the eyes – you must think so too, or you wouldn’t have painted him like that on your sketchbook. oh, what's his name, again?" she snaps her fingers. "yn! that's it, isn't it? the lovely boy with your freckles on his hand?"
she draws a circle on the side of her hand. taehyung places his under the table, away from her prying gaze, and sighs. "he's just a friend – seriously. you're reading into this way too much. so what if we have similar marks? don't tell me that i have to marry the girl at the grocery store with a freckle on her lip."
she waves her hands, dispelling his arguments like a cloud of cigarette smoke. "that's not the same, dear. you and that boy – when you get married, you come and tell me first, okay? i want to hear all about it!"
"eomma," he whines, "we are friends. please don't make this weird."
"and what should i tell our friends – that my handsome eldest son is an available bachelor? they'll be swarming us – swarming you – with their most compatible daughters, and you will have to tell them that you don't like girls two hundred times. can you keep the smile on your face for so long?"
he sighs, cracking open the bread roll with his knife and buttering its warm inner goodness. "i don't know."
"well, with that attitude, you'll be marrying their daughters in a week." here it comes. "you should really bring him to the party."
"eomma, i told you—"
"just as friends, then!" the inflection on friends twitches slightly, and taehyung wonders if she suspects. "you would look so handsome on his arm, taehyung-ah. i'll come suit-shopping with you – and your father, too, if he can find some time away from work."
he munches on the dinner roll sullenly, teeth ripping at the fluffy white bread and shredded meat. "i'm just arm-candy? smile and wave, let hyung do the talking for me?"
"you must admit, you'd do a fine job at it," she teases, and he scoffs a laugh. her voice softens. "i'm being serious, taehyung. you should bring him to meet us sometime – he's such a big part of your life, yet i haven't exchanged more than a single word with him. at least do your mother this one favour, honey?"
he sets down the stuffed bread, running his thumb over the edge of the scattered freckles. he purses his lips, a transparent play at annoyance.
"fine," he says, and his mother's face lights up. "on one condition. i won't pretend to date him, and i have no concerns about starting arguments regarding who i might marry."
"that's two conditions," she notes, "but all right. i can work with that. you tell that good-looking friend of yours to match his tie with your suit."
his brow furrows. "why can't my tie match his suit?"
"i look like a bitchy ken doll."
"don't be so negative, baby," you whisper in his ear, smiling at a passing elderly man. he strolls by on his walker and grins with missing teeth, lifting a wrinkled hand in a wave. you lean towards taehyung again. "you look stunning."
he rolls his eyes and hides a smile in your bicep, both hands hooked loosely over your forearm. "is that why you insisted on walking behind me?"
"oh, yeah. absolutely ravishing view."
"shameless," he murmurs, straightening up and loosening his grasp. he places them in the pockets of his slim, hot-pink trousers, casting a careless gaze over the sunny mixture of family and friends. your fingers graze the curls at the back of his neck and he knows you feel his shiver – that playful smirk tells it all.
instead of reprimanding you – as he has been for the last thirty minutes for dropping your gaze too low and staring at him lovingly from across the yard – he smiles and steps closer. he fixes the knot of your pink tie and smooths slender fingers over your notched lapels.
his tongue darts out over his lower lip, no more than a tease of rosy pink. his gaze flickers up through his lashes, his hands still on your chest.
"you clean up well," he hums, sliding his hands over your stomach and sides with the guise of smoothing the dark jacket. "but i think you look a thousand times more dashing in your leathers. that helmet, too – makes me surprisingly warm, given that i can't even see your face under the visor."
after a quick glance around, your easy grin drops once into something darker, heavier. you place a hand on the side of his ribs – not too low to be immediately romantic, but intimate all the same.
"really?" you say thoughtfully, though your gaze promises something far more exciting. you run a finger along the collar of his ribbed black turtleneck. "well, we've been here long enough. i'm sure we can get back before your mother notices us – we'll pretend i had a wardrobe malfunction."
taehyung nearly purrs and rakes his nails down the centre of your chest, catching on the buttons of your shirt. his breath is warm on your neck. "oh, after me, you won't have to pretend..."
"taehyung-ah, where are you? i want you to meet my daughters!"
you jump apart just as one of the family friends steps around the door to taehyung's bedroom. the woman glances between you, puzzlement flickering over her features, but taehyung gives her a dazzling smile, stepping away from you and hovering a hand over her shoulder blades.
"of course. i'll be right along with you."
he pauses in the doorway, glancing back with a meaningful eye-widening and a finger pressed to his lips. later, he mouths, before disappearing around the corner and down the stairs.
you sigh and lean against the windowsill, glancing out into the backyard below. taehyung, a sparkling hot-pink star, speaks to two sweet-looking girls while a carousel of children whoops and screams around his ankles. one grabs his belt with surprising speed and force and he keeps one hand gripping his belt ferociously as he pries the child's chubby fingers off.
you watch with a small smile as he bobs down to the boy's level, hands on his small shoulders. his expression is firm but gentle as his mouth moves, and the child slowly shakes his head. they pinky-promise, and taehyung lets him run back to his big sister.
"you're good with children," you comment the next time you find him, huddled away on the veranda with a can of coca-cola in one hand.
he turns with a growing smile. "you think so?"
"of course," you say, coming to stand next to him with your hands in your pockets. he crouches to watch a ladybug shuffle slowly across the step towards a flowering bush. you glance down at him, tilting your head to catch a glimpse of his face.
he's smiling, rather too broadly to be at a simple ladybug. shifting your weight onto the other foot, you rest against the rail and don't mention it, though your chest warms.
"i think my mother knows," taehyung says eventually. the last sliver of red disappears under a leaf and he brushes off his thighs as he stands.
"knows what?"
"about us," he clarifies, swirling his can of cola like a glass of wine. he taps the rim gently, gnawing on his bottom lip. "she always wants to meet you."
"she did, today," you hum. "she's really nice. i don't know why you didn't introduce her to me earlier – she practically glows when she talks about you."
"but she adores the whole 'soulmate' bullshit," he mutters, kicking a pebble with the tip of his glossy black shoe. "she'll obviously point out our hands and say that we were destined to be together."
your smile softens. you nudge his shoulder with your own. "we can always insist we're not dating. i'll go kiss a few people, you'll go kiss a few people, and voila."
"i don't want to kiss other people," he mumbles sulkily. "i wanna kiss you. besides, even if we kiss randoms and then tell everyone we're together, she'll just say 'i told you so' even louder."
he shakes his head and lifts the can to his lips. "i don't want everyone to think we're only dating because we're 'soulmates'." he crooks his fingers in air quotations. "love is a lot more than finding the other end of the red string. it's hard. it's a choice. i can keep loving you, for years and years and years, because i choose to keep going and work things out, but i can't do the same with infatuation – because what do you do when the puppy love fades and the arguments get sharper? stop loving them? break up? be sad forever because your soulmate eats like a camel and you can't stand it anymore? the idea of soulmates is an obstructive crutch."
your arm snakes around his shoulders. he sighs heavily against you, curling into your shoulder. "do you feel better, now?"
he nods, dark-chocolate curls nudging your chin.
"are you talking about me?" you tease. "do i eat like a camel?"
he exhales softly. "no... you have good table manners." his mouth twists. "eomma would love that about you."
the suburban streets are peaceful. the occasional car pulls out of a driveway. someone in shorts and sandals drags their bins up the side of their house.
he hums and stands on his own. your hand slips down to his waist. "thanks for listening to my monologue. you must think i'm crazy, ranting about love like i've lived an entire life full of it."
"you have." you laugh gently at his startled look. "eighteen years is an entire life. your entire life – up to this very second. i don't know about you, but i've been hopelessly in love with you since we were kids."
shyly, he runs his thumb over the cold rim of the can. "i love being in love with you," he whispers, finally glancing up. "is that a weird thing to say? i'm sorry. y'know, seeing you at school, playing soccer and rugby and running track or whatever else... i wondered, sometimes, if i had it all backwards. really – i don't like running. i hate being tackled. why would a greater being put us together when we barely have anything in common?"
it takes a while for you to respond. "we don't. not anymore. but i broke my green crayon and you let me borrow yours, and i still love you for it. you didn't know who i was – i could've broken yours as well, but you still lent it to me."
"you're over-analysing it," he says, but the words are thick in his throat with emotion. he leans into your warmth as a breeze wafts by, placing his can on the railing. "i was four and always taught to share my things."
"i'm happy that you were the one who happened to have a spare." you smile, but it's almost a wince. "ouch. i'm starting to sound like your parents, huh?"
"it's okay, hyung. it... almost sounds good when it comes from you."
his eyes are liquid gold in the sunset. his lips are strawberry clouds. he grabs your lapels and tugs you in – you melt like sugar at the warm sticky sweetness of him, and the summer heat wraps around your bodies as he pulls at his turtleneck.
"it's so hot in this," he murmurs, tilting his head to the side and loosing a content sigh as your lips trail up to his earlobe. "can we go, please? we'll go to our spot. they won't notice – they've got ten sugar-fuelled children to chase after."
"can i change your mind?" you end your journey at his lips. he hums, fingers hooked in your belt loops. "baby, you can't keep running forever. do you ever want to introduce me to your parents properly? because, yeah, i'll go rock climbing with you, but i also want to kiss you when we reach the top, and you've always said you hate having to hide it. hide us. why don't we just... show them? who cares what they think?"
"'who cares', hyung...?" he turns his temple into yours, closing his eyes. "i want them to know we're more than some stupid matching freckles. i don't want a novelty soulmate relationship where the only thing people talk about is the proof of compatibility. i want people to see us, and i want them to know that i'd love you just as deeply without these marks."
you cup his cheek and he kisses the softness of your palm, pushing into it. "they will, taehyung. i promise – they'll see us and jealousy will grab them by the throat. i swear it."
taehyung lifts his pinky. you grin and hook yours around his, shaking on it with great gravitas.
he inhales deeply and holds out his hands, palms up. he shakes them impatiently. "come on, then – give me your hands. i don't care. give them to me."
you slide your hands into his and he squeezes them, lips tightening with resolute determination. he presses a kiss to your cheek.
"they'll know who we are," he whispers, "and what we are. they'll know our names and how they fit perfectly together – all in the same breath."
you laugh softly, swinging your hands between your bodies. the identical freckles seem to shimmer but all you can think about is the soft, saccharine taste of his lips. he grins, too, reckless and bright. "don't let go of me."
"i won't let go of you," he promises, and the sweet ring of it against the glass echoes deep in the lava-white bones of your souls.

summary: you finally talk to jimin at the charity ball
word count: 1859
genre: bestfriend!jimin, college!au, bestfriends to lovers!au - fluff/angst
For the first time in years, Christmas was something you were looking forward to, and everyone was surprised to see you participating in the off-key caroling of Christmas songs with everyone. Normally, you would watch everyone decorate the tree as you sneak into the kitchen, eating the Christmas theme cookies, leaving none for Santa.
It was the first Christmas you would have with your father and Taehyung’s family ever since the passing of your mother. Though, your father still wanted to honor your mother, by hosting a charity ball on Christmas Eve, inviting everyone to spread Christmas cheer to each other.
People were free to donate gifts that would be given to the children at the orphanage and hospitals, and there was money being raised through some local performances which included Hobi’s dancing, Joon’s rapping, Yoongi’s piano solo, Jeongguk’s boxing, Taehyung’s stand up comedy and more. Jin helped the caterers by baking the peppermint cookies and some truffles. You had invited all their friends and families, bringing everyone you knew.
“Are you not doing anything?" Jin asked, standing next to up as you went to the bar to order some water. Unlike everyone else who was wearing a regular suit, Jin was wearing a black tuxedo with a bowtie that had candy canes on it. “Are we going to see you sing?”
“God no.” You laughed, grabbing the water from the counter. “If I did, we would not make any money for the kids.”
“I keep telling her that it is a shame that we do not get to hear her vocals tonight,” Taehyung joked, coming next to you. Your cousin was wearing a white suit with a glass of white wine in left his hand, trying to relax his nerves before his performance. His hair was slick back, looking like his father.
“Hey,” Tiffany greeted with a fake smile, not letting her mouth snap into a straight light. “I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, but did you guys invite Jimin?”
The smile on your face quickly faded, thinking you would have more time before you would have to see your best friend again.
“My parents might have because they obviously don’t know..” Taehyung’s voice trailed off.
“It’s okay,” you assured him, shrugging. “This is my first Christmas with my dad, and I am not going to let him or my feelings ruin that.”
“Well, how are you feeling?” Tiffany asked, a concerned look all over her face.
There were two words to describe everything happening all at once: confusing and overwhelming.
For a couple weeks, you had been basically grieving over the loss of your best friend, thinking he did not love you back, and that this whole relationship was one-sided. You gave yourself the time and distance from Jimin just so you weren’t reminded how he rested his head on yours when he wrapped his arms around you.
But after Jimin’s confession, there had been no time to process everything. It was the anniversary of your mother’s passing, and you were starting to rebuild a relationship with your father. You were distracted, and you wanted to keep it that way. You didn’t want to be alone in your thoughts, thinking about what you should do about the situation. “Fine.”
“You’re fine?” Taehyung’s eyebrow quirked up. He knows that you don’t show emotions besides the times you had grieved over your mother. But honestly, your cousin knew that if you severed your friendship with Jimin, it would be as big of a loss. “That’s it?”
You wanted to be fine.
It should not be a problem that you and your best friend have feelings for each other. The story could simply end happily ever after at that point. But you couldn’t understand how the boy that watched your mom’s favorite movie with you every year, lied about his feelings. How could he lie to you, knowing how much pain it caused? Why couldn’t he just pick you from the beginning? Did you really go through his mind when he chose someone else? Why now?
“Stop overthinking, you’re breaking your own heart,” Taehyung reminded you quietly, not letting anyone around you hear his comment. Even now at a complicated time, he was protecting your ego and taking care of you while being unbiased, and you were sure he did the same to Jimin. “Let’s get ready before the show starts.”
_____________
“Since it is running a little late, we are going to have Yoongi perform his sonatas. In the meantime, as we wrap up, we will be doing the gift exchange. Hopefully, you all drew and made your customized Christmas cards because those are important.” Your father laughs into the microphone as the audience gape at his announcement. “You all were given a number in the beginning, and you must find your missing match to exchange gifts and cards.”
“What number are you?” Tiffany asked, holding the number 57 in her right hand. In the background, you can hear Yoongi take a deep breath before starting, playing softly. “I hope it is not some loser like Jimin.”
“Tiffany!” You scolded, holding back a laugh. “You got to admit it that was funny,” Jin said causing Tiffany to nod her head in agreement. “I think Y/N’s Dad made sure our gifts and cards were going to be exchanged for the kids.”
“Where did you hear that?” Taehyung asked with a questionable look on his face, slightly raising one brow over the other. He looked down at his homemade card. It was a folded red paper with the front page having drawn an elf with green scribbly colored clothes with a text bubble with ‘Ho Ho Ho.’ Next to the elf, there was a poorly drawn old man which you assumed to be Santa, and the question, ‘Who are you calling a Ho?’ is above Santa’s red cap in a blue text bubble.
“You cannot give that to a kid.” You laughed and held up your simple white card to him that had a string of red and green Christmas ornaments with the text ‘Let’s hang at Christmas!’
“I think it will be fine,” he stated with a small look of worry on his face. “I have the number 5.”
“I have the number 7,” Jin and Hobi said simultaneously, then exchanging looks of excitement.
The two friends quickly exchanged boxes and cards, excited to see what had been inside the gift.
“Tae!” Taehyung’s younger sister screamed across the room loudly, letting everyone know who she was looking for. “Can you and Unnie look at the family group chat?!”
Looking over your shoulder, you see Taehyung pulling out his phone from the right back pocket of his pants. He unlocked his phone, clicking on his latest text notification.
[mom]: text us your number
[dad]: 7
“Oh you have the same number as my dad,” Tae mentioned to Tiffany. “They’re in the back somewhere.”
[brother]: 95
[sister]: 23
Your cousin texted your numbers to your family members. Right away, your aunt sent a reply.
[mom]: oh y/n, jimin has the same number as you! he just told us a couple of minutes ago that he was going to find you two!!
“There’s no fucking way, right?” You weren’t sure who Taehyung was asking. “Dude, the world must be against you or something.”
Tiffany flicked Tae’s head, making him wince and look at Tiffany with a confused look. She gave him an angry death glare. With his voice shaking, he said, “You know, Cousin, we can switch numbers.”
“Let’s be real, your mom probably somehow told him that me and him have the same number already.” You sighed. “There’s no use.”
You forced a smile, walking away, wanting to find your father before you had to exchange gifts. With a quick glance at the ballroom, you couldn’t find your father in the crowd of people up and rushing to others, trying to find their gifts. You get on the tip of your heels to get a better look, not wanting to go through the crowd and be accidentally pushed.
Across the room, Jimin was there, holding a white box in his hands, already staring at you with his dark brown eyes. Your heart dropped a bit, wondering how was it possible that the two of you would always find each other in a room full of strangers and chaotic noise.
The music stopped playing, and you could finally hear your cousin calling out your name.
“Wait.” Tiffany abruptly said. You knew they were behind you, but you didn’t dare look back. Without looking, you knew Tiffany was holding Taehyung’s wrist back, already seeing what was happening. “It’s the eye sex conversation talk again.”
Jimin took the first move, taking steps forward to go to you, not taking his eyes off yours. He was looking at you as if you were the only thing that mattered when the whole world was on fire. He was looking at you the way he always did, but more intensely.
When he’s finally in front of you, he released a sigh of relief, slightly giggling. “Hey.”
“Hey,” you whispered, not believing what was happening.
“I asked your father for his permission, and now I just really need yours.” He handed the box in front of you. “Open it.”
Taking the lid off, there was a soft fleece blanket, a blanket patterned with the animals from the Lorax. You knew he was waiting for you to look back at him, but you stared down at the box. The words how, why, what, and oh wanted to come out, but no sound came out when you parted your lips.
“When I said ‘just not like that,’ it was first to Taehyung’s mom when we were watching the movie and you were sleeping underneath the blanket,” he explained. “I asked your father to get the same number as you, to show you that I don’t want it to be like that. I want to be with you any day watching your mom’s favorite movie under the soft blankets, reminding you that you aren’t alone and that your mother isn’t forgotten.”
You looked up back at him. Tears were forming in his alluring eyes. You hold back a smile, wanting to laugh at the irony. He was looking at you the same way you looked at him the day he decided not to study abroad.
“Hurting you was the worst thing I did.”
You stood there frozen, wanting to say something, but you knew your words would come out incoherent, barely intelligible.
“You don’t have to say anything.” But Jimin read you like his favorite book, knowing every single line, reciting them out loud, letting the words live in his head rent-free. “I understand the trees.” He paused. “If you had known it was going to be me, would you still have made that card so friend-zoney?”
And there, you wrapped your arms around him, knowing you would never lose him ever again.
Perhaps the heartbreak of losing your mom could not be healed with time, but with the love of your life.

Authors note: This story is a little more personal than I usually write and I’m aware that some might relate. But I hope you enjoy.
A big thank you to @downbad4yoongi and @star-my for being my beta angels. 💜
To say the two of you were being loud was an understatement. Yours and Jimin’s usual unserious bickering always got louder the drunker you got. Thankfully, the group was in a private room this time, or else the whole restaurant would look at you the same way your waitress did every time she came into the room. Your friends either watched the both of you with the same look of amusement as they always did, or they did their best to ignore you.
Tonight's topic of discussion was whether or not Jimin should be your date to your company party in two days since the person you were originally supposed to go with backed out.
“Jimin, if I take you, then my whole work life will be just people asking me how I know The Park Jimin! I like my quiet work life. I don’t want people knowing I’m friends with one of the world's most famous models!”
Jimin put his hand over his heart, scrunched up his face like he was in pain, and sucked in a sharp breath. “Are you ashamed of me, Y/N? Have the past ten years of our friendship meant nothing?”
You leaned your head back and groaned in frustration before taking another shot of soju. This argument had been going in circles for almost thirty minutes now. “Jimin,” you took a deep breath before turning to face him, “I love you. You know that, right?” You bit the inside of your lip to stop the smile that wanted to show when he sniffled and wiped a nonexistent tear. “I’m not ashamed of you. You are one of my best friends, and I would do anything for you, but you know how I prefer to fly under the radar. If I show up with you, people won’t leave me alone. All I’d hear about is the handsome friend I have.”
“You think I’m handsome?” Jimin’s fake hurt turned into a victory grin.
“You’re such a pain in my ass!” You laughed, unable to control it anymore.
“$100 dollars, Taehyung.” Jimin reached across the table to collect his winnings.
“You bet against me, Tae?” Your eyebrow shot up as you ran your tongue across the inside of your cheek. “I guess you’ll be paying for your own dinner.”
Taehyung stopped mid-transaction. “Wait! What? No! Come one, Y/N! That’s not fair! It’s not my fault you fell into his trap again!”
Jimin snatched the money from his fingers. “He has a point, Y/N. It’s not his fault you lost.”
Your head snapped to Jimin, who had a cheeky grin on his face while he got his wallet out and put away his prize. “I should really kick your ass one of these days.”
He turned in your direction, rested one arm on the table, and looked you over. “Sounds like a fun time to me.”
You laughed while the temperature of your body soared, “Get away from me,” you stated, playfully shoving him away and grabbing your chopsticks.
“How have you two not fucked yet?” Jungkook piped in from across the table.
The piece of meat you’d been chewing on quickly found its way to your throat, causing you to choke.
“Damn, Jungkook.” Jimin chuckled, patting you on the back while Hoseok got you a glass of water and tried to calm his laughter so that he wouldn’t spill it. “You can’t just say shit like that out of nowhere.”
“We’ve all been wondering.” Jungkook pouted and shrugged his shoulders. “The two of you have so much sexual and non-sexual chemistry between you, it's only a matter of time before something happens.” He took in a sharp breath and turned his head slightly, taking both of your reactions in. “Unless it's already happened…”
You put up your finger stopping him, “Him and I,” you wiggled your finger pointing at you and Jimin. “Never have. Never will.”
“I wouldn’t say never, Y/N. One of these days you might.”
“I’m up for it if you are.” Jimin smiled and ran his tongue across his bottom lip out of the corner of your eyes.
“He’s not my type, Jungkook.”
“You don’t have a type, Y/N,” Yoongi yelled from the other end of the table. “You’ve always said you would give anyone a chance as long as they aren't assholes. And Jimin, although he’s a pain in the ass, he’s not an asshole.”
Jimin’s lips tightened and he nodded. “I am not an asshole.”
You sighed, annoyed at the conversation. “That is true, but I would also prefer someone taller or as tall as me.”
“I’m a whole two inches shorter! And that’s if we are both barefooted!” Jimin stated, before quickly realizing it wasn’t helping his case any.
The conversation was beginning to upset you. You’d always been self-conscious about your height, thanks to being teased about it growing up and the numerous times you were turned down by a guy. Did you find Jimin attractive? Yes, extremely attractive. But you promised yourself many years ago that you wouldn’t put yourself through the pain of rejection again, so that’s why you placed him in the friend zone the moment you met him.
“Two inches isn’t that bad, Y/N.”
You took a shot of soju and poured another while the table agreed with Yoongi. “Although he has legs for days, Jimin is still too short for me and that's that.” You quickly tilted your head back, taking the last shot, and slammed the glass on the table. “I’m going first. I have a lot of things to do tomorrow.” You stood up and collected your stuff. “Dinner is on me!” You waved your hand over your shoulder before shutting the door and going to the counter to pay.
The second you stepped outside, you rolled your neck and shoulders to help ease the tension that had started to build. You flagged down the first available taxi that you saw and got in. But as you were closing the door and giving him your destination, the door was stopped.
“What are you doing?” You asked Jimin, who had a hand on the top of it.
He didn’t say anything, just waved you over so that he could get in. The driver gave you a concerned look in the mirror, and you let him know it was fine. This wasn’t the first time one of the guys had ridden home with you, especially after a night of drinking.
The ride was silent except for the music coming from the radio. You stared out the window, listening to the sad love song that was playing. It was definitely not the kind of music you needed right now.
“Say something, Y/N.” Jimin finally spoke up after twenty minutes of silence.
You took your heavy head off the window and spoke to him, “Stop flirting with me.”
“Wh..what?” He chuckled.
Your head leaned back against the window, and your focus went back to the world outside. “I said stop flirting with me. It hurts too much when you do.” You chewed on the inside of your cheek to keep your tears at bay that threatened to spill out.
Silence fell over the car again, breaking only when you told the driver thank you. Jimin followed quietly behind you. He didn’t say anything as the two of you rode the elevator up to your apartment and entered. You didn’t have the energy to talk; all you wanted to do was get cleaned up and go to bed.
After you’d finished up and climbed under the covers, Jimin came into your room. He had done the same, changing into one of the spare sets of clothes the guys had kept in your extra room. He was the only one out of the group that slept in the king-size bed with you. Jimin had taken care of you one day while you were sick and accidentally fell asleep. When he woke up, he complained about how your bed was more comfortable than the one in the guest room and claimed the empty side as his.
You turned so that your back was facing him. You inwardly cursed yourself and let a silent tear fall when your body relaxed to his closeness and smell.
Jimin sighed and turned off the lamp on his side of the bed, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
・❥・
You’d just finished putting on your makeup when your phone pinged with a notification. It was a text message from Jimin telling you that he was on his way up to your apartment. You sighed and put down your makeup brush. You were way too busy right now for interruption. The buzzer to the door went off, and you double-checked your robe to make sure it was secure before you opened it. On the other side of the door stood a smiling Jimin, who was wearing a black tailored suit and had a bouquet of flowers in one hand.
Your eyes raked over him, taking in his perfectly styled hair to the tip of his Chelsea boots. “What are you all dressed up for?” you asked, folding your arms.
“I’m your date!” He proudly exclaimed, puffing out his chest.
“I never agreed to that,” you rolled your eyes and walked away.
“Careful, Y/N. You’ll scuff my shoes!”
You looked behind you and saw Jimin’s foot wedged between the door and the frame, stopping it from closing. “Well, that’s what you get for using your damn foot to stop the door.”
“Man, you’re in a mood today.”
You stopped at the couch and grabbed the garment bag resting on the arm that held your dress. “I don’t have time for this, Jimin. I still need to get dressed.” You jumped when the bouquet was suddenly put in front of your face.
“It’s a present from the guys. All six of them picked out a flower to say sorry about the dinner the other night.”
“What about you?” you lifted an eyebrow and took the bouquet.
“There’s no better present than me!” He sat down on the couch and stretched out his arms across the back. “I am all yours tonight. I promise to be a gentleman and stay by your side like a good date.”
Jimin pouted when you didn’t argue. His eyes stayed on you and watched you walk away. When you emerged from your room twenty minutes later, his heart stopped, and his breath hitched. You looked beautiful. He had never seen you dressed up like this before. The black dress was tight, putting all your curves on display, while the high neckline perfectly showed off your clavicle. The long sleeves helped to keep you covered until the dress ended mid-thigh, showing off your well-toned legs. He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t ever thought about them in ways that would make you blush. You had joked a few times, saying that he had legs for days, but yours really did go on for days. When you stopped to use the mirror in the corner of the living room so that you could put your earrings in, Jimin nearly slid off the couch. The dress was backless, stopping just above your bottom.
“Jimin?”
“I’m sorry. Did you need something?” He asked, snapping out of his thoughts.
“I asked if you could help me with my necklace.”
“Yeah, sure.” Jimin got off the couch and walked over to you. The heels you had on only added an inch or two to your height. You weren’t a fan of wearing heels that made you too much taller than normal. He knew it was because you didn’t want to stick out more than you already did. Your height was one of your biggest insecurities; you liked to pretend that it wasn’t, but he knew.
You turned to face him after he’d finished. “Do I look that bad?”
“What? No!” Jimin blinked rapidly and shook his head. “You look amazing! I’ve just never seen you in something like this before. It’s taking me a bit to get used to it.”
You ran your hands over your dress and pulled the skirt down some more. “I wanted to try something new. But I feel almost naked. I should go put something else on. I’m not mentally prepared for the attention this dress might come with.”
“No, you don’t!” Jimin grabbed your arm, stopping you from leaving to go change. “We don’t have time for that!” He kept a hold of your arm while he walked to the closet by the front door. “We just need to find…” He trailed off while he sorted through the coats. “Ah! Here we go! I knew I’d left it here.” He pulled out and shook out a black trench coat. “It’s unisex, so it will work perfectly.”
“Are you sure? Isn’t this the jacket you got from a photoshoot? It’s pretty expensive.”
Jimin hummed and helped you put it on, “I’m sure. It will keep you warm, and it will keep random men from staring at you while we go outside to the car.”
・❥・
The two of you were currently sitting in the back of the car, laughing and chatting about the happenings of your company party while Jimin’s personal driver drove. Jimin did just as he said he would and stayed by your side for the most part.
“I gave SunHee your phone number, by the way.” You laughed when his face scrunched up in disgust when you mentioned your boss's secretary's name. The woman had practically bulldozed everyone down when she saw you and Jimin walk through the door. Sunhee was one of the least liked people in the office; she was the head secretary, and she let everyone know it.
Jimin’s body shook as he remembered the way she kept putting her hands on him while she flirted. “God, I hope you’re joking. I can’t deal with any more crazy stalkers in my life.”
“I’m only joking. I couldn’t do that to you or me. I mean, if you two started dating, that means I’d have to see her outside of work.” This time, it was your face that scrunched up in disgust.
“That’s good because I told her we were dating.”
“You didn’t,” your laughter stopped when you saw the serious look on his face. “You didn’t, Jimin…Jimin. Please tell me you are joking.”
“What was I supposed to do? She kept trying to get me to leave with her. At one point, she even tried to get me into the supply closet!”
You groaned in frustration and let your head fall to the window. “Monday is going to be hell.”
Jimin patted you on the shoulder, “That’s what you get for leaving us alone at the table.”
“I had to pee,” you groaned. “Why did they have to pick a place that was so far away?” You weren’t looking for an answer, but he replied anyway.
“We still have about forty minutes until we get to your apartment. My place is closer if you want to just stay there.”
You turned your head and glared at him. “What makes you think that this date went well enough for me to go home with you?”
Jimin copied your earlier move and looked out the window. “I just thought you’d want to get out of those shoes and into some comfortable clothing as soon as possible. Plus, I live close to your favorite fried chicken restaurant.”
Your lips and eyebrows tightened while you thought. Once you’d come to a decision, you nodded and got the driver's attention. “To Jimin’s house, please. Also, can we stop to get chicken, please?”
・❥・
Jimin laughed while he poured each of you a glass of beer. You looked so cute sitting there in his shirt and a pair of his boxers, wiggling as you chewed on your food across the coffee table from him.
“I think that’s your twelfth piece.” He joked.
“I think you should shut up.” You replied in a singsongy voice.
Jimin sat back and watched you as he drank. His mind was swirling with questions that he needed answers to. “Tonight went pretty well, didn’t it?”
“Except for the random fan girls, yes. I’d say it did.” You wiped your hands on the napkin and took a drink.
“Is two inches really that big of a deal?”
You were mid-drink when your confused eyes looked at him. “I guess that depends on the location of the two inches you’re lacking in.” You smirked.
“I am not lacking there, you perv,” he laughed.
You shrugged your shoulders. “If you say so.”
“I was talking about my height, Y/N.”
“To some women, it might not,” you shrugged
“I’m not talking about some women. I’m talking about you.”
You were hunched over with your mouth hung open pre-bite. Your eyes looked up at him. He was being serious. Now the question was, did you want to have this conversation with him? Did you have enough liquid courage to let everything out in the open?
Jimin sat there on his side of the table, watching you. The expression on his face told you that he wasn’t going to give up until you answered him.
You straightened up and downed your half-full glass of beer. “Alright, let's have this conversation,” you sighed. “To me, it is. I don’t want it to be, but it is. I can’t tell you how many times I have been turned down because of my height or been broken up with because the guy I was dating couldn’t handle the rude comments. Not to mention all the names I was called. So yes, for me, two inches does matter.”
“It doesn’t to me.”
“Jimin…” Your words trailed off when he moved the table to the side so that he could scoot closer to you.
“Y/N, I understand that you are worried about our height difference. I would be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about it. But I realize I don’t care. People are going to make comments because they are assholes. All that matters to me is that I have you by my side.”  You looked down at your hand, suddenly fascinated by your nails, while he continued. “So wear your heels, take pride in your height, and be my girlfriend.”
You sat there for a few minutes, just taking in the words that he said. Two inches didn’t look like that big of a deal to most people, but to you, it was. Could you do the same as him and push your insecurities aside one last time?
“Oh my god. Did I read things wrong? Are you not attracted to me? Did I just make a total fool of myself?”
Your head quickly snapped up. “No, it’s not that!”
“So you do think I’m attractive?”
“Yes, very. I just…I umm. Fuck. Okay.” The words came out even though you hadn’t intended them to.
“Okay?” The excitement he was feeling became visible on his face.
“We can give it a try.”
He leaped up from his seated position and hugged you. “You know what’s nice about us sitting down?”
“What?”
Jimin pulled back a little, “Neither of us has to adjust our heights to kiss.”
Before you could say anything, Jimin put his lips on yours. Your body instantly melted, and your eyes fluttered close.
For a moment, you felt as if you were floating before you felt the floor against your back. After that, it didn't take much longer for the simple kiss to turn into a full-blown make-out session. The two of you in your own little world, taking each other in with your lips and hands.
Jimin’s apartment filled with the sound of your combined moans when you wrapped your legs around him, effectively trapping him against you. The hunger you’d both had trapped inside of you for years was threatening to take over with the movement of his hips and the touch of your skin on his.
The sound of Jimin’s phone going off snapped both of you out of your lust-filled haze. Jimin slowly lifted himself away from you. “I didn't mean for it to go that far.” He said, just as out of breath as you were. “I was just hoping for a little kiss. Not a…”
“Full-blown dry hump session?” you laughed.
“Yeah, that. Although I’m not complaining, I think we should stop for now.” He turned and glared at his phone when it went off again. Jimin pouted and looked back at you. “I hate to say this, but I’m going to need you to unwrap me from your beautiful legs so that I can yell at whoever is blowing up my phone.”
Before you could reply, both of your heads snapped in the direction of the front door when you heard the sound of his passcode being entered. “Fuck!” the two of you said in unison.
Jimin had just gotten himself straightened out, and you had just gotten yourself into the bathroom when the entryway was filled with the sound of your friends.
“See, I told you they’d be here!” Seokjin’s voice echoed. “Jimin! Where are you? Oh, you’re right there.” He laughed when he found Jimin standing in the front room with a confused look on his face.
“Where’s, Y/N?” Namjoon asked, walking around the older man with bags full of food.
“I was in the bathroom.” Before you knew it, Taehyung and Jungkook were standing next to you with their eyes squinted.
“Something’s different…” the youngest of the two spoke as they began to circle you.
“What the hell are you guys doing?” you nervously laughed.
“Something feels off. Don’t you think, Jungkook?”
“There’s definitely something.”
“Oh will you two cut it out!” Yoongi yelled while he and the other men watched the weirdness going on a few feet away. “We came here to eat, drink, and let them tell us about the party.”
“Is that a hickey?!”
Everyone else in the room froze except for you, who quickly covered your neck with your hands and looked at Jimin.
“What did you do?” Taehyung looked at Jimin, whose face was turning red. “Jimin? Why does Y/N have a hickey on her lower neck?”
Jimin’s mouth opened and shut a few times while he tried to figure out how to respond. “What makes you think I did something?” he asked defensively. “Who's to say she didn’t do it?”
“What the hell, Jimin? I didn’t give myself a hickey!”
“Well, I didn’t give it to you! My phone interrupted us before I…” Jimin stopped talking and glared at the younger two who were smiling from ear to ear.
“There’s no hickey, Y/N.” Jungkook put an arm around your shoulder. “But Jimin’s dress shirt is crooked.”
You elbowed him in the side and slapped Taehyung on the arm. “Assholes! The both of you are assholes.” You slid out from under Jungkook’s arm and went to the kitchen where Namjoon and Hoseok were standing, trying their best not to laugh.
“Welp,” Yoongi clapped loudly, breaking up the staring contest between the three youngest. “Guess that means we are going to eat, drink, and talk about the party along with whatever the hell we interrupted.”
You groaned and let your torso fall to the island to hide your embarrassed face. This was not at all how you saw your night going. “Get off the island, Y/N,” Jimin said, pulling you up and into his chest. “I take full responsibility and won't let them interrogate you too much.”
Your eyes snapped back to Taehyung and Jungkook when you heard ‘aws’ coming from them. “I really don’t like you two right now! I knew I should’ve slammed the door on your damn foot.” You couldn’t help but laugh when Jimin started laughing behind you.
“Does that mean I’m finally going to get that ass-kicking you promised?”
“Get away from me.” You laughed harder and gently pushed Jimin away.
“So you and the pain in the ass, huh?” Yoongi asked when you joined him and Seokjin at the table.
“Yep, me and the pain in the ass.”
Jimin was different from the other guys you’d had a crush on. Looking back, you could see that now. He nor either one of your friends had made you feel like a freak for your height. And he was right. Those who did have a problem with it were assholes. The thought of being with Jimin made you feel anxious, but strangely, in a good way.

A night in a foreign city doesn’t really feel complete without the walk through its streets under the expanse of black, vast sky. You spend your time leisurely, enjoying the way the night breeze blow past your cheeks, weaving through your hair in pleasant waves.
The air is nice, just the right temperature between cold and warm that makes you snug in your grey hoodie. The lights from streetlamps and buildings alike dot your vision, coloring it in a soft glow of muted gold that swirls around in the chocolate of your irises.
Despite all the pleasant things around you, you can’t help but feel the way someone is boring a hole into the small of your back with a piercing stare, making the bounce in your step falter slightly as you try to ignore the gnawing feeling in your heart.
“Tae,” you whisper, “you don’t have to walk behind me like that.”
The boy looks up, eyes wide and round. They are usually warm and rich with emotions, happiness radiating from his gaze alone. But this time, they’re as blank as a piece of white paper.
“Sorry,” he mumbles, before getting into the same pace as you. Your shoulder brushes against his bicep occasionally—because you’re significantly shorter than him—and it saddens you how he used to take your hands when you’re both this close but he doesn’t anymore.
The two of you walk in silence, the only sound heard from both your shoes hitting the sidewalk with every step you take along with the sound of cars passing by beside you on the main road. It saddens you, because the night feels lonely without the rich timbre of his laugh.
It saddens you, how you and Taehyung are no longer the same person you both were. Your paths don’t lead to the same place, and it hurts to know that no matter the effort, it won’t work.
You and him will never be.
“Hey.” Taehyung’s call can be easily passed as a hum, that low baritone of his playing more part than the articulation of said word.
You look up at him, and find his eyes fixated on the big, bright, grand bridge in the distance.
It lights up really brightly, like that giant christmas tree in the middle of the city hall you both went to years ago. Now it seems like a distant memory that doesn’t even belong to you.
“Yeah?” you say, in reply to his hey earlier.
Taehyung doesn’t respond, instead fishing his phone from the depth of his coat pocket, positioning it in front of his eyes with the camera app open. He snaps a picture, and even though a mere phone camera doesn’t do the structure justice, he still smiles at the result.
He tilts his head slightly at the direction of the bridge, signalling for you to stand in front of his phone camera lens so he can get you in the picture too. A protest is ready to tumble out of your lips, but something in his eyes makes you swallow it back down.
You move to fit yourself into the frame, plastering a close-mouthed smile on your lips to match the mood you both somehow have set over the night.
Your hand instinctively reaches out to take his phone to take turns snapping pictures, but Taehyung pockets the phone back.
“Use yours.”
Taehyung switches position with you, and when you get the phone to your eye level, your heart clenches at the sight before you.
It’s Taehyung, but it’s not. He’s wearing a cheeky grin, boxy corners of his lips tugged to make an adorable smile. His eyes, previously blank, now are filled with joy, one you cannot relate to because you know him like the back of your hand and you know it’s all faux happiness and you know tears are threatening the back of his eyes because they start to get glossy and—
You snap a single picture before your hands can shake too badly to do it, before quickly slipping your phone into the depths of your hoodie pocket without even bothering to check for the result.
Taehyung always looks good, but not with fake emotions.
“One last night,” he whispers brokenly when he’s beside you again, “pretend everything is how it’s used to be. Pretend we’re the same people we started with, daring and happy and in love. Pretend that you still love me, and I still love you, and we deserve each other, just like we believed we did.
“Just for tonight.. pretend that everything is okay.”
A night in a foreign city feels really hollow as you walk beside a boy with whom you have too many memories, playing pretend with feelings that have faded away.
It’s okay, he said one last night, right?

"He just texted me 'screw y'all for going on a camping trip without me'." Jungkook chuckles at Jin's message while he reads it out loud.
"That's what he gets for being on a honeymoon in Greece." Jimin sassily remarks, knowing he's just joking and is extremely happy for Jin's happiness and fresh marriage.
The rest of the boys join, joking about it for a few minutes before you finally sit down and talk about today's plans. Hoseok is the one who seems to take a somewhat leader position as he starts to talk.
"Okay, as I mentioned before, there are four tents. One of them is bigger so three people can easily fit there." he explains, looking at each of you before Jimin speaks up.
"Me and Taehyungie can share a tent." he says, causing Taehyung to nod in agreement as they bump their fists like it wasn't expected. Those two are like twins.
"Okay, who's next?" Hoseok asks, looking around again.
"Me, Seulgi and Minjae can share the bigger tent." Kiko speaks up, smiling at her friends who nod and agree immediately.
It still feels weird to have her here, even though it might be a good thing. For all you know, Jungkook is still trying to win her back and this might help. No matter how many times you tell yourself she doesn't deserve him, you want what's best for him. And if his undying love for her isn't going anywhere, who are you to tell him otherwise. Jungkook is stubborn and you've never seen him being in love with someone so much before. Yes, he stopped talking about her like he used to, but him stealing glances her way whenever he thinks nobody is watching, just tells you otherwise. He still wants and loves her.
"Okay, Jungkook and Y/N are staying together. That's obvious, so me and Joon are gonna share a tent," Hoseok says to everyone, before he turns to Namjoon. "Please just don't snore that much." he whines, causing everyone to chuckle while Namjoon seems to fake offense.
"It's not like I can control it!" he exclaims, but still assures Hoseok he's better with snoring these days and even offers that he can sleep in his car if he's going to be snorting.
You kind of feel bad for him, but Hoseok assures him he was just joking and from what you've seen so far, Hoseok likes to joke around a lot but he really cares about his friends. Now that you think about it, him being so protective about Kiko just proves how much he loves his friends. You did the same thing with Jungkook. Still do. You're protective over him to the point you snapped at Kiko at Jin's wedding. You've never snapped at someone you barely know. Well, you know her but in a way, she's a complete stranger to you. She's just his ex that used to spend her time with him all the time, those two were inseparable. Just like you were with Jungkook, until he started to date her and they preferred to be alone rather than hang out with anyone else. The only difference between you is that you're Jungkook's best friend. Not a woman he fell in love with.
The more time you spend with everyone, you find yourself relax. Having Jimin and Taehyung here definitely helps, as those two fool around all the time. When Jungkook and Namjoon have successfully brought wood for the fireplace, two tents are already built thanks to Jimin and Taehyung because it seems like all the girls are pretty bad at it, including you.
"Weren't you saying you used to go camping with your uncle?" Jungkook jokes as he builds the tent like a pro. The grin that's plastered on his lips tells you that he's teasing you again and you take that time to slap his shoulder, causing him to laugh.
When all the tents are successfully built, thanks to none other than Jeon Jungkook himself, you finally eat some ramen that's the easiest to make. You gasp at the sight of the grill and all the other culinary equipment Hoseok brought, which makes everything easier. You can easily cook whatever you guys want. With stomachs full, you decide to go swimming in the lake since the heat starts to be unbearable.
Rummaging through your travel bags, you let out a set of curses while you feel Jungkook's body behind you.
"What's wrong?" he asks, setting his hands on your hips as he tries to look over your shoulder at what you're cursing about.
"I forgot my swimsuit, I thought I packed it. Fuck," you whine, tossing one of the crumpled shirts you manage to wrinkle in the process of your searching back in the bag.
"You packed your stuff into two huge bags and you still forgot your swimsuit?" he asks in bewilderment causing you to glare at him.
He's not helping. At all.
"Just put on whatever," he shrugs, and you glare at him again causing him to roll his eyes. "I don't think it matters. You brought some extra underwear, right?" he asks, causing you to nod.
"Yeah, I'll just leave on the one I'm wearing." you mutter, still disappointed that you managed to forget such an important item. Okay, maybe it's not that important but everyone's wearing a swimsuit and then you're going to be in your underwear.
"Well, I meant—"
"Okay, Jeon. Thanks!" you give him a thumbs up and get into his car to take off your clothes. Thank God for the tinted windows.
You hear him sigh at you, causing you to grin while you take off your clothes.
On the other side, there's Jungkook already wearing his black swimming shorts when Taehyung appears wearing similar ones, in yellow. "Where's Y/N?" he asks him, causing Jungkook to nod his head at his parked car.
"She's changing," he explains.
"Cool, meet us there." Taehyung tells him, already running to Jimin who's been calling him while everyone makes their way to the lake.
Jimin and Taehyung jump into the water, before Minjae and Seulgi do the same thing, squealing their hearts out at the temperature of the water. Jungkook leans against his car, arms plopped on the top of his car while he drums his fingers against the sleek black roof, waiting for you. It doesn't take you that long, door from the back opening as you step out of the car. Jungkook straightens his eyes widening at the sight of you.
"Are you kidding?" he asks straight away, eyeing your whole body as you look at yourself with a frown.
"This is the most decent underwear I packed." you reason, wondering if it's really that much.
It's not even lacy or too revealing. Okay, the bra could've been sport one and show less cleavage, but it looks like a bikini.
"You're not showing yourself in front of the guys like this." he tells you, mirroring your frown as he shakes his head.
"I'm not asking you," you tell him, earning a tough glare from him. "What the fuck am I suppose to wear?"
"Just put on my shirt over it." he suggests, already opening the truck before he pulls out a fresh white shirt. You know it's one of his own, considering the size and the fact you've seen him wearing it before.
He outstretches his arm to you, eyes daring you to say otherwise and you take the shirt but not before you whine.
"It's so hot! I'm gonna melt with this on!" you exclaim, grasping the soft material of his shirt in your hand.
He pats the top of your head, smiling down at you that makes you mentally curse at him. "No, you'll be fine."
Rolling your eyes at him, you put the shirt on knowing you might've felt uncomfortable in front of the guys if you just wore your underwear. Jungkook's got a point but you're not going to admit it in front of him, not when he's already grinning at you in triumph.
There's already a lot of squeals and splashing water when you get to the rest of the guys. Your eyes widen at the sight of so much skin, especially when you've never seen Hoseok and Namjoon topless.
"That's not fair. They get to be topless and I've to wear a shirt." you grumble at him silently, shifting your eyes off them before they can notice your prying eyes.
Jungkook's lack of response causes you to turn around, seeing him taking off his shirt as he tosses it on the floor. He's got the same grin plastered on his lips, his nose scrunching as he sees your scandalous expression.
"Really? You too?" you exclaim, eyes dropping down at the sight of his exposed abs and toned chest. Fuck, is he trying to kill you?
He walks up to you, picking you up with so much ease causing you to squeal in shock as you hold onto him tightly. "Life's not fair, Y/N." he comments jokingly, causing you to roll your eyes.
Legs wrapped around his frame and arms around his neck, you let him carry you. You don't think about it too much, that's until he's very careful while stepping into the water. And that's when you start to curse at him, trying to avoid contact with cold water.
"Jungkook, I swear to god! Don't drop me, don't you dare!" you start to scream at him, laughing when the cold water touches toes.
You hear the rest of the guys laughing at you, urging Jungkook to drop you which causes you to yell 'fuck all of you' before Jungkook gets even deeper. His low chuckle rustles in his chest, but he still holds you tightly. He's not dropping you, he even holds you tighter before all of your body is under the water, except your head. Surprisingly, the water isn't as cold as you expected it to be and you allow yourself to relax in his hold.
"Why would you do that?" you ask him quietly, admiring silently his face.
He's beautiful, the reflection of water sparkles his face that's so close to you. You can feel his warm breath on your face as he chuckles. "I knew you'd take a good hour to get into the water. So I helped." he smirks, causing you to snort.
"Oh, you helped? Is that it?" you laugh, splashing some water into his face. He gasps dramatically at that, causing you to laugh again. "You're such a good person, aren't you?" you tease him, splashing him once again.
He tries to dodge your attack by turning his head, but it still splashes the side of his face and he turns to you with a devilish smirk. "Y'know what? Suddenly, I don't feel like being a good person anymore." he says before he lets go of you, causing you to cling to him for your dear life.
He's laughing, putting his arms above his head so you can't reach him. You hold onto him, cursing at him. "Fuck you, Jeon. This is not funny."
You can swim, but you're more confident in your swimming when you can actually reach the bottom. Considering Jungkook barely reaches it, it means you wouldn't and you don't want to risk that.
"Maybe later, baby." he smirks, hands on your hips again before he walks closer to the shoal.
Heart beating at his words, you choose not to think too much about it. You can't let yourself get horny because of simple words. There are people around you, watching you.
You finally let him let go of you, legs meeting the bottom of the lake, but not before you splash him straight into the face. You hear Jimin's laughter at that, but it soon dies down when Jungkook jumps at you, diving both of your bodies underneath the water. You fool around for a few minutes, completely in your own worlds before you get out of the water to put some sunscreen on.
Your eyes find Kiko sitting on the towel with crossed legs as she stares at you. Surprisingly, she smiles at you and hands you her sunscreen which you take with a soft 'thanks'. The thought of her watching the both of you makes you somehow uncomfortable.
Was Jungkook fooling around because he knew she was watching? It certainly felt natural and just something both of you do. It's not the first time Jungkook has done that, fooling around with you or getting you into the water with you protesting and cursing him out. This trip is supposed to be fun. He didn't know she was coming as well but he's still trying to win her back. You both have to pretend to be dating here, but the question is...
Has he already started to pretend?

The Other Side - Part 2
Tumblr media
Fandom: BTS Pairing: Park Jimin x OC (Amelia) Genre: Fluff/Angst Word Count: 1.7k Words Warning: Drinking, foul language, mention of kiss, this chapter doesn’t deal with any major triggering issues. Note: (18+) Additional chapters contain heavy angst and sensitive topics. If you can’t handle problematic issues, I advise you to not read any further.
Summary: When Amelia and her bestie have an encounter with the duo (JiKook), they seem to develop a love and hate kinda relationship...
Part 1 - Part 2 - More to Come
Tumblr media
Are we doing business? Or do you hate me? - Danger by BTS
“Do you want a drink?” I asked.
“I would rather have another ice cream.” Tara replied.
I rolled my eyes, “Do you even eat anything other than that?”
Tara was my best friend since grade two. We had our ups and downs, but were never separated permanently until Tara decided to live in the city to attend college. But whenever she came back to town we would hangout like we were kids again. This time, she came to visit the seasonal festival and I was determined to have the best night of my life.
I paid for the snacks and added to the stall keeper, “We’ll have ice cream and Cheetos too.”
“Two bottles of beer, please.” I heard someone beside me. We both looked at each other at once and I wished I didn’t have.
“Hey! Crybaby! How are you? Oh, hi there, Tara! Didn’t know you were in town too. So, you girls were having a little get together or something?”
Yes! It was no other than Jeon Jungkook. Just looking at him made me want to punch his face. I put on a fake smile over my gritted teeth and spoke rather mockingly, “How are you, big teeth?”
Jungkook chuckled and replied, “The bunny’s doing great. Thank you.”
“And so are the Barbies.” Tara snapped before pulling me away.
“Hey! Wait for me.” Jungkook called. We saw him taking his beers and paying hurriedly before sprinting towards our direction.
“Is he serious, right now?” Tara whispered to me in annoyance.
Jungkook whined, “C’mon! We met after a long time. And you didn’t even talk to me at Tae’s party. ‘Cause you were too busy drooling over Jimin.”
“Excuse me!” I asked, offended. Jungkook was really testing my patience.
“Who the hell is Jimin?” Tara asked, unaware.
“I’m Jimin.” Suddenly someone spoke beside us.
I looked at him in disbelief. My immediate thought was that he was perhaps stalking me. But then, I remembered that Jimin was a really good friend of Jungkook. So, it wasn’t unusual that he came to his friend’s town to attend a festival.
“Amelia!” He turned to me with a faint smirk on his face, “We meet again.”
Tumblr media
“So, you’ve been talking about me with Jungkook?” I inquired Jimin as soon as we were left alone. Tara went to the bathroom and Jungkook was taking an important phone call.
“To be honest,” Jimin chuckled, “you’re the only thing I’ve been talking about these past few days.”
Jimin really knew how to flatter because I could tell that my face went red. But it wasn't time to give in to his seduction, especially when I was supposed to be angry at him.
"So, you guys are really having some fun talking behind my back, huh?" I retorted.
"You are indeed fun to talk about, I won't lie, but…"
I didn’t let him continue whatever he was going to say next. "Listen, I'm not interested in wasting time with you. I don't know why you'd approached me that night. I don't know what Jungkook has been telling you and whatever you're telling him in return. All I know and want you to be clear about is that I’m done encountering you. If you still don't let go, you'll have to deal with Taehyung."
Jimin laughed at my speech which only added fuel to my anger. "Well, one thing is true, then.”
“And what’s that?”
“You complain a lot to your brother, like a cry-baby."
Had it been Jungkook, he would have earned a slap across his face by now. I breathed out through my mouth to avoid doing something stupid. But someone spoke loudly beside me, "who the hell do you think you are, speaking like that to my best friend in front of me?"
"Oh, I'm sorry…" Jimin was yet again cut off.
This time, Tara angrily started to rant, "our night's already ruined. Thanks to your asshole friend. Now don't get me started on you. Don't even think you have any chance with my girl just because you're…"
"Tara," I immediately interrupted, "let's get going. It's no good fighting with them. We should know better since our previous arguments with the other asshole."
"Yeah, whatever!" Tara turned along with me.
"I'm staying in town for a few days." Jimin yelled behind us as we were walking away from him. "Don't hope to never see me again. 'Coz who knows! You might."
I grunted in frustration while  Tara asked, "want me to go back and kick him in the balls?"
Tumblr media
"Why do all the good looking guys have to be assholes?" Tara sighed one day.
I raised my eyebrows, "which assholes are you referring to?"
"Whom do you think?"
"Umm…" I thought for a while, "I know for once, Jimin is attractive and also, turned out to be an asshole like his friend. Who else do you mean?"
"I mean," Tara replied, "his friend that you just mentioned."
If Tara had said that she was pregnant, I would have been less surprised.
"What the hell, dude!" I couldn't mask my disgust, "How can you find Jungkook attractive? I knew your taste in men was trash but him?"
"Oh, thank you very much." Tara argued, "Mind you, I didn't say he was attractive. I only said 'good-looking'. And I believe I added that he was an asshole. So, he doesn’t really fall under the men of my taste. By the way, aren't you the one attracted to assholes? As far as I know, it wasn't me who made out with one of them."
I was flustered by her reply. "Hey, that was… a mistake. I was… I was drunk." I stuttered.
Tara started to laugh. I couldn't believe she was bullying me for kissing Jimin. Maybe, I shouldn't have confided in her everything. Especially the part where I said I actually enjoyed making out with him.
"You're mean!"
I stood up and walked out of my room to the living room only to find that Taehyung was having a blast with his friends. And the friends in question are none other than my life long enemy, Jungkook and my most recent crush, Jimin.
Tumblr media
Turns out Jimin was a sneaky bitch. Somehow he managed to manipulate Taehyung into thinking that it was his friendship that Jimin was after all along and he had nothing to do with me. He also added that there was a girl in his city that he was seeing. Taehyung didn’t seem to have any problem with being friends with him since he didn’t pose an immediate threat of becoming someone closer to me. Now, my brother was having the time of his life chatting with the two people I couldn’t even bear to talk with.
Both me and Tara listened to all the bullshit for a while and then decided it was time to leave. “We’re going out!” I said to my brother, “Want me to get you something?”
“Nope!” His reply was short.
“Well, enjoy, I guess!” I muttered under my breath and headed out with Tara.
“Wait!” Jimin ran out of the house behind us.
Tara moved in between and asked, “What do you want?”
“I wanna talk with Amelia!” Jimin replied casually.
“Why?” Tara pressed further, “Isn’t it Tae whom you’re after?”
Jimin looked irritated, “Can you please give us some space for a moment?”
“What do you need a space for? I thought you had a girlfriend. Why? Aren’t you loyal?” Tara kept on going.
“Are you just going to enjoy this?” Jimin looked at me helplessly.
I simply shrugged my shoulders in reply. Jungkook came to his rescue. “Hey, Tara! Wanna know what the whole college is talking about?”
Tara’s face went red, “Jeon Jungkook, I swear I’m going to kill you if you did anything funny!” And she stormed away inside the house along with a smirking Jungkook.
“Hey…” Jimin started but I cut him in between.
“Is there anything important that you wanna say? If not, please go bother someone else.”
“You didn’t even let me start!” he pouted.
I frowned at his words, “Your pretense of being a cutie ain’t gonna help you now.”
Jimin turned serious and asked, “What’s up with you? I can’t seem to read you right. One minute you’re so into me, the next minute you won’t even look at me? Is Tae the matter?”
“Nope!” I answered truthfully, “It’s you! You’re the matter.”
“Will you at least tell me what I did wrong since the last time we met?” Jimin asked gently.
I thought for a while before saying, “Why do you even care? I’m only an inside joke between the two of you.”
Jimin started nodding his head as if he just realized something very basic, “So, Jungkook’s the matter, huh?”
“No!” I denied.
“Oh, dear!” Jimin laughed, “Do you realize how long it had been since you were in school? Seriously? Are you still holding a grudge over those silly fights you had with him? Are you still that petty?”
I huffed in annoyance, “Go on. Tell me more about what else he had told you about me.”
“Nothing but all the good times that he had with you.” Jimin said with a smile.
“Huh?”
“Amelia!” Jimin shook me by the shoulders, “Jungkook always talked about you and Tara as if you were his only friends in high school. Yeah, he mentioned the fights and all. But at the end of the day, he still considers you his friends. The time when I confessed to him about you, the only thing he said was that I was diving in for some adventure. And it wasn’t even said in a bad way. He really ships us with all his might.”
I kept blinking at him in disbelief. Surely, Jungkook wouldn’t talk all nice about us let alone calling us his friends. What is Jimin trying to do here?
At that time, Tara came out yelling at Jungkook behind her, “Grow up, rabbit faced!”
“After you, bitch!” A boiling red Jungkook yelled back at her.
Tara took my hand and pulled me away from the house. “Just ignore him. He’s a bit upset, you know!”
“What did you say for him to act like that?” I asked.
“Nothing much!” Tara shrugged, “Just reminded him how desperate he was.”
“Desperate for what?”
In reply, Tara just let out a laugh.

Taehyung's days at the station felt emptier, quieter, in a way that gnawed at him. It had been two weeks since you last showed up, and though he had once found your daily visits annoying, your sudden absence left him feeling unsettled. He tried to tell himself that it was for the best— you needed to move on, and so did he. But something about your silence, your complete disappearance, felt wrong.
At first, he welcomed the peace. No more fake complaints, no more lingering touches, no more of those pleading eyes that seemed to see right through him. But as the days dragged on, a strange anxiety took root in his chest. He found himself glancing at the door of the station, half-expecting you to walk in with another fabricated story. When the door stayed closed, his unease deepened.
Taehyung buried himself in work, trying to distract himself from the gnawing thoughts that plagued him. But no matter how busy he kept himself, he couldn’t shake the image of YN —the way she had looked at him, the desperation in her voice when she tried to get closer. He had pushed her away, thinking it was the right thing to do, but now he couldn’t help but wonder if he had been too harsh.
He told himself that you were just a troubled girl with a misguided infatuation. But deep down, something else stirred—a dark, possessive feeling he couldn’t quite name. It made him restless, unable to focus on anything for too long. He found himself replaying their encounters in his mind, dissecting every word, every gesture. Was she really as crazy as he had thought, or had she just been... misunderstood?
Late at night, when the station was quiet and the city slept, Taehyung would sit alone at his desk, staring at his phone. He would scroll through his contacts, pausing on YN’s name, his thumb hovering over the call button. But each time, he would set the phone down, cursing himself for even considering it. She was better off without him. Yet, the thought of her moving on, of her being with someone else, made his chest tighten with an unfamiliar rage.
As the days passed, that rage festered, mixing with a growing sense of desperation. He needed to see her, to talk to her, to know why she had suddenly disappeared from his life. It wasn’t love—at least, that’s what he told himself. It was something darker, something that made his pulse race and his thoughts spiral. He had to see her. He had to know.
Finally, after two agonizing weeks, Taehyung couldn’t take it anymore. One evening, he drove to your apartment, his heart pounding in his chest. He told himself that he just needed closure, that once he saw you again, he could put this obsession to rest. He bought a bouquet of flowers on the way, thinking it would soften the tension between them. Maybe they could talk, clear the air, and he could finally move on.
But as he approached your apartment building, he saw something that made his blood run cold. Through the dimly lit window, he saw Yn standing in her living room, her arms wrapped around another man. They were close, too close, and then she leaned in, pressing her lips against his.
Taehyung's heart shattered in an instant. For a moment, he felt nothing—just a hollow, aching void where his heart had been. Then, slowly, a twisted smile spread across his face. His grip on the bouquet tightened until the delicate stems snapped, thorns piercing his palm. He felt the sharp sting of pain, but it barely registered. Blood seeped from his hand, staining the white petals of the crushed flowers, but he didn’t care.
His eyes remained fixed on you, a single tear sliding down his cheek. He could feel his sanity unraveling, slipping through his fingers like sand. The man you were kissing didn’t matter—he was insignificant, a mere obstacle in Taehyung's path. What mattered was you, YN. And you were his, whether you realized it or not.
Taehyung stood there for a long time, watching them through the window. His mind raced with dark, twisted thoughts, his heart pounding with a sickening mix of pain and exhilaration. The rage he had been trying to suppress for weeks boiled over, but it didn’t explode in violence. Instead, it simmered, cold and calculating, as he planned his next move.
He would let you have this moment, let you think you were free of him. But you weren't. You never would be. He would bide his time, wait for the perfect moment to remind you that you belonged to him. And when he did, you would understand that there was no escape.
With a final, lingering glance at the window, Taehyung turned and walked away, leaving a trail of crushed petals and blood in his wake. The flowers were ruined, but it didn’t matter. They had served their purpose, just as Yn would serve hers. And when the time came, he would be ready to claim what was his.

Taehyung’s POV
The sound of the door locking behind me echoed through the room. For a moment, I just stood there, staring at her—no, at you. My heart hammered in my chest, the adrenaline from what I’d done still pulsing in my veins. James’s lifeless body lay on the floor, but my eyes were only on you.
You were trembling, bound to the chair, looking up at me with a mixture of fear and disbelief. I almost laughed. After everything I’d done—everything I’d shown you—you still didn’t understand, did you? You didn’t realize that all of this was for you. For us.
I stepped closer, my shoes sticking slightly to the blood-stained floor. The sight of James lying there didn’t bother me. He was nothing. Just an obstacle—one that had been removed. What mattered now was you.
"Why?" you whimpered, your voice barely a whisper. Tears streamed down your cheeks, and my heart twisted in my chest at the sight. I hated seeing you cry, but at the same time, there was something… beautiful about it. You were even more precious in your vulnerability.
I knelt beside you, gently brushing away the tear that had slipped down your cheek. "Why?" I repeated, my voice soft, almost tender. "Because I had to. You’re mine. He was in the way."
You shook your head, pulling back from my touch as much as the ropes allowed. "You’re insane, Taehyung."
My fingers froze mid-air, and for a split second, I felt a flash of anger—an unfamiliar, burning heat in my chest. But I pushed it down. You didn’t mean it. You were just scared. I could fix this. I could make you understand.
"I’m not insane," I said quietly, standing up and walking over to the body. I nudged James’s arm with the toe of my shoe, his lifeless form rolling slightly. "I did what was necessary, sweetheart. He was keeping you from me. He was going to take you away."
My voice hardened, turning cold as I stared down at the corpse. "And no one takes you from me."
I glanced back at you, watching the way your eyes widened in horror, your chest rising and falling in rapid breaths. You looked so fragile, so delicate. But you’d pushed me to this, hadn’t you? If you hadn’t kissed him—if you hadn’t tried to replace me—none of this would have happened.
I clenched my fists, nails digging into my palms, and a familiar warmth seeped from the fresh cuts. The pain was grounding, a reminder of my devotion to you. "You don’t understand it now, but you will," I murmured, turning to face you fully. "You’ll see that I did this for us. You’re the only one for me, and I’m the only one for you."
I walked over to you again, pulling out the rose I’d brought. The thorns pricked my fingers, but I barely noticed. I held it out to you, my heart aching for you to take it.
"You’ve always liked roses, haven’t you? I remember you telling me that." I smiled, and for a moment, I felt something soften inside of me. "I brought this for you."
You stared at it like it was poison. But after a few agonizing seconds, your shaking hands reached out and took the rose. You winced as the thorns dug into your skin, but you didn’t let go. I smiled, relief washing over me. You were starting to see it. You were starting to understand.
---
For two weeks, I’d been empty without you. I had tried to let you go. I really had. But every time I thought of you in someone else’s arms, kissing someone else… I couldn’t breathe. The rage, the jealousy—it consumed me.
I had thought about killing him then, in that moment outside your house. But no. I wanted to wait. I wanted to make sure you were mine first, that you would never try to leave again.
I crouched down in front of you, reaching out to take your hand, feeling the slight tremor in your fingers. "You’re scared now. I understand. But I did this for us." I looked into your eyes, my gaze softening as I cupped your cheek with my bloodstained hand. "I’ll never let anyone hurt you. I’ll never let anyone take you away from me."
---
I stood up and started pacing the room, my hands twitching as I wiped away the blood on my pants, lost in my own thoughts. You belonged to me now. No one else could have you. I would keep you safe, even from yourself.
"You’ll be happy with me, I promise," I said, turning to face you. My heart was pounding again, the excitement building as I imagined our future. "I’ll take care of everything. You won’t have to worry about anyone else ever again."
You didn’t respond, your eyes still wide with terror. I frowned, my frustration bubbling up. Why couldn’t you see? Why couldn’t you just accept my love? I had done all of this for you—for us.
I knelt down beside you again, my fingers wrapping gently around your chin as I forced you to meet my gaze. "Look at me." My voice was soft, but there was an edge to it now. "You’re mine. You always have been. And you will be forever."
---
I saw the way your body tensed, the way you tried to pull back. But it didn’t matter. You couldn’t leave. I wouldn’t let you.
"I won’t hurt you," I whispered, leaning closer, my lips brushing against your ear. "But if you try to leave again…" I trailed off, letting the silence hang in the air. I didn’t need to finish the sentence. You knew what I meant.
I stood up and turned away, my mind racing with plans. I had to make sure you understood, had to show you that we were meant to be together. I wouldn’t let anyone else take you from me. Not now. Not ever.
I glanced back at you, my smile returning as I saw the fear in your eyes. "We’re going to be so happy together," I murmured, more to myself than to you. "Just you and me. Forever."

Not In Love
PART 1 | PART 2
Fake dating, enemies to lovers, college au, fluff, angst, slow burn, mutual pining, BTS Taehyung/ V x fem reader
A/N - Here’s part two. Happy reading!
Summary: Doubts are raised and so are the stakes. It seems that your family aren’t the only ones that Taehyung needs to convince.
Disclaimer: this does not represent any of the members in real life and is for entertainment purposes only.
Tumblr media
Your foot taps anxiously on the worn wooden floor of the cafe, eyes darting around the room as you wait for Taehyung to arrive. Being a Sunday, the quaint little place is buzzing with life, a rich coffee smell permeating the air and feeding into the bright and busy atmosphere.
You’re not sure what he’s going to say. Not that you expect him to agree to play your fake boyfriend again. He certainly isn’t obligated to and you feel terrible for having to drag him into this continuing mess you’ve caused.
Although he did volunteer the first time… and that reminder has you feeling some hope.
Sucking in a sharp breath, you prepare yourself for the conversation you’re about to have as you spot Taehyung arrive, glancing around the busy cafe until his eyes meet yours.
“Is everything ok?” Taehyung asks as he reaches your table and slides into the chair beside you. He looks worried, his brows furrowed and bottom lip slightly jutted out as he waits for your answer.
You’re incredibly endeared by his concern, although you do understand that your text was vague. All you’d messaged was for him to meet you at the cafe as soon as possible and that it was urgent. You didn’t want to go into too much detail in case it deferred him from coming. This conversation must be carried out in person.
“My mom called this morning…” You inhale a deep breath. Taehyung watches you through large, concerned eyes, intently. “…and she wants to meet us for lunch tomorrow.”
You can almost see the cogs turning inside Taehyung’s mind as he processes this information.
“Us? Like me - your boyfriend - and you?” His unsure voice airs, pointing his index finger between the two of you as he speaks. “Huh…” he mulls when you nod, his gaze casting off to the side in thought.
The seconds that pass seem to drag, leaving you on the edge of your seat for his answer. Your hands begin to fidget with each other where they are placed on the table in front of you. But then Taehyung’s unreadable expression begins to morph into a sheepish grin.
“I guess I made quite the impression then.” His hand extends to cover yours, halting your fingers from their nervous movements.
You forget how to breathe.
“We make a great team.”
~
Taehyung strides confidently into the locker rooms, a proud smirk etched onto his face as he slugs his gym bag off his shoulder and it thuds onto the wooden bench in front of him.
He doesn’t normally like having to attend practice on a Sunday. But after his meeting with you, he’s been put in a good mood.
“What’s got you looking so smug?” Jimin is the first to notice the captains mood.
The truth is, Taehyung is unbelievably happy to be playing your boyfriend for a second time. After how smoothly your sisters engagement party went and how much he had enjoyed your company, he had found himself arriving home hoping for another opportunity to arise. And it seems that someone has been looking over him and granting his wishes.
He regrets chickening out of kissing you before he said goodbye the previous night, but even more so, Taehyung regrets pushing you away for so long. Particularly now he knows how well you are able to work together.
“I haven’t seen him look like that since he first started dating Elena.” Jin comments, the name of Taehyung’s ex snapping him back into reality.
“Oh yeah - he’s definitely loved up!” Hoseok joins in.
Taehyung rolls his eyes at his friends. He’s not in love. No way. He’s just enjoying your company and helping you out by pretending to be your boyfriend. Definitely not loved up.
But it seems that his teammates are sold by his unusual positivity, the entire room filling with noise as they all begin to share their opinions in one go.
“Hey!” Taehyung bellows, gaining everyone’s attention. “Has it not occurred to any of you that I could just be in a good mood?”
But the responses of his team make him frown.
“No.”
“Definitely not.”
“Yeah right.”
“Ugh.” He huffs. “Just get outside. Time to practice.” He instructs, walking out to the field with the rest of the group following behind.
~
Monday rolls around quicker than you want it to, bringing with it the dreaded lunch with your mother.
After receiving a message from Taehyung informing you of his arrival, you quickly finish getting ready before rushing outside of your dorm building. You find him leant up against the red brick wall beside the entrance, occupied by his phone.
Clearing your throat to get his attention, you feel yourself grow shy when his head snaps up and he lets a light “Woah…” escape his lips.
“I didn’t realise it was such a formal occasion.” Taehyung begins. “I would have dressed up more otherwise…” he trails off, looking down at his more casual attire in scrutiny.
Yes, you’d dressed up more formally than one would typically expect for a Monday lunch. But this isn’t just any weekday lunch.
Regardless of Taehyung’s doubt over his outfit, he still looks breathtaking to you and you know that your mother would never hold him to the same nit picky standards she does for you. It was made abundantly clear at the party that she took an instant liking towards Taehyung.
“Where my mother is concerned, there’s no such thing as overdressed.” You joke. “You’ll learn that in time.”
Taehyung simply nods, mouth still ajar. He’s not sure what catches his attention more, how stunningly beautiful you are or the fact that you insinuate there’ll be more times like this ahead.
Meanwhile, you are mentally cringing at yourself for your slip up. It sounded like you have expectations of more to come with your relationship. Which shouldn’t even be entertained considering this arrangement has already lasted far longer than it should have done.
~
Your mothers face lights up when you arrive. Greeting you both warmly as you approach her table. Your hand slips into Taehyung’s as you get closer, feeling him accept your fingers as they thread between his and squeezing your palm in silent support.
“It’s so lovely to see you again.” She directs towards you both, welcoming you warmly as you take a seat. “Thank you for joining me.”
“It’s our pleasure.” Taehyung beams, putting on the charm for your mother without a hint of hesitation. You have to suppress the shock of how smoothly he is able to transition from the Taehyung you have come to know to Taehyung your boyfriend.
“I must say, I am slightly surprised you turned up together.” You mother begins to laugh, making your posture tense further. “Your sister seemed to be convinced that you’d turn up alone darling.” Your mother directs to you. The way her eyes soften as she admits this makes you feel queasy. You know it’s all for the sake of your boyfriend though, she’s rarely this empathetic.
You look like a dear caught in headlights, frozen in your seat as you comprehend her comment. You feel Taehyung shift in the seat beside you, clearly understanding the dig from your mother and the apparent suspicion from your sister. No amount of faux care can trick him.
“Luckily we have evening classes on a Monday. Right baby?” Taehyung politely informs, managing to control the bitterness that begins to bubble in his stomach from your family’s clear lack of faith in you.
For some reason, he feels protective. Like he wants to swaddle you in cotton wool to protect your delicate ears. It hurts him to see someone else’s parents treat their own child with such ill intentions, purposefully informing them of snarky gossip from other family members. Your mother didn’t need to share your sisters doubts about your relationship. But, either way, Taehyung will not stand for it as long as he is around.
You’re still yet to speak up, forcing yourself to be occupied by the menu as a way to evade the topic of conversation.
You’re incredibly thankful, once again, for Taehyung always sticking up for you. He seems to have noticed fairly quickly that your mother wouldn’t dare question him about your relationship or argue back with him. And in thanks to him, you decide you need to say something to move the conversation onto a more lighthearted topic, adamant on raising above your mothers quip.
“Everything sounds delicious!” You overly enthuse. “Anything taking your fancy Tae?”
Finally tearing your gaze from the menu, you peer innocently towards him.
“Oh I’ve got my eye on something.” He smirks, confidently staring at you.
Whether he is speaking the truth or over-playing the part for the sake of being believable, you’re unsure. All you know is that you are affected by him dramatically.
In all honesty, you feel so stupid for ever thinking that your mother wanted lunch with you because she had taken a genuine interest in your life. It seems that, as always, Ruby is still the one that rules your parents love and support.
Although, you will admit that having Taehyung beside you makes it a million times more bearable. The irony of it all when he’s the one that used to pick on you and make unnecessary comments. Now he’s the one protecting you from them instead.
The remainder of lunch passes uneventfully, which you are thankful for. Taehyung continued to make a show of his affection towards you, and you had fed into it for the sake of believability. However, it’s on the walk back to campus that you notice something is plaguing him.
“Thank you for helping me again.” You voice, a little unsure how to break the silence between you. Taehyung’s stoic expression makes you nervous. He’s intimidating when he’s mad and, unlike before all of this fake relationship when you wouldn’t have cared much, you feel guilty.
“What did your sister say to you at the party that made you turn ill?” He’s stern, the abruptness of his tone making you shudder. You had no idea he’d even noticed your conversation with Ruby. Wasn’t he too preoccupied by your cousins children?
Your mind flashes back to that moment, her words echoing in your head again. He understands you more than even myself… you’re made for each other…
“Just how she thought we made a great couple.” You force yourself to hold his eye contact, worried smile etched onto your face. You’re technically not lying, just not giving away the whole truth. But you fear Taehyung can tell there’s more than you let on.
He’s sure of it.
“And?…” He presses, knowing that you’ll cave in under the pressure. He doesn’t like having to force you to tell him things, but right now it feels necessary.
“Well… it wasn’t really what she said.” You’re cautious. “More how it made me feel.”
By this point, you’ve reached the entrance to your building. However, Taehyung has made no attempt to let you off just because you’ve reached home. No. If anything, it’s making him more persistent.
“How did it make you feel?” He steps up to you. It’s almost torture how close his body is to yours, merely a hairs breadth away but not touching; skin ghosting skin. It makes you weak for him and he knows it.
You want to blurt everything out. How safe you feel when he’s around and how everything seems a little bit brighter because of his presence. How, when he’s gone, you miss him almost immediately and find yourself fantasising about what it would be like to invite him up to your small room, to have him hold you for the sake of wanting to, not because he has to.
“I felt like I wasn’t alone anymore.”
You’re hoping that he understands without the need for any further explanation. That, despite having attended huge family gatherings like that your entire life, you’d always felt so alone until you’d bought Taehyung along.
You don’t expect the kiss that Taehyung presses to your forehead, his hands finally caving in and holding your waist. Even if it is only for half a second.
“Anytime you need me, I’ll be there.” His promise floods you with emotions you’ve never felt before. Maybe Taehyung really does understand you more than anyone else.
~
It’s been just over a week since you last saw Taehyung. With so many assignments to complete and trying to recover from the aftermath of your family, you feel like time has just flown by.
Of course, while you’ve not seen each other in person for a while, that doesn’t mean you haven’t had any contact. Quite the opposite in fact.
Everyday you spend hours smiling at your phone screen like an idiot, always as the result of receiving a message or stupid meme from Taehyung. He’s been the main reason for your laughter on a daily basis, finding his unique humour and, more generally, the way he views the world so amusing.
Simultaneously, between the pressures of classes and football practice, Taehyung has found your conversations the best way for him to relax. Where things concern you, he’s not the captain of the football team or the wildly popular ‘it boy’, he’s just Taehyung; it’s nice to be seen simply as who he is, rather than who everyone builds him up to be.
Once again, Taehyung has found himself hoping for another opportunity to play your boyfriend. Once again, he continues to scold himself for being too afraid to make a move on you; a real one. He doesn’t understand how he can want to kiss someone so much, desperately wanting to be able to call you his and, yet, he’s unable to fully express his feelings. Especially when he is able to do it while pretending.
But that’s just the thing. Pretending isn’t real. If you were to push his affections away while he’s your fake boyfriend, then at least he can cover it up with the excuse of committing to his role.
What is real, however, is the message that lights up his phone screen. It’s from you. And he almost can’t believe his eyes when he reads what you’ve sent.
You need him to accompany you to a picnic at the weekend. Orders specifically from your mother for Taehyung to attend. He doesn’t think he’s ever smiled as wide as he is now, typing his reply to you.
The universe seems to work in mysterious ways.
~
The picnic, as it turns out, is an annual occasion reserved for just your parents, your sister and her fiancée and you. Taehyung finds this out once he is already there. He supposes it’s a good thing for your mothers insistence for him to join because it indicates that she believes in your relationship enough for your boyfriend to be included as immediate family.
Sat on the old woollen blanket with your legs outstretched before you, you have found comfort in leaning your upright body into Taehyung’s side. Both of his arms are stretched behind him, palms on the long strands of uncut grass to leverage himself and you.
Your family are currently engaged in a highly competitive game of frisbee; it’s literally the only time of year they play. Competing in your couples, the aim of the game is to catch the other team out. If you throw and they miss, you win a point for your team. With you and Taehyung currently refereeing, the first game is well underway.
“I wish you’d told me it was just going to be the six of us.” Taehyung bows his head a little in order to keep his voice low. He doesn’t want any eavesdroppers, even though your family seems to be intensely occupied by the game.
“Would it have made a difference if I had?” You lightheartedly retort.
“Oh yeah, I would have run a mile.” He teases, body rumbling with laughter as your fist lightly thumps his chest.
“Oh hush,” You reprimand. “What happened to I’ll be there anytime?” You mockingly mimic Taehyung’s words from before.
With your head resting on his chest, you’re unable to see the devilish smirk that plays across his lips. And before you have any time to register what’s happening, Taehyung has grabbed you by the waist and twisted your bodies so you both fall back onto the ground facing each other.
You let out a squeal upon the sudden attack, the side of your body hitting the earth with a thud.
“What was that for!” You try to scold him, but with the coy look on his face, it’s impossible not to find it all amusing.
Taehyung simply shrugs - well, half shrugs - in response, the soft sounds of your giggles the only noise between you.
It’s now that you realise just how close he’s pulled you. How, laying together on the ground, your faces are only a few inches apart. You then feel the urge to reach your fingers out so you can brush the hair that has fallen across his face away. And with the way he watches you so intently, you become increasingly aware of your own heartbeat.
“Hey!” You both jolt, head snapping to find Ruby stood at your feet. She looks wound up. “You didn’t keep count of the scores.”
“Honey, give them a break.” Max approached her side, his hand smoothing over her shoulder. “You remember what it was like to be newly in love.”
Max clearly has a way of making your sister let things go, you’ve never seen her back down so quickly.
“Fine.” She rolls her eyes. “It’s your turn anyway. Up you get!” She bosses, offering her hand out to pull you to your feet.
Reaching your waiting parents, you go to shake their hands, nodding affirmatively before you take your place, ready for the game to begin. You notice Taehyung finding your families seriousness towards a simple game of frisbee quite amusing. Clearly, no one has made him aware of what’s at stake here.
Bragging rights for the next year.
You hear Max count down from three and you spring into action the second you hear him shout go.
It’s intense from the offset. With your father making the first throw go so far you have to sprint to try and catch it before it hits the ground.
Luckily for you, Taehyung is fast on his feet. He manages to catch the frisbee with ease before running back and hurling it through the air in your mothers direction.
The game grows more intense with every passing second and so with it, does Taehyung’s competitive streak. He’s incredible, working with you to try and catch your parents out. On a particularly good throw by yourself, Taehyung rushes over to you, picking you up and spinning you around after your father was unable to catch it.
It’s the most fun you’ve ever had.
A few more turns are taken before the frisbee is sent flying your way again. It takes flight so high in the air that you know you need to make the highest jump you possibly can to catch it.
Zeroing in on the plastic disc, you ready yourself. Bending your knees and jumping with as much force as you can muster into the air.
“Yes!” You hear Taehyung’s deep voice cheer as you regain your balance with the frisbee clutched tightly to your chest. “That’s my baby!”
You’re amazed you actually caught it. But, somehow, your attention is focused more on Taehyung’s competitiveness. Anyone would think you just achieved the impossible judging by his reaction.
“Time!” You hear Ruby shout from the picnic blanket. And then reality comes rushing in.
You won. For the first time ever, you actually won the frisbee match. And it’s all because you had Taehyung.
“We did it!” You cry elatedly, falling into Taehyung’s arms as he gives you the biggest hug possible. “I’ve never actually won one of these before.”
“I told you we make a great team.” He reminds proudly.
You notice how everyone else has already retired to the picnic blankets again once you’ve pulled apart from Taehyung’s embrace. Grabbing his hand, you both rejoin the group with huge grins.
“That was the most intense game I’ve had in ages!” Your father praises. “I’ll have to put in extra practice for next year.”
You hear Taehyung respond to your father as you take a seat, accepting the way he pulls your body into his side and wraps his arm around you.
Next year.
It echo’s your mind, bringing you down from the euphoria of winning to torture you. Then reality sinks back in. That Taehyung isn’t your real boyfriend, that he won’t be joining your family picnic next year…
While your family falls into lighthearted conversation, pouring fresh drinks and enjoying the lovely day, you become more subdued. Folding on into yourself with each passing second until you feel like you can’t handle it anymore. You need some space.
“I-I’m going to find the restroom.” You suddenly announce, standing from the blanket and hurriedly walking away.
Taehyung frowns as he watches you leave. He’d noticed something was troubling you, but felt he couldn’t press to find out in front of your family, who remained oblivious. But now you’ve walked away, he knows he needs to go after you. He needs to make sure that you are ok.
~
“Why did you run away?” Taehyung catches up to you, stopping you from walking any further by grabbing onto your arm.
“I think I made a mistake bringing you here.” Your bottom lip quivers. “This isn’t right.”
“What’s not right about it?” His voice is soft, willing you to open up to him. He wants you to be able to tell him anything. He wants to be the person to make all the hurt and upset go away. “It certainly feels right to me.”
“We’re not a real couple Tae!” Your voice comes out more forceful than you intend it to, freeing your arm from his hold from the strength of your exasperation.
“So you think I should stop?” He looks hurt. “That we should just stop this?” His hands gesture between you.
“Yes! No - I don’t know!” You contemplate back and forth aloud before finally casting your sorrowful gaze onto him. “I’m petrified of my feelings towards you.”
“What makes you think that I don’t feel the same?” Taehyung’s question feels like a punch to the lungs, his quick rebuttal catching you so off guard. You stare at him wordlessly, allowing for all the things you said to hang in the air around you.
“Baby, how could you not notice how much I adore you…” Taehyung takes a step towards you, closing off the little space that separates you from him. He’s looking at you like no one else ever has, like you’re the only thing he sees, his whole world.
“How could you not see that I’m in love with you…” You allow his hands to find refuge on your waist.
“That it’s always been you.”
And just like that everything clicks in your mind. His constant watching you, all the comments he’d made to draw your attention onto him, sitting next to you in the classes you shared despite his apparent dislike towards you, his willingness to be your fake boyfriend, to interact with your family and make a show of his affection. Every pet name, every delicate kiss he placed on your skin, every longing look and lingering touch.
With the way you look at him, Taehyung is sure that your eyes hold all the stars in the universe. He knows this is his now or never moment.
So he takes the plunge, diving in head first, capturing your lips in his. You don’t think you will ever be able to find a way to describe how Taehyung truly makes you feel. All you know is that you want him to hold you and never let go; to kiss you and never stop. To be yours forever.
~ Epilogue ~
One year later
“Tae hurry!” The urgency in your voice is mellowed by your uncontainable laughter. You’re unable to keep still as you wait for him by the door, watching as he rushes about to pull his shoes on and grab his jacket. It’s comical how clumsy he is when rushing about. “My sister will never forgive me if we’re late to her wedding!”
“Ok, ready.” He affirms, grabbing your hand as you leave.
The last year has been a whirlwind. After the day of your family picnic, you finally went on a proper date with Taehyung, and it didn’t take you long to become official for real. It was at the end of the academic year when you both decided to find a place together outside of campus and from that moment onwards, you’ve continued to fall in love more and more everyday.
Then there was the matter of bringing a plus one to your sisters wedding. You’d teased Taehyung for days about how you were unsure who to bring as your date. But, don’t worry, he got his own back on you after you began to find the joke boring and actually asked him to go with you (despite both of you knowing he would be going all along).
Reality is, you couldn’t be any happier with each other. So maybe your stupid lie to your parents wasn’t so stupid after all.

Note
Why would Taennie be mediaplay or pr?? Taehyung is part of the most popular group in the world, and he's arguably the most popular member, why would he do pr? There's nothing for him to gain from it. And why now?? The taennie rumors have been circulating since late 2021 when he followed then unfollowed her on Instagram, and he was quick to take it to weverse and say it was an accident. Then the Jeju island pics came months later in May. Then the gurumi pics came around August last year. Then the Paris pics last month. And none of these things were confirmed nor denied. Taehyung usually denies dating rumors that involve him himself, so obviously this one is real and his privacy has been breached, so he can't lie and say it isn't real, but he doesn't owe us a confirmation either. It's his personal life.
Hi anon!
I don’t think you are fully understanding the meaning and workings of pr. Every (!) celeb does pr. The ways in which they do this may differ hugely, but pr is necessary to reach the top and it is necessary to stay on top. BTS has always done pr. BlackPink has always done pr.
Let’s take this out of the realm of Kpop for a minute (a little distance to see things clearly). A quick search online gave me these articles. All of these are pr.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
David Beckham wants to stay in the eye of the public, so he gets papped every now and then. The British royal family has enough problems for a lifetime, so they try and avert attention. Taylor Swift means what she says, but it’s also good for her image. And Kim Kardashian’s whole life is basically pr. No matter how famous you are… there’s always going to be goals to reach, scandals to bury, or just trying to keep on top. Paps don’t go looking for celebs as they used to. Celebs have become pro-active, so they can keep control of what’s being written about them. Linking this article again:
You might think Tae and Jennie don’t need the promo, I can guarantee that their companies think differently. Tae is entering a new era. Going solo is very different from being a part of BTS.. and he possibly has something to hide (ofcourse he has!!). Jennie possibly wants to act more. She has much stuff to promote (pr) and has already gained a lot of promo for her new series on HBO. Pr is part of a celeb’s life.. whether they like it or not.
Now what you possibly mean is that Tae doesn’t need to have a fake relationship. In a perfect world, no he wouldn’t… but this world isn’t perfect and queer people sadly enough have to hide. If he chooses to combine that with a strong dose of pr.. then he certainly wouldn’t be the first one.
Ofcourse he won’t deny or confirm.. this works way better.

Tumblr media
I smirk as Taehyung held his arm out, our plan being set in motion. Taehyung led us through the crowd and to the front of all the displayed cars. Taehyung fakes interest in them as we make our way down the line while I take small glances at the target. I sent him a flirty smile when he caught me looking before quickly turning back to Taehyung. “He's looking at us.” I whisper pressing myself into him to make it look more than what it actually is. Taehyung nods his head before looking at the next car purposely making him look disinterested in what I have to say. I huff and turn back to the lines of the car. When I look back at the man he’s already looking at me, I make my cheeks flush before turning back Taehyung, “I have him,” I whisper to him again. Tae once again looks disinterested but I can tell he’s growing excited.
When he finally made it to the wanted car the man in front of us stared at me the whole time, completely disregarding Taehyung. “What do you think baby? Would it look good with my collection?” Tae asks with a hidden smirk. “I think it would,” I nod along dumbly. “Would you race for it?” Taehyung questions the man, the man tears his gaze away from me to Tae a wicked grin spreading across his lips. “I only race for pink lips,” He smirks, “That's fine, I have a car I’ll bet. It sits right over there.” Tae offers yet already knowing he’ll decline. “I don’t race for cars kid, If you want this car I want a night with your girlie here,” he grins. I widen my eyes before snapping them over to Taehyung, His face remains passive as he continues to chew on his gum. “Then lets race.” He offers holding his hand out for him to shake.
The man grins sickeningly as he clasps hands with Taehyung. I let go of Tae’s arm as he turns to walk away. When I turned with him I felt a slap land on the back of my ass. It took all I had not swing around and punch him, and judging from the faces of our watching audience it’s taking a lot of self control for them too, some already rolling up their sleeves and being held back by others.
I continue to walk alongside Taehyung until we get back to the group. “I swear to god Tae if you don’t win this I’ll let Namjoon beat your ass.” I growl. Taehyung lets out a wearly laugh, “Don’t worry angel I got you,” He smiles boyishly. I watch as he climbs into his car before lining up at the starting line.
Jimin approaches beside me with his hands tucked into his pants a casual smirk carved across his face. “If he loses do you want me to talk you out of it?” He offers with a small amused smirk, “There’s no need, He’ll win.” I answer. “Who wouldn’t when you're threatened by the Dark God,” He laughs, “It’s not that, He’ll win because despite the fact he says he wants the car it isn’t the car itself  he wants.” I muse as the flag girl stands between the cars. “I don’t follow,” Jimin mumbles. “Taehyung has won a car from every person here that isn’t a part of the elites. This man he is facing is new, he’s only started coming around here a month ago. Which is more than enough time for Tae to figure out how he works and how he drives.” I smirk as I watch Tae stalls momentarily to allow him the man the head start.
“And why would Tae waste time doing that?” Jimin scoffs, “Because he wants to win, he wants a trophy. Much like how serial killers take trophies from their victims.” I explain. “His car garage in the city is his trophy room, not a single car in that room has been bought by Taehyung. They’ve all been won from every single person here who races.” I grin as Taehyung’s car revs and flies right after the man. His car easily caught up, just after the second stop light.
“How the fuck do you know that?” Jimin gaps, “Namjoon didn’t waste a year just teaching me how to drive you know,” I laugh. “I knew all about you guys before I even met you. Granted it was pretty scary to meet you guys in person, but I’ve had time to connect the dots and adjust,” I smirk over at him. I turned my head back to the race just in time to see Tae drift his car a full 180, he even went so far to do it as close to the man’s car the hoods could kiss.
“Aish, Namjoon turned you so evil,” Jimin sighs, “Oh sweetie, I’ve always been evil. Namjoon just polished it up and gave me a new shine.” I grin. Jimin’s face crunches up to a disturbed and bothered look. I watch excitedly as Tae’s car revs as he slows down teasingly, before ripping off again. I watch smugly as he passes the second stop light then the first. Naming him the winner.
I pat Jimin on his shoulder before strutting my way over to Taehyung as the man is only just pulling up. I come up behind tae and smugly rest my head on his shoulder as the man stomps over to us keys in hand. Tae chews his gum with a smirk as he holds his hand out for the keys. The man sneers as he slams his keys into Taehyung's hand. The man shot me a dark look before he smirks, “Don’t worry girlie, I may not get you tonight but I know someone who would love to get his hands on you.” He chuckles. I roll my eyes at his comment as I watch him stalk off.
I grim at Tae as he pumps his fist in the air in victory. “I owe you darling,” He grins, pressing a kiss to my cheek. “Aish, I thought the act was over?” Jungkook calls, I scoff and look over him as he approaches. “Nice race Tae,” He grins over at his friend, “Thanks, I honestly over estimated him. I thought it would be harder. I guess it was because I had Namjoon breathing down my neck to win.” Tae sighs. “It’s called tough love tae,” I tease, “Tell that to Namjoon Angel,” Jimin scoffs.
“Speaking of Namjoon?” I mumble looking over the crowd to find him but can’t. “They’re over there, the crowd is just hyped up from the race.” Jungkook answers. “I’ll walk you over, if you can’t walk through the crowds at school there's no way in hell you can get through this.” He laughs, I kiss my teeth and shove him with my shoulder playfully.
Jungkook laughs before leading me through the crowd, somewhere in the middle I lose him in the crowd and a hand grabs my wrist. I spin around only to come face to face with the monster of my nightmares. “Why the fuck are here (y/n)?” He growls, “And why the fuck are you dressed like a slut?” He sneers distatsfully. I jerk my hand from his grip and make a run for it pushing my way through people calling for Namjoon.
Instead of Namjoon I see Jungkook spinning around wildly at my voice. “JUNGKOOK!” I screech only to feel a blunt force knock me over the back of my head. The force is enough to knock me to the ground. The gravel of the asfalt dug into my knees when I hit the ground. I don’t stay there long when that name knots itself in my hair before proceeding to drag me off.
I kick and scream for him to let go, but he drags me all the way to his old car. He hits me over my head a few times and kicks at my gut before throwing me into the back seat and slamming the door. I feel my heart sink into my stomach as the car starts and he screams out of the parking lot. “LET ME GO!” I scream, throwing a punch at him from the back seat, the action causes him to swerve in the middle of the road. “LAY DOWN BITCH!” He yells, knocking his fist into face effectively back handing me. The hit makes my brain rattle, and the world around me spins. I force myself to sit up and look out the window, I could jump out.
I pull at the handle only for it to rattle because it’s locked. I fumble to unlock it as I grow more and more dizzy. All the punches catching up to me all at one time. “HEY! STOP FUCKING WITH THE DOOR!” He yells before purposely swerving the car so hard I fall back into the seat. I grunt as I fall across the seat, I try to sit up again but he reaches around his seat and hits me again. This time using his palm to strike across my temple. The hit makes the world flash dangerously black, but it’s not enough to make me black out. I stay still so the dizziness will fade, however it only allows the world around me to spot.
The sound of roaring engines break the silent air, I think it’s my burry mind playing tricks on me until I hear him curse at the noise. I sit up so fast the world spins but I force it to focus as I look out the back window. Trailing behind us is four cars, one red car, one pink, one sliver grey, and one familiar black one.
I watch in amazement as the red one speeds past the three cars and pulls out in front of us. I watch as he tries to swerve around the red car, only for the red car to pull in front of him every time. The black and silver grey cars pull up beside us, one taking each side of the car. The pink car remains on our tail, which allows all four cars to box us in.
I gasp in amazement as the black car rolls down it’s window to reveal a Jungkook, behind him at the wheel is Namjoon. I’m momentarily frozen as I look at them, both having look’s I’ve never seen before. Jungkook has one of indescribable determination and Namjoon’s...one that scares me. Scares me in a way I actually feel sorry for him when Namjoon gets his hands on him.
“(Y/N)!” Jungkook screams, knocking me out of my frozen state. My eyes widen as I see half of Jungkook’s body leaning out the window, “COME ON! I GOT YOU!” He screams holding his arms out. “DON'T YOU DARE (Y/N)!” He screams from behind the wheel as he continues to try and find a way to break out of the box. I don’t listen as I start to crank the handle for the window, eternally grateful it’s a manual. He jerks the car into the silver car beside us to keep me from rolling down the window but I hold onto the seat and do my damndest to get it down.
I roll it all the way down before grabbing both sides on the window. I don’t even get my head out before he’s ramming into the bumper of the red car. I hiss when my shoulder is slammed into the side of the window. “COME ON (Y/N), COME ON! I’LL CATCH YOU, JUST JUMP!” Jungkook calls. I swallow hard and look past him to Namjoon. Namjoon’s scary look softens, “COME ON BABY. COME ON!” He calls from his side before quickly turning back to the road.
I take a deep breath as I climb as far I can out the window, my stomach drops as I see the road below me. I scream when I feel the car backs into the hood of the pink car. “LOOK AT ME (Y/N)! LOOK AT ME BABY!” Jungkook screams, my eyes snap to him quickly meeting his big brown eyes. “JUMP! IT’S OKAY, JUST JUMP!” He calls almost begging. I swallow hard before closing my eyes. With one second of bravery and fear I push my left foot off the car and hold my arms out.
As soon as they meet something I grip onto it for dear life. I feel a strong hold wrap itself around my waist, it’s then I open my eyes to meet Jungkook grinning at me. “I got you baby, I got you.” He smiles. I nod my head weakly as he carefully maneuvers us back inside the car. Jungkook settles me into his lap, his strong hold unwavering. I rest my head on his shoulder as adrenaline starts to come down, “Come on baby stay with us. Don’t close your eyes.” He calls patting my hip to catch my attention. “Don’t let her close her eyes Jungkook,” I hear Namjoon call, “I won’t,” he promises in return.
I turn my attention to the car beside us, my eyes widen as I see the car ram into us. I hold on to Jungkook as tight as I can when the car jerks. Namjoon curses beside us and reaches over for a walkie talkie. “Flip the bastard,” he ordered, “You got in boss,” the cheery voice of Hoseok sounds out in return. Seconds later the red car in front slams on the brakes, the car beside us hits its bumper before flying over the silver-grey car that effortlessly slides under it as it does before replacing its previous position beside us.
I watch as the flying car hits the road and rolls three times before stopping. Namjoon slows down before circling around to the broken car which now lays on the side of the road. When Namjoon comes to a stop Jungkook helps me out of the car. Hoseok and Jimin had stopped further down the road, and they are jogging up to the road to meet up with us, as Yoongi and Taehyung are pulling the broken car apart, Jin’s car slowly pulls into a stop before he too is stepping out. I watch as Taehyung pulls out his body before dropping him. I hear him groan and the sound causes a flare of anger. I jerk myself out of Jungkook’s hold before rushing over to his body, sounds of panic ring through the air but no one can stop me in time before I land a swift kick to his face. I sneer as I feel blood splatter over the bare spots of my heel. I can’t bring myself to care enough not to land another kick to his face.
Before I can make a third, gentle hands pull me away. I turn sharply to face them, only to meet the soft brown eyes of Jungkook. “Easy, easy. It’s gonna be okay.” He whispers gently brushing my knotted hair out of my face. The softness of his tone causes something in me to break as I feel hot angry tears to well up in my eyes. “HE DESERVES IT! THAT PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A FATHER DESERVES TO KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE BEATEN!” I cry, weakly throwing my hands at him and slapping his chest. Jungkook’s eyes widen but he doesn’t say a word as he takes all the weak slaps I throw at him. “I know, I know.” He mumbles gently taking my hands in his to stop the slapping. My breathing becomes ragged but my crying stops.
“(y/n),” I hear Namjoon call, following the sound of his voice I met with him holding out his hand, a gun within it. My eyes widen before looking up at Namjoon. “Can I?” I question unsure if he’ll actually allow it. “It’s okay, you can do it.” He soothes. I slowly pull away from Jungkook and make my way over to Namjoon. Namjoon holds his empty hand out for me to take, and I take it without hesitation. He gently leads me over to his body, Namjoon wraps his arms around me and guides my hands to hold the gun correctly before letting go and backing away. “It’s okay (y/n), you can do it.” He soothes.
“Don’t you dare (Y/n)! I am your father! I took care of you when your mom left us like the gold digging whore she was.” He calls from his place on the ground. I glare at him, but before I can say anything Namjoon is already talking. “You didn’t do a damn thing for her, you left her to the streets where I found her, for the last year I took care of her, raised her, protected her. You may be her father, but I’ve been more a dad to her than you will ever be,” Namjoon snaps in the most vicious tone I have ever heard him speak in. “She’s MY girl, and if she can’t shoot you herself then I’ll be the one to do it. Because someone like you doesn’t deserve to breathe after all you’ve done to her.” Namjoon promises.
“Do baby girl, you won’t have to be scared of him anymore. I’ll take care of you from now on,” He whispers. “Promise?” I question weakly looking over at him but not moving my hands away from the stance he guided me in. “Promise,” he smiles, Dimples in all. That’s all it took for me to look back and pull the trigger.
Nothing else needed to be said as we left. Leaving the crash and dead body for the cops to handle, but a part of me hopes his body will be eaten by street rats. All of us found ourselves at the farm house where I met them all, all that time ago, only this time I have no one to be scared of and no one to fear. Upon arriving Namjoon had me shower and put on spare pants and a T-shirt. All three times my size and smells like Namjoon. After I quietly sit on the couch, everyone else sits around me. Namjoon wraps a blanket over me every five minutes, even though I push it off each time. By the fifth time I finally huff, “Why do you keep wrapping a blanket around me?” I grumble, “Because you're in shock,” He answers simply. I snarl and throw the blanket at him, “Just because I’m in shock doesn’t mean I need a blanket. It means I need booze.” I snip.
“She’s exactly right, In fact I think we all need booze,” Yoongi perks up, “I’ll be right back,” He chimes before walking off in the direction of the kitchen. Namjoon shoots up and hurriedly follows after him, most likely in an attempt to stop him. I watch as they leave but once they disappear past the living room door I turn my gaze to the rest of the room. Jimin finally seems to come to terms with something as he stood up and determinedly walked his way over to me. “Can I hug you? Just this once?” He questions softly, despite his previous determined attitude. I nibble on my bottom lip before finally opening my arms to him, Jimin practically throws himself on me when I offer myself up to him.
I grunt as he laughs, “You're so heavy! Get off!” I groan. “No, I gotta soak it in. This might be the only time I’ll ever get to hug you.” He denies. “It will if you don’t get off now.” I snap. “Please, we all know you’re as touch starved as I am.” He sneers, I feel my cheeks heat up at his comment. I don't have in me to rebut in fear of the next comment that may come out of his mouth. Jimin laughs in victory. “It’s okay. We all have so much pain for people so young.” He mumbles softly.
Jimin only lets go when Yoongi comes in carrying a bottle of alcohol and shot glasses with a regretful looking Namjoon trailing behind him. Namjoon takes his place beside me with a sullen look, “Did Yoongi chew you out again?” I question, Namjoon lets out a long sigh before nodding. Yoongi sets a glass down in front of me and fills it up first, he fills another and another before all of us have one. Yoongi sets the bottle down before lifting his shot in the air, “To the goddess! May she race through many boundless nights and rise above the ranks of the Elites and Legacies, May she live her life so that when the reaper comes to collect that even he will be sad to see her leave!” He toasts before knocking his shot back. “To the Goddess,” The six other men salute before they too kick back their shot. A smile spreads across my lips as I tilt my head back and take my shot.
Shots after shots were taken, soon enough words slurred together, and drunken arguments were being fought. “I’M TELLING YOU, I WON THAT RACE AND YOU DAMN WELL KNEW IT!” Seokjin yells at his prodigy from across the room. I laugh drunkenly at the offended face Jungkook made. “I’M JK! I DON’T LOSE TO OLD MEN LIKE YOU!” He shouts back, I laugh harder as Jin stands up and points an accusing finger at him before going off.
After my laughter dies I look back at Jungkook who’s staring at me from across the room. I look down at my shot glass awkwardly before glancing back up hoping he still wasn’t looking at me. He still stares at me, his eyes are swirling and I’m too drunk to tell with what.
“Namjoon,” I whisper over to the older man. Namjoon hums over the rim of his shot glass. “Why is he staring at me?” I question in a hush tone, “Who?” Namjoon questions, “Jungkook!” I whisper harshly. Namjoon glances over at Jungkook and back at me. A realization clicked in his mind at some point because he started laughing. “What? What is it!” I demand pulling on his arm.
Namjoon continues to laugh before planting a sloppy kiss on my forehead, “You know He once confessed how long he’s looked for a place to worship, and you my little goddess are bringing him to his knees.” He spoke cryptically. “I DON’T UNDERSTAND YOUR PHILOSOPHY JOON!” I whine loudly. My outburst causes the entire room to erupt in laughter.
I huff and start pouring myself shots, four shots later I find myself in the bathroom hovering over the toilet. I whine as my stomach turns and twists. I struggle to hold my hair back as I finally throw up. It only lasts a minute before I pull myself up, My hair everywhere but still thankfully clean. I turn and flush the toilet but I catch the figure of someone standing in the doorway of the bathroom. My eyes widened as Jungkook stood there in shock.
“How long have you been standing there?” I question meekly with a grimace, not really wanting to hear his answer. “Longer than you’d like.” He muses before stepping in and closing the door behind him. Jungkook pulls out a rag and runs it under hot water before squatting down beside me. He brushes a few strands of hair out of my face before gently wiping around my mouth.
“You know if it wasn't totally unethical, I would totally blackmail you with this,” He teases with a small smile. “Because you're a shining beacon of ethics aren’t you?” I mumble sarcastically. Jungkook doesn’t get to answer before my stomach turns again and I’m bending back over the toilet. This time Jungkook is holding my hair and pulling it back for me as I continue to puke my guts out.
This time after I pull back my stomach feels better, less upset than the last time. I relax when the pain subdues, Jungkook flushes the toilet before wiping my face off again. “Thanks,” I mumble sluggishly, “Are you feeling a bit better?” He questions. I nod my head, “Come on, let's get you cleaned up and into a bed,” He chuckles. I nod my head as Jungkook is lifting me up to my feet, he folds down the top of the toilet before guiding me down to sit on it.
He bends back down and digs out a blue toothbrush, he then quickly runs it under water and adds toothpaste before handing it to me. As I brush my teeth a knock comes from the door, “(Y/n)? Baby girl? Are you okay in there?” Namjoon’s voice calls out from behind the door. “NAM-BOOM” I whine with a toothpaste filled mouth. Jungkook opens the door and Namjoon steps in, he shoots Jungkook a curious look before glancing at me.
“Walked in on her throwing up. I held her hair up for her and I was trying to get her cleaned up before I put her into one of the beds.” Jungkook summarizes. I nodded my head along with him and held my hands out for Joon. I made grabby hands at him, desperately wanting to hug him. Namjoon chuckles at me, “Alright Baby girl I get it. Why don’t you let kookie get you to bed hmm?” He smiles. “Want hug!” I demand, “Kookie can give you hugs, I’m going to go back down stairs okay?” He smiles softly as he eases himself out of the room. I whine loudly not wanting him to go.
I pout when the door finally closes, Jungkook lets out a long sigh before taking me by my hands and lifting me off the toilet seat and over to the sink. I spit out the toothpaste and rinse my mouth. Jungkook uses his sleeve to wipe my mouth. “I want Namjoon,” I mumble sleepy, “I know,” He answers. “Please?” I beg, “Not right now okay? I’ll get him when you get to bed.” He promises. “But...Namjoon, he promised.” I whimper, my chest tightens and my shoulders grow heavy as my eyes water. Giant globs of tears are rolling down my cheeks.
“HEY! HEY! IT’S OKAY! NAMJOON IS RIGHT DOWN STAIRS!” Jungkook panics. “I want Namjoon!” I blubber out as my throat opens and closes tightly. “I know, I know,” He tries to sooth. “NAMJOON!” I scream before becoming a sobbing mess. “Baby! Baby look at me,” Jungkook demands cupping my cheeks with his hands to get and keep my attention. “It’s going to be okay, because when Namjoon isn’t here to take care of you I will, okay?” He questions, I stiffly nod my head as my crying slows down to hiccups.
Jungkook lets out a small sigh of relief as my sobbing stops, but My lip still trembles. Jungkook huffs before pulling me into a hug, I wrap my arms around him in sloppy fashion. I nuzzle myself into his warm body, instantly getting cozy with his cologne and heat. “Alright baby, bedtime.” He mumbles, “I don’t wanna,” I grumble. “Well you gotta.” He resorts, “Can’t make me,” I shot back.
“But I can,” He smirks, I don’t get to fire back before he’s reaching under me and scooping me up. I screech at the attraction as he opens the door and carries me down the hallway. He carries me into the first bedroom, flops me down on the bed. I squeal out a giggle as I land and bounce on the bed. “AGAIN!” I squeal, holding my hands out for him. “No ma’am, it’s bedtime.” He chuckles, I pout “M'not sleepy,” I mumble. “Then how about you just lay in bed until you are hmm?” He questions. I shook my head, “Don’t wanna, I wanna see Joonie.” I smile before sitting up and push myself to the edge of the bed. I don’t get past standing up before Jungkook has an arm hooking around my waste and tosses me back on the bed. “I said no, now listen.” He spoke sternly.
“You're not my dad, I killed him.” I babble, Jungkook is silenced for a minute. “Do you want me to go get Namjoon then? He’ll be angry you're not listening.” He threatens and crosses his arm. I shrink down and look away, “No, I’ll be good.” I mumble crawling further into the bed and into the blankets. I sulk as I turn and face away from him, Jungkook lets out a long sigh before walking over to the other side of the bed to face me. I grumble and turn over again. “Baby, come on.” He whispers, I don’t answer him and continue the silent treatment.
Until I felt the dip and seconds after an arm wrap around me and pull me back into a chest. “M'sorry,” He whispers, I glance at him still not speaking a word. “I’m sorry,” He repeats more clearly and presses a kiss to my shoulder. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” He chants pressing kisses everywhere he can with each sorry. A reluctant giggle slips through my lips at the actions, I turn and wrap my arm around him before snuggling into him. I take advantage of the warmth and soak up as much as I can.
I feel my eyes droop and sleep make an appearance. Jungkook’s voice says something but I don’t process the words as I slip into sleep.
I wake up with a pounding headache, I groan as light scorns me. Rolling over I’m met with a warm wall, a quick glance up I see the messy hair of Namjoon. Disregarding the fact that he’s in the same bed as me I bury my head into the first nook I find to get away from the light.
“Baby,” Namjoon rasps, I hum in acknowledgement but refuse to uncover my face. “Come on, up.” He mumbles pushing my shoulder, I moan in protest. “Come on Baby girl, we gotta get heading home soon.” He grunts pushing onto my back. I hiss as the light smacks me in the face. I roll back over only this time away from Namjoon, “You know, I bet Jin is cooking breakfast.” He muses.
I turn to look at Namjoon, silently judging if he is lying or not. I can’t tell sadly, so I decide to take the risk and get up anyway. Namjoon laughs as I pull myself out of bed, “Just be glad I’m not sending Jungkook in here after you.” He teases. I felt my nerves spike and on reflex I grab the closest thing, a pillow, and chuck it at his head.
While Namjoon continues to have his laugh I exit the room and walk to the bathroom where I clean the remains of my makeup off. After I finish cleaning myself up I wander down the stairs and, by some grace of god, find Seokjin humming away as he cooks in the kitchen. Upon entering I met with the sky smirk of Taehyung. “There she is! I was afraid you’d throw up more this morning.” He teases.
I send him a seething look as Yoongi sips his coffee, but I can see the small smirk itched onto his lips. “Don’t you have some poor soul to torment Greed?” I snap, Taehyung sends me a boyish smile and leans his head onto his hand. “Not until 12 darling.” He chimes.
“Don’t mind him darling, he’s just feeling a bit more provocative this morning.” Jimin scoffs as he enters the room. He presses a kiss to my cheek as he passes but lands a light slap to the back of Taehyung’s head when he moves over to sit at the table.
“Don’t start simping for her now Jimin, I’ve trained her well enough that she won’t fall for your pretty words.” Namjoon calls as he enters the room. Jimin’s pretty lips form a small pout, “Cold of you to assume I would stoop so low.” He snips.
“There is no such thing as too low when it comes to you chim,” Hoseok chimes from his place at the table. Jimin rolls his eyes and continues to make himself tea. Namjoon pats my head before moving past me to the coffee maker, Namjoon filles two cups before putting in cream and sugar.
Namjoon passes me a cup before he too places himself at the table. I follow his lead and sit myself between Jimin and Taehyung. From the table I watch Jungkook stumble into the room with a dazed look and messy bed hair. He yawns and digs a hand up his sweatshirt to scratch his chest.
“You look like you’ve been run over.” Jin comments with a laugh, “I didn’t know I look like you when I roll out of bed.” Jungkook mumbles. I choke on my drink as the comment comes out of Jungkook’s mouth. Jimin pats my back worriedly as I watch Jin wave a spatula in Jungkook’s face as he scolds on how to respect his elders and that he himself is in fact very handsome.
“So I heard that you little goddess are planning to build your own car? Do you have any idea what model you want?” Yoongi smirks, I shrug glancing down at my coffee. “Maybe something the same year as Namjoon.” mumble, “I think it would be easier on me since I already know how to drive a car like Monster.” I continue.
Yoongi nods in agreement, “Well, if she wants something like Namjoon I’m sure you two can figure it out. But if you want something fast and exotic come on over to me.” Hoseok grins with a wink.
“How about a Monte Carlo? The 1972 Monte Carlo is pretty on par with the 1970 challenger,” yoongi suggests. I glance over to Namjoon and see him nodding along with him. “I think we can get our hands on an old Monte Carlo.” He smirks, “Would I get to pick the color?” I question. “I don’t see why you wouldn’t, Hell I’m sure if you wanted Yoongi could paint your bike the same color.” Namjoon shrugs.
“Wait (y/n) is getting a bike!” Taehyung yelps to his mentor, “You really think I’d let her drive around that piece of crap she came with?” Yoongi scoffs. “I want a bike too!” Taehyung groans, “You don’t even know how to drive one.” Jungkook points out. “(y/n) can teach me,” Tae smirks.
My eyes widened at his declaration, “Hold on!” I wave. “I didn’t agree to anything.” I address, “If Tae is getting taught, I want to, too!” Jimin speaks up. “Bullshit, I want her to teach me!” Jungkook argues. I groan and let my head fall against the table. “Don’t worry baby girl, you have plenty of time to teach them all.” Namjoon laughs. I shoot him a nasty glare, but he returns my unspoken insult with a smug smile.
Jin intervenes by setting down plate after plate of food. I thank him quickly before stuffing my face. “At least someone knows how to show appreciation,” Jin sighs dramatically. The six other men roll their eyes before they sooth his ego by thanking him.
After breakfast Namjoon and the older men clean it up. While I and the youngest take to cleaning up the house. When everyone was finished we said our goodbyes before we all loaded up into our cars. The drive home was long since we traveled the long way back to the garage to avoid any cops, who flooded the streets after last night’s incident.
Getting home felt like a splash of cold water, I glance at Namjoon as he turns on all the lights. “This is home now,” I whisper, “Don’t kid yourself baby girl. This has always been home.” Namjoon snips with a smug smile. My laugh bounces off the walls of the living room, “Yeah, I guess you're right,” I grin.
